Глава 3

1 Царь Навуходоносор повелел сделать золотого идола высотой в шестьдесят локтей и шириной в шесть локтей и поставить его в долине Дура, в области Вавилонской.

2 Разослал царь Навуходоносор гонцов, чтобы созвали они сатрапов, градоначальников, наместников, советников, казначеев, судей, чиновников и правителей всех областей: пусть прибудут на освящение идола, которого поставил царь Навуходоносор.

3 И вот собрались сатрапы, градоначальники, наместники, советники, казначеи, судьи, чиновники и правители всех областей на освящение идола, поставленного царем Навуходоносором, и выстроились они перед идолом, которого поставил Навуходоносор.

4 Тогда глашатай возвестил во всеуслышание: «Мужи из всех народов, племен и языков, выслушайте царское повеление!

5 Как только услышите звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри, барабана и других музыкальных инструментов — падите ниц и поклонитесь золотому идолу, воздвигнутому царем Навуходоносором.

6 А кто не падет ниц и не поклонится, того тотчас же бросят в пылающую печь».

7 Поэтому, едва заслышав звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри и других музыкальных инструментов, пали на землю эти мужи из всех народов, племен и языков и поклонились золотому идолу, поставленному царем Навуходоносором.

8 Тут же некоторые из халдеев поспешили выйти вперед и гневно стали обвинять евреев.

9 Они обратились к царю Навуходоносору и сказали: «Здравствовать тебе, о царь, вовек!

10 Ты, царь, издал указ, чтобы каждый, кто услышит звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри, барабана и других музыкальных инструментов, пал ниц перед золотым идолом и поклонился ему,

11 а кто не сделает этого, тот будет брошен в пылающую печь.

12 Но евреи, которых ты поставил управлять областью Вавилонской: Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него, — тебя не чтут, о царь. Твоим богам они не служат и золотому идолу, которого ты воздвиг, не поклоняются».

13 В порыве негодования Навуходоносор велел привести Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него и, когда их привели к нему,

14 спросил: «Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него, это правда, что вы не почитаете моих богов и золотому идолу, мною воздвигнутому, не поклоняетесь?

15 Если сейчас вы готовы, услышав звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри, барабана и других музыкальных инструментов, пасть ниц и поклониться идолу, которого я воздвиг, сделайте это; а если не поклонитесь ему — вы тотчас же будете брошены в пылающую печь. И какой бог сможет вас спасти, раз вы в моих руках?»

16 Ответ евреев был таков: «Царь Навуходоносор, не стоит нам говорить тебе что-либо в свою защиту.

17 Если нашему Богу, Которому мы служим, будет угодно спасти нас из пылающей печи и из твоих рук, о царь, — Он спасет нас.

18 Если же нет — да будет тебе известно, царь, что служить твоим богам мы всё равно не станем и золотому идолу, которого ты поставил, не поклонимся».

19 Навуходоносор пришел в ярость, лицо его исказилось от гнева на Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него; он велел растопить печь в семь раз сильнее обычного

20 и приказал самым крепким воинам из своего войска связать юношей и бросить в пылающую печь.

21 Тогда стражники связали тех юношей и в чем были они — в платье, верхней одежде и всем остальном — бросили в пылающую печь.

22 По строжайшему требованию царя печь раскалили так сильно, что воины, бросавшие в нее Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него, погибли, охваченные языками пламени;

23 а трое юношей: Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него — связанными упали в огонь, бушевавший в печи.

24 Потрясенный случившимся, царь Навуходоносор спешно поднялся и, обратившись к своим придворным, спросил: «Разве не троих мы бросили связанными в огонь?» «Именно так, о царь!» — отвечали ему советники.

25 «Но я вижу четверых — вот они ходят свободно среди огня! Целы они и невредимы! А четвертый из них выглядит как Божество».

26 Сказав это, Навуходоносор приблизился к устью пылающей печи и стал звать: «Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него, слуги Бога Всевышнего! Выходите скорее! Идите сюда!» И вышли они из огня.

27 Сразу же собрались вокруг них сатрапы, наместники, градоначальники и царские советники и увидели, что огонь оказался не властен над этими юношами: волосы на их головах не опалены, и одежды целы, и даже гарью от них не пахнет.

28 Воскликнул тогда Навуходоносор: «Благословен Бог Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него! Он послал Своего ангела и спас рабов Своих, которые, на Него уповая, преступили слово царя. Они не пощадили себя, лишь бы не поклоняться идолу и не служить никакому богу, кроме своего Бога!

29 Вот мой указ всем народам, племенам и языкам: всякий, кто похулит Бога Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него, будет четвертован, а дом его — превращен в развалины, ибо нет другого бога, который мог бы так спасать».

30 И восстановил царь Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него в их высоких должностях в области Вавилонской.

31 «От царя Навуходоносора — всем народам, племенам и языкам по всей земле: мира вам и благоденствия!

32 Угодно мне возвестить вам о знамениях и чудесах, которые совершил в моей жизни Всевышний Бог.

33 Сколь величественны Его знамения и сколь могущественны Его чудеса! Царство Его — царство вечное, и владычество Его — из рода в род.

1 NEBUCHADNEZZAR the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits; and he set it up in the plain of Dora, in the province of Babylon.

2 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the generals of the armies, the lords, the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

3 Then all the generals of the armies, the lords, the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together to the dedication of the new image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood up before the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

4 Then a herald cried aloud, and said, To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,

5 That at the hour when you hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the golden image which Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up;

6 And whosoever does not fall down and worship shall at the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

7 Therefore at the hour when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the harp, the sackbut, the psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages fell down and worshipped the golden image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

8 And at that very time certain Chaldeans came near and accused the Jews.

9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever!

10 You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who shall hear the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the harp, the sackbut, the psaltery, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image which you have set up;

11 And whosoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

12 There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded you; they do not serve your god, nor do they worship the golden image which you have set up.

13 Then King Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. And they brought them before the king.

14 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king spoke and said to them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my god nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

15 Now if you are ready, at the time you hear the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the harp, the sackbut, the psaltery, and all kinds of music, to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you do not worship, you shall at once be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is your god that shall deliver you out of my hands?

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, There is no use to answer you concerning this matter;

17 For there is our God whom we serve, he is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

18 Then the king shall know that we will not serve your god nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

19 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was filled with fury, and the countenance of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; and he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times more than it was customarily heated.

20 And he commanded some of the mighty men in the army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

21 Then the mighty men bound them in their trousers, their undergarments, their robes, and their hats, and cast them into the fiery furnace.

22 Because the king's command was hasty and the furnace was exceedingly hot, the flames of the fire killed those who had accused Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

23 But the three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. (And they rose up and walked bound in the midst of the flame, praising God and blessing the LORD.)

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was alarmed and rose up in a great fear, and spoke and said to his princes, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king.

25 The king answered and said, Behold I see men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like that of the Son of God.

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king drew near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the most High God, come forth and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came out of the midst of the fiery furnace.

27 And all the people, generals of the armies, governors, lords, and the great men of the king, being gathered together, saw these men upon whose bodies the fire had no power nor was the hair of their head singed neither were their trousers burned nor had the smell of fire passed on them.

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have rejected the king's word and offered their bodies that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

29 Therefore I make this decree: Every people, nation, and language which speaks blasphemy against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be plundered, because there is no other God that can deliver in this manner.

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

1 Царь Навуходоносор повелел сделать золотого идола высотой в шестьдесят локтей и шириной в шесть локтей и поставить его в долине Дура, в области Вавилонской.

1 NEBUCHADNEZZAR the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits; and he set it up in the plain of Dora, in the province of Babylon.

2 Разослал царь Навуходоносор гонцов, чтобы созвали они сатрапов, градоначальников, наместников, советников, казначеев, судей, чиновников и правителей всех областей: пусть прибудут на освящение идола, которого поставил царь Навуходоносор.

2 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the generals of the armies, the lords, the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

3 И вот собрались сатрапы, градоначальники, наместники, советники, казначеи, судьи, чиновники и правители всех областей на освящение идола, поставленного царем Навуходоносором, и выстроились они перед идолом, которого поставил Навуходоносор.

3 Then all the generals of the armies, the lords, the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together to the dedication of the new image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood up before the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

4 Тогда глашатай возвестил во всеуслышание: «Мужи из всех народов, племен и языков, выслушайте царское повеление!

5 Как только услышите звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри, барабана и других музыкальных инструментов — падите ниц и поклонитесь золотому идолу, воздвигнутому царем Навуходоносором.

5 That at the hour when you hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the golden image which Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up;

6 А кто не падет ниц и не поклонится, того тотчас же бросят в пылающую печь».

6 And whosoever does not fall down and worship shall at the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

7 Поэтому, едва заслышав звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри и других музыкальных инструментов, пали на землю эти мужи из всех народов, племен и языков и поклонились золотому идолу, поставленному царем Навуходоносором.

7 Therefore at the hour when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the harp, the sackbut, the psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages fell down and worshipped the golden image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

8 Тут же некоторые из халдеев поспешили выйти вперед и гневно стали обвинять евреев.

8 And at that very time certain Chaldeans came near and accused the Jews.

9 Они обратились к царю Навуходоносору и сказали: «Здравствовать тебе, о царь, вовек!

9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever!

10 Ты, царь, издал указ, чтобы каждый, кто услышит звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри, барабана и других музыкальных инструментов, пал ниц перед золотым идолом и поклонился ему,

10 You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who shall hear the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the harp, the sackbut, the psaltery, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image which you have set up;

11 а кто не сделает этого, тот будет брошен в пылающую печь.

11 And whosoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

12 Но евреи, которых ты поставил управлять областью Вавилонской: Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него, — тебя не чтут, о царь. Твоим богам они не служат и золотому идолу, которого ты воздвиг, не поклоняются».

12 There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded you; they do not serve your god, nor do they worship the golden image which you have set up.

13 В порыве негодования Навуходоносор велел привести Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него и, когда их привели к нему,

13 Then King Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. And they brought them before the king.

14 спросил: «Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него, это правда, что вы не почитаете моих богов и золотому идолу, мною воздвигнутому, не поклоняетесь?

14 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king spoke and said to them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my god nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

15 Если сейчас вы готовы, услышав звуки рога, свирели, цитры, лиры, псалтыри, барабана и других музыкальных инструментов, пасть ниц и поклониться идолу, которого я воздвиг, сделайте это; а если не поклонитесь ему — вы тотчас же будете брошены в пылающую печь. И какой бог сможет вас спасти, раз вы в моих руках?»

15 Now if you are ready, at the time you hear the sound of the trumpet, the flute, the harp, the sackbut, the psaltery, and all kinds of music, to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you do not worship, you shall at once be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is your god that shall deliver you out of my hands?

16 Ответ евреев был таков: «Царь Навуходоносор, не стоит нам говорить тебе что-либо в свою защиту.

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to King Nebuchadnezzar, There is no use to answer you concerning this matter;

17 Если нашему Богу, Которому мы служим, будет угодно спасти нас из пылающей печи и из твоих рук, о царь, — Он спасет нас.

17 For there is our God whom we serve, he is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

18 Если же нет — да будет тебе известно, царь, что служить твоим богам мы всё равно не станем и золотому идолу, которого ты поставил, не поклонимся».

18 Then the king shall know that we will not serve your god nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

19 Навуходоносор пришел в ярость, лицо его исказилось от гнева на Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него; он велел растопить печь в семь раз сильнее обычного

19 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was filled with fury, and the countenance of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; and he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times more than it was customarily heated.

20 и приказал самым крепким воинам из своего войска связать юношей и бросить в пылающую печь.

20 And he commanded some of the mighty men in the army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

21 Тогда стражники связали тех юношей и в чем были они — в платье, верхней одежде и всем остальном — бросили в пылающую печь.

21 Then the mighty men bound them in their trousers, their undergarments, their robes, and their hats, and cast them into the fiery furnace.

22 По строжайшему требованию царя печь раскалили так сильно, что воины, бросавшие в нее Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него, погибли, охваченные языками пламени;

22 Because the king's command was hasty and the furnace was exceedingly hot, the flames of the fire killed those who had accused Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

23 а трое юношей: Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него — связанными упали в огонь, бушевавший в печи.

23 But the three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. (And they rose up and walked bound in the midst of the flame, praising God and blessing the LORD.)

24 Потрясенный случившимся, царь Навуходоносор спешно поднялся и, обратившись к своим придворным, спросил: «Разве не троих мы бросили связанными в огонь?» «Именно так, о царь!» — отвечали ему советники.

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was alarmed and rose up in a great fear, and spoke and said to his princes, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king.

25 «Но я вижу четверых — вот они ходят свободно среди огня! Целы они и невредимы! А четвертый из них выглядит как Божество».

25 The king answered and said, Behold I see men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like that of the Son of God.

26 Сказав это, Навуходоносор приблизился к устью пылающей печи и стал звать: «Шадрах, Мешах и Авед-Него, слуги Бога Всевышнего! Выходите скорее! Идите сюда!» И вышли они из огня.

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king drew near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the most High God, come forth and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came out of the midst of the fiery furnace.

27 Сразу же собрались вокруг них сатрапы, наместники, градоначальники и царские советники и увидели, что огонь оказался не властен над этими юношами: волосы на их головах не опалены, и одежды целы, и даже гарью от них не пахнет.

28 Воскликнул тогда Навуходоносор: «Благословен Бог Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него! Он послал Своего ангела и спас рабов Своих, которые, на Него уповая, преступили слово царя. Они не пощадили себя, лишь бы не поклоняться идолу и не служить никакому богу, кроме своего Бога!

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have rejected the king's word and offered their bodies that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

29 Вот мой указ всем народам, племенам и языкам: всякий, кто похулит Бога Шадраха, Мешаха и Авед-Него, будет четвертован, а дом его — превращен в развалины, ибо нет другого бога, который мог бы так спасать».
