Psalm 80

1 GIVE ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that sittest upon the cherubim, shine forth.

2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh show forth thy strength and come and save us.

3 Guide us again, O mighty God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

6 Thou hast made us a jest to our neighbors; and our enemies laugh among themselves.

7 Guide us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt; thou hast cast out the heathen and planted it.

9 Thou didst prepare the ground and caused it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

10 The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, and the vine-shoots thereof were upon the cedars of God.

11 It sent out its roots unto the sea, and its branches to the rivers.

12 Why hast thou then broken down its hedges, so that all they who pass by the way tread over it?

13 The boar of the forest devours it, and the wild beasts of the field feed upon it.

14 Return we beseech thee, O God of hosts; look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine

15 And the vineyard which thy right hand has planted and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

16 It is burned with fire; it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

17 Let thy right hand be upon the man and upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

18 So will we not go back from thee; quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

19 Guide us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

6 Du speisest sie mit Tränenbrot und7760 tränkest sie mit großem Maß voll Tränen.

7 Du7725 setzest uns unsern Nachbarn zum Zank, und430 unsere Feinde spotten unser.

8 GOtt Zebaoth, tröste uns! Laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir.

9 Du hast4390 einen Weinstock aus Ägypten geholet und8328 hast vertrieben die Heiden und776 denselben gepflanzet.

10 Du hast vor ihm die Bahn gemacht und3680 hast ihn lassen einwurzeln, daß er das Land erfüllet hat.

11 Berge sind mit seinem Schatten bedeckt und7971 mit seinen Reben die Zedern Gottes.

12 Du hast sein Gewächs ausgebreitet6555 bis5674 ans Meer und seine Zweige bis ans Wasser.

13 Warum hast du denn seinen Zaun zerbrochen, daß ihn7704 zerreißet alles, das vorübergehet?

14 Es haben7725 ihn zerwühlet die wilden Säue, und430 die wilden Tiere haben7200 ihn verderbet.

15 GOtt Zebaoth, wende dich doch, schaue vom Himmel und1121 siehe an und suche heim diesen Weinstock

16 und halt ihn6440 im Bau, den deine Rechte gepflanzet hat8313, und den du dir festiglich erwählet hast.

17 Siehe drein und1121 schilt, daß des Brennens und Reißens ein376 Ende werde!
