Глава 11

1 И сказал в ответ Цофар из Наамы:

2 «Можно ли оставить без ответа это многословие? Если речист человек, то, стало быть, и прав?

3 Неужто пустословие твое людей молчать заставит? Глумиться будешь — и никто тебя не одернет?

4 Ты говоришь Богу: „Ученье мое непорочно, чист я перед Тобою!“

5 О если бы Сам Бог заговорил, если бы Он о тебе речь повел,

6 открыл тебе тайны премудрости!.. Ведь у истины — две стороны! Пойми, часть грехов твоих Бог и не припомнит!

7 Разве можешь ты открыть все тайны Бога? Разве можешь до конца постичь премудрость Всесильного?

8 Выше неба она — а что ты можешь? Шеола глубже — а что знаешь ты?

9 Самой земли она необъятнее и шире моря.

10 Решит ли Он пройти мимо или привлечь к суду и заключить в тюрьму — кто сможет противиться Ему?

11 Ведь знает Он недостойных людей, зло видит и всё примечает!

12 Но не раньше поумнеет пустоголовый, чем дикий осел человеком станет.

13 Если ты обратишься к Богу всем сердцем, если протянешь к Нему руки,

14 если руки свои от греха удержишь и нечестие из жилища своего изгонишь,

15 вот тогда без стыда смотреть будешь прямо, стоять будешь крепко, не ведая страха.

16 И горе свое позабудешь, как о воде утекшей, не вспомнишь о нем.

17 Ярче полудня засияет жизнь твоя, и тьма в зарю превратится.

18 И будешь ты спокоен, потому что будет надежда, защищен будешь и спать будешь спокойно.

19 Ляжешь — никто тебя не потревожит, и будут многие добиваться милости твоей.

20 А взоры нечестивцев померкнут, убежище их рухнет, и вся надежда их развеется».

2 Should not the multitude7230 of words1697 be answered?6030 and should a man376 full of talk8193 be justified?6663

3 Should your lies907 make men4962 hold2790 their peace?2790 and when you mock,3932 shall no369 man make you ashamed?3637

4 For you have said,559 My doctrine3948 is pure,2134 and I am clean1249 in your eyes.5869

5 But oh that God433 would speak,1696 and open6605 his lips8193 against5973 you;

6 And that he would show5046 you the secrets8587 of wisdom,2451 that they are double3718 to that which is! Know3045 therefore that God433 exacts5382 of you less than your iniquity5771 deserves.

7 Can you by searching2714 find4672 out God?433 can you find4672 out the Almighty7706 to perfection?8503

8 It is as high1363 as heaven;8064 what4100 can you do?6466 deeper6013 than hell;7585 what4100 can you know?3045

10 If518 he cut2498 off, and shut5462 up, or gather6950 together, then who4310 can hinder7725 him?

11 For he knows3045 vain7723 men:4962 he sees7200 wickedness205 also; will he not then consider995 it?

12 For vain5014 men376 would be wise,3823 though man120 be born3205 like a wild6501 ass's6501 colt.168

13 If518 you prepare3559 your heart,3820 and stretch6566 out your hands3709 toward413 him;

14 If518 iniquity205 be in your hand,3027 put it far7350 away, and let not wickedness5766 dwell7931 in your tabernacles.168

15 For then227 shall you lift5375 up your face6440 without spot;3971 yes, you shall be steadfast,3332 and shall not fear:3372

16 Because3588 you shall forget7911 your misery,5999 and remember2142 it as waters4325 that pass5674 away:

17 And your age2465 shall be clearer6965 than the noonday:6672 you shall shine5774 forth, you shall be as the morning.1242

18 And you shall be secure,982 because3588 there is hope;8615 yes, you shall dig2658 about5439 you, and you shall take7901 your rest7901 in safety.983

19 Also you shall lie7257 down,7257 and none369 shall make you afraid;2729 yes, many7227 shall make suit2470 to you.

20 But the eyes5869 of the wicked7563 shall fail,3615 and they shall not escape,4498 6 and their hope8615 shall be as the giving4646 up of the ghost.5315
