Глава 3

1 Я — человек, изведавший горе от жезла гнева Его, которым Он разил меня.

2 Он влек меня за Собой и во тьму привел, а не к свету.

3 И вот теперь Он непрестанно поднимает на меня Свою руку.

4 Иссушил плоть и кожу мою, все кости мои переломал.

5 Воздвиг против меня осадный вал, горечью и страданием обложил.

6 Вверг меня во мрак, давно сгинувшим мертвецам уподобил.

7 Глухой стеной окружил Он меня, не выйти мне теперь, заковал меня в тяжкие оковы.

8 Взывал я к Нему громко, о помощи просил, но, видно, не доходна до Него молитва моя.

9 Камнями огромными мне путь преградил, непроходимыми сделал дороги мои.

10 Страшен Он, как медведь, стерегущий добычу, как лев в засаде.

11 Дорогу мою Он в сторону увел и растерзал меня, в ничто превратил.

12 Он лук Свой взял, натянул тетиву и сделал меня мишенью для стрел.

13 Пронзил мне сердце стрелами из Своего колчана.

14 Посмешищем сделал меня для народа, с издевкой распевают они песни обо мне изо дня в день.

15 Накормил меня Владыка горькими травами, напоил полынью.

16 Камни грызть принудил меня, и притупились у меня зубы, прахом меня накормил.

17 Лишился я мира душевного — забыл о счастье.

18 Стал говорить себе: «Погибла слава моя, и нет у меня надежды на ГОСПОДА».

19 Вспомни, Господи, о бедствиях моих и бесприютности, жизнь моя, как полынь, горька и, как желчь, противна.

20 Думы об этом постоянно терзают душу мою, и я падаю духом.

21 Но вот что вспоминаю я, и оттого надежда оживает во мне:

22 «Милости ГОСПОДА бесконечны, милосердие Его вечно,

23 каждое утро вновь изливается. Велика верность Твоя!

24 ГОСПОДЬ — наследие мое, — твердит душа, — на Него надеяться не перестану».

25 Благ ГОСПОДЬ к уповающим на Него, к душе, Его ищущей.

26 Благо тому, кто спокойно ожидает спасения от ГОСПОДА.

27 Благо всякому, кто несет ярмо страданий с юности своей.

28 Благо тому, кто пребывает в одиночестве и безмолвии, когда Господь возлагает на него бремя.

29 Он склоняется ниц, размышляя: «Быть может, есть еще надежда?»

30 Пусть не боится он подставить щеку свою обидчику и насытится позором.

31 Не навеки отвергает Владыка Господь.

32 Он сокрушает, но Он же и милует по великой благости Своей.

33 Не по желанию сердца Своего посылает Он горе и страдание людям.

34 Когда попирают ногами пленников земли,

35 когда неправедно судят человека пред лицом Всевышнего,

36 и когда дело человека в суде извращают — разве не видит Господь?

37 Кому под стать повелеть — и свершится, если Владыка Господь не повелит тому быть?

38 Не из уст ли Всевышнего исходит и доброе, и злое?

39 Зачем же роптать смертному, принимая наказание за грехи свои?

40 Испытаем же пути свои, исследуем жизнь свою, возвратимся же к ГОСПОДУ.

41 Сердца и руки простирая к Богу в небе, скажем Ему:

42 «Нас, вероломных и упрямых, Ты не простил.

43 Во гнев облекшись, Ты преследовал нас, убивал без жалости.

44 Укрылся за облаками, чтоб не проникли сквозь них наши мольбы.

45 Сором ничтожным соделал Ты нас средь народов.

46 Пасть свою разинул на нас враг наш.

47 Пагуба и ров, опустошение и разорение — доля наша».

48 Рекой льются слезы из очей моих, ибо погибла дочь народа моего.

49 Текут и текут слезы, и не будет мне облегчения,

50 пока ГОСПОДЬ с небес не посмотрит, не взглянет на меня.

51 Скорбит душа моя, смотря на участь дочерей города моего.

52 Враги мои ловили меня, как птицу, преследовали без причины.

53 Скинули меня живым в яму, забросали меня камнями.

54 Выше головы поднялась вода, и я подумал было: «Погиб».

55 Тебя, ГОСПОДИ, я звал по имени из глубокой ямы.

56 Ты слышал мой голос, так не будь же, Господи, глухим к моим мольбам и стонам!

57 О, если бы Ты приблизился ко мне, когда я зову Тебя, если бы сказал мне: «Не бойся».

58 Ты вступался за меня, Владыка, спаси жизнь мою.

59 Ты видел, ГОСПОДИ, как я был угнетен, так вступись и теперь за меня судом правым.

60 Тебе ведомы все их замыслы против меня, непомерная мстительность моих врагов.

61 Ты ведь слышишь, ГОСПОДИ, ругательства их, знаешь всё, что замышляют они против меня:

62 коварные речи их и хитрости против меня — всякий день.

63 Посмотри, встают ли они или садятся, — с издевкой поют они песни обо мне.

64 Воздай им, ГОСПОДИ, по делам!

65 Пошли им помрачение сердца, и пусть падет на них Твое проклятье!

66 Преследуй их, ГОСПОДИ, во гневе, истреби их из-под небес Твоих.

38 Не из уст ли Всевышнего исходит и доброе, и злое?

39 Зачем же роптать смертному, принимая наказание за грехи свои?

40 Испытаем же пути свои, исследуем жизнь свою, возвратимся же к ГОСПОДУ.
