2 And1161 the3588 barbarous people915 showed3930 us2254 no3756 little5177 kindness:5363 for1063 they kindled381 a fire,4443 and received4355 us2248 every one,3956 because1223 of the3588 present2186 rain,5205 and2532 because1223 of the3588 cold.5592

3 And1161 when Paul3972 had gathered4962 a bundle4128 of sticks,5434 and2532 laid2007 them on1909 the3588 fire,4443 there came1831 a viper2191 out of1537 the3588 heat,2329 and fastened2510 on his848 hand.5495

4 And1161 when5613 the3588 barbarians915 saw1492 the3588 venomous beast2342 hang2910 on1537 his848 hand,5495 they said3004 among4314 themselves,240 No doubt3843 this3778 man444 is2076 a murderer,5406 whom,3739 though he hath escaped1295 the3588 sea,2281 yet vengeance1349 suffereth1439 not3756 to live.2198

6 Howbeit1161 they3588 looked4328 when he846 should3195 have swollen,4092 or2228 fallen down2667 dead3498 suddenly:869 but1161 after they846 had looked4328 a great while,1909 4183 and2532 saw2334 no harm3367 824 come1096 to1519 him,846 they changed their minds,3328 and said3004 that he846 was1511 a god.2316

7 1161 In1722 the3588 same quarters4012 1565 5117 were5225 possessions5564 of the3588 chief man4413 of the3588 island,3520 whose name3686 was Publius;4196 who3739 received324 us,2248 and lodged3579 us three5140 days2250 courteously.5390

8 And1161 it came to pass,1096 that the3588 father3962 of Publius4196 lay2621 sick4912 of a fever4446 and2532 of a bloody flux:1420 to4314 whom3739 Paul3972 entered in,1525 and2532 prayed,4336 and laid2007 his hands5495 on him,846 and healed2390 him.846

9 So3767 when this5127 was done,1096 others3062 also,2532 which had2192 diseases769 in1722 the3588 island,3520 came,4334 and2532 were healed: 2323

10 Who3739 also2532 honored5092 us2248 with many4183 honors;5091 and2532 when we departed,321 they laded2007 us with such things as were necessary.4314 5532

11 And1161 after3326 three5140 months3376 we departed321 in1722 a ship4143 of Alexandria,222 which had wintered3914 in1722 the3588 isle,3520 whose sign3902 was Castor and Pollux.1359

12 And2532 landing2609 at1519 Syracuse,4946 we tarried1961 there three5140 days.2250

13 And from thence3606 we fetched a compass,4022 and came2658 to1519 Rhegium:4484 and2532 after3326 one3391 day2250 the south wind3558 blew,1920 and we came2064 the next day1206 to1519 Puteoli: 4223

14 Where3757 we found2147 brethren,80 and were desired3870 to tarry1961 with1909 them846 seven2033 days:2250 and2532 so3779 we went2064 toward1519 Rome.4516

15 And from thence,2547 when the3588 brethren80 heard191 of4012 us,2257 they came1831 to1519 meet529 us2254 as far as891 Appii675 Forum,5410 and2532 The Three5140 Taverns:4999 whom3739 when Paul3972 saw,1492 he thanked2168 God,2316 and took2983 courage.2294

17 And1161 it came to pass,1096 that after3326 three5140 days2250 Paul3972 called the chief of the Jews together:4779 3588 5607 4413 3588 2453 and1161 when they848 were come together,4905 he said3004 unto4314 them,846 Men435 and brethren,80 though I1473 have committed4160 nothing3762 against1727 the3588 people,2992 or2228 customs1485 of our fathers,3971 yet was I delivered3860 prisoner1198 from1537 Jerusalem2414 into1519 the3588 hands5495 of the3588 Romans.4514

18 Who,3748 when they had examined350 me,3165 would1014 have let me go,630 because there was5225 no3367 cause156 of death2288 in1722 me.1698

19 But1161 when the3588 Jews2453 spake against483 it, I was constrained315 to appeal unto1941 Caesar;2541 not3756 that5613 I had2192 aught5100 to accuse2723 my3450 nation1484 of.

20 For1223 this5026 cause156 therefore3767 have I called3870 for you,5209 to see1492 you, and2532 to speak with4354 you: because1752 that for1063 the3588 hope1680 of Israel2474 I am bound4029 with this5026 chain.254

21 And1161 they3588 said2036 unto4314 him,846 We2249 neither3777 received1209 letters1121 out of575 Judea2449 concerning4012 thee,4675 neither3777 any5100 of the3588 brethren80 that came3854 showed518 or2228 spake2980 any5100 harm4190 of4012 thee.4675

22 But1161 we desire515 to hear191 of3844 thee4675 what3739 thou thinkest:5426 for1063 as3303 concerning4012 this5026 sect,139 we2254 know2076 1110 that3754 every where3837 it is spoken against.483

23 And1161 when they had appointed5021 him846 a day,2250 there came2240 many4119 to4314 him846 into1519 his lodging;3578 to whom3739 he expounded1620 and testified1263 the3588 kingdom932 of God,2316 5037 persuading3982 them846 concerning4012 Jesus,2424 both5037 out of575 the3588 law3551 of Moses,3475 and2532 out of the3588 prophets,4396 from575 morning4404 till2193 evening.2073

26 saying,3004 Go4198 unto4314 this5126 people,2992 and2532 say,2036 Hearing189 ye shall hear,191 and2532 shall not3364 understand;4920 and2532 seeing991 ye shall see,991 and2532 not3364 perceive: 1492

27 For1063 the3588 heart2588 of this5127 people2992 is waxed gross,3975 and2532 their ears3775 are dull of hearing,191 917 and2532 their848 eyes3788 have they closed;2576 lest3379 they should see1492 with their eyes,3788 and2532 hear191 with their ears,3775 and2532 understand4920 with their heart,2588 and2532 should be converted,1994 and2532 I should heal2390 them.846

28 Be2077 it known1110 therefore3767 unto you,5213 that3754 the3588 salvation4992 of God2316 is sent649 unto the3588 Gentiles,1484 and2532 that they846 will hear191 it.

29 And2532 when he846 had said2036 these words,5023 the3588 Jews2453 departed,565 and had2192 great4183 reasoning4803 among1722 themselves.1438

30 And1161 Paul3972 dwelt3306 two whole years1333 3650 in1722 his own2398 hired house,3410 and2532 received588 all3956 that came in1531 unto4314 him,846

31 Preaching2784 the3588 kingdom932 of God,2316 and2532 teaching1321 those things3588 which concern4012 the3588 Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547 with3326 all3956 confidence,3954 no man forbidding him.209

2 Туземцы стали проявлять к нам необычайное человеколюбие, ибо они, разведя костер, приняли всех нас, по случаю непрекращавшегося дождя и холода.

3 Когда же Павел набрал некоторое количество хвороста и положил на костер, вышедшая от жара змея впилась ему в руку.

4 И когда увидели туземцы висящего на его руке гада, они говорили друг другу: конечно, убийца этот человек, которому, после того как он спасен был от моря, Правосудие не позволило жить.

5 Но он, стряхнув гада в огонь, не потерпел никакого зла.

6 Они же ожидали, что он распухнет или внезапно упадет мертвым. Но так как они ждали долго и видели, что ничего дурного с ним не происходит, то, изменив свое мнение, говорили, что он бог.

7 В окрестностях того места были имения у начальника острова, по имени Публия, который, приняв нас, в течение трех дней оказывал нам дружеское гостеприимство.

8 Было же, что отец Публия лежал одержимый лихорадкой и дизентерией. Павел, войдя к нему и помолившись, возложил на него руки и исцелил его.

9 Когда же это случилось, то прочие на острове, имевшие болезни, приходили и были исцеляемы.

10 Они и почтили нас многими почестями и, при отъезде, дали нам на нужды.

11 А через три месяца мы отплыли на перезимовавшем на острове Александрийском корабле, носившем имя Диоскуров.

12 И пристав в Сиракузах, пробыли три дня,

13 откуда, идя вдоль берега, достигли Ригия. И так как через день поднялся южный ветер, мы прибыли на второй день в Путеолы,

14 где нашли братьев; они нас упросили остаться у них семь дней. И так мы пошли в Рим.

15 И оттуда братья, услышав о нас, пошли к нам навстречу до Аппиева Форума и Трех Таверн. Увидев их, Павел возблагодарил Бога и ободрился.

16 Когда же вошли мы в Рим, Павлу позволено было жить особо со стерегущим его воином.

17 Было же через три дня, что он созвал тех, которые были первыми среди Иудеев, и когда они сошлись, он начал говорить им: я, мужи братья, не сделав ничего против народа или отеческих обычаев, был, как узник, из Иерусалима предан в руки Римлян,

18 которые, допросив меня, хотели отпустить, потому что нет за мной никакой вины, заслуживающей смерти.

19 Но так как Иудеи возражали, я вынужден был потребовать суда Кесаря, не с тем, чтобы обвинять в чем-либо народ мой.

20 По этой-то причине я и призвал вас, чтобы увидеть вас и поговорить с вами; ибо за надежду Израиля обложен я этой цепью.

21 Они же сказали ему: мы никаких писем о тебе не получили из Иудеи, и никто из братьев, придя, не возвестил или не сказал чего-либо о тебе плохого.

22 Но мы считаем уместным услышать от тебя, как ты мыслишь; ибо об этом направлении нам известно, что оно всюду вызывает споры.

23 И назначив ему день, они пришли к нему на дом в большем числе, и он с утра до вечера говорил им, свидетельствуя о Царстве Божием, и убеждая их об Иисусе из Закона Моисеева и из Пророков.

24 И одни убеждались тем, что говорилось, а другие не верили.

25 Будучи же несогласны между собой, они стали уходить после того, как Павел сказал им одно слово: хорошо изрек Дух Святой чрез Исаию пророка отцам вашим, говоря:

26 «Пойди к народу этому и скажи: Слухом будете слышать и не уразумеете, и глазами глядеть будете и не увидите;

27 ибо ожирело сердце народа этого, и ушами они едва слышат, и глаза свои они закрыли, чтобы не увидеть глазами и ушами не услышать и сердцем не уразуметь и не обратиться. И Я исцелю их».

28 Итак, да будет вам известно, что язычникам послано это спасение Божие: они и услышат.

30 И прожил Павел целых два года в нанятом им самим помещении и принимал всех приходивших к нему,

31 проповедуя Царство Божие и уча о Господе Иисусе Христе со всяким дерзновением беспрепятственно.

9 Когда же это случилось, то прочие на острове, имевшие болезни, приходили и были исцеляемы.

16 Когда же вошли мы в Рим, Павлу позволено было жить особо со стерегущим его воином.

17 And1161 it came to pass,1096 that after3326 three5140 days2250 Paul3972 called the chief of the Jews together:4779 3588 5607 4413 3588 2453 and1161 when they848 were come together,4905 he said3004 unto4314 them,846 Men435 and brethren,80 though I1473 have committed4160 nothing3762 against1727 the3588 people,2992 or2228 customs1485 of our fathers,3971 yet was I delivered3860 prisoner1198 from1537 Jerusalem2414 into1519 the3588 hands5495 of the3588 Romans.4514

17 Было же через три дня, что он созвал тех, которые были первыми среди Иудеев, и когда они сошлись, он начал говорить им: я, мужи братья, не сделав ничего против народа или отеческих обычаев, был, как узник, из Иерусалима предан в руки Римлян,

18 Who,3748 when they had examined350 me,3165 would1014 have let me go,630 because there was5225 no3367 cause156 of death2288 in1722 me.1698

18 которые, допросив меня, хотели отпустить, потому что нет за мной никакой вины, заслуживающей смерти.

19 Но так как Иудеи возражали, я вынужден был потребовать суда Кесаря, не с тем, чтобы обвинять в чем-либо народ мой.

20 For1223 this5026 cause156 therefore3767 have I called3870 for you,5209 to see1492 you, and2532 to speak with4354 you: because1752 that for1063 the3588 hope1680 of Israel2474 I am bound4029 with this5026 chain.254

20 По этой-то причине я и призвал вас, чтобы увидеть вас и поговорить с вами; ибо за надежду Израиля обложен я этой цепью.

21 And1161 they3588 said2036 unto4314 him,846 We2249 neither3777 received1209 letters1121 out of575 Judea2449 concerning4012 thee,4675 neither3777 any5100 of the3588 brethren80 that came3854 showed518 or2228 spake2980 any5100 harm4190 of4012 thee.4675

21 Они же сказали ему: мы никаких писем о тебе не получили из Иудеи, и никто из братьев, придя, не возвестил или не сказал чего-либо о тебе плохого.

22 But1161 we desire515 to hear191 of3844 thee4675 what3739 thou thinkest:5426 for1063 as3303 concerning4012 this5026 sect,139 we2254 know2076 1110 that3754 every where3837 it is spoken against.483

22 Но мы считаем уместным услышать от тебя, как ты мыслишь; ибо об этом направлении нам известно, что оно всюду вызывает споры.

23 И назначив ему день, они пришли к нему на дом в большем числе, и он с утра до вечера говорил им, свидетельствуя о Царстве Божием, и убеждая их об Иисусе из Закона Моисеева и из Пророков.

24 And2532 some3588 3303 believed3982 the things which were spoken,3004 and1161 some3588 believed not.569

24 И одни убеждались тем, что говорилось, а другие не верили.

25 Будучи же несогласны между собой, они стали уходить после того, как Павел сказал им одно слово: хорошо изрек Дух Святой чрез Исаию пророка отцам вашим, говоря:

26 saying,3004 Go4198 unto4314 this5126 people,2992 and2532 say,2036 Hearing189 ye shall hear,191 and2532 shall not3364 understand;4920 and2532 seeing991 ye shall see,991 and2532 not3364 perceive: 1492

26 «Пойди к народу этому и скажи: Слухом будете слышать и не уразумеете, и глазами глядеть будете и не увидите;

27 For1063 the3588 heart2588 of this5127 people2992 is waxed gross,3975 and2532 their ears3775 are dull of hearing,191 917 and2532 their848 eyes3788 have they closed;2576 lest3379 they should see1492 with their eyes,3788 and2532 hear191 with their ears,3775 and2532 understand4920 with their heart,2588 and2532 should be converted,1994 and2532 I should heal2390 them.846

27 ибо ожирело сердце народа этого, и ушами они едва слышат, и глаза свои они закрыли, чтобы не увидеть глазами и ушами не услышать и сердцем не уразуметь и не обратиться. И Я исцелю их».

28 Итак, да будет вам известно, что язычникам послано это спасение Божие: они и услышат.

30 И прожил Павел целых два года в нанятом им самим помещении и принимал всех приходивших к нему,
