Книга Иисуса Навина

Глава 20

1 После того как земля была поделена, ГОСПОДЬ сказал Иисусу:

2 «Повели израильтянам, чтобы они устроили у себя во владениях особые города-убежища, о которых Я говорил им еще при жизни Моисея.

3 Всякий, кто неумышленно, случайно убьет человека, сможет бежать в такой город и укрыться там от мстителя за кровь погибшего.

4 Совершивший убийство сможет обрести защиту в одном из таких городов. Там, встав перед городскими воротами, он должен будет изложить дело свое старейшинам города. Они должны будут принять его в свой город, дать ему кров, и человек этот останется с ними.

5 И когда его будет преследовать мститель за кровь погибшего, старейшины не должны выдавать убийцу — ведь он убил случайно своего ближнего, который не был прежде его врагом.

6 Убийца должен оставаться в этом городе, пока не предстанет перед судом общины, и жить там до смерти первосвященника, в бытность которого было совершено преступление. Лишь тогда убийца может вернуться домой, в свой город, из которого он в свое время бежал».

7 Выделили израильтяне такие города-убежища: Кедеш в Галилее, что в нагорье Неффалима, Шехем в нагорье Ефрема и Кирьят-Арбу (или Хеврон) в нагорье Иуды.

8 За Иорданом, восточнее Иерихона, выбрали они Бецер, что в пустыне на плоскогорье, принадлежавший колену Рувима, Рамот в Гиладе, принадлежавший колену Гада, и Голан в Башане, принадлежавший колену Манассии.

9 Эти города были определены как города-убежища для всех израильтян и переселенцев, живших среди них. Всякий, кто неумышленно совершил убийство, мог бежать туда, чтобы не погибнуть от руки мстителя за кровь, пока не предстанет перед судом общины.

Joshua

Chapter 20

1 THEN the LORD said to Joshua,

2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Reserve for you cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through my servant Moses;

3 That the slayer who kills any person suddenly and unwittingly may flee there; and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.

4 And when he that shall flee to one of these cities shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and shall speak to the elders of that city and explain his case, they shall take him into the city with them and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.

5 And when the avenger of blood pursues him, then they shall not deliver the slayer into his hand; because he slew his neighbor unwittingly, and did not hate him beforehand.

6 And he shall dwell in that city until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days; then the slayer shall return, and come to his own city and to his own house, to the city from which he fled.

7 So they set apart these cities for the places of refuge: Rakim in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Koriath-arba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.

8 And on the other side of the Jordan, east of Jericho, they assigned Bozer in the wilderness, which is situated upon the plain, from the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead, from the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Mathnin, from the tribe of Manasseh.

9 These were the cities set apart for all the children of Israel and for the strangers that sojourned among them, that any one who killed a person unawares might flee there, and not be delivered into the hand of the avenger of blood, until he had stood before the congregation.

1 После того как земля была поделена, ГОСПОДЬ сказал Иисусу:

1 THEN the LORD said to Joshua,

4 Совершивший убийство сможет обрести защиту в одном из таких городов. Там, встав перед городскими воротами, он должен будет изложить дело свое старейшинам города. Они должны будут принять его в свой город, дать ему кров, и человек этот останется с ними.

6 Убийца должен оставаться в этом городе, пока не предстанет перед судом общины, и жить там до смерти первосвященника, в бытность которого было совершено преступление. Лишь тогда убийца может вернуться домой, в свой город, из которого он в свое время бежал».

6 And he shall dwell in that city until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days; then the slayer shall return, and come to his own city and to his own house, to the city from which he fled.
