19 Лия снова забеременела и родила Иакову шестого сына.
20 «Бог послал мне чудесный дар, — сказала Лия. — Теперь-то уж Иаков, наверняка, примет меня, так как я дала ему шестерых сыновей». И она назвала сына Завулоном.

31 «Что же мне дать тебе?» — спросил Лаван. Но Иаков ответил: «Мне от тебя ничего не нужно. Если только сделаешь, что я хочу, то я опять буду пасти твоих овец.
32 Разреши мне сегодня пройти по твоим стадам и забрать всех полосатых или пятнистых ягнят. И ещё разреши мне забрать всех чёрных козлят и всех полосатых или пятнистых коз. Это и будет мне платой.
33 В будущем ты сможешь легко убедиться в моей честности: придёшь посмотреть на мои стада, и если у меня будет какой-то козёл без полос или без пятен или какая-то нечёрная овца, то ты будешь знать, что я украл её у тебя».
34 Лаван ответил: «Я согласен, сделаем, как ты просишь».
35 Однако в тот же день Лаван спрятал всех пятнистых козлов, всех пятнистых коз, а также и всех чёрных овец и велел своим сыновьям стеречь этих животных.
36 Сыновья взяли всех пятнистых животных и перегнали их на другое место. Они шли три дня, Иаков же остался пасти остальные стада.
37 Тогда Иаков нарезал ветки с тополей и миндальных деревьев и в некоторых местах содрал с них кору, так что на ветках остались белые полосы.
38 Он клал эти ветки перед скотом в тех местах, где были водопои. Когда животные приходили на водопой, то там же и случались друг с другом.
39 И когда козы случались перед этими ветками, то приносили полосатый, пятнистый или чёрный приплод.
40 Иаков отделял пятнистых и чёрных коз от остальных животных в стаде и держал этот скот отдельно от скота Лавана.
41 Всякий раз, когда в стаде появлялся крепкий скот, Иаков клал у них перед глазами ветки возле того места, где они пили воду, и скот случался перед этими ветками.
42 Когда же скот был слабее, Иаков не клал перед ним ветки. И вот приплод от более слабого скота оставался у Лавана, а приплод от более крепкого скота доставался Иакову.
43 И стал Иаков очень богат, и были у него большие стада, множество слуг, верблюдов и ослов.

38 Он клал эти ветки перед скотом в тех местах, где были водопои. Когда животные приходили на водопой, то там же и случались друг с другом.
38 And he set3322853 the rods4731 which834 he had peeled6478 before5227 the flocks6629 in the gutters7298 in the watering4325 troughs8268 when834 the flocks6629 came935 to drink,8354 that they should conceive3179 when they came935 to drink.8354
39 И когда козы случались перед этими ветками, то приносили полосатый, пятнистый или чёрный приплод.
39 And the flocks6629 conceived3179 before413 the rods,4731 and brought forth3205 cattle6629 ringstreaked,6124 speckled,5348 and spotted.2921
40 Иаков отделял пятнистых и чёрных коз от остальных животных в стаде и держал этот скот отдельно от скота Лавана.
40 And Jacob3290 did separate6504 the lambs,3775 and set5414 the faces6440 of the flocks6629 toward413 the ringstreaked,6124 and all3605 the brown2345 in the flock6629 of Laban;3837 and he put7896 his own flocks5739 by themselves,905 and put7896 them not3808 unto5921 Laban's3837 cattle.6629
41 Всякий раз, когда в стаде появлялся крепкий скот, Иаков клал у них перед глазами ветки возле того места, где они пили воду, и скот случался перед этими ветками.
41 And it came to pass,1961 whensoever3605 the stronger7194 cattle6629 did conceive,3179 that Jacob3290 laid7760853 the rods4731 before the eyes5869 of the cattle6629 in the gutters,7298 that they might conceive3179 among the rods.4731
42 Когда же скот был слабее, Иаков не клал перед ним ветки. И вот приплод от более слабого скота оставался у Лавана, а приплод от более крепкого скота доставался Иакову.
42 But when the cattle6629 were feeble,5848 he put7760them not3808 in: so the feebler5848 were1961 Laban's,3837 and the stronger7194 Jacob's.3290
43 И стал Иаков очень богат, и были у него большие стада, множество слуг, верблюдов и ослов.
