Chapter 17

1 AND Jesus said to his disciples, It is impossible but that offences should come; but woe to him by whose hand they come!

2 It were better for him that an ass' millstone were hanged on his neck, and he thrown into the sea, than cause one of these little ones to stumble.

3 Beware among yourselves. If your brother should sin, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

4 And if he should offend you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn to you and say, I repent; forgive him.

5 And the apostles said to our Lord, Increase our faith.

6 He said to them, If you have faith, even as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and planted in the sea; it would obey you.

7 Now which of you has a servant who ploughs or feeds sheep, and if he should come from the field, would say to him, Enter in and sit down?

8 But he will rather say to him, Prepare something that I may have my supper, and gird yourself and serve me until I eat and drink; and then you also can eat and drink.

9 Why, will that servant receive praise, because he did what he was commanded to do? I do not think so.

10 Even you also, when you have done all the things which are commanded you, say, We are idle servants; we have only done what was our duty to do.

11 And it came to pass, while Jesus was going to Jerusalem, he passed through Samaritan territory which is towards Galilee.

12 And when he drew near to enter a village, he was met by ten lepers, and they stood afar off;

13 And they lifted their voices saying, O Jesus, our Master, have mercy on us.

14 And when he saw them he said to them, Go, show yourselves to the priests; and while they were going, they were cleansed.

15 But one of them, when he saw that he was cleansed, turned back, and with a loud voice praised God.

16 And he fell on his face at the feet of Jesus, thanking him; and this one was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus answered and said, Were there not ten who were cleansed? where are the nine?

18 Why did they separate themselves so as not to come and give praise to God, except this man who is of a strange people?

19 And he said to him, Arise, go, your faith has healed you.

20 When some of the Pharisees asked Jesus, when the kingdom of God would come, he answered and said to them, The kingdom of God does not come by observation.

21 Neither will they say, Behold, it is here! or, behold, it is there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

22 And he said to his disciples, The days will come when you will covet to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it.

23 And if they should say to you, Behold, he is here! and behold, he is there! do not go.

24 For just as the lightning flashes from the sky, and all under the sky is lightened, such will be the day of the Son of man.

25 But first he must suffer a great many things, and be rejected by this generation.

26 Just as it happened in the days of Noah, such will it be in the days of the Son of man.

27 For they were eating and drinking, and marrying women, and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed every man.

28 And again, just as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating and drinking, and buying and selling, and planting and building;

29 But in the day when Lot went out of Sodom, the Lord sent down a rain of fire and sulphur from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30 Such will it be in the day when the Son of man appears.

31 In that day, he who is on the roof and his clothes in the house, will not come down to take them; and he who is in the field will not return back.

32 Just remember Lot's wife.

33 He who desires to save his life shall lose it; and he who loses his life shall save it.

34 I say to you that in that very night two will be in one bed; one will be taken away, and the other left.

35 And two women will be grinding together; one will be taken away, and the other left.

36 Two will be in the field; one will be taken, and the other left.

37 They answered and said to him, Our Lord, to what place? He said to them, Wherever the corpse is, there will the eagles gather.

1 Иисус сказал Своим ученикам: «Непременно будет что-либо, совращающее человека на грех, но горе человеку, через кого оно приходит!

2 Лучше было бы для него, если бы ему на шею привязали мельничный жёрнов и сбросили его в море, чем чтобы он совратил на грех одного из слабых.

3 Будьте осторожны! Если твой брат согрешит, упрекни его, если же покается, прости.

4 И если он причинит тебе зло семь раз в день и семь раз скажет тебе: „Каюсь”, то прости ему».

5 Тогда апостолы сказали Господу: «Дай нам больше веры».

6 Господь ответил: «Даже если бы ваша вера была с горчичное семя и вы сказали бы этой шелковице: „Вырви свои корни из земли и пересадись в море”, то она послушалась бы вас».

7 «Если у кого-нибудь из вас есть слуга, который пашет или пасёт овец, то когда он вернётся с поля, разве ты скажешь ему: „Заходи и садись за стол”?

8 Ты ему скорее скажешь: „Приготовь мне поесть, потом смени одежду и прислуживай мне, пока я ем и пью, а после и сам можешь есть и пить”.

9 Благодаришь ли ты слугу за то, что тот выполнил приказанное?

10 Так и вы, когда исполните всё приказанное, скажите: „Мы слуги, не заслуживающие никакой благодарности; мы всего лишь исполнили свой долг”».

11 На пути в Иерусалим Иисус проходил между Самарией и Галилеей.

12 И когда Он входил в одно селение, ему встретились десять прокажённых. Стоя в отдалении,

13 они громко звали: «Иисус, Владыка, сжалься над нами!»

14 И, увидев их, Иисус сказал: «Пойдите и покажитесь священникам». Когда они шли к священникам, все десятеро очистились от язв.

15 Но один из них, увидев, что исцелён, вернулся к Иисусу и громким голосом восхвалил Бога

16 и, пав к ногам Иисуса, благодарил Его. Этот человек был самаритянин.

17 Иисус спросил его: «Разве не все десять очистились от язв? Где же остальные девять?

18 Неужели ни один из них не возвратился воздать хвалу Богу, кроме этого самаритянина?»

19 Тогда Иисус сказал ему: «Поднимись и иди! Вера твоя исцелила тебя».

20 Однажды, когда фарисеи спросили у Иисуса, когда настанет Царство Божье, Он ответил им: «Царство Божье уже идёт, но оно настанет незримо.

21 Никому не дано будет сказать: „Смотрите! Оно вот здесь!” или: „Вон там!” — потому что Царство Божье внутри вас».

22 Затем Иисус сказал Своим ученикам: «Настанет время, когда захотите вы увидеть один из дней Сына Человеческого, но не сможете.

23 Тогда люди будут говорить вам: „Смотрите! Оно вот здесь!” или: „Смотрите! Вон там!” — но не идите туда и не следуйте за ними».

24 «Потому что, как молния сверкает и освещает небо от края до края, так и Сын Человеческий воссияет в тот день, когда возвратится.

25 Но прежде должен Он много выстрадать и будет Он отвергнут этим поколением.

26 И как было во времена Ноя, так будет в те дни, когда вернётся Сын Человеческий:

27 все ели, пили, женились и выходили замуж до того дня, когда Ной вошёл в ковчег, и начался потоп, уничтоживший их всех.

28 Будет так же, как было во времена Лота, когда Бог разрушил Содом: все ели, пили, покупали, продавали, сажали и строили дома.

29 Но в день, когда Лот вышел из Содома, пролился с неба дождь из огня и серы и уничтожил их всех.

30 Так же будет и когда явится Сын Человеческий.

31 В тот день, если кто будет на крыше, а имущество его в доме, пусть не спускается вниз, чтобы собрать свои вещи. И если кто будет в поле, пусть не возвращается домой.

32 Вспомните жену Лота.

33 Тот, кто будет стремиться сохранить свою жизнь, потеряет её, а кто потеряет свою жизнь, сохранит её.

34 Говорю вам, если в ту ночь будут двое в одной комнате, то один будет взят, а другой останется.

35 Две женщины будут рядом молоть зерно: одну возьмут, а другая будет оставлена».

36 [И будут два человека в поле: один будет взят, а другой оставлен].

37 Ученики спросили Иисуса: «Где же будет всё это?» Он ответил им: «Там, где лежит труп, всегда соберутся стервятники».
