1 Не радоваться тебе, земля Израилева, не торжествовать, как принято у других народов в дни жатвы! Ты ведь Богу своему изменила, тебе полюбилась плата блудницы за разврат твой на каждом гумне.
2 Но ни гумно, ни давильня таковых не прокормят, и вина молодого не будет у них.
3 Не жить таким на земле ГОСПОДНЕЙ: ефремляне вернутся в Египет, пищу нечистую будут есть в Ассирии.
4 Не совершать им возлияний в честь ГОСПОДА, и жертвы их не будут угодны Ему, ведь такие приношения — что хлеб скорбящих по умершим; кто будет есть их, тот непременно осквернится. Такою пищею им лишь голод свой утолять, а не вносить ее в Дом ГОСПОДЕНЬ!
5 Как думаете вы праздники отмечать без Храма и жертвоприношений, что станете делать в дни торжества ГОСПОДНЕГО?
6 Случись избежать им погибели, приберет их к рукам Египет и Мемфис устроит им похороны; земля — их богатство — крапивой зарастет, а терн колючий заполонит шатры их.
7 Пришли для вас дни возмездия, настали дни воздаяния! Знай это, Израиль! Пророк в ваших глазах глуп, и муж вдохновленный безумен — всё это из-за тяжкой вины вашей да великой враждебности к пророкам Господним.
8 Пророк вместе с Богом своим стоит и предостерегать Ефрема обязан, но куда бы ни пошел он — всюду пред ним западня птицелова и враждебность к нему на земле Бога его!
9 Погрязли они глубоко во грехе! В свое время подобное в Гиве случилось. Бог не забудет нечестие их и за грехи их воздаст им.
10 «Найти Израиль для Меня было то же самое, что найти грозди винограда в пустыне или первые созревшие плоды смоковницы; смотрел Я с радостью на отцов ваших. Но вот пришли они к Ваал-Пеору и отдались там Ваалу гнусному; сами стали мерзки, как и идолы, которых они полюбили.
11 Посему оставит Ефрема величие былое, как птица улетит: ни родов, ни беременностей, ни зачатий.
12 А если и вырастит кто детей, всех до единого у них отниму. Худо им будет, когда отвернусь Я от них!
13 Стать добычей врага обречены сыновья Ефрема, он должен будет вывести своих детей к убийце».
14 Воздай же отступникам, о ГОСПОДИ, как Ты и вознамерился воздать им! Сделай бесплодным их чрево и грудь высохшей!
15 «Все их злодейства там, в Гилгале, вызвали ненависть Мою. За зло, которое творят, из дома Моего их изгоню, любить их как Свой народ больше не буду; князья их все непокорны Мне.
16 Сражен Ефрем, засох его корень, не принести ему уже плодов; А если и родят детей — предам Я смерти взлелеянное во чреве их».
17 Так вот и отвергнет их Бог мой, ибо слушать Его они не захотели, посему и будут меж язычников скитаться.

3 They shall not dwell3427 in the LORD's3068 land;776 but Ephraim669 shall return7725 to Egypt,4714 and they shall eat398 unclean2931 things in Assyria.804
4 They shall not offer5258 wine8492 offerings to the LORD,3068 neither3808 shall they be pleasing6149 to him: their sacrifices2077 shall be to them as the bread3899 of mourners;205 all3605 that eat398 thereof shall be polluted:2930 for their bread3899 for their soul5315 shall not come935 into the house1004 of the LORD.3068
