Глава 28

1 Исаак позвал к себе Иакова, благословил его и дал ему такой наказ: «Ханаанеянку в жены не бери,

2 а отправляйся поскорее в Паддан-Арам, в дом Бетуэля, к отцу твоей матери; там и возьми себе жену из дочерей Лавана, брата ее.

3 Бог Всесильный да благословит тебя! Да сделает Он тебя плодовитым и потомство твое многочисленным, дабы ты стал отцом множества народов!

4 Да дарует Он тебе и потомству твоему с тобою благословение, которое Он дал Аврааму, чтобы ты овладел землею, на которой живешь человеком пришлым, овладел той землею, которую Бог обещал дать Аврааму!»

5 Так Исаак отправил Иакова в Паддан-Арам, и тот пошел туда, чтобы жить у Лавана, сына Бетуэля-арамея, брата Ревекки, матери Иакова и Исава.

6 Исав узнал, что Исаак благословил Иакова и послал его в Паддан-Арам, чтобы тот нашел там себе жену, и что, благословляя, отец обязал Иакова не брать в жены ханаанеянку.

7 Узнал он и то, что Иаков послушался родителей и пошел в Паддан-Арам.

8 Видя, что невестки из ханаанеянок не угодны его отцу Исааку,

9 Исав пошел к своему дяде Измаилу, сыну Авраама, и (хотя у Исава уже были жены) взял себе еще одну жену Махалат, дочь Измаила, сестру Невайота.

10 Иаков покинул Беэр-Шеву и направился в Харан.

11 Дошел он до некоего места и, так как солнце уже зашло, остался там на ночь под открытым небом. Нашел он на том месте камень, положил его себе в изголовье и лег спать.

12 И увидел Иаков во сне лестницу, основание которой покоилось на земле, а верхние ступени достигали неба. Ангелы Божии поднимались и спускались по этой лестнице.

13 ГОСПОДЬ стоял перед ним и говорил ему: «Я ГОСПОДЬ, Бог Авраама, праотца твоего, и Бог Исаака. Землю, на которой ты лежишь, Я дарую тебе и потомкам твоим.

14 Они неисчислимы будут, словно песок на земле. Распространятся поселения их на запад и на восток, на север и на юг. Благословением для всех народов земли будешь ты и потомки твои.

15 Знай же, Я — с тобою и буду всюду хранить тебя, куда бы ты ни пошел, и верну тебя в эту страну. Я не оставлю тебя, не исполнив того, что обещал тебе».

16 Пробудившись ото сна, Иаков сказал: «Поистине ГОСПОДЬ пребывает на этом месте, а я и не знал!»

17 Охваченный страхом, он воскликнул: «Какой трепет во мне вызывает святое место сие! Это не что иное, как дом Божий, это врата небес!»

18 Встав рано утром, Иаков взял камень, который клал себе в изголовье, поставил его памятником и возлил на него елей.

19 Он назвал то место Бет-Эль. (Прежнее название расположенного вблизи города было Луз.)

20 И дал Иаков такой обет: «Если Бог будет со мной, оградит меня от бед в пути и дарует мне хлеб и одежду,

21 если благополучно вернусь я в отчий дом, то будет ГОСПОДЬ моим Богом, как никогда прежде,

22 а на этом месте, где камень сей я памятником поставил, будет дом Божий; и из всего, что Ты, Боже, даруешь мне, я обязательно буду отдавать Тебе десятую часть».

Chapter 28

1 THEN Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said to him, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

2 Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take for yourself a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.

3 May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a multitude of peoples;

4 And give the blessings of Abraham to you and to your descendants with you, that you may inherit the land in which you dwell, which God gave to Abraham.

5 And Isaac sent away Jacob; and he went to Padan-aram, to Laban, the son of Bethuel, the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.

6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed his brother Jacob and sent him away to Padan-aram to take for himself a wife from there, and that as he blessed him, he charged him, saying, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;

7 And Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and went to Padan-aram;

8 And Esau saw that Isaac his father despised the daughters of Canaan;

9 Then Esau went to Ishmael, Abraham's son, and took Bismath, the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, the sister of Nebioth, to be his wife, in addition to his other wives.

10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, on his way to Haran.

11 And he arrived at a certain place, and spent the night there, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of the place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder was set upon the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac; the land whereon you are lying, I will give to you and to your descendants;

14 And your descendants shall be as numerous as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the east and to the west and to the north and to the south; and in you and through your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

15 And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done the thing of which I have spoken to you.

16 And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I did not know it.

17 And Jacob was exceedingly fearful, and he said, How sacred is this place today! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone which he had put for his pillow, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it.

19 Then Jacob called the name of that place Beth-el (the house of God); but at the first the name of that place was called Luz.

20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will protect me in this way that I go, and will give me food to eat and clothing to wear

21 So that I may return to my father's house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God;

22 And this stone which I have set up for a pillar shall be God's house and of all that thou shalt give me I will give the tenth to thee.

1 THEN Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said to him, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

2 а отправляйся поскорее в Паддан-Арам, в дом Бетуэля, к отцу твоей матери; там и возьми себе жену из дочерей Лавана, брата ее.

2 Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take for yourself a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.

3 Бог Всесильный да благословит тебя! Да сделает Он тебя плодовитым и потомство твое многочисленным, дабы ты стал отцом множества народов!

3 May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a multitude of peoples;

4 Да дарует Он тебе и потомству твоему с тобою благословение, которое Он дал Аврааму, чтобы ты овладел землею, на которой живешь человеком пришлым, овладел той землею, которую Бог обещал дать Аврааму!»

4 And give the blessings of Abraham to you and to your descendants with you, that you may inherit the land in which you dwell, which God gave to Abraham.

5 Так Исаак отправил Иакова в Паддан-Арам, и тот пошел туда, чтобы жить у Лавана, сына Бетуэля-арамея, брата Ревекки, матери Иакова и Исава.

5 And Isaac sent away Jacob; and he went to Padan-aram, to Laban, the son of Bethuel, the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.

6 Исав узнал, что Исаак благословил Иакова и послал его в Паддан-Арам, чтобы тот нашел там себе жену, и что, благословляя, отец обязал Иакова не брать в жены ханаанеянку.

6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed his brother Jacob and sent him away to Padan-aram to take for himself a wife from there, and that as he blessed him, he charged him, saying, You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;

7 Узнал он и то, что Иаков послушался родителей и пошел в Паддан-Арам.

7 And Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and went to Padan-aram;

8 Видя, что невестки из ханаанеянок не угодны его отцу Исааку,

8 And Esau saw that Isaac his father despised the daughters of Canaan;

9 Исав пошел к своему дяде Измаилу, сыну Авраама, и (хотя у Исава уже были жены) взял себе еще одну жену Махалат, дочь Измаила, сестру Невайота.

9 Then Esau went to Ishmael, Abraham's son, and took Bismath, the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, the sister of Nebioth, to be his wife, in addition to his other wives.

10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, on his way to Haran.

11 And he arrived at a certain place, and spent the night there, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of the place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

12 И увидел Иаков во сне лестницу, основание которой покоилось на земле, а верхние ступени достигали неба. Ангелы Божии поднимались и спускались по этой лестнице.

12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder was set upon the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

13 ГОСПОДЬ стоял перед ним и говорил ему: «Я ГОСПОДЬ, Бог Авраама, праотца твоего, и Бог Исаака. Землю, на которой ты лежишь, Я дарую тебе и потомкам твоим.

13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac; the land whereon you are lying, I will give to you and to your descendants;

14 Они неисчислимы будут, словно песок на земле. Распространятся поселения их на запад и на восток, на север и на юг. Благословением для всех народов земли будешь ты и потомки твои.

14 And your descendants shall be as numerous as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the east and to the west and to the north and to the south; and in you and through your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

15 Знай же, Я — с тобою и буду всюду хранить тебя, куда бы ты ни пошел, и верну тебя в эту страну. Я не оставлю тебя, не исполнив того, что обещал тебе».

15 And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done the thing of which I have spoken to you.

16 Пробудившись ото сна, Иаков сказал: «Поистине ГОСПОДЬ пребывает на этом месте, а я и не знал!»

16 And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I did not know it.

17 Охваченный страхом, он воскликнул: «Какой трепет во мне вызывает святое место сие! Это не что иное, как дом Божий, это врата небес!»

17 And Jacob was exceedingly fearful, and he said, How sacred is this place today! This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

18 Встав рано утром, Иаков взял камень, который клал себе в изголовье, поставил его памятником и возлил на него елей.

18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone which he had put for his pillow, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it.

19 Он назвал то место Бет-Эль. (Прежнее название расположенного вблизи города было Луз.)

19 Then Jacob called the name of that place Beth-el (the house of God); but at the first the name of that place was called Luz.

20 И дал Иаков такой обет: «Если Бог будет со мной, оградит меня от бед в пути и дарует мне хлеб и одежду,

20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will protect me in this way that I go, and will give me food to eat and clothing to wear

21 если благополучно вернусь я в отчий дом, то будет ГОСПОДЬ моим Богом, как никогда прежде,

22 And this stone which I have set up for a pillar shall be God's house and of all that thou shalt give me I will give the tenth to thee.
