2 And the Lord136 gave5414 Jehoiakim3079 king4428 of Judah3063 into his hand,3027 with part7117 of the vessels3627 of the house1004 of God:430 which he carried935 into the land776 of Shinar8152 to the house1004 of his god;430 and he brought935 the vessels3627 into the treasure214 house1004 of his god.430

2 Und935 der HErr136 übergab ihm3027 Jojakim3079, den König4428 Judas, und1004 etliche7117 Gefäße3627 aus dem Hause1004 Gottes430; die ließ er führen935 ins Land776 Sinear8152, in seines Gottes430 Haus1004, und tat5414 die Gefäße3627 in seines Gottes430 Schatzkasten.

3 And the king4428 spoke559 to Ashpenaz828 the master7227 of his eunuchs,5631 that he should bring935 certain of the children1121 of Israel,3478 and of the king's4410 seed,2233 and of the princes;6579

7 To whom1992 the prince8269 of the eunuchs5631 gave7760 names:8034 for he gave7760 to Daniel1840 the name8034 of Belteshazzar;1095 and to Hananiah,2608 of Shadrach;7714 and to Mishael,4332 of Meshach;4335 and to Azariah,5838 of Abednego.5664

8 But Daniel1840 purposed7760 in his heart3820 that he would not defile1351 himself with the portion6598 of the king's4428 meat,6598 nor with the wine3196 which he drank:4960 therefore he requested1245 of the prince8269 of the eunuchs5631 that he might not defile1351 himself.

8 Aber Daniel1840 setzte7760 ihm vor in seinem Herzen3820, daß er sich mit des Königs4428 Speise6598 und mit dem Wein3196, den er selbst trank4960, nicht verunreinigen wollte1351, und bat1245 den obersten8269 Kämmerer5631, daß er sich nicht müßte verunreinigen.

9 Now God430 had brought5414 Daniel1840 into favor2617 and tender love with the prince8269 of the eunuchs.5631

9 Und GOtt430 gab5414 Daniel1840, daß ihm6440 der oberste8269 Kämmerer5631 günstig7356 und gnädig2617 ward.

10 And the prince8269 of the eunuchs5631 said559 to Daniel,1840 I fear3373 my lord113 the king,4428 who834 has appointed4487 your meat3978 and your drink:4960 for why4100 should he see7200 your faces6440 worse2196 liking than4480 the children3206 which834 are of your sort?1524 then shall you make me endanger2325 my head7218 to the king.4428

10 Derselbe8269 sprach559 zu ihm1840: Ich fürchte mich3373 vor meinem Herrn113, dem Könige4428, der euch eure Speise3978 und Trank4960 verschaffet hat4487; wo er würde sehen7200, daß eure Angesichte jämmerlicher2196 wären denn der andern Knaben3206 eures7218 Alters1524, so brächtet ihr mich6440 bei dem Könige4428 um mein Leben2325.

11 Then said559 Daniel1840 to Melzar,4453 whom834 the prince8269 of the eunuchs5631 had set4487 over5921 Daniel,1840 Hananiah,2608 Mishael,4332 and Azariah,5838

11 Da sprach559 Daniel1840 zu Melzar, welchem der oberste8269 Kämmerer5631 Daniel1840, Hananja2608, Misael4332 und Asarja5838 befohlen hatte4487:

12 Prove5254 your servants,5650 I beseech4994 you, ten6235 days;3117 and let them give5414 us vegetables2235 to eat,398 and water4325 to drink.8354

12 Versuch es doch mit deinen Knechten5650 zehn6235 Tage3117 und laß uns geben5414 Gemüse2235 zu essen398 und Wasser4325 zu trinken8354!

13 Then let our countenances4758 be looked7200 on before6440 you, and the countenance4758 of the children3206 that eat398 of the portion6598 of the king's4428 meat:6598 and as you see,7200 deal6213 with your servants.5650

13 Und4758 laß dann vor6440 dir unsere Gestalt4758 und der Knaben3206, so von des Königs4428 Speise6598 essen398, besehen; und danach du7200 sehen7200 wirst, danach schaffe6213 mit deinen Knechten5650.

14 So he consented8085 to them in this2088 matter,1697 and proved5254 them ten6235 days.3117

14 Und er gehorchte8085 ihnen darin und versuchte5254 es1697 mit ihnen zehn6235 Tage3117.

15 And at the end7117 of ten6235 days3117 their countenances4758 appeared7200 fairer2896 and fatter1277 in flesh1320 than4480 all3605 the children3206 which did eat398 the portion6598 of the king's4428 meat.6598

15 Und4758 nach7117 den zehn6235 Tagen3117 waren7200 sie schöner2896 und baß bei Leibe1277 denn alle1320 Knaben3206, so von des Königs4428 Speise6598 aßen398.

16 Thus Melzar4453 took5375 away the portion6598 of their meat,6598 and the wine3196 that they should drink;4960 and gave5414 them vegetables.2235

16 Da tat5414 Melzar ihre verordnete Speise6598 und Trank4960 weg und gab5375 ihnen Gemüse2235.

17 As for these428 four702 children,3206 God430 gave5414 them knowledge4093 and skill7919 in all3605 learning5612 and wisdom:2451 and Daniel1840 had understanding995 in all3605 visions2377 and dreams.2472

17 Aber der GOtt430 dieser vier702 gab5414 ihnen Kunst4093 und5612 Verstand995 in allerlei Schrift und Weisheit7919; Daniel1840 aber gab er Verstand in allen Gesichten2377 und Träumen2472.

18 Now at the end7117 of the days3117 that the king4428 had said559 he should bring935 them in, then the prince8269 of the eunuchs5631 brought935 them in before6440 Nebuchadnezzar.5019

18 Und7117 da die Zeit3117 um war935, die der König4428 bestimmt hatte, daß sie559 sollten hineingebracht werden, brachte935 sie der oberste8269 Kämmerer5631 hinein vor6440 Nebukadnezar5019.

19 And the king4428 communed1696 with them; and among them all3605 was found4672 none3808 like Daniel,1840 Hananiah,2608 Mishael,4332 and Azariah:5838 therefore stood5975 they before6440 the king.4428
|
19 Und5975 der König4428 redete1696 mit ihnen, und ward4672 unter6440 allen niemand erfunden, der Daniel1840, Hananja2608, Misael4332 und Asarja5838 gleich wäre. Und sie wurden des Königs4428 Diener.

20 And in all3605 matters1697 of wisdom2451 and understanding,998 that the king4428 inquired1245 of them, he found4672 them ten6235 times better3027 than5921 all3605 the magicians2748 and astrologers825 that were in all3605 his realm.4438

20 Und der König4428 fand4672 sie1245 in allen Sachen, die er sie3027 fragte1697, zehnmal6235 klüger998 und verständiger2451 denn alle Sternseher825 und Weisen2748 in seinem ganzen Reich4438.

21 And Daniel1840 continued1961 even to the first259 year8141 of king4428 Cyrus.3566
