Chapter 11

1 Open6605 thy doors,1817 O Lebanon,3844 that the fire784 may devour398 thy cedars.730

2 Howl,3213 fir tree;1265 for3588 the cedar730 is fallen;5307 because834 the mighty117 are spoiled:7703 howl,3213 O ye oaks437 of Bashan;1316 for3588 the forest3293 of the vintage1208 is come down.3381

3 There is a voice6963 of the howling3215 of the shepherds;7462 for3588 their glory155 is spoiled:7703 a voice6963 of the roaring7581 of young lions;3715 for3588 the pride1347 of Jordan3383 is spoiled.7703

4 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 my God;430 Feed7462 853 the flock6629 of the slaughter;2028

5 Whose834 possessors7069 slay2026 them, and hold themselves not guilty:816 3808 and they that sell4376 them say,559 Blessed1288 be the LORD;3068 for I am rich:6238 and their own shepherds7462 pity2550 5921 them not.3808

6 For3588 I will no3808 more5750 pity2550 5921 the inhabitants3427 of the land,776 saith5002 the LORD:3068 but, lo,2009 I595 will deliver4672 853 the men120 every one376 into his neighbor's7453 hand,3027 and into the hand3027 of his king:4428 and they shall smite3807 853 the land,776 and out of their hand4480 3027 I will not3808 deliver5337 them.

7 And I will feed7462 853 the flock6629 of slaughter,2028 even you, O poor6041 of the flock.6629 And I took3947 unto me two8147 staves;4731 the one259 I called7121 Beauty,5278 and the other259 I called7121 Bands;2256 and I fed7462 853 the flock.6629

8 853 Three7969 shepherds7462 also I cut off3582 in one259 month;3391 and my soul5315 loathed7114 them, and their soul5315 also1571 abhorred973 me.

9 Then said559 I, I will not3808 feed7462 you: that that dieth,4191 let it die;4191 and that that is to be cut off,3582 let it be cut off;3582 and let the rest7604 eat398 every one802 853 the flesh1320 of another.7468

10 And I took3947 853 my staff,4731 even853 Beauty,5278 and cut it asunder,1438 853 that I might break6565 853 my covenant1285 which834 I had made3772 with854 all3605 the people.5971

11 And it was broken6565 in that1931 day:3117 and so3651 the poor6041 of the flock6629 that waited upon8104 me knew3045 that3588 it1931 was the word1697 of the LORD.3068

12 And I said559 unto413 them, If518 ye think good,2895 5869 give3051 me my price;7939 and if518 not,3808 forbear.2308 So they weighed for8254 853 my price7939 thirty7970 pieces of silver.3701

13 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Cast7993 it unto413 the potter:3335 a goodly145 price3366 that834 I was prised at3365 of4480 5921 them. And I took3947 the thirty7970 pieces of silver,3701 and cast7993 them to413 the potter3335 in the house1004 of the LORD.3068

14 Then I cut asunder1438 853 mine other8145 staff,4731 853 even Bands,2256 that I might break6565 853 the brotherhood264 between996 Judah3063 and Israel.3478

15 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Take3947 unto thee yet5750 the instruments3627 of a foolish196 shepherd.7462

16 For,3588 lo,2009 I595 will raise6965 up a shepherd7462 in the land,776 which shall not3808 visit6485 those that be cut off,3582 neither3808 shall seek1245 the young one,5289 nor3808 heal7495 that that is broken,7665 nor3808 feed3557 that that standeth still:5324 but he shall eat398 the flesh1320 of the fat,1277 and tear their claws in pieces.6561 6541

17 Woe1945 to the idol457 shepherd7473 that leaveth5800 the flock!6629 the sword2719 shall be upon5921 his arm,2220 and upon5921 his right3225 eye:5869 his arm2220 shall be clean dried up,3001 3001 and his right3225 eye5869 shall be utterly darkened.3543 3543

Chapter 11

1 OPEN your doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour your cedars.

2 Wail, O fir tree; for the cedar has fallen and the mighty are plundered! Wail, O oaks of Bashan; for the mighty forest has fallen!

3 There is a voice of the howling of shepherds; for their glory is ruined; a voice of the roaring of the lions; because the forest of Jordan is spoiled.

4 Thus says the LORD my God: Feed the lean flock

5 Whose buyers slaughter them, and hold themselves not guilty; and those who sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for he has enriched us; and their own shepherds have no pity on them.

6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD: but, 1o, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbor's hand and into the hand of his king; and they shall divide the land, and I will not deliver it from their hands.

7 So I fed the lean flock, for there were many sheep; and I took two staffs; the one I called Pleasant and the other I called Cord, and I fed the flock.

8 Three shepherds I did away with in one month; and my soul was wearied of them, and their soul also howled against me.

9 Then I said, I will not feed you; that which dies, let it die; and that which is to be lost, let it be lost; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

10 And I took my staff, even Pleasant, and I broke it, thus nullifying the covenant which I had with all the peoples.

11 And it was nullified in that very day; and so the meek of the flock who were watching me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

12 And I said to them, If it seems good in your sight, give me my wages; and if not, then you are doing me injustice. So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.

13 And the LORD said to me, Cast it into the treasury; a goodly price that I was prized at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver and cast them into the treasury in the house of the LORD.

14 Then I broke my other staff, even Measuring-line, that I might nullify the agreements between Judah and Israel.

15 And the LORD said to me, Take to yourself the clothes of a foolish shepherd.

16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land who shall not search for those that are lost, neither shall seek those that have gone astray nor bind those that are broken nor heal those that are sick nor feed those that stand still; but he shall eat the flesh of the fat and break off their shanks.

17 Woe to you, O foolish shepherd, for you have left the flock neglected on your side and before your eyes! Let your right arm be withered and your right eye be blinded.
