Книга пророка Даниила

Глава 1

1 В третий год царствования Иоакима, царя Иудейского, приступил Невухаднецар, вавилонский царь, к Иерусалиму, и обложил его.

2 И предал Господь в руки ему Иоакима, царя иудейского, и часть сосудов дома Божия; и он отправил их в землю сеннаарскую, в дом богов своих; и внес сии сосуды в сокровищницу богов своих.

3 И сказал царь Ашпеназу, начальнику евнухов своих, чтоб он взял из сынов израилевых, и притом из царского рода и из вельможеского, отроков,

4 На которых не было бы никакого телесного порока, красивых видом, и понятливым на всякую мудрость, и любознательных, и разумных, и способных предстоять в чертогах царя, и чтоб он учил их наукам и языку халдейскому.

5 И определил им царь на всякий день царское кушанье и вино со стола своего, и велел воспитывать их три года, по истечении которых они должны были предстать пред царя.

6 И были между ними из сынов Иуды: Даниил, Анания, Мисаил и Азария.

7 И дал им начальник евнухов другие имена; и Даниила наименовал Велтешацаром, и Ананию Шадрахом, и Мисаила Мешахом, и Азарию Аведнегом.

8 И положил Даниил в сердце своем не оскверняться царским кушаньем, и вином со стола его; и просил начальника евнухов, чтобы не доводил его до осквернения.

9 И дал Бог Даниилу снискать любовь и милость у начальника евнухов.

10 И сказал начальник евнухов Даниилу: я боюсь государя моего, царя, который сам назначил, что вам есть, и что вам пить. Ибо для чего ему видеть, что лица ваши хуже, нежели у других отроков вашего возраста? и вы хотите сделать голову мою виновною пред царем?

11 И сказал Даниил виночерпию, которого начальник евнухов приставил к Даниилу, Анании, Мисаилу и Азарии:

12 Сделай над рабами твоими опыт в течение дней десяти; пусть дают нам что-нибудь из растений в пищу, а для питья воду;

13 И тогда посмотри на лица наши, и на лица тех отроков, которые будут есть кушанье царское; и что усмотришь, так и поступи с рабами твоими.

14 Он послушал их в сем случае, и делал над ними опыт дней десять.

15 По истечении десяти дней оказалось, что лица их были лучше, и телом они были полнее всех отроков, которые ели кушанье царское.

16 С того времени виночерпий отложил яства их и вино, назначенное им для питья, и давал им пищу из растений.

17 И дал Бог четырем сим отрокам разум и понятливость на всякие книги и учения мудрости; а Даниил сверх того разумел всякие видения и сны.

18 По прошествии времени, в которое назначил царь представить их, начальник евнухов привел их к Невухаднецару.

19 Царь разговаривал с ними, и из всех их не нашлось равных Даниилу, Анании, Мисаилу и Азарии; и стали предстоять пред царем.

20 И во всяком деле, требующем мудрости рассуждения, что бы ни спросил у них царь, он находил их вдесятеро умнее всех тайноведцев и магов во всем царстве своем.

21 Даниил дожил до первого года царя Кира.

Chapter 1

1 IN the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2 And the LORD delivered it into his hand, together with Jehoiakim king of Judah and the vessels of the house of the LORD, which he carried away into the land of Sinar, to the house of his idol; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his idol.

3 And the king spoke to Ashpaz the chief of the eunuchs, that he should bring some of the children of Israel, of the royal families, and of the Parthians;

4 Boys in whom was no blemish, who were handsome in their appearance and skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge and understanding of science, those who were able to stand in the king's palace to minister to him, and whom they might teach the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.

5 And the king assigned them a daily portion of the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, to nourish them for three years, so that afterward they might stand before the king.

6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah;

7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names; Daniel he named Belteshazzar; and Hananiah, Shadrach; and Mishael, Meshach; and Azariah, Abednego.

8 But Daniel decided in his heart that he would not eat of the king's delicacies nor drink of the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he would not force him to eat.

9 Now God gave Daniel grace and mercy in the presence of the chief of the eunuchs.

10 And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has given orders concerning your food and concerning your drink; should he see your faces worse looking than the faces of the boys of your own age, then the king will have me beheaded.

11 Then Daniel said to Menezar, whom the chief of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

12 Test your servants for ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.

13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the boys who eat of the king's delicacies be examined; and as you see, deal with your servants.

14 So he consented to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.

15 And at the end of ten days he saw that their countenances were much fairer and fatter than those of all the boys who ate of the king's delicacies.

16 Thus Menezar took away the portion of their food and the wine that they should drink, and gave them vegetables to eat and water to drink.

17 As for these four boys, God gave them knowledge and understanding in every book and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18 Now when the days that the king had commanded were over, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before King Nebuchadnezzar.

19 And the king spoke with them; and he found none among all of them like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they stood before the king.

20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding that the king inquired of them he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in his whole realm.

21 And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.

1 IN the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2 И предал Господь в руки ему Иоакима, царя иудейского, и часть сосудов дома Божия; и он отправил их в землю сеннаарскую, в дом богов своих; и внес сии сосуды в сокровищницу богов своих.

2 And the LORD delivered it into his hand, together with Jehoiakim king of Judah and the vessels of the house of the LORD, which he carried away into the land of Sinar, to the house of his idol; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his idol.

3 И сказал царь Ашпеназу, начальнику евнухов своих, чтоб он взял из сынов израилевых, и притом из царского рода и из вельможеского, отроков,

3 And the king spoke to Ashpaz the chief of the eunuchs, that he should bring some of the children of Israel, of the royal families, and of the Parthians;

4 На которых не было бы никакого телесного порока, красивых видом, и понятливым на всякую мудрость, и любознательных, и разумных, и способных предстоять в чертогах царя, и чтоб он учил их наукам и языку халдейскому.

4 Boys in whom was no blemish, who were handsome in their appearance and skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge and understanding of science, those who were able to stand in the king's palace to minister to him, and whom they might teach the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.

5 И определил им царь на всякий день царское кушанье и вино со стола своего, и велел воспитывать их три года, по истечении которых они должны были предстать пред царя.

5 And the king assigned them a daily portion of the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, to nourish them for three years, so that afterward they might stand before the king.

6 И были между ними из сынов Иуды: Даниил, Анания, Мисаил и Азария.

6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah;

7 И дал им начальник евнухов другие имена; и Даниила наименовал Велтешацаром, и Ананию Шадрахом, и Мисаила Мешахом, и Азарию Аведнегом.

7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names; Daniel he named Belteshazzar; and Hananiah, Shadrach; and Mishael, Meshach; and Azariah, Abednego.

8 И положил Даниил в сердце своем не оскверняться царским кушаньем, и вином со стола его; и просил начальника евнухов, чтобы не доводил его до осквернения.

8 But Daniel decided in his heart that he would not eat of the king's delicacies nor drink of the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he would not force him to eat.

9 И дал Бог Даниилу снискать любовь и милость у начальника евнухов.

9 Now God gave Daniel grace and mercy in the presence of the chief of the eunuchs.

10 И сказал начальник евнухов Даниилу: я боюсь государя моего, царя, который сам назначил, что вам есть, и что вам пить. Ибо для чего ему видеть, что лица ваши хуже, нежели у других отроков вашего возраста? и вы хотите сделать голову мою виновною пред царем?

10 And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has given orders concerning your food and concerning your drink; should he see your faces worse looking than the faces of the boys of your own age, then the king will have me beheaded.

11 И сказал Даниил виночерпию, которого начальник евнухов приставил к Даниилу, Анании, Мисаилу и Азарии:

11 Then Daniel said to Menezar, whom the chief of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

12 Сделай над рабами твоими опыт в течение дней десяти; пусть дают нам что-нибудь из растений в пищу, а для питья воду;

12 Test your servants for ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.

13 И тогда посмотри на лица наши, и на лица тех отроков, которые будут есть кушанье царское; и что усмотришь, так и поступи с рабами твоими.

13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the boys who eat of the king's delicacies be examined; and as you see, deal with your servants.

14 Он послушал их в сем случае, и делал над ними опыт дней десять.

14 So he consented to them in this matter and tested them for ten days.

15 По истечении десяти дней оказалось, что лица их были лучше, и телом они были полнее всех отроков, которые ели кушанье царское.

15 And at the end of ten days he saw that their countenances were much fairer and fatter than those of all the boys who ate of the king's delicacies.

16 С того времени виночерпий отложил яства их и вино, назначенное им для питья, и давал им пищу из растений.

16 Thus Menezar took away the portion of their food and the wine that they should drink, and gave them vegetables to eat and water to drink.

17 И дал Бог четырем сим отрокам разум и понятливость на всякие книги и учения мудрости; а Даниил сверх того разумел всякие видения и сны.

17 As for these four boys, God gave them knowledge and understanding in every book and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18 По прошествии времени, в которое назначил царь представить их, начальник евнухов привел их к Невухаднецару.

18 Now when the days that the king had commanded were over, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before King Nebuchadnezzar.

19 Царь разговаривал с ними, и из всех их не нашлось равных Даниилу, Анании, Мисаилу и Азарии; и стали предстоять пред царем.

19 And the king spoke with them; and he found none among all of them like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they stood before the king.

20 И во всяком деле, требующем мудрости рассуждения, что бы ни спросил у них царь, он находил их вдесятеро умнее всех тайноведцев и магов во всем царстве своем.

20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding that the king inquired of them he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in his whole realm.

21 Даниил дожил до первого года царя Кира.

21 And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.
