5 That3588 the triumphing7445 of the wicked7563is short,44807138 and the joy8057 of the hypocrite2611but for5704 a moment?7281
6 Though518 his excellency7863 mount up5927 to the heavens,8064 and his head7218 reach5060 unto the clouds;5645
7 Yet he shall perish6 forever5331 like his own dung:1561 they which have seen7200 him shall say,559 Where335is he?
8 He shall fly away5774 as a dream,2472 and shall not3808 be found:4672 yea, he shall be chased away5074 as a vision2384 of the night.3915

6 И хотя его гордость достигает небес и голова касается облаков,
7 он погибнет навечно, как его отходы, и те, кто видели его, спросят: „Где же он?”
8 Он словно сон улетит, и следов его не найти, исчезнет и будет забыт как ночное видение.
9 Глаза, видевшие его, больше его не увидят, как и семья не увидит его.
10 Его дети будут просить у нищих, и руки его возвратят награбленное им.
11 Сила юности, наполнявшая его кости, вместе с ним ляжет в прах.
12 И хотя сладко во рту его зло и, наслаждаясь, он прячет его под языком,
13 он не может допустить, чтобы исчезло оно, и поэтому держит его во рту.
14 Но со временем эта пища всё же прокиснет в нём и превратится в змеиный яд.
15 Он будет изрыгать проглоченные богатства, Господь заставит всё исторгнуть.
16 И питьё его будет как яд змеиный, и ядовитое жало гадюки его убьёт.
17 Он не обрадуется ручьям и рекам, полным молока и мёда.
18 Все, что он нажил, он должен будет вернуть, ни к чему не притронувшись. Не будет рад он прибылям от своего труда,
19 потому что бедных он угнетал и оставлял в нужде, захватывал дома, которых он не строил.
20 Никогда от желаний своих он не знал покоя, богатство его не спасёт.
21 Ничего больше не осталось, он всё поглотил, но успех его невечен.
22 Несчастья постигнут его посреди благоденствий, и он узнает полную силу страдания.
23 Когда он набьёт своё чрево, Бог пошлёт на него Свой сжигающий гнев, и тогда падёт на него наказание.
24 И хотя избежит он железного меча, бронзовая стрела его пронзит.
25 Бронзовая стрела пронзит его и выйдет из спины; блестящий наконечник пронзит его печень, и он содрогнётся от ужаса.
26 Все богатства его будут разрушены, нечеловеческий огонь всё поглотит, что осталось от дома его.
27 Небеса покажут его вину, и восстанет против него земля.
28 Наводнение унесёт его дом — стремительные воды в день Божьего гнева.
29 Такова судьба, уготованная Богом грешникам, таково их наследство от Бога».
