Chapter 24

1 AND on the first day of the week, early in the morning, while it was yet dark, they came to the tomb, and brought the spices which they had prepared; and there were with them other women.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

3 And they entered in, but they did not find the body of Jesus.

4 And it came to pass as they were confused about this, behold, two men stood above them, and their garments were shining;

5 And they were afraid, and bowed their faces to the ground; and they said to them, Why do you seek the living among the dead?

6 He is not here, he has risen; remember that he spoke to you while he was in Galilee,

7 Saying, that the Son of man had to be delivered into the hands of sinful men,, and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.

8 And they remembered his words.

9 And they returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and to the rest.

10 They were Mary of Magdala, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the rest who were with them, who told these things to the apostles.

11 And these words appeared in their eyes as delusions; and they did not believe them.

12 But Simon rose up and ran to the tomb; and he looked in and saw the linen laid by itself, and he went away wondering in himself concerning what had happened.

13 And behold two of them were going on that day to a village called Emmaus, about six miles from Jerusalem.

14 They were talking with each other concerning all these things that had happened.

15 And while they were speaking and asking each other, Jesus came and overtook them, and walked with them.

16 But the sight of their eyes was holden, so that they could not recognize him.

17 And he said to them, What are these words that you are discussing with each other, as you walk, and are sad?

18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to him, Are you a stranger alone from Jerusalem, that you do not know what has happened in it in these days?

19 He said to them, What things? They said to him, About Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet, mighty in word and deed before God and before all the people.

20 And the high priests and the elders delivered him up to the judgment of death, and they crucified him.

21 But we were hoping that he was the one to save Israel; and behold, it is three days since all these things happened.

22 And some of our women also amazed us, for they went early to the tomb;

23 And when his body was not found, they came, and said to us, We saw angels there, and they said that he is alive.

24 And some of our men also went to the tomb, and they found it so, as the women had said; but they did not see him.

25 Then Jesus said to them, O dull-minded heavy-hearted, slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken.

26 Did not Christ have to suffer all these things, and to enter into his glory?

27 And he began from Moses and from all the prophets, and interpreted to them from all the scriptures concerning himself.

28 And they drew near to the village, to which they were going; and he made them think that he was going to a far place.

29 But they urged him and said, Remain with us; because the day is spent and it is near dark. So he entered to stay with them.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them.

31 And immediately their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he was taken away from them.

32 And they said one to another, Were not our hearts heavy within us, when he spoke with us on the road, and interpreted the scriptures to us?

33 And they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

34 Saying, Truly our Lord has risen, and he has appeared to Simon.

35 And they also reported those things that happened on the road, and how they knew him as he broke the bread.

36 And while they were discussing these things, Jesus stood among them, and said to them, Peace be with you; it is I; do not be afraid.

37 And they were confused and frightened, for they thought they saw a spirit. The walk to Emmaus.

38 Jesus said to them, Why do you tremble? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

39 Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I; feel me and understand; for a spirit has no flesh and bones, as you see I have.

40 When he said these things, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41 And as they still did not believe because of their joy, and they were bewildered, he said to them, Have you anything here to eat?

42 They gave him a portion of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and ate before their eyes.

44 And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you when I was with you, that everything must be fulfilled which is written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.

46 And he said to them, Thus it is written, and it was right that Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day;

47 And that repentance should be preached in his name for the forgiveness of sins among all nations; and the beginning will be from Jerusalem.

48 And you are witnesses of these things.

49 And I will send upon you the promise of my Father; but you remain in the city of Jerusalem, until you are clothed with power from on high.

50 And he took them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and went up to heaven.

52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy;

53 And they were always in the temple,

4 Они стояли потрясённые, когда внезапно двое мужчин в ослепительных одеяниях предстали перед ними.

5 Охваченные страхом, женщины низко склонили головы, мужчины же сказали им: «Почему ищете среди мёртвых живого? Его здесь нет, Он воскрес!

6 Помните, что Он вам говорил, когда ещё находился в Галилее:

7 „Сын Человеческий должен быть предан в руки грешников, а затем распят и на третий день воскреснуть”?»

8 Тогда они вспомнили слова Иисуса.

9 Уйдя из того места, где была гробница, женщины рассказали обо всём одиннадцати апостолам и всем остальным ученикам.

10 Среди них были Мария Магдалина, Иоанна и Мария, мать Иакова. Они, вместе с другими женщинами, рассказали обо всём случившемся апостолам,

11 но тем их слова показались вздором, и поэтому они не поверили.

12 Пётр же побежал к гробнице и, наклонившись, увидел только полотняную ткань, и ушёл оттуда, удивляясь происшедшему.

13 В этот же день двое из учеников шли в селение, называемое Еммаус, километрах в двенадцати от Иерусалима.

14 Они говорили между собой обо всём, что произошло.

15 Когда ученики обсуждали произошедшее, к ним подошёл Иисус и пошёл с ними рядом.

16 Но им не позволено было узнать Его.

17 Он же спросил их: «О чём вы говорите?» Они остановились, опечаленные.

18 Один из них, Клеопа, ответил Ему: «Должно быть, только Ты один в Иерусалиме не знаешь о том, что там произошло в эти дни».

19 Тогда Иисус спросил их: «О чём вы говорите?» Они ответили: «Мы говорим об Иисусе из Назарета, Который был великим пророком на словах и на деле в глазах Бога и всего народа.

20 Но наши главные священники и правители выдали Его, чтобы Его осудили на смерть и распяли.

21 Мы надеялись, что Он спасёт Израиль, а потом всё это случилось. И вот ещё что: с тех пор прошло три дня,

22 а сегодня некоторые из наших женщин удивили нас тем, что когда они пошли к гробнице рано утром,

23 то не нашли там Его тела. Они пришли и сообщили нам, что Ангелы явились им и сказали, что Он жив.

24 И некоторые из нас пошли к гробнице и нашли всё так, как рассказали женщины, но никто из нас не видел Его».

25 «Как же вы не понимаете? — сказал им Иисус. — Как трудно вам поверить тому, что говорили пророки!

26 Пророки сказали, что Христос должен выстрадать всё это и тогда обрести славу Свою».

27 И, начав от Моисея и перечисляя всех пророков, Он объяснил им, что сказано о Нём в Писаниях.

28 Они приблизились к селению, куда шли, а Иисус сделал вид, что идёт дальше,

29 но они настойчиво просили Его: «Останься с нами, так как день уже подошёл к концу и наступает вечер». И Он пошёл, чтобы остаться с ними.

30 Когда Иисус был вместе с ними за столом, Он взял хлеб и возблагодарил Бога, а затем, преломив его, дал им.

31 Тогда их глаза открылись, и они узнали Его, но Он исчез из вида.

32 Ученики говорили друг другу: «Нам казалось, будто огонь горел в наших сердцах; с каким восторгом слушали мы, когда Он объяснял нам истинный смысл Писаний».

33 Поднявшись в тот же час, они вернулись в Иерусалим и нашли там одиннадцать апостолов и других учеников, собравшихся вместе с ними,

34 которые говорили: «Воистину воскрес Господь! Он явился Симону».

35 Тогда два ученика рассказали, что произошло с ними в дороге и как они узнали Иисуса, когда Он преломил хлеб.

36 И когда они ещё рассказывали об этом, Сам Иисус стал среди них и сказал: «Мир вам».

37 Они же, поражённые и исполненные страха, думали, что видят духа.

38 Но Иисус сказал: «Почему вы грустите? Почему сомневаетесь в том, что видите?

39 Посмотрите на Мои руки и ноги — это Я. Прикоснитесь ко Мне и посмотрите, вот Я — живая плоть, у духа же нет ни костей, ни плоти, какие видите у Меня».

40 И, сказав это, Иисус показал им руки и ноги Свои.

41 Увидев Его живым, ученики от радости и удивления не могли поверить своим глазам. Иисус же сказал им: «Есть ли у вас здесь какая-нибудь еда?»

42 Они дали Ему кусок приготовленной рыбы,

43 и в присутствии апостолов и учеников Он взял и съел его.

44 Тогда Иисус сказал им: «Помните, когда Я был с вами, Я говорил вам, что всё написанное обо Мне в Законе Моисея, у пророков и в псалмах должно исполниться».

45 Затем Иисус объяснил ученикам всё Писание и помог им постигнуть всё, что было написано о Нём.

46 «Написано, — сказал Он им, — что Христос будет предан смерти и воскреснет на третий день.

47 Покаяние и прощение грехов будет провозглашено во имя Его всем народам, начиная с Иерусалима. И вы — свидетели тому.

48

49 Я посылаю вам обещанное Отцом Моим. Вы же должны оставаться в городе, пока не обретёте силу свыше».

50 Иисус довёл их от Иерусалима почти до самой Вифании и, вознеся руки, благословил их.

51 И когда Он благословлял их, то отделился от них и вознёсся на небо.

52 Они же, поклонившись Ему, возвратились в Иерусалим в великой радости.

53 И, придя в храм, всё время оставались там, восхваляя Бога.

6 He is not here, he has risen; remember that he spoke to you while he was in Galilee,

23 And when his body was not found, they came, and said to us, We saw angels there, and they said that he is alive.

24 And some of our men also went to the tomb, and they found it so, as the women had said; but they did not see him.

25 «Как же вы не понимаете? — сказал им Иисус. — Как трудно вам поверить тому, что говорили пророки!

26 Пророки сказали, что Христос должен выстрадать всё это и тогда обрести славу Свою».

27 And he began from Moses and from all the prophets, and interpreted to them from all the scriptures concerning himself.

27 И, начав от Моисея и перечисляя всех пророков, Он объяснил им, что сказано о Нём в Писаниях.

28 And they drew near to the village, to which they were going; and he made them think that he was going to a far place.

29 But they urged him and said, Remain with us; because the day is spent and it is near dark. So he entered to stay with them.

29 но они настойчиво просили Его: «Останься с нами, так как день уже подошёл к концу и наступает вечер». И Он пошёл, чтобы остаться с ними.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them.

30 Когда Иисус был вместе с ними за столом, Он взял хлеб и возблагодарил Бога, а затем, преломив его, дал им.

31 And immediately their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he was taken away from them.

31 Тогда их глаза открылись, и они узнали Его, но Он исчез из вида.

32 And they said one to another, Were not our hearts heavy within us, when he spoke with us on the road, and interpreted the scriptures to us?

32 Ученики говорили друг другу: «Нам казалось, будто огонь горел в наших сердцах; с каким восторгом слушали мы, когда Он объяснял нам истинный смысл Писаний».

33 And they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

33 Поднявшись в тот же час, они вернулись в Иерусалим и нашли там одиннадцать апостолов и других учеников, собравшихся вместе с ними,

34 Saying, Truly our Lord has risen, and he has appeared to Simon.

34 которые говорили: «Воистину воскрес Господь! Он явился Симону».

35 And they also reported those things that happened on the road, and how they knew him as he broke the bread.

35 Тогда два ученика рассказали, что произошло с ними в дороге и как они узнали Иисуса, когда Он преломил хлеб.

36 And while they were discussing these things, Jesus stood among them, and said to them, Peace be with you; it is I; do not be afraid.

40 И, сказав это, Иисус показал им руки и ноги Свои.

41 Увидев Его живым, ученики от радости и удивления не могли поверить своим глазам. Иисус же сказал им: «Есть ли у вас здесь какая-нибудь еда?»

45 Затем Иисус объяснил ученикам всё Писание и помог им постигнуть всё, что было написано о Нём.

46 And he said to them, Thus it is written, and it was right that Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day;

46 «Написано, — сказал Он им, — что Христос будет предан смерти и воскреснет на третий день.

47 And that repentance should be preached in his name for the forgiveness of sins among all nations; and the beginning will be from Jerusalem.

47 Покаяние и прощение грехов будет провозглашено во имя Его всем народам, начиная с Иерусалима. И вы — свидетели тому.

48 And you are witnesses of these things.

52 Они же, поклонившись Ему, возвратились в Иерусалим в великой радости.

53 And they were always in the temple,
