1 爾居撒馬利亞山，若巴山之牛，虐遇貧窮，挾制困乏，索酒縱飲者，今聽我言， |
|
2 耶和華至聖之主，指己而誓云，將來敵必以鈎取爾，以魚鈎取爾之子，驅爾於宮闕， |
|
3 爾由城竇而逃，向前遄征，我耶和華已言之矣。 |
|
4 耶和華曰，以色列族爾往伯特利常干罪戾，在吉甲履蹈愆尤，仍獻日祭，三年一次，十分取一，獻酬恩之祭與酵，樂輸之物，炫示於衆，蓋爾以此爲悅。 |

6 耶和華又曰，我使爾邑中，糈糧匱乏，齒間絕食，爾尚不歸誠於我， |
|
7 耶和華又曰，秋前三月，我不降雨，惟雨一邑，他邑不雨，惟潤一田，他田不潤，遂致荒蕪， |
|
8 二三邑之民，遊至此邑，思欲飲水，不遂所求，爾尚不歸誠於我。 |
|
9 耶和華又曰，我使風暴五穀，細弱特甚，爾圃中之菜，園中之葡萄，無花果，橄欖樹，爲蝗蟲食盡，爾尚不歸誠於我。 |
|
10 耶和華又曰，我使瘟疫，傳染遍境，與埃及無異，殺爾丁男，擄爾馬匹，爾之營壘，腥羶撲鼻，爾尚不歸誠於我。 |
|
11 耶和華又曰，昔我上帝傾圮所多馬蛾摩拉，爾中數人，亦遭隕越，其餘得救，如脫於火，爾尚不歸誠於我。 |
|
12 故我必降爾以罰，以色列族乎，爾之上帝將臨汝，必預爲備，思何以當之， |
|
13 昔我造山作風，使晝往夜來，陟諸崇坵，推測人意，萬有之主耶和華我名也。 |
AmosChapter 4 |
|
1 HEAR this word, O vicious men of Bashan, who are in the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to their lords, Bring, and let us drink: |
|
2 The LORD God has sworn by his holiness that, behold, the days are coming upon you when they shall take you away with weapons and the last of you shall be devoured. |
|
3 And every woman shall run to the breach which is before her; and they shall be cast away to the mountain of Armenia, says the LORD. |
|
4 Come to Beth-el and transgress; go to Gilgal and multiply transgressions; and bring your sacrifices every morning and your tithes every third day, |
|
5 And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leavened bread, and vow your vows and fulfill them; for thus you have loved to do, O children of Israel, says the LORD God. |
|
6 And I also have given you shortage of food in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places; yet you have not returned to me, says the LORD. |
|
7 And I also have withheld the rain from you when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city; one part was rained upon, and the other part on which it did not rain withered. |
|
8 So the inhabitants of two or three cities gathered into one city to drink water; but they were not satisfied; yet you returned not to me, says the LORD. |
|
9 I have smitten you with blight and mildew, and with hail stones; and many of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees were eaten by the creeping locust; and yet you did not return to me, says the LORD. |
|
10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt; I slew your young men with the sword, together with the spoil of your horses; and I made the stench of your camps to come up to your nostrils; yet you did not return to me, says the LORD. |
|
11 I have overthrown you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you have become like a firebrand which is plucked out of the burning; yet you did not return to me, says the LORD. |
|
12 Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel, at the end; and because I will do this to you, prepare, O Israel, that you might call to your God. |
|
13 For lo, he who creates the wind and creates the mountains and declares to man what is his glory, who makes the morning darkness and walks upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, the God of hosts, is his name. |
