2 (After that310 Jeconiah3204 the king,4428 and the queen,1377 and the eunuchs,5631 the princes8269 of Judah3063 and Jerusalem,3389 and the carpenters,2796 and the smiths,4525 were departed3318 from Jerusalem;)4480 3389

3 By the hand3027 of Elasah501 the son1121 of Shaphan,8227 and Gemariah1587 the son1121 of Hilkiah,2518 (whom834 Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah3063 sent7971 unto Babylon894 to413 Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon)894 saying,559

4 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel,3478 unto all3605 that are carried away captives,1473 whom834 I have caused to be carried away1540 from Jerusalem4480 3389 unto Babylon;894

5 Build1129 ye houses,1004 and dwell3427 in them; and plant5193 gardens,1593 and eat398 853 the fruit6529 of them;

6 Take3947 ye wives,802 and beget3205 sons1121 and daughters;1323 and take3947 wives802 for your sons,1121 and give5414 your daughters1323 to husbands,376 that they may bear3205 sons1121 and daughters;1323 that ye may be increased7235 there,8033 and not408 diminished.4591

7 And seek1875 853 the peace7965 of the city5892 whither834 8033 I have caused you to be carried away captives,1540 and pray6419 unto413 the LORD3068 for1157 it: for3588 in the peace7965 thereof shall ye have1961 peace.7965

8 For3588 thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel;3478 Let not408 your prophets5030 and your diviners,7080 that834 be in the midst7130 of you, deceive5377 you, neither408 hearken8085 to413 your dreams2472 which834 ye859 cause to be dreamed.2492

9 For3588 they1992 prophesy5012 falsely8267 unto you in my name:8034 I have not3808 sent7971 them, saith5002 the LORD.3068

10 For3588 thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 That3588 after6310 seventy7657 years8141 be accomplished4390 at Babylon894 I will visit6485 you, and perform6965 853 my good2896 word1697 toward5921 you, in causing you to return7725 853 to413 this2088 place.4725

11 For3588 I595 know3045 853 the thoughts4284 that834 I595 think2803 toward5921 you, saith5002 the LORD,3068 thoughts4284 of peace,7965 and not3808 of evil,7451 to give5414 you an expected8615 end.319

12 Then shall ye call upon7121 me, and ye shall go1980 and pray6419 unto413 me, and I will hearken8085 unto413 you.

13 And ye shall seek1245 me, and find4672 me, when3588 ye shall search for1875 me with all3605 your heart.3824

14 And I will be found4672 of you, saith5002 the LORD:3068 and I will turn away7725 853 your captivity,7622 and I will gather6908 you from all4480 3605 the nations,1471 and from all4480 3605 the places4725 whither834 8033 I have driven5080 you, saith5002 the LORD;3068 and I will bring you again7725 853 into413 the place4725 whence834 4480 8033 I caused you to be carried away captive.1540

15 Because3588 ye have said,559 The LORD3068 hath raised us up6965 prophets5030 in Babylon;894

16 Know that3588 thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of413 the king4428 that sitteth3427 upon413 the throne3678 of David,1732 and of413 all3605 the people5971 that dwelleth3427 in this2063 city,5892 and of your brethren251 that834 are not3808 gone forth3318 with854 you into captivity;1473

17 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts;6635 Behold,2009 I will send7971 upon them853 the sword,2719 853 the famine,7458 and the pestilence,1698 and will make5414 them like vile8182 figs,8384 that834 cannot3808 be eaten,398 they are so evil.4480 7455

18 And I will persecute7291 310 them with the sword,2719 with the famine,7458 and with the pestilence,1698 and will deliver5414 them to be removed2189 to all3605 the kingdoms4467 of the earth,776 to be a curse,423 and an astonishment,8047 and a hissing,8322 and a reproach,2781 among all3605 the nations1471 whither834 8033 I have driven5080 them:

19 Because8478 834 they have not3808 hearkened8085 to413 my words,1697 saith5002 the LORD,3068 which834 I sent7971 unto413 them by853 my servants5650 the prophets,5030 rising up early7925 and sending7971 them; but ye would not3808 hear,8085 saith5002 the LORD.3068

20 Hear8085 ye859 therefore the word1697 of the LORD,3068 all3605 ye of the captivity,1473 whom834 I have sent7971 from Jerusalem4480 3389 to Babylon: 894

21 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel,3478 of413 Ahab256 the son1121 of Kolaiah,6964 and of413 Zedekiah6667 the son1121 of Maaseiah,4641 which prophesy5012 a lie8267 unto you in my name;8034 Behold,2009 I will deliver5414 them into the hand3027 of Nebuchadnezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon;894 and he shall slay5221 them before your eyes;5869

22 And of4480 them shall be taken up3947 a curse7045 by all3605 the captivity1546 of Judah3063 which834 are in Babylon,894 saying,559 The LORD3068 make7760 thee like Zedekiah6667 and like Ahab,256 whom834 the king4428 of Babylon894 roasted7033 in the fire;784

23 Because3282 834 they have committed6213 villainy5039 in Israel,3478 and have committed adultery5003 with854 their neighbors'7453 wives,802 and have spoken1696 lying8267 words1697 in my name,8034 which834 I have not3808 commanded6680 them; even I595 know,3045 and am a witness,5707 saith5002 the LORD.3068

24 Thus shalt thou also speak559 to413 Shemaiah8098 the Nehelamite,5161 saying,559

25 Thus3541 speaketh559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Because3282 834 thou859 hast sent7971 letters5612 in thy name8034 unto413 all3605 the people5971 that834 are at Jerusalem,3389 and to413 Zephaniah6846 the son1121 of Maaseiah4641 the priest,3548 and to413 all3605 the priests,3548 saying,559

26 The LORD3068 hath made5414 thee priest3548 in the stead of8478 Jehoiada3077 the priest,3548 that ye should be1961 officers6496 in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 for every3605 man376 that is mad,7696 and maketh himself a prophet,5012 that thou shouldest put5414 him in413 prison,4115 and in413 the stocks.6729

27 Now6258 therefore why4100 hast thou not3808 reproved1605 Jeremiah3414 of Anathoth,6069 which maketh himself a prophet5012 to you?

28 For3588 therefore5921 3651 he sent7971 unto413 us in Babylon,894 saying,559 This1931 captivity is long:752 build1129 ye houses,1004 and dwell3427 in them; and plant5193 gardens,1593 and eat398 853 the fruit6529 of them.

29 And Zephaniah6846 the priest3548 read7121 853 this2088 letter5612 in the ears241 of Jeremiah3414 the prophet.5030

30 Then came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 unto413 Jeremiah,3414 saying,559

31 Send7971 to5921 all3605 them of the captivity,1473 saying,559 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 concerning413 Shemaiah8098 the Nehelamite;5161 Because3283 834 that Shemaiah8098 hath prophesied5012 unto you, and I589 sent7971 him not,3808 and he caused you to trust982 853 in5921 a lie: 8267

32 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the LORD;3068 Behold,2009 I will punish6485 5921 Shemaiah8098 the Nehelamite,5161 and his seed:2233 he shall not3808 have1961 a man376 to dwell3427 among8432 this2088 people;5971 neither3808 shall he behold7200 the good2896 that834 I589 will do6213 for my people,5971 saith5002 the LORD;3068 because3588 he hath taught1696 rebellion5627 against5921 the LORD.3068

1 Иеремия послал письмо пленникам в Вавилон: старейшинам, священникам, пророкам и всем людям, которых Навуходоносор увёл из Иерусалима в Вавилон.

2 (Это письмо было послано после того, как царь Иехония, царица-мать, правители и старейшины Иудеи и Иерусалима, плотники и кузнецы были уведены из Иерусалима).

3 Седекия послал Эласу и Гемарию к царю Навуходоносору. Седекия был царём Иудеи, Эласа был сыном Шафана, Гемария был сыном Хелкии. Иеремия отдал им письмо. Вот что было в этом письме:

4 Господь Всемогущий, Бог Израиля, говорит это всем, кого Он отправил в вавилонский плен:

5 «Постройте дома и живите в них, обживитесь, посадите сады и ешьте то, что вырастите,

6 женитесь и рожайте сыновей и дочерей, найдите жён для ваших сыновей и выдавайте замуж ваших дочерей. Делайте так, чтобы и у них было много сыновей и дочерей, имейте много детей, пусть ваши семьи растут в Вавилоне, а не уменьшаются.

7 Делайте добрые дела для города, куда Я вас направил, молитесь Господу за город, в котором вы живёте, потому что если в городе будет мир, то мир будет и у вас».

8 Господь Всемогущий, Бог Израиля, говорит: «Не позволяйте вашим пророкам и чародеям одурачивать вас, не обращайте внимания на те сны, которые снятся им.

9 Они проповедуют ложь и твердят, что это весть от Меня, но Я не посылал её».

10 Вот что говорит Господь: «Вавилон будет могущественным городом в течение семидесяти лет, после этого Я приду к вам, жители Вавилона. Я сдержу Своё обещание и возвращу вас в Иерусалим.

11 Я так говорю, потому что знаю Свои планы». Господь сказал: «Я хочу, чтобы Мои планы были вам во благо, а не во зло. Я намерен дать вам надежду и успех во всех делах.

12 Затем вы назовёте имя Моё, вы придёте ко Мне и будете Мне молиться, и Я выслушаю вас.

13 Вы будете искать Меня, и когда вы будете делать это всем сердцем, то обязательно найдёте Меня.

14 Я дам вам возможность найти Меня». Вот что сказал Господь: «Я выведу вас из плена. Я изгнал вас из этой земли, но Я соберу вас отовсюду, из всех стран и народов, куда Я вас послал, и приведу вас обратно».

15 Вы скажете: «Но Господь дал нам здесь, в Вавилоне, пророков».

16 Вот что говорит Господь о тех, кто не был угнан в Вавилон. Я говорю о царе, сидящем сейчас на троне Давида, и о других людях, которые сейчас живут в Иерусалиме.

17 Господь Всемогущий говорит: «Я скоро пошлю войну, голод и страшные болезни тем, кто находится в Иерусалиме, и Я сделаю их такими же, как гнилая фига, которую есть нельзя.

18 Я буду преследовать их мечом, голодом, страшными болезнями и сделаю так, что все царства на земле будут напуганы тем, что случилось с этим народом. Эти люди будут уничтожены, и другие народы будут присвистывать, поражаясь тому, что там случилось. И станут они примером для тех, кто накликает несчастье на других. Люди будут их оскорблять повсюду, куда Я их приведу.

19 Я сделаю так, потому что народ Иерусалима не слушал Мои послания, которые Я посылал им одно за другим через Моих слуг-пророков, но люди не слушали». Так говорит Господь:

20 «Вы, пленники, которых Я заставил покинуть Иерусалим и пойти в Вавилон, слушайте весть Господнюю.

21 Господь Всемогущий говорит это об Ахаве, сыне Колаии, и Седекии, сыне Маасеи, которые проповедовали вам ложь, утверждая, что она пришла от Господа, но они лгали. Я отдам этих двух пророков Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона, и он их убьёт на глазах у всех пленников Вавилона.

22 Все иудейские пленники будут иметь в лице их пример, когда будут просить, чтобы с другими людьми случилось плохое. Они скажут: „Пусть поступит Господь с тобой так же, как с Ахавом и Седекией. Царь Вавилона, Навуходоносор, сжёг их на костре!”

23 Те пророки вредили людям Израиля, они грешили прелюбодеянием с соседскими жёнами и лгали, утверждая, что это весть была послана Мной. Я не велел им делать этого, Я знаю, что сделали они, Я тому свидетель». Так говорит Господь.

24 Передайте весть Шемаии из рода Нехелам, что

25 Господь Всемогущий, Бог Израиля, говорит: «Ты направил письма всем людям Иерусалима, священнику Софонии, сыну Маасеи, и всем священникам, но ты послал их от своего имени, а не от имени Господа.

26 Вот что ты говорил в письме к Софонии: „Софония, Господь сделал тебя священником вместо Иодая, ты должен быть ответственным за храм Божий и сажать в темницу каждого, кто ведёт себя как сумасшедший, выдавая себя за пророка. Ты должен надеть на ноги такого человека деревянные колодки, а на шею ему — железный хомут.

27 Иеремия анафофянин ведёт себя так, будто он пророк. Почему ты его не арестовал?

28 Иеремия послал эту весть нам в Вавилон: „Вы будете там долго, поэтому стройте дома и обживайтесь, сажайте сады и ешьте то, что сами вырастите”».

29 Священник Софония прочитал вслух это письмо пророку Иеремии.

30 После этого к Иеремии пришла весть от Господа:

31 «Иеремия, пошли весть всем пленникам Вавилона. Вот что Господь говорит о Шемаии из рода Нехелам: „Шемаия вам проповедовал, хотя Я его не посылал. Шемаия заставил вас поверить в ложь.

32 Поскольку он сделал это, Господь сказал: „Я скоро накажу Шемаию из рода Нехелам. Я полностью уничтожу его семью, и он не увидит добро, которое Я принесу Моему народу. Я накажу Шемаию потому, что он учил людей идти против Господа. Так сказал Господь”».

11 Я так говорю, потому что знаю Свои планы». Господь сказал: «Я хочу, чтобы Мои планы были вам во благо, а не во зло. Я намерен дать вам надежду и успех во всех делах.

14 Я дам вам возможность найти Меня». Вот что сказал Господь: «Я выведу вас из плена. Я изгнал вас из этой земли, но Я соберу вас отовсюду, из всех стран и народов, куда Я вас послал, и приведу вас обратно».

22 Все иудейские пленники будут иметь в лице их пример, когда будут просить, чтобы с другими людьми случилось плохое. Они скажут: „Пусть поступит Господь с тобой так же, как с Ахавом и Седекией. Царь Вавилона, Навуходоносор, сжёг их на костре!”

23 Because3282 834 they have committed6213 villainy5039 in Israel,3478 and have committed adultery5003 with854 their neighbors'7453 wives,802 and have spoken1696 lying8267 words1697 in my name,8034 which834 I have not3808 commanded6680 them; even I595 know,3045 and am a witness,5707 saith5002 the LORD.3068

23 Те пророки вредили людям Израиля, они грешили прелюбодеянием с соседскими жёнами и лгали, утверждая, что это весть была послана Мной. Я не велел им делать этого, Я знаю, что сделали они, Я тому свидетель». Так говорит Господь.

25 Thus3541 speaketh559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Because3282 834 thou859 hast sent7971 letters5612 in thy name8034 unto413 all3605 the people5971 that834 are at Jerusalem,3389 and to413 Zephaniah6846 the son1121 of Maaseiah4641 the priest,3548 and to413 all3605 the priests,3548 saying,559

25 Господь Всемогущий, Бог Израиля, говорит: «Ты направил письма всем людям Иерусалима, священнику Софонии, сыну Маасеи, и всем священникам, но ты послал их от своего имени, а не от имени Господа.

26 The LORD3068 hath made5414 thee priest3548 in the stead of8478 Jehoiada3077 the priest,3548 that ye should be1961 officers6496 in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 for every3605 man376 that is mad,7696 and maketh himself a prophet,5012 that thou shouldest put5414 him in413 prison,4115 and in413 the stocks.6729

26 Вот что ты говорил в письме к Софонии: „Софония, Господь сделал тебя священником вместо Иодая, ты должен быть ответственным за храм Божий и сажать в темницу каждого, кто ведёт себя как сумасшедший, выдавая себя за пророка. Ты должен надеть на ноги такого человека деревянные колодки, а на шею ему — железный хомут.

27 Now6258 therefore why4100 hast thou not3808 reproved1605 Jeremiah3414 of Anathoth,6069 which maketh himself a prophet5012 to you?

27 Иеремия анафофянин ведёт себя так, будто он пророк. Почему ты его не арестовал?

28 For3588 therefore5921 3651 he sent7971 unto413 us in Babylon,894 saying,559 This1931 captivity is long:752 build1129 ye houses,1004 and dwell3427 in them; and plant5193 gardens,1593 and eat398 853 the fruit6529 of them.

28 Иеремия послал эту весть нам в Вавилон: „Вы будете там долго, поэтому стройте дома и обживайтесь, сажайте сады и ешьте то, что сами вырастите”».

31 «Иеремия, пошли весть всем пленникам Вавилона. Вот что Господь говорит о Шемаии из рода Нехелам: „Шемаия вам проповедовал, хотя Я его не посылал. Шемаия заставил вас поверить в ложь.

32 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the LORD;3068 Behold,2009 I will punish6485 5921 Shemaiah8098 the Nehelamite,5161 and his seed:2233 he shall not3808 have1961 a man376 to dwell3427 among8432 this2088 people;5971 neither3808 shall he behold7200 the good2896 that834 I589 will do6213 for my people,5971 saith5002 the LORD;3068 because3588 he hath taught1696 rebellion5627 against5921 the LORD.3068

32 Поскольку он сделал это, Господь сказал: „Я скоро накажу Шемаию из рода Нехелам. Я полностью уничтожу его семью, и он не увидит добро, которое Я принесу Моему народу. Я накажу Шемаию потому, что он учил людей идти против Господа. Так сказал Господь”».
