1 猶大王烏西亞，以色列王約轄子耶羅破暗時地震，前二年，提哥亞衆牧中，有亞麼士得默示，言以色列民之事，曰， |
|
2 在彼郇邑，耶路撒冷，耶和華降命，其聲叱吒，牧場寂寞，加密山巔荒蕪， |
|
3 耶和華曰，大馬色人犯罪，至三至四，更以鐵器擊基列民人，故我必罰其罪， |
|
4 火焚哈泄家，燬便哈達之宮殿。 |
|
5 又曰，我將破大馬色之關，誅必甲亞文之居民，戮伯埃田之執政，遷亞蘭人於吉地。 |
|
6 耶和華又曰，迦薩人犯罪，至三至四，且虜民甚衆，鬻於以東，我必罰其罪， |
|
7 火焚迦薩城垣，燬其宮殿。 |
|
8 又曰，我必滅亞實突之居民，絕亞實基倫之執政，降罰於以革倫，使非利士人淪續胥以亡。 |
|
9 耶和華又曰，推羅犯罪，至三至四，更以俘囚，鬻於以東，不念舊約，以修和好，故我必罰其罪， |
|
10 火焚推羅城垣，燬其宮殿。 |
|
11 耶和華又曰，以東犯罪，至三至四，更逐兄弟，擊之以刃，絕無矜憫，挾怨傷人，藏怒不已，故我必罰其罪 |
|
12 火焚提慢，燬破斯喇之殿。 |
|
13 耶和華又曰，亞捫犯罪，至三至四，更刳剔基列之孕婦，恢廓土壤，故我必罰其罪 |
|
14 火焚喇巴城垣，燬其宮殿，戰鬪之日，大聲疾呼，勢若狂飇驟起， |
|
15 君王見虜，牧伯爲俘，我耶和華已言之矣。 |
AmosChapter 1 |
|
1 THE words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake. |
|
2 And he said: The LORD will roar from Zion, and shout from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither. |
|
3 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron; |
|
4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Bar-hadad. |
|
5 I will break also the bars of Damascus and cut off the inhabitants from the plain of Aon and him that holds the sceptre from the house of Eden; and the people of Aram shall go into captivity to Kir, says the LORD. |
|
6 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof, because they carried away captive the whole population to deliver them up to Edom; |
|
7 But I will send a fire on the walls of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof; |
|
8 And I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod and him that holds the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says the LORD God. |
|
9 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof, because they delivered up the whole population to Edom and remembered not the brotherly covenant. |
|
10 But I will send a fire on the walls of Tyre, which shall devour the palaces thereof. |
|
11 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof, because he did pursue his brother with the sword and did cast off all pity and he kept his anger perpetually and he kept his wrath for ever; |
|
12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah. |
|
13 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of the Ammonites, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment from them, because they have ripped up women with child in Gilead, that they might enlarge their border; |
|
14 But I will kindle a fire in the streets of Rabbath, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind; |
|
15 And Malcom shall go into captivity, he and his priests and his princes together, says the LORD. |
