2 Behold,2009 I have made5414 you small6996 among the heathen:1471 you are greatly3966 despised.959
3 The pride2087 of your heart3820 has deceived5377 you, you that dwell7931 in the clefts2288 of the rock,5553 whose habitation3427 is high;4791 that said559 in his heart,3820 Who4310 shall bring3381 me down3381 to the ground?776

7 All3605 the men582 of your confederacy1285 have brought7971 you even to the border:1366 the men582 that were at peace7965 with you have deceived5377 you, and prevailed3201 against you; that they eat your bread3899 have laid7760 a wound4204 under8478 you: there is none369 understanding8394 in him.
8 Shall I not in that day,3117 said5002 the LORD,3068 even destroy6 the wise2450 men out of Edom,123 and understanding8394 out of the mount2022 of Esau?6215

12 But you should not have looked7200 on the day3117 of your brother251 in the day3117 that he became a stranger;5235 neither408 should you have rejoiced8055 over the children1121 of Judah3063 in the day3117 of their destruction;6 neither408 should you have spoken6310 proudly1431 in the day3117 of distress.6869
13 You should not have entered935 into the gate8179 of my people5971 in the day3117 of their calamity;343 yes,1571 you should not have looked7200 on their affliction7451 in the day3117 of their calamity,343 nor408 have laid7971 hands on their substance2428 in the day3117 of their calamity;343
14 Neither408 should you have stood5975 in the crossway,6563 to cut3772 off those of his that did escape;6412 neither408 should you have delivered5462 up those of his that did remain8300 in the day3117 of distress.6869
15 For the day3117 of the LORD3068 is near7138 on all3605 the heathen:1471 as you have done,6213 it shall be done6213 to you: your reward1576 shall return7725 on your own head.7218
16 For as you have drunk8354 on my holy6944 mountain,2022 so shall all3605 the heathen1471 drink8354 continually,8548 yes, they shall drink,8354 and they shall swallow3886 down, and they shall be as though they had not been.1961
17 But on mount2022 Zion6726 shall be deliverance,6413 and there shall be holiness;6944 and the house1004 of Jacob3290 shall possess3423 their possessions.4180
18 And the house1004 of Jacob3290 shall be a fire,784 and the house1004 of Joseph3130 a flame,3852 and the house1004 of Esau6215 for stubble,7179 and they shall kindle1814 in them, and devour398 them; and there shall not be any remaining8300 of the house1004 of Esau;6215 for the LORD3068 has spoken1696 it.
19 And they of the south5045 shall possess3423 the mount2022 of Esau;6215 and they of the plain8219 the Philistines:6430 and they shall possess3423 the fields7704 of Ephraim,669 and the fields7704 of Samaria:8111 and Benjamin1144 shall possess Gilead.1568
20 And the captivity1546 of this2088 host2426 of the children1121 of Israel3478 shall possess that of the Canaanites,3669 even to Zarephath;6886 and the captivity1546 of Jerusalem,3389 which834 is in Sepharad,5614 shall possess3423 the cities5892 of the south.5045
21 And saviors3467 shall come5927 up on mount2022 Zion6726 to judge8199 the mount2022 of Esau;6215 and the kingdom4410 shall be the LORD's.3068

1 Видение, которое было к пророку Авдию.Так говорит Владыка Вечный об Эдоме. Мы услышали весть от Вечного, что отправлен посланник к народам, чтобы объявить им:«Вставайте! Выступим войной против Эдома!»
2 – Эдом, Я сделаю тебя малым среди народов, ты будешь в большом презрении.
3 Гордость сердца твоего обольстила тебя. Ты живёшь в расщелинах скал, . высоко строишь свой доми говоришь в сердце своём: «Кто низвергнет меня на землю?»
4 Но даже если ты, подобно орлу, поднимешься ввысь и устроишь гнездо своё среди звёзд, то и оттуда Я низвергну тебя, – возвещает Вечный. –
5 Если воры и грабители в ночи придут к тебе, разве они не украдут только то, что пожелают?Если проникнут к тебе собиратели винограда, разве не оставят они несколько виноградин?Но ты будешь разрушен полностью.
6 Как всё будет обыскано у Есава, . будут ограблены его тайники!
7 Все твои союзники вытеснят тебя до границы, все твои друзья обманут и одолеют тебя.Те, кто ест твой хлеб, поставят на тебя западни, но ты не догадаешься.
8 В тот день, – возвещает Вечный, – Я истреблю мудрых в Эдоме и благоразумных на горе Есава.
9 Твои воины, Теман, . будут трепетать от страха, и все на горе Есава будут истреблены.
10 Из-за насилия над своим братом Якубом будешь покрыт позором, будешь уничтожен навсегда.
11 Ты стоял в стороне в тот день, когда чужие народы уносили его богатства,когда иноземцы входили в его ворота и бросали жребий об Иерусалиме. Ты был как один из них!
12 Тебе не следовало смотреть с презрением на своего брата в день его несчастья,не стоило торжествовать над народом Иудеи в день его гибелии хвастаться в день его страдания.
13 Тебе не следовало входить в ворота Моего народа в день его бедствия,смотреть на его горе в день его бедствияи касаться его богатства в день его бедствия.
14 Тебе не стоило стоять на перекрёстках и убивать беглецов,не стоило выдавать уцелевших в день их страдания.
15 – Близок день Вечного для всех народов. Как ты поступал, так и с тобою поступят, то, что ты делал, падёт на твою же голову.
16 Как вы, эдомитяне, пили на святой горе Моей, так и все народы будут пить чашу Моего гнева всегда,будут пить и проглотят, и исчезнут, будто их и не было.
17 Будет на горе Сион спасение, и будет она святыней, а потомки Якуба вернут своё наследие.
18 Дом Якуба будет огнём, дом Юсуфа – пламенем,а дом Есава будет соломою, которую они подожгут и уничтожат; никто из потомков Есава не выживет. – Так сказал Вечный.
19 Люди из Негева завладеют горой Есава, а люди из предгорий – землёй филистимлян.Они захватят поля Ефраима и Самарии, а Вениамин завладеет Галаадом.
20 Те исраильтяне, что были в изгнании, завладеют ханаанской землёй до Сарепты, .а изгнанники Иерусалима, живущие в Сефараде, . получат во владения города Негева.
21 Спасители взойдут на гору Сион, чтобы править горою Есава. И наступит царствование Вечного.

13 Тебе не следовало входить в ворота Моего народа в день его бедствия,смотреть на его горе в день его бедствияи касаться его богатства в день его бедствия.

14 Тебе не стоило стоять на перекрёстках и убивать беглецов,не стоило выдавать уцелевших в день их страдания.

15 – Близок день Вечного для всех народов. Как ты поступал, так и с тобою поступят, то, что ты делал, падёт на твою же голову.

16 Как вы, эдомитяне, пили на святой горе Моей, так и все народы будут пить чашу Моего гнева всегда,будут пить и проглотят, и исчезнут, будто их и не было.

17 Будет на горе Сион спасение, и будет она святыней, а потомки Якуба вернут своё наследие.

18 Дом Якуба будет огнём, дом Юсуфа – пламенем,а дом Есава будет соломою, которую они подожгут и уничтожат; никто из потомков Есава не выживет. – Так сказал Вечный.

21 Спасители взойдут на гору Сион, чтобы править горою Есава. И наступит царствование Вечного.
