Chapter 28

1 And Isaac3327 called7121 413 Jacob,3290 and blessed1288 him, and charged6680 him, and said559 unto him, Thou shalt not3808 take3947 a wife802 of the daughters4480 1323 of Canaan.3667

2 Arise,6965 go1980 to Padan-aram,6307 to the house1004 of Bethuel1328 thy mother's517 father;1 and take3947 thee a wife802 from thence4480 8033 of the daughters4480 1323 of Laban3837 thy mother's517 brother.251

3 And God410 Almighty7706 bless1288 thee, and make thee fruitful,6509 and multiply7235 thee, that thou mayest be1961 a multitude6951 of people;5971

4 And give5414 thee853 the blessing1293 of Abraham,85 to thee, and to thy seed2233 with854 thee; that thou mayest inherit3423 853 the land776 wherein thou art a stranger,4033 which834 God430 gave5414 unto Abraham.85

5 And Isaac3327 sent away7971 853 Jacob:3290 and he went1980 to Padan-aram6307 unto413 Laban,3837 son1121 of Bethuel1328 the Syrian,761 the brother251 of Rebekah,7259 Jacob's3290 and Esau's6215 mother.517

6 When Esau6215 saw7200 that3588 Isaac3327 had blessed1288 853 Jacob,3290 and sent him away7971 853 to Padan-aram,6307 to take3947 him a wife802 from thence;4480 8033 and that as he blessed1288 him he gave him a charge,6680 5921 saying,559 Thou shalt not3808 take3947 a wife802 of the daughters4480 1323 of Canaan;3667

7 And that Jacob3290 obeyed8085 413 his father1 and his mother,517 and was gone1980 to Padan-aram;6307

8 And Esau6215 seeing7200 that3588 the daughters1323 of Canaan3667 pleased not7451 5869 Isaac3327 his father;1

9 Then went1980 Esau6215 unto413 Ishmael,3458 and took3947 unto5921 the wives802 which he had853 Mahalath4258 the daughter1323 of Ishmael3458 Abraham's85 son,1121 the sister269 of Nebajoth,5032 to be his wife.802

10 And Jacob3290 went out3318 from Beer-sheba,4480 884 and went1980 toward Haran.2771

11 And he lighted6293 upon a certain place,4725 and tarried there all night,3885 8033 because3588 the sun8121 was set;935 and he took3947 of the stones4480 68 of that place,4725 and put7760 them for his pillows,4763 and lay down7901 in that1931 place4725 to sleep.

12 And he dreamed,2492 and behold2009 a ladder5551 set up5324 on the earth,776 and the top7218 of it reached5060 to heaven:8064 and behold2009 the angels4397 of God430 ascending5927 and descending3381 on it.

13 And, behold,2009 the LORD3068 stood5324 above5921 it, and said,559 I589 am the LORD3068 God430 of Abraham85 thy father,1 and the God430 of Isaac:3327 the land776 whereon834 5921 thou859 liest,7901 to thee will I give5414 it, and to thy seed;2233

14 And thy seed2233 shall be1961 as the dust6083 of the earth,776 and thou shalt spread abroad6555 to the west,3220 and to the east,6924 and to the north,6828 and to the south:5045 and in thee and in thy seed2233 shall all3605 the families4940 of the earth127 be blessed.1288

15 And, behold,2009 I595 am with5973 thee, and will keep8104 thee in all3605 places whither834 thou goest,1980 and will bring thee again7725 into413 this2063 land;127 for3588 I will not3808 leave5800 thee, until5704 834 518 I have done6213 853 that which834 I have spoken1696 to thee of.

16 And Jacob3290 awaked3364 out of his sleep,4480 8142 and he said,559 Surely403 the LORD3068 is3426 in this2088 place;4725 and I595 knew3045 it not.3808

17 And he was afraid,3372 and said,559 How4100 dreadful3372 is this2088 place!4725 this2088 is none369 other but3588 518 the house1004 of God,430 and this2088 is the gate8179 of heaven.8064

18 And Jacob3290 rose up early7925 in the morning,1242 and took3947 853 the stone68 that834 he had put7760 for his pillows,4763 and set it up7760 853 for a pillar,4676 and poured3332 oil8081 upon5921 the top7218 of it.

19 And he called7121 853 the name8034 of that1931 place4725 Bethel:1008 but199 the name8034 of that city5892 was called Luz3870 at the first.7223

20 And Jacob3290 vowed5087 a vow,5088 saying,559 If518 God430 will be1961 with5973 me, and will keep8104 me in this2088 way1870 that834 I595 go,1980 and will give5414 me bread3899 to eat,398 and raiment899 to put on,3847

21 So that I come again7725 to413 my father's1 house1004 in peace;7965 then shall the LORD3068 be1961 my God: 430

22 And this2063 stone,68 which834 I have set7760 for a pillar,4676 shall be1961 God's430 house:1004 and of all3605 that834 thou shalt give5414 me I will surely give the tenth6237 6237 unto thee.

1 Исаак призвал Иакова, благословил его и дал ему строгий наказ: «Не бери себе в жёны хананеянку.

2 Уйди отсюда, пойди в Падан-Арам, там зайди в дом Вафуила, отца твоей матери, где живёт Лаван, брат твоей матери. Женись на одной из его дочерей.

3 Я молю Бога Всемогущего, чтобы Он благословил тебя и послал тебе множество детей. Я молю, чтобы ты стал отцом великого народа,

4 молю Бога, чтобы Он благословил тебя и твоих детей, как благословил Авраама, и молю, чтобы ты владел землёй, на которой живёшь, той землёй, которую Бог дал Аврааму».

5 Исаак отправил Иакова в Падан-Арам, и Иаков пошёл к Лавану арамеянину, брату Ревекки. Отцом Лавана и Ревекки был Вафуил, Ревекка же была матерью Иакова и Исава.

6 Исав узнал, что его отец Исаак благословил Иакова и о том, что Исаак отправил его в Падан-Арам, чтобы тот нашёл себе там жену. Он также узнал, что отец велел Иакову не жениться на хананеянке.

7 Исав узнал и о том, что Иаков повиновался отцу и матери и отправился в Падан-Арам.

8 И понял Исав, что отец не хочет, чтобы его сыновья женились на хананеянках.

9 У Исава уже было две жены, но он отправился к Измаилу, сыну Авраама, и взял себе ещё одну жену, дочь Измаила Махалафу, сестру Наваиофа.

10 Иаков вышел из Вирсавии и отправился в Харан.

11 В пути его застал заход солнца, поэтому он решил выбрать место, где бы смог переночевать. Найдя камень, он приклонил на него голову и заснул.

12 И увидел Иаков во сне лестницу, поднимавшуюся от земли до самого неба, и Ангелы Божьи поднимались и спускались по ней.

13 Иаков увидел Господа, стоявшего у этой лестницы. Господь сказал ему: «Я Господь, Бог твоего деда Авраама, Бог Исаака. Я дам тебе ту землю, на которой ты сейчас лежишь, дам эту землю тебе и твоим детям.

14 У тебя будет великое множество потомков, столько, сколько пылинок на земле. Они распространятся на восток и на запад, на север и на юг, и все племена земные будут благословлены через тебя и твоих потомков.

15 Я всегда буду с тобой и защищу тебя, куда бы ты ни шёл, и приведу тебя обратно на эту землю, и не оставлю тебя, пока не исполню, что обещал».

16 Иаков проснулся и сказал: «Истинно, Господь присутствует на этом месте, но я не знал, что Он здесь, пока не уснул».

17 Иакову стало страшно. «Какое это великое место! — сказал он. — Это дом Божий, ворота на небеса».

18 Поднявшись рано утром, он взял камень, на котором спал, поставил его на торец и полил оливковым маслом, сделав из этого камня памятник Богу.

19 То место называлось Луз, но Иаков назвал его Вефиль.

20 Затем Иаков поклялся: «Если Бог будет со мной и защитит меня, куда бы я ни шёл, и если Бог даст мне еду и одежду,

21 и если я с миром возвращусь в дом отца моего, то Господь будет моим Богом.

22 Я поставлю здесь этот камень, чтобы он указывал, что это — святое место Божье, и отдам Богу десятую часть всего, что Он даёт мне».

13 Иаков увидел Господа, стоявшего у этой лестницы. Господь сказал ему: «Я Господь, Бог твоего деда Авраама, Бог Исаака. Я дам тебе ту землю, на которой ты сейчас лежишь, дам эту землю тебе и твоим детям.

14 And thy seed2233 shall be1961 as the dust6083 of the earth,776 and thou shalt spread abroad6555 to the west,3220 and to the east,6924 and to the north,6828 and to the south:5045 and in thee and in thy seed2233 shall all3605 the families4940 of the earth127 be blessed.1288

14 У тебя будет великое множество потомков, столько, сколько пылинок на земле. Они распространятся на восток и на запад, на север и на юг, и все племена земные будут благословлены через тебя и твоих потомков.

15 And, behold,2009 I595 am with5973 thee, and will keep8104 thee in all3605 places whither834 thou goest,1980 and will bring thee again7725 into413 this2063 land;127 for3588 I will not3808 leave5800 thee, until5704 834 518 I have done6213 853 that which834 I have spoken1696 to thee of.

15 Я всегда буду с тобой и защищу тебя, куда бы ты ни шёл, и приведу тебя обратно на эту землю, и не оставлю тебя, пока не исполню, что обещал».

16 And Jacob3290 awaked3364 out of his sleep,4480 8142 and he said,559 Surely403 the LORD3068 is3426 in this2088 place;4725 and I595 knew3045 it not.3808

16 Иаков проснулся и сказал: «Истинно, Господь присутствует на этом месте, но я не знал, что Он здесь, пока не уснул».

17 And he was afraid,3372 and said,559 How4100 dreadful3372 is this2088 place!4725 this2088 is none369 other but3588 518 the house1004 of God,430 and this2088 is the gate8179 of heaven.8064
