Глава 9

1 Однажды Иисус, идя по городу, увидел человека, слепого от рождения.

2 «Равви, — спросили ученики Его, — почему родился этот человек слепым? Кто согрешил: сам он или родители его?»

3 «Ни сам не виноват он, ни родители его, — отвечал Иисус. — Как бы ни случилось это, в жизни его явит себя сила Божия.

4 Но давайте, пока еще не кончился день, продолжим то дело, ради которого Я послан; когда наступит ночь, никто уже ничего не сможет делать.

5 Пока Я в мире, свет Я этому миру».

6 После этих слов Иисус смешал с землей слюну Свою и, помазав этим глаза слепого,

7 сказал тому: «Ступай к пруду Силоам (это слово значит «Посланный») и умойся в нем!» Тот пошел, умылся и вернулся зрячим.

8 И соседи его, и те, кто раньше знал его как нищего, спрашивали удивленно: «Не этот ли сидел каждый день у дороги и просил милостыню?»

9 Одни уверяли: «Да, это он». Другие спорили: «Нет. Это кто-то, похожий на него». Сам же он говорил: «Это я и есть».

10 «А как случилось это, что стал ты видеть?» — спрашивали его.

11 Он отвечал: «Человек, которого зовут Иисус, помазал мне глаза слюной, смешанной с землей, и сказал: „Ступай к пруду Силоам и умойся!“ Пошел я, умылся и прозрел».

12 «Где же теперь Он?» — спросили его. «Не знаю», — ответил исцеленный.

13 Привели этого недавно еще слепого человека к фарисеям.

14 А день тот, когда Иисус сделал эту смесь и излечил слепого, был суббота.

15 Поэтому и тут с особой придирчивостью спрашивали фарисеи его, как он прозрел. «Иисус помазал мне глаза слюной, смешанной с землей, — ответил им тот человек, — я умылся и прозрел».

16 Тогда некоторые из фарисеев сказали: «Не от Бога Человек Этот — не соблюдает Он субботу». Другие возражали: «Как может грешный человек творить такие знамения?» Мнения их разделились.

17 Потом снова обратились они к слепорожденному: «Что скажешь ты о Том, Кто избавил тебя от слепоты твоей?» Тот ответил: «Он Пророк».

18 Но власти иудейские не захотели поверить, что этот человек был слепым, а потом прозрел. Позвали они родителей прозревшего

19 и спросили их: «Ваш ли это сын? Вы утверждаете, что он родился слепым? Как же случилось такое, что он видит теперь?»

20 «Что наш это сын и что родился он слепым, это мы точно знаем, — ответили родители, —

21 а как получилось, что видит он теперь, это нам неведомо. И кто сделал его зрячим, мы тоже не знаем. Спросите у него самого, он взрослый уже, пусть сам за себя скажет».

22 Родители отвечали так из страха перед властями иудейскими: те сговорились, что будут отлучать от синагоги всех, кто признает Иисуса Мессией.

23 Потому и сказали родители: «Он уже взрослый, спросите его самого».

24 Снова позвали фарисеи того человека, который был слепым, и сказали ему: «Поклянись, что скажешь правду! Мы точно знаем, что Человек Тот — грешник».

25 «Грешник ли Он, — ответил прозревший, — я не знаю. Одно знаю: я был слепым, а теперь вижу».

26 Тогда они спросили его: «Что Он сделал с тобой? Как исцелил тебя?»

27 «Я ведь уже говорил вам, — ответил он, — но вы, верно, не слушали. Для чего же снова хотите услышать то же самое? Не хотите ли вы стать Его учениками?»

28 Они стали поносить его: «Это ты ходишь в учениках у Него! А мы Моисея ученики!

29 С Моисеем, мы знаем, Сам Бог говорил, а что до Этого, то нам неизвестно даже, откуда Он».

30 «Вот это и странно! — ответил прозревший. — Человек дал мне зрение, а вы не знаете, откуда Он?!

31 Но ведь знаем же мы, что не грешников Бог слушает, а только тех, кто чтит Его и творит волю Его.

32 Слепорожденного зрячим сделать — о таком никто и не слышал никогда.

33 Если бы не от Бога был Этот Человек, не смог бы Он ничего подобного сделать».

34 Но один был у них на это ответ: «Во грехах ты погряз от самого рождения своего, тебе ли учить нас?!» И прогнали его фарисеи.

35 Услышав о том, как обошлись фарисеи с исцеленным, Иисус нашел его и спросил: «Веришь ли ты в Сына Человеческого?»

36 «Господин, — ответил он, — скажи мне, кто Он, чтобы мог я поверить в Него».

37 Иисус сказал: «Ты видел Его, это Он говорит с тобой».

38 «Верю, Господи!» — воскликнул прозревший и, пав перед Ним на колени, поклонился Ему.

39 Иисус же сказал: «Для суда Я пришел в этот мир, чтобы прозрели слепые и ослепли зрячие».

40 Услышав такое, некоторые из стоявших рядом фарисеев спросили: «Что же, по-твоему, мы тоже слепые?!»

41 «Были бы вы слепы, не было бы греха на вас; но раз говорите, что видите, то ваш грех остается на вас», — ответил им Иисус.

Chapter 9

1 AND as Jesus passed by he saw a man who was blind from his mother's womb.

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Teacher, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus said to them, Neither did he sin nor his parents. But that the works of God might be seen in him,

4 I must do the works of him who sent me, while it is day; the night comes when no man can work.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

6 When he said these words, he spat on the ground, and mixed clay with his saliva, and he placed it on the eyes of the blind man.

7 Then he said to him, Go and wash in the baptismal pool of Siloam. He went and washed, and he came seeing.

8 His neighbors and those who had seen him before begging, said, Is not this he who used to sit down and beg?

9 Some said, It is he; and some said, No, but he resembles him; but he said, I am he.

10 Then they said to him, How were your eyes opened?

11 He answered and said to them, A man whose name is Jesus made clay and placed it on my eyes, and he said to me, Go and wash in the water of Siloam; and I went and washed, and I see.

12 They said to him, Where is he? He said to them, I do not know.

13 So they brought to the Pharisees him who had been blind from his birth.

14 Now it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

15 Again the Pharisees asked him, How did you receive your sight? He said to them, He placed clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.

16 Then some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he does not observe the sabbath; others said, How can a man who is a sinner do these miracles? And there was a division among them.

17 They said to the blind man again, What do you say concerning him who opened your eyes? He said to them, I say he is a prophet.

18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight.

19 And they asked them, Is this your son, who you say was born blind? how then does he now see?

20 His parents answered and said, We know that he is our son, and that he was born blind.

21 But how he sees now, or who opened his eyes, we do not know; he is of age, ask him, he will speak for himself.

22 His parents said these things because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had decided already, that if any man should confess that he is the Christ, they would put him out of the synagogue.

23 For this reason his parents said, He is of age, ask him.

24 So they called a second time the man who had been blind, and said to him, Give praise to God, for we know that this man is a sinner.

25 He answered and said to them, If he is a sinner I do not know; but I do know one thing, that I was blind, and now behold, I see.

26 They said to him again, What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?

27 He said to them, I have already told you, and you did not listen; why do you want to hear it again? why, do you also want to become his disciples?

28 Then they cursed him, and said to him, You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

29 And we know that God spoke with Moses; but as for this man, we do not know whence he is.

30 The man answered and said to them, This is surprising, that you do not know whence he is, and yet he opened my eyes.

31 We know that God does not hear the voice of sinners; but he hears the one who fears him and does his will.

32 From ages it has never been heard that a man opened the eyes of one who was born blind.

33 If this man were not from God, he could not have done this.

34 They answered and said to him, You were wholly born in sins, and yet do you teach us? And they cast him out.

35 And Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and he found him and said to him, Do you believe in the Son of God?

36 He who was healed answered and said, Who is he, my Lord, so that I may believe in him?

37 Jesus said to him, You have seen him, and he is the one who is speaking with you.

38 He said, I do believe, my Lord; and he fell down and worshipped him.

39 Then Jesus said to him, I have come for the judgment of this world, so that those who cannot see may see, and those who see may become blind.

40 When some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these words, they said to him, Why, are we also blind?

41 Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, We see; because of this your sin remains.

2 «Равви, — спросили ученики Его, — почему родился этот человек слепым? Кто согрешил: сам он или родители его?»	2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Teacher, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 «Ни сам не виноват он, ни родители его, — отвечал Иисус. — Как бы ни случилось это, в жизни его явит себя сила Божия.	3 Jesus said to them, Neither did he sin nor his parents. But that the works of God might be seen in him,
4 Но давайте, пока еще не кончился день, продолжим то дело, ради которого Я послан; когда наступит ночь, никто уже ничего не сможет делать.	4 I must do the works of him who sent me, while it is day; the night comes when no man can work.
5 Пока Я в мире, свет Я этому миру».	5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 После этих слов Иисус смешал с землей слюну Свою и, помазав этим глаза слепого,	6 When he said these words, he spat on the ground, and mixed clay with his saliva, and he placed it on the eyes of the blind man.
7 сказал тому: «Ступай к пруду Силоам (это слово значит «Посланный») и умойся в нем!» Тот пошел, умылся и вернулся зрячим.	7 Then he said to him, Go and wash in the baptismal pool of Siloam. He went and washed, and he came seeing.

10 «А как случилось это, что стал ты видеть?» — спрашивали его.	10 Then they said to him, How were your eyes opened?
11 Он отвечал: «Человек, которого зовут Иисус, помазал мне глаза слюной, смешанной с землей, и сказал: „Ступай к пруду Силоам и умойся!“ Пошел я, умылся и прозрел».	11 He answered and said to them, A man whose name is Jesus made clay and placed it on my eyes, and he said to me, Go and wash in the water of Siloam; and I went and washed, and I see.
12 «Где же теперь Он?» — спросили его. «Не знаю», — ответил исцеленный.	12 They said to him, Where is he? He said to them, I do not know.
13 Привели этого недавно еще слепого человека к фарисеям.	13 So they brought to the Pharisees him who had been blind from his birth.
14 А день тот, когда Иисус сделал эту смесь и излечил слепого, был суббота.	14 Now it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Поэтому и тут с особой придирчивостью спрашивали фарисеи его, как он прозрел. «Иисус помазал мне глаза слюной, смешанной с землей, — ответил им тот человек, — я умылся и прозрел».	15 Again the Pharisees asked him, How did you receive your sight? He said to them, He placed clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.
16 Тогда некоторые из фарисеев сказали: «Не от Бога Человек Этот — не соблюдает Он субботу». Другие возражали: «Как может грешный человек творить такие знамения?» Мнения их разделились.	16 Then some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he does not observe the sabbath; others said, How can a man who is a sinner do these miracles? And there was a division among them.

20 «Что наш это сын и что родился он слепым, это мы точно знаем, — ответили родители, —	20 His parents answered and said, We know that he is our son, and that he was born blind.
21 а как получилось, что видит он теперь, это нам неведомо. И кто сделал его зрячим, мы тоже не знаем. Спросите у него самого, он взрослый уже, пусть сам за себя скажет».	21 But how he sees now, or who opened his eyes, we do not know; he is of age, ask him, he will speak for himself.
22 Родители отвечали так из страха перед властями иудейскими: те сговорились, что будут отлучать от синагоги всех, кто признает Иисуса Мессией.	22 His parents said these things because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had decided already, that if any man should confess that he is the Christ, they would put him out of the synagogue.
23 Потому и сказали родители: «Он уже взрослый, спросите его самого».	23 For this reason his parents said, He is of age, ask him.
24 Снова позвали фарисеи того человека, который был слепым, и сказали ему: «Поклянись, что скажешь правду! Мы точно знаем, что Человек Тот — грешник».	24 So they called a second time the man who had been blind, and said to him, Give praise to God, for we know that this man is a sinner.
25 «Грешник ли Он, — ответил прозревший, — я не знаю. Одно знаю: я был слепым, а теперь вижу».	25 He answered and said to them, If he is a sinner I do not know; but I do know one thing, that I was blind, and now behold, I see.
26 Тогда они спросили его: «Что Он сделал с тобой? Как исцелил тебя?»	26 They said to him again, What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?
27 «Я ведь уже говорил вам, — ответил он, — но вы, верно, не слушали. Для чего же снова хотите услышать то же самое? Не хотите ли вы стать Его учениками?»	27 He said to them, I have already told you, and you did not listen; why do you want to hear it again? why, do you also want to become his disciples?
28 Они стали поносить его: «Это ты ходишь в учениках у Него! А мы Моисея ученики!	28 Then they cursed him, and said to him, You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.
29 С Моисеем, мы знаем, Сам Бог говорил, а что до Этого, то нам неизвестно даже, откуда Он».	29 And we know that God spoke with Moses; but as for this man, we do not know whence he is.
30 «Вот это и странно! — ответил прозревший. — Человек дал мне зрение, а вы не знаете, откуда Он?!	30 The man answered and said to them, This is surprising, that you do not know whence he is, and yet he opened my eyes.
31 Но ведь знаем же мы, что не грешников Бог слушает, а только тех, кто чтит Его и творит волю Его.	31 We know that God does not hear the voice of sinners; but he hears the one who fears him and does his will.
32 Слепорожденного зрячим сделать — о таком никто и не слышал никогда.	32 From ages it has never been heard that a man opened the eyes of one who was born blind.
33 Если бы не от Бога был Этот Человек, не смог бы Он ничего подобного сделать».	33 If this man were not from God, he could not have done this.
34 Но один был у них на это ответ: «Во грехах ты погряз от самого рождения своего, тебе ли учить нас?!» И прогнали его фарисеи.	34 They answered and said to him, You were wholly born in sins, and yet do you teach us? And they cast him out.
35 Услышав о том, как обошлись фарисеи с исцеленным, Иисус нашел его и спросил: «Веришь ли ты в Сына Человеческого?»	35 And Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and he found him and said to him, Do you believe in the Son of God?
36 «Господин, — ответил он, — скажи мне, кто Он, чтобы мог я поверить в Него».	36 He who was healed answered and said, Who is he, my Lord, so that I may believe in him?
37 Иисус сказал: «Ты видел Его, это Он говорит с тобой».	37 Jesus said to him, You have seen him, and he is the one who is speaking with you.
38 «Верю, Господи!» — воскликнул прозревший и, пав перед Ним на колени, поклонился Ему.	38 He said, I do believe, my Lord; and he fell down and worshipped him.
39 Иисус же сказал: «Для суда Я пришел в этот мир, чтобы прозрели слепые и ослепли зрячие».	39 Then Jesus said to him, I have come for the judgment of this world, so that those who cannot see may see, and those who see may become blind.
40 Услышав такое, некоторые из стоявших рядом фарисеев спросили: «Что же, по-твоему, мы тоже слепые?!»	40 When some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these words, they said to him, Why, are we also blind?
41 «Были бы вы слепы, не было бы греха на вас; но раз говорите, что видите, то ваш грех остается на вас», — ответил им Иисус.	41 Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, We see; because of this your sin remains.
