2 And it came to pass,1961 as they journeyed5265 from the east,4480 6924 that they found4672 a plain1237 in the land776 of Shinar;8152 and they dwelt3427 there.8033

6 And the LORD3068 said,559 Behold,2005 the people5971 is one,259 and they have all3605 one259 language;8193 and this2088 they begin2490 to do:6213 and now6258 nothing3808 3605 will be restrained1219 from4480 them, which834 they have imagined2161 to do.6213

7 Go to,3051 let us go down,3381 and there8033 confound1101 their language,8193 that834 they may not3808 understand8085 one376 another's7453 speech.8193

8 So the LORD3068 scattered them abroad6327 853 from thence4480 8033 upon5921 the face6440 of all3605 the earth:776 and they left off2308 to build1129 the city.5892

9 Therefore5921 3651 is the name8034 of it called7121 Babel;894 because3588 the LORD3068 did there8033 confound1101 the language8193 of all3605 the earth:776 and from thence4480 8033 did the LORD3068 scatter them abroad6327 upon5921 the face6440 of all3605 the earth.776

8 Господь рассеял людей по всей земле, и поэтому они не закончили строительство города.

9 Именно там Господь смешал язык всей земли, и поэтому этот город называют Вавилоном, так как Господь рассеял оттуда людей по всей земле.

10 Вот родословная семьи Сима. Через два года после потопа, когда Симу было 100 лет, у него родился сын Арфаксад.

11 После этого Сим прожил ещё 500 лет, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

12 Когда Арфаксаду было 35 лет, у него родился сын Сала.

13 После рождения Салы Арфаксад прожил ещё 403 года, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

14 Когда Сале было 30 лет, у него родился сын Евер.

15 После рождения Евера Сала прожил ещё 403 года, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

16 Когда Еверу было 34 года, у него родился сын Фалек.

17 После рождения Фалека Евер прожил ещё 430 лет, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

20 Когда Рагаву было 32 года, у него родился сын Серух.

21 После рождения Серуха Рагав прожил ещё 207 лет, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

22 Когда Серуху было 30 лет, у него родился сын Нахор.

23 После рождения Нахора Серух прожил ещё 200 лет, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

24 Когда Нахору было 29 лет, у него родился сын Тера.

25 После рождения Теры Нахор прожил ещё 119 лет, и за это время у него родились другие сыновья и дочери.

26 Когда Тере исполнилось 70 лет, у него родились сыновья Аврам, Нахор и Харан.

27 Вот родословная семьи Теры. У Теры родились сыновья Аврам, Нахор и Харан. У Харана родился сын Лот.

28 Харан умер в своём родном городе Уре Халдейском ещё при жизни своего отца Теры.

29 Аврам и Нахор женились, жену Аврама звали Сара, а жену Нахора — Милка. Милка была дочерью Харана, Харан же был отцом Милки и Иски.

30 Сара была бесплодна и потому не имела детей.

31 Тера забрал свою семью и покинул Ур Вавилонский, чтобы отправиться в Ханаан. Он забрал с собой своего сына Аврама, внука Лота (сына Харана), и свою невестку Сару (жену Аврама). Они добрались до города Харан и решили там поселиться.
