3 Therefore3651 prophesy5012 and say,559 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 Because3282 3282 they have made you desolate,8074 and swallowed you up7602 853 on every side,4480 5439 that ye might be1961 a possession4181 unto the residue7611 of the heathen,1471 and ye are taken up5927 in5921 the lips8193 of talkers,3956 and are an infamy1681 of the people: 5971

4 Therefore,3651 ye mountains2022 of Israel,3478 hear8085 the word1697 of the Lord136 GOD;3069 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD3069 to the mountains,2022 and to the hills,1389 to the rivers,650 and to the valleys,1516 to the desolate8074 wastes,2723 and to the cities5892 that are forsaken,5800 which834 became1961 a prey957 and derision3933 to the residue7611 of the heathen1471 that834 are round about;4480 5439

5 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 Surely518 3808 in the fire784 of my jealousy7068 have I spoken1696 against5921 the residue7611 of the heathen,1471 and against5921 all3605 Idumea,123 which834 have appointed5414 853 my land776 into their possession4181 with the joy8057 of all3605 their heart,3824 with despiteful7589 minds,5315 to4616 cast it out1644 for a prey.957

7 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 I589 have lifted up5375 853 mine hand,3027 Surely518 3808 the heathen1471 that834 are about4480 5439 you, they1992 shall bear5375 their shame.3639

8 But ye,859 O mountains2022 of Israel,3478 ye shall shoot forth5414 your branches,6057 and yield5375 your fruit6529 to my people5971 of Israel;3478 for3588 they are at hand7126 to come.935

9 For,3588 behold,2009 I am for413 you, and I will turn6437 unto413 you, and ye shall be tilled5647 and sown: 2232

10 And I will multiply7235 men120 upon5921 you, all3605 the house1004 of Israel,3478 even all3605 of it: and the cities5892 shall be inhabited,3427 and the wastes2723 shall be built: 1129

11 And I will multiply7235 upon5921 you man120 and beast;929 and they shall increase7235 and bring fruit:6509 and I will settle3427 you after your old estates,6927 and will do better3190 unto you than at your beginnings:4480 7221 and ye shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD.3068

12 Yea, I will cause men120 to walk1980 upon5921 you, even853 my people5971 Israel;3478 and they shall possess3423 thee, and thou shalt be1961 their inheritance,5159 and thou shalt no3808 more3254 henceforth5750 bereave7921 them of men.

13 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 Because3282 they say559 unto you, Thou859 land devourest up398 men,120 and hast bereaved1961 7921 thy nations;1471

14 Therefore3651 thou shalt devour398 men120 no3808 more,5750 neither3808 bereave7921 thy nations1471 any more,5750 saith5002 the Lord136 GOD.3069

15 Neither3808 will I cause men to hear8085 in413 thee the shame3639 of the heathen1471 any more,5750 neither3808 shalt thou bear5375 the reproach2781 of the people5971 any more,5750 neither3808 shalt thou cause thy nations1471 to fall3782 any more,5750 saith5002 the Lord136 GOD.3069

16 Moreover the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 unto413 me, saying,559

17 Son1121 of man,120 when the house1004 of Israel3478 dwelt3427 in5921 their own land,127 they defiled2930 it by their own way1870 and by their doings:5949 their way1870 was1961 before6440 me as the uncleanness2932 of a removed woman.5079

18 Wherefore I poured8210 my fury2534 upon5921 them for5921 the blood1818 that834 they had shed8210 upon5921 the land,776 and for their idols1544 wherewith they had polluted2930 it:

19 And I scattered6327 them among the heathen,1471 and they were dispersed2219 through the countries:776 according to their way1870 and according to their doings5949 I judged8199 them.

20 And when they entered935 unto413 the heathen,1471 whither834 8033 they went,935 they profaned2490 853 my holy6944 name,8034 when they said559 to them, These428 are the people5971 of the LORD,3068 and are gone forth3318 out of his land.4480 776

21 But I had pity2550 for5921 mine holy6944 name,8034 which834 the house1004 of Israel3478 had profaned2490 among the heathen,1471 whither834 8033 they went.935

22 Therefore3651 say559 unto the house1004 of Israel,3478 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 I589 do6213 not3808 this for your sakes,4616 O house1004 of Israel,3478 but3588 518 for mine holy6944 name's8034 sake, which834 ye have profaned2490 among the heathen,1471 whither834 8033 ye went.935

23 And I will sanctify6942 853 my great1419 name,8034 which was profaned2490 among the heathen,1471 which834 ye have profaned2490 in the midst8432 of them; and the heathen1471 shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD,3068 saith5002 the Lord136 GOD,3069 when I shall be sanctified6942 in you before their eyes.5869

24 For I will take3947 you from among4480 the heathen,1471 and gather6908 you out of all4480 3605 countries,776 and will bring935 you into413 your own land.127

25 Then will I sprinkle2236 clean2889 water4325 upon5921 you, and ye shall be clean:2891 from all4480 3605 your filthiness,2932 and from all4480 3605 your idols,1544 will I cleanse2891 you.

26 A new2319 heart3820 also will I give5414 you, and a new2319 spirit7307 will I put5414 within7130 you: and I will take away5493 853 the stony68 heart3820 out of your flesh,4480 1320 and I will give5414 you a heart3820 of flesh.1320

27 And I will put5414 my spirit7307 within7130 you, and cause6213 you to walk1980 in854 my statutes,2706 and ye shall keep8104 my judgments,4941 and do6213 them.

28 And ye shall dwell3427 in the land776 that834 I gave5414 to your fathers;1 and ye shall be1961 my people,5971 and I595 will be1961 your God.430

29 I will also save3467 you from all4480 3605 your uncleannesses:2932 and I will call7121 for413 the corn,1715 and will increase7235 it, and lay5414 no3808 famine7458 upon5921 you.

30 And I will multiply7235 853 the fruit6529 of the tree,6086 and the increase8570 of the field,7704 that4616 834 ye shall receive3947 no3808 more5750 reproach2781 of famine7458 among the heathen.1471

31 Then shall ye remember2142 853 your own evil7451 ways,1870 and your doings4611 that834 were not3808 good,2896 and shall loathe yourselves6962 in your own sight6440 for5921 your iniquities5771 and for5921 your abominations.8441

32 Not3808 for your sakes4616 do6213 I589 this, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD,3069 be it known3045 unto you: be ashamed954 and confounded3637 for your own ways,4480 1870 O house1004 of Israel.3478

33 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 In the day3117 that I shall have cleansed2891 you from all4480 3605 your iniquities5771 I will also cause you to dwell3427 853 in the cities,5892 and the wastes2723 shall be built.1129

34 And the desolate8074 land776 shall be tilled,5647 whereas8478 834 it lay1961 desolate8077 in the sight5869 of all3605 that passed by.5674

35 And they shall say,559 This1977 land776 that was desolate8074 is become1961 like the garden1588 of Eden;5731 and the waste2720 and desolate8074 and ruined2040 cities5892 are become fenced,1219 and are inhabited.3427

36 Then the heathen1471 that834 are left7604 round about5439 you shall know3045 that3588 I589 the LORD3068 build1129 the ruined2040 places, and plant5193 that that was desolate:8074 I589 the LORD3068 have spoken1696 it, and I will do6213 it.

37 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 I will yet5750 for this2063 be inquired of1875 by the house1004 of Israel,3478 to do6213 it for them; I will increase7235 them with men120 like a flock.6629

38 As the holy6944 flock,6629 as the flock6629 of Jerusalem3389 in her solemn feasts;4150 so3651 shall the waste2720 cities5892 be1961 filled4392 with flocks6629 of men:120 and they shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD.3068

1 ALSO, you Son of man, prophesy concerning the mountains of Israel, and say to the mountains of Israel, Hear the word of the LORD;

2 Thus says the LORD God: Because the enemy has said against you. Aha, the ancient high places are ours for a possession;

3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus says the LORD God: Because you have been reproached and made desolate and blasphemed from all those who are round about you; and you have become an inheritance to the rest of the nations, and you became the subject of gossip and of mocking among the nations;

4 Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD God: Thus says the LORD God to the mountains and to the hills and to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are deserted, which became a prey and a mockery among the rest of the people round about;

5 Therefore, thus says the LORD God: Surely in the fire of my indignation have I spoken against the rest of the nations and against all Edom, because they partitioned my land to themselves for an inheritance; and with the joy of their heart they have reproached the people that they might carry them captive and plunder them.

6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, Thus says the LORD God: Behold, I have spoken in my indignation and in my fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations;

7 Therefore thus says the LORD God: I have lifted up my hand against the nations that are round about you, so that they may bear their shame.

8 But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your grass and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are ready to come.

9 For, behold, I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown;

10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the ruined places shall be rebuilt.

11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall be great and multiply; and I will settle you as in former days, and will do good to you as I did from the beginning; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer bereave them of men.

13 Thus says the LORD God: Because they say to you, You are a land which devours her people and is bereaved of her inhabitants;

14 Therefore, from henceforth you shall devour men no more, neither shall you be bereaved of your people any more, says the LORD God.

15 Neither will I cause you to bear the shame of the nations any more, nor shall you bear the reproach of the people any more, nor shall you be bereaved of your people any more, says the LORD God.

16 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying.

17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their evil ways and by their doings; their way was before me like the uncleanness of a menstruous woman.

18 Wherefore I poured out my fury upon them for the blood which they had shed in the land and for the idols with which they had polluted it,

19 And I scattered them among the nations and dispersed them through the countries; according to their ways and according to their evil doings I judged them.

20 And when they went to live among the Gentiles, wherever they went, they profaned my holy name; and the Gentiles said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and now they are gone out of his land.

21 But I had pity for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the Gentiles, whither they went.

22 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the LORD God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am doing this; but for my holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the Gentiles, whither you went.

23 So that I may sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the Gentiles, which you have caused to be profaned among them; and the Gentiles shall know that I am the LORD, says the LORD God, when my name shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and I shall purify you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.

26 A new heart will I give you, a new spirit will I put within you; and I will remove the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my commandments, and you shall keep my judgments and do them.

28 And you shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the grain, and will increase it, and will not bring famine upon you.

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the produce of the field, that you may no more bear the reproach famine among the nations.

31 Then you shall remember your own evil ways and your contemptible doings, and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and abominations.

32 But you must know, it is not for your sake that I am doing these things, says the LORD God; now be ashamed and refrain from your evil ways, that you may not die, O house of Israel.

33 Thus says the LORD God: On the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also cause the cities to be inhabited and the ruined places rebuilt.

34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, that was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the ruined and demolished cities are now become fenced, and are inhabited.

36 Then the Gentiles that are left around about you shall know that I the LORD am rebuilding the mined cities and planting that which was desolate; I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus says the LORD God: Moreover in this shall I avenge the house of Israel, to do these things for them; and I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 As the holy flock, as the flock comes into Jerusalem at the time of her solemn feasts, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer bereave them of men.

26 A new heart will I give you, a new spirit will I put within you; and I will remove the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my commandments, and you shall keep my judgments and do them.

28 And ye shall dwell3427 in the land776 that834 I gave5414 to your fathers;1 and ye shall be1961 my people,5971 and I595 will be1961 your God.430

28 And you shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29 I will also save3467 you from all4480 3605 your uncleannesses:2932 and I will call7121 for413 the corn,1715 and will increase7235 it, and lay5414 no3808 famine7458 upon5921 you.

29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the grain, and will increase it, and will not bring famine upon you.

30 And I will multiply7235 853 the fruit6529 of the tree,6086 and the increase8570 of the field,7704 that4616 834 ye shall receive3947 no3808 more5750 reproach2781 of famine7458 among the heathen.1471

30 And I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the produce of the field, that you may no more bear the reproach famine among the nations.

31 Then shall ye remember2142 853 your own evil7451 ways,1870 and your doings4611 that834 were not3808 good,2896 and shall loathe yourselves6962 in your own sight6440 for5921 your iniquities5771 and for5921 your abominations.8441

31 Then you shall remember your own evil ways and your contemptible doings, and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and abominations.

32 Not3808 for your sakes4616 do6213 I589 this, saith5002 the Lord136 GOD,3069 be it known3045 unto you: be ashamed954 and confounded3637 for your own ways,4480 1870 O house1004 of Israel.3478

32 But you must know, it is not for your sake that I am doing these things, says the LORD God; now be ashamed and refrain from your evil ways, that you may not die, O house of Israel.

33 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 In the day3117 that I shall have cleansed2891 you from all4480 3605 your iniquities5771 I will also cause you to dwell3427 853 in the cities,5892 and the wastes2723 shall be built.1129

33 Thus says the LORD God: On the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also cause the cities to be inhabited and the ruined places rebuilt.

34 And the desolate8074 land776 shall be tilled,5647 whereas8478 834 it lay1961 desolate8077 in the sight5869 of all3605 that passed by.5674

34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, that was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.

35 And they shall say,559 This1977 land776 that was desolate8074 is become1961 like the garden1588 of Eden;5731 and the waste2720 and desolate8074 and ruined2040 cities5892 are become fenced,1219 and are inhabited.3427

35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the ruined and demolished cities are now become fenced, and are inhabited.

36 Then the heathen1471 that834 are left7604 round about5439 you shall know3045 that3588 I589 the LORD3068 build1129 the ruined2040 places, and plant5193 that that was desolate:8074 I589 the LORD3068 have spoken1696 it, and I will do6213 it.

36 Then the Gentiles that are left around about you shall know that I the LORD am rebuilding the mined cities and planting that which was desolate; I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

37 Thus3541 saith559 the Lord136 GOD;3069 I will yet5750 for this2063 be inquired of1875 by the house1004 of Israel,3478 to do6213 it for them; I will increase7235 them with men120 like a flock.6629

37 Thus says the LORD God: Moreover in this shall I avenge the house of Israel, to do these things for them; and I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 As the holy6944 flock,6629 as the flock6629 of Jerusalem3389 in her solemn feasts;4150 so3651 shall the waste2720 cities5892 be1961 filled4392 with flocks6629 of men:120 and they shall know3045 that3588 I589 am the LORD.3068

38 As the holy flock, as the flock comes into Jerusalem at the time of her solemn feasts, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
