Psalm 107

1 O give thanks3034 to the LORD,3068 for he is good:2896 for his mercy2617 endures for ever.5769

2 Let the redeemed1350 of the LORD3068 say559 so, whom834 he has redeemed1350 from the hand3027 of the enemy;6862

3 And gathered6908 them out of the lands,776 from the east,4217 and from the west,4628 from the north,6828 and from the south.3220

4 They wandered8582 in the wilderness4057 in a solitary3452 way;1870 they found4672 no3808 city5892 to dwell4186 in.

5 Hungry7456 and thirsty,6771 their soul5315 fainted5848 in them.

6 Then they cried6817 to the LORD3068 in their trouble,6862 and he delivered5337 them out of their distresses.4691

7 And he led1869 them forth by the right3477 way,1870 that they might go3212 to a city5892 of habitation.4186

8 Oh that men would praise3034 the LORD3068 for his goodness,2617 and for his wonderful6381 works to the children1121 of men!120

9 For he satisfies7646 the longing8264 soul,5315 and fills4390 the hungry7456 soul5315 with goodness.2896

10 Such as sit3427 in darkness2822 and in the shadow6757 of death,6757 being bound615 in affliction6040 and iron;1270

11 Because3588 they rebelled4784 against the words561 of God,410 and contemned5006 the counsel6098 of the most5945 High:5945

12 Therefore he brought3665 down3665 their heart3820 with labor;5999 they fell3782 down,3782 and there was none369 to help.5826

13 Then they cried2199 to the LORD3068 in their trouble,6862 and he saved3467 them out of their distresses.4691

14 He brought3318 them out of darkness2822 and the shadow6757 of death,6757 and broke5423 their bands4147 in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise3034 the LORD3068 for his goodness,2617 and for his wonderful6381 works to the children1121 of men!120

16 For he has broken7665 the gates1817 of brass,5178 and cut1438 the bars1280 of iron1270 in sunder.

17 Fools191 because1870 of their transgression,6588 and because of their iniquities,5771 are afflicted.6031

18 Their soul5315 abhors8581 all manner of meat;400 and they draw near5060 to the gates8179 of death.4194

19 Then they cry2199 to the LORD3068 in their trouble,6862 and he saves3467 them out of their distresses.4691

20 He sent7971 his word,1697 and healed7495 them, and delivered4422 them from their destructions.7825

21 Oh that men would praise3034 the LORD3068 for his goodness,2617 and for his wonderful6381 works to the children1121 of men!120

22 And let them sacrifice2076 the sacrifices2077 of thanksgiving,8426 and declare5608 his works4639 with rejoicing.7440

23 They that go3381 down3381 to the sea3220 in ships,591 that do6213 business4399 in great7227 waters;4325

24 These1992 see7200 the works4639 of the LORD,3068 and his wonders6381 in the deep.4688

25 For he commands,559 and raises5975 the stormy5591 wind,7307 which lifts7311 up the waves1530 thereof.

26 They mount5927 up to the heaven,8064 they go3381 down3381 again to the depths:8415 their soul5315 is melted4127 because of trouble.7451

27 They reel2287 to and fro, and stagger5128 like a drunken7910 man, and are at their wit's2451 end.1104

28 Then they cry6817 to the LORD3068 in their trouble,6862 and he brings3318 them out of their distresses.4691

29 He makes the storm5591 a calm,1827 so that the waves1530 thereof are still.2814

30 Then are they glad8056 because3588 they be quiet;8367 so he brings5148 them to their desired2656 haven.4231

31 Oh that men would praise3034 the LORD3068 for his goodness,2617 and for his wonderful6381 works to the children1121 of men!120

32 Let them exalt7311 him also in the congregation6951 of the people,5971 and praise1984 him in the assembly4186 of the elders.2205

33 He turns7760 rivers5104 into a wilderness,4057 and the springs4161 4325 into dry6774 ground;

34 A fruitful6529 land776 into barrenness,4420 for the wickedness7451 of them that dwell3427 therein.

35 He turns7760 the wilderness4057 into a standing98 water,4325 and dry6723 ground127 into springs.4161 4325

36 And there8033 he makes the hungry7456 to dwell,3427 that they may prepare3559 a city5892 for habitation;4186

37 And sow2232 the fields,7704 and plant5193 vineyards,3754 which may yield6213 fruits6529 of increase.8393

38 He blesses1288 them also, so that they are multiplied7235 greatly;3966 and suffers not their cattle929 to decrease.4591

39 Again, they are diminished4591 and brought7817 low7817 through oppression,6115 affliction,7451 and sorrow.3015

40 He pours8210 contempt937 on princes,5081 and causes them to wander8582 in the wilderness,8414 where there is no3808 way.1870

41 Yet sets he the poor34 on high7682 from affliction,6040 and makes7760 him families4940 like a flock.6629

42 The righteous3477 shall see7200 it, and rejoice:8055 and all iniquity5766 shall stop7092 her mouth.6310

43 Whoever4310 is wise,2450 and will observe8104 these428 things, even they shall understand995 the loving kindness2617 of the LORD.3068

Psalm 107

1 O GIVE thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his mercy endures for ever.

2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

3 And gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the islands in the sea.

4 They were lost in the wilderness in a place without water; they found not the right way to an inhabited town.

5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses,

7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to inhabited villages.

8 Let the righteous of the LORD give thanks to him; for his mercies are upon the children of men!

9 For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness,

10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

11 Because they murmured against the words of God, and scorned the counsel of the most High;

12 Therefore he brought down their hearts with labor; they became weak and there was none to help.

13 Then they prayed to the LORD in their trouble and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands asunder.

15 Let the righteous of the LORD give thanks to him; for his mercies are upon the children of men.

16 For he has broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron asunder.

17 He helped them out of the way of their sins, he relieved them of their afflictions.

18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.

19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from destruction.

21 Let the righteous of the LORD give thanks to him, for his mercies are upon the children of men!

22 Sacrifice to him the sacrifices of praise, and glorify him, O you, his servants, for his wonders.

23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

24 These see the works of the LORD and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the sky; then they go down again to the depths; their soul is troubled within them.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

28 Then they cry to the LORD in their trouble and he brings them out of their distresses.

29 He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he brings them to their desired haven.

31 Let the righteous of the LORD give thanks to him; for his mercies are upon the children of men.

32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33 He turns rivers into a wilderness and the water-springs into dry ground,

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turns the wilderness into pools of water and dry land into watersprings.

36 And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may build villages and settle,

37 And sow the fields and plant vineyards, and eat of the fruits thereof.

38 He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffers not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are diminished and humbled through oppression, affliction, and misery.

40 He pours contempt upon rulers, and causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way.

41 He strengthens the poor and he multiplies their families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice; and all the ungodly shall shut their mouths.

43 Whosoever is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
