Книга пророка Даниила

Глава 1

1 На третий год правления Иоакима, царя Иудеи, пошел Навуходоносор, царь вавилонский, в поход на Иерусалим и взял его в осаду.

2 И по воле Господа оказался в руках Навуходоносора царь Иудеи Иоаким и часть священных сосудов из Дома Божьего. По повелению Навуходоносора эти сосуды были увезены в землю Шинар и помещены там в храмовую сокровищницу его бога.

3 Царь также велел Ашпеназу, главному царедворцу, отобрать из народа Израилева, из царского рода и знати, и привести во дворец

4 юношей с приятной внешностью, без каких-либо телесных недостатков, способных ко всяким наукам, обладающих знаниями и гибким умом. Их, годных для службы в царском дворце, необходимо было обучить языку и письму вавилонскому.

5 Царь распорядился, чтобы каждый день им подавали яства с царского стола и такое же вино, какое пил он сам. Обучать их должны были три года, а затем их ожидала царская служба.

6 Среди них были и Даниил, Анания, Мисаил и Азария — все они были из рода Иудина.

7 Главный царедворец дал им другие имена: Даниила он назвал Бельтешаццаром, Ананию — Шадрахом, Мисаила — Мешахом и Азарию — Авед-Него.

8 Даниил решил не оскверняться ни яствами со стола царского, ни вином, какое пил царь. И он попросил главного царедворца избавить его от того, что могло бы его осквернить.

9 Бог даровал Даниилу благосклонность главного царедворца,

10 и тот сказал Даниилу: «Я боюсь государя моего, царя, и он сам назначил, что тебе и твоим товарищам есть и что пить. А если он заметит, что вы, в отличие от других юношей — ваших сверстников, выглядите худыми и нездоровыми? Не придется ли мне отвечать головой за вас перед царем?»

11 Тогда Даниил попросил надзирателя, которого главный царедворец приставил к нему и его товарищам Анании, Мисаилу и Азарии:

12 «Прошу тебя, проверь, что станет с нами, рабами твоими, через десять дней, в течение которых мы будем есть только овощи и пить одну воду,

13 а затем сравни, как будем выглядеть мы и как — те юноши, что едят со стола царского. И в зависимости от того, что ты сам увидишь, поступай с нами, рабами твоими, как сочтешь нужным».

14 Надзиратель согласился с Даниилом и испытывал юношей следующие десять дней.

15 Когда десять дней прошли, Даниил и его товарищи выглядели лучше и здоровее, чем те юноши, которые ели царские яства.

16 После этого надзиратель стал убирать со стола предназначенные для них яства и вино и давал им овощи.

17 Этим четырем молодым людям Бог даровал знание и понимание всякой письменности, особую мудрость, а Даниилу — еще и способность постигать смысл видений и снов.

18 Когда срок, отведенный царем для обучения, истек, главный царедворец представил всех юношей Навуходоносору.

19 Царь поговорил с юношами и не нашел среди них никого, кто мог бы сравниться с Даниилом, Ананией, Мисаилом и Азарией. Потому они и были назначены на царскую службу,

20 и о каком бы деле, требующем мудрого суждения, царь ни спрашивал их, он находил, что они в десять раз превосходят всех магов и заклинателей, какие только были в его царстве.

21 И был Даниил при дворе до первого года царя Кира.

Chapter 1

1 IN the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2 And the LORD delivered it into his hand, together with Jehoiakim king of Judah and the vessels of the house of the LORD, which he carried away into the land of Sinar, to the house of his idol; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his idol.

3 And the king spoke to Ashpaz the chief of the eunuchs, that he should bring some of the children of Israel, of the royal families, and of the Parthians;

4 Boys in whom was no blemish, who were handsome in their appearance and skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge and understanding of science, those who were able to stand in the king's palace to minister to him, and whom they might teach the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.

5 And the king assigned them a daily portion of the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, to nourish them for three years, so that afterward they might stand before the king.

6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah;

7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names; Daniel he named Belteshazzar; and Hananiah, Shadrach; and Mishael, Meshach; and Azariah, Abednego.

8 But Daniel decided in his heart that he would not eat of the king's delicacies nor drink of the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he would not force him to eat.

9 Now God gave Daniel grace and mercy in the presence of the chief of the eunuchs.

10 And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has given orders concerning your food and concerning your drink; should he see your faces worse looking than the faces of the boys of your own age, then the king will have me beheaded.

11 Then Daniel said to Menezar, whom the chief of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

12 Test your servants for ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.

13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the boys who eat of the king's delicacies be examined; and as you see, deal with your servants.

14 So he consented to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.

15 And at the end of ten days he saw that their countenances were much fairer and fatter than those of all the boys who ate of the king's delicacies.

16 Thus Menezar took away the portion of their food and the wine that they should drink, and gave them vegetables to eat and water to drink.

17 As for these four boys, God gave them knowledge and understanding in every book and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18 Now when the days that the king had commanded were over, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before King Nebuchadnezzar.

19 And the king spoke with them; and he found none among all of them like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they stood before the king.

20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding that the king inquired of them he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in his whole realm.

21 And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.

1 IN the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2 И по воле Господа оказался в руках Навуходоносора царь Иудеи Иоаким и часть священных сосудов из Дома Божьего. По повелению Навуходоносора эти сосуды были увезены в землю Шинар и помещены там в храмовую сокровищницу его бога.

2 And the LORD delivered it into his hand, together with Jehoiakim king of Judah and the vessels of the house of the LORD, which he carried away into the land of Sinar, to the house of his idol; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his idol.

3 Царь также велел Ашпеназу, главному царедворцу, отобрать из народа Израилева, из царского рода и знати, и привести во дворец

3 And the king spoke to Ashpaz the chief of the eunuchs, that he should bring some of the children of Israel, of the royal families, and of the Parthians;

4 юношей с приятной внешностью, без каких-либо телесных недостатков, способных ко всяким наукам, обладающих знаниями и гибким умом. Их, годных для службы в царском дворце, необходимо было обучить языку и письму вавилонскому.

4 Boys in whom was no blemish, who were handsome in their appearance and skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge and understanding of science, those who were able to stand in the king's palace to minister to him, and whom they might teach the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.

5 Царь распорядился, чтобы каждый день им подавали яства с царского стола и такое же вино, какое пил он сам. Обучать их должны были три года, а затем их ожидала царская служба.

5 And the king assigned them a daily portion of the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, to nourish them for three years, so that afterward they might stand before the king.

6 Среди них были и Даниил, Анания, Мисаил и Азария — все они были из рода Иудина.

6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah;

7 Главный царедворец дал им другие имена: Даниила он назвал Бельтешаццаром, Ананию — Шадрахом, Мисаила — Мешахом и Азарию — Авед-Него.

7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names; Daniel he named Belteshazzar; and Hananiah, Shadrach; and Mishael, Meshach; and Azariah, Abednego.

8 Даниил решил не оскверняться ни яствами со стола царского, ни вином, какое пил царь. И он попросил главного царедворца избавить его от того, что могло бы его осквернить.

8 But Daniel decided in his heart that he would not eat of the king's delicacies nor drink of the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he would not force him to eat.

9 Бог даровал Даниилу благосклонность главного царедворца,

9 Now God gave Daniel grace and mercy in the presence of the chief of the eunuchs.

10 и тот сказал Даниилу: «Я боюсь государя моего, царя, и он сам назначил, что тебе и твоим товарищам есть и что пить. А если он заметит, что вы, в отличие от других юношей — ваших сверстников, выглядите худыми и нездоровыми? Не придется ли мне отвечать головой за вас перед царем?»

10 And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has given orders concerning your food and concerning your drink; should he see your faces worse looking than the faces of the boys of your own age, then the king will have me beheaded.

11 Тогда Даниил попросил надзирателя, которого главный царедворец приставил к нему и его товарищам Анании, Мисаилу и Азарии:

11 Then Daniel said to Menezar, whom the chief of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

12 «Прошу тебя, проверь, что станет с нами, рабами твоими, через десять дней, в течение которых мы будем есть только овощи и пить одну воду,

12 Test your servants for ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.

13 а затем сравни, как будем выглядеть мы и как — те юноши, что едят со стола царского. И в зависимости от того, что ты сам увидишь, поступай с нами, рабами твоими, как сочтешь нужным».

13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the boys who eat of the king's delicacies be examined; and as you see, deal with your servants.

14 Надзиратель согласился с Даниилом и испытывал юношей следующие десять дней.

14 So he consented to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.

15 Когда десять дней прошли, Даниил и его товарищи выглядели лучше и здоровее, чем те юноши, которые ели царские яства.

15 And at the end of ten days he saw that their countenances were much fairer and fatter than those of all the boys who ate of the king's delicacies.

16 После этого надзиратель стал убирать со стола предназначенные для них яства и вино и давал им овощи.

16 Thus Menezar took away the portion of their food and the wine that they should drink, and gave them vegetables to eat and water to drink.

17 Этим четырем молодым людям Бог даровал знание и понимание всякой письменности, особую мудрость, а Даниилу — еще и способность постигать смысл видений и снов.

17 As for these four boys, God gave them knowledge and understanding in every book and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18 Когда срок, отведенный царем для обучения, истек, главный царедворец представил всех юношей Навуходоносору.

18 Now when the days that the king had commanded were over, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before King Nebuchadnezzar.

19 Царь поговорил с юношами и не нашел среди них никого, кто мог бы сравниться с Даниилом, Ананией, Мисаилом и Азарией. Потому они и были назначены на царскую службу,

19 And the king spoke with them; and he found none among all of them like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they stood before the king.

20 и о каком бы деле, требующем мудрого суждения, царь ни спрашивал их, он находил, что они в десять раз превосходят всех магов и заклинателей, какие только были в его царстве.

20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding that the king inquired of them he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in his whole realm.

21 И был Даниил при дворе до первого года царя Кира.

21 And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.
