Глава 5

1 После того снова ходил Иисус на один из иудейских праздников в Иерусалим.

2 Там у Овечьих ворот есть водоем (по-еврейски он называется Вифезда) с пятью галереями.

3 В них лежало множество больных: слепых, хромых, параличных.

4 []

5 Был там человек, болевший уже тридцать восемь лет.

6 Иисус увидел его среди лежащих и, узнав, как давно тот болеет, спросил у него: «Хочешь ли выздороветь?»

7 «Господин мой, — ответил Ему больной, — нет у меня никого, кто помог бы мне войти в воду, когда приходит она в движение. Когда же сам я силюсь сделать это, туда успевает всякий раз еще до меня погрузиться кто-то другой».

8 Иисус сказал ему на это: «Встань, возьми циновку свою и ходи!»

9 И тотчас выздоровел человек этот, он взял циновку свою и стал ходить. Всё это было в субботу,

10 поэтому ревностные законники из иудеев стали нападать на исцеленного: «Сегодня суббота, ты не должен нести свою циновку».

11 Но он отвечал им: «Человек, Который исцелил меня, это Он сказал мне: „Возьми свою циновку и ходи“».

12 «Кто Он, Этот Человек, что сказал тебе такое?» — спросили они его.

13 Но исцеленный не знал, Кто это был, потому что Иисус сразу скрылся в толпе, которая собралась там.

14 Потом Иисус нашел того человека в Храме и сказал ему: «Теперь ты здоров, но не греши больше, чтобы не было тебе еще хуже!»

15 Исцеленный пошел и объявил иудейским властям, что здоровым сделал его Иисус.

16 И начали иудейские власти преследовать Иисуса потому, что Он делал такие дела в субботу.

17 На это отвечал им [Иисус]: «Отец Мой никогда не перестает творить добро, так делаю и Я».

18 Еще более тогда утвердились в своем намерении убить Его иудейские власти, теперь уже не только за нарушение субботы, но и за то, что, называя Бога Своим Отцом, Он Себя Самого ставил наравне с Богом.

19 Иисус же говорил им: «Воистину, ничего не сделает Сын от Себя, пока не увидит, что и Отец это делает. Что делает Отец, то делает и Сын.

20 Ведь Отец любит Сына и показывает ему всё, что делает Сам, и еще большие покажет Он Ему дела, так что изумитесь вы.

21 Ведь как Отец пробуждает мертвых и возвращает им жизнь, так и Сын дарует жизнь, кому хочет.

22 Никого и не судит Отец — Сыну передал Он весь суд,

23 чтобы чтили все Сына, как чтят Отца. Кто Сына не чтит, не чтит и Отца, Который послал Его.

24 Воистину, кто внемлет слову Моему и верит Тому, Кто послал Меня, тот обрел уже вечную жизнь. Не стоять ему перед Судом: перешел он от смерти к жизни.

25 Верьте Мне, наступает время, — и уже настало оно, — когда услышат мертвые голос Сына Божия, и те, которые услышат Его, будут жить.

26 Как Отец никому не обязан жизнью Своей — в Нем Самом она, так и Сын в Самом Себе жизнь несет — даровано то Отцом Ему.

27 И право судить дано Ему как Сыну Человеческому.

28 Да не удивит вас всё это! Близко время, когда услышат все мертвые голос Его.

29 Тогда те, кто добрые вершил дела, для жизни восстанут, а те, которые творили зло, — для Суда.

30 Сам по Себе ничего не могу совершить Я. Если же сужу Я, то так только, как от Отца о том слышу; потому Суд Мой — Суд праведный, ибо не Свою волю стремлюсь исполнить, а волю Пославшего Меня.

31 Если бы никто, кроме Меня Самого, не свидетельствовал обо Мне, не имело бы силы то, что Я говорю о Себе.

32 Но обо Мне Другой свидетельствует, и Я знаю, что всякое Его слово обо Мне — истинно.

33 Вы посылали к Иоанну, и он тоже подтвердил эту истину.

34 Говорю это не потому, что нуждаюсь в свидетельстве людей, ради вашего спасения говорю.

35 Иоанн был светильником ярко горящим, и какое-то время вы были готовы радоваться во свете его.

36 Но есть у Меня свидетельство больше того, которое дал Иоанн: дела, порученные Мне Отцом для завершения, сами эти дела, которые совершаю Я, — они свидетельствуют, что послан Я Отцом.

37 И Отец, Меня пославший, уже засвидетельствовал обо Мне. Но вы ни голоса Его никогда не слышали, ни образа Его не видели,

38 и слово Его не пребывает в вас, потому что не верите вы Тому, Кого Он послал.

39 Вы усердно изучаете Писания, думая найти в них дорогу к вечной жизни. Но хоть свидетельствуют они обо Мне,

40 вы всё же не хотите прийти ко Мне, не хотите обрести истинную жизнь.

41 Мне не нужно людское признание,

42 да и вас Я хорошо знаю: нет у вас настоящей любви к Богу!

43 Я во имя Отца Моего пришел, и вы не принимаете Меня! А приди к вам другой кто-нибудь от своего к тому же имени, его бы вы приняли.

44 Поверите ли вы, если жаждете похвалы друг от друга и ничуть не заботитесь о похвале от Бога единого?

45 Не думайте, будто Я стану обвинять вас перед Отцом. Вы возложили свои надежды на Моисея, он вам и судья.

46 Если бы действительно верили вы Моисею, поверили бы и Мне: он обо Мне писал.

47 Если же не верите тому, что Моисей написал, как Моим словам поверите?»

Chapter 5

1 AFTER these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there was at Jerusalem a baptismal pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five entrances.

3 And at these entrances a great many sick people were lying, the blind, the lame, and the crippled; and they were waiting for the water to be stirred up;

4 For an angel of God went down at a certain time to the baptismal pool and stirred up the water; and whoever went in first after the stirring of the water was healed of any disease he had.

5 A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.

6 Jesus saw this man lying down, and he knew that he had been waiting for a long time; so he said to him, Do you wish to be healed?

7 The sick man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man, when the water is stirred up, to put me into the baptismal pool; but while I am coming, another one goes in before me.

8 Jesus said to him, Rise, take up your quiltbed, and walk.

9 And the man was healed immediately, and he got up and took his quilt-bed and walked. And that day was the sabbath.

10 So the Jews said to him who was healed, It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your quilt-bed.

11 He answered and said to them, He who had healed me, he told me, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk.

12 And they asked him, Who is this man who said to you, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk?

13 But he who was healed did not know who he was; for Jesus was pressed by a large crowd which was at that place.

14 After a while, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, Behold, you are healed; do not sin again, for something worse might happen to you than the first.

15 And the man went away and told the Jews, that it was Jesus who had healed him.

16 And for this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and wanted to kill him, because he was doing these things on the sabbath.

17 But Jesus said to them, My Father works even until now, so I also work.

18 And for this the Jews wanted the more to kill him, not only because he was weakening the sabbath, but also because he said concerning God that he is his Father, and was making himself equal with God.

19 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, that the Son can do nothing of his own accord, except what he sees the Father doing; for the things which the Father does, the same the Son does like him also.

20 For the Father loves his Son, and he shows him everything that he does; and he will show him greater works than these, so that you may marvel.

21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will.

22 For the Father does not judge any man, but he has entrusted all judgment to the Son;

23 So that every man should honor the Son, just as he honors the Father. He who does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father who sent him.

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes him who has sent me, has everlasting life; and he does not come before the judgment, but he passes from death to life.

25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The time is coming, and it is now already here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear it will live.

26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself.

27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment also, for he is the Son of man.

28 Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming, when all those who are in the graves will hear his voice,

29 And they will come out; those who have done good works to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil works to the resurrection of judgment.

30 I can do nothing of myself; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

31 If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is not true.

32 It is another one who testifies concerning me; and I know that the testimony which he testifies concerning me is true.

33 You sent to John, and he testified concerning the truth.

34 But I do not receive any testimony from men; but I tell you these things so that you may be saved.

35 He was a lamp which burns and gives light; and you were willing to delight in his light for a while.

36 But I have a greater testimony than that of John; for the works which my Father has given me to finish, the same works which I do, testify concerning me, that the Father has sent me.

37 And the Father who sent me has testified concerning me. But you have never heard his voice, nor seen his appearance.

38 And his word does not abide in you, because you do not believe in him whom he has sent.

39 Examine the scriptures, in which you trust that you have eternal life; and even they testify concerning me.

40 Yet you will not come to me, that you might have life everlasting.

41 I do not receive any praise from men.

42 But I know you well, that the love of God is not in you.

43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; if another should come in his own name, you will receive him.

44 How can you believe, when you accept praise one from another, but the praise from God only, you do not want?

45 Why, do you think that I will accuse you before the Father; there is one who will accuse you, even Moses, in whom you trust.

46 For if you had believed in Moses, you would also have believed in me; because Moses wrote concerning me.

47 If you do not believe his writings, how then can you believe my words?

1 После того снова ходил Иисус на один из иудейских праздников в Иерусалим.	1 AFTER these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

5 Был там человек, болевший уже тридцать восемь лет.	5 A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6 Иисус увидел его среди лежащих и, узнав, как давно тот болеет, спросил у него: «Хочешь ли выздороветь?»	6 Jesus saw this man lying down, and he knew that he had been waiting for a long time; so he said to him, Do you wish to be healed?
7 «Господин мой, — ответил Ему больной, — нет у меня никого, кто помог бы мне войти в воду, когда приходит она в движение. Когда же сам я силюсь сделать это, туда успевает всякий раз еще до меня погрузиться кто-то другой».	7 The sick man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man, when the water is stirred up, to put me into the baptismal pool; but while I am coming, another one goes in before me.
8 Иисус сказал ему на это: «Встань, возьми циновку свою и ходи!»	8 Jesus said to him, Rise, take up your quiltbed, and walk.
9 И тотчас выздоровел человек этот, он взял циновку свою и стал ходить. Всё это было в субботу,	9 And the man was healed immediately, and he got up and took his quilt-bed and walked. And that day was the sabbath.
10 поэтому ревностные законники из иудеев стали нападать на исцеленного: «Сегодня суббота, ты не должен нести свою циновку».	10 So the Jews said to him who was healed, It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your quilt-bed.
11 Но он отвечал им: «Человек, Который исцелил меня, это Он сказал мне: „Возьми свою циновку и ходи“».	11 He answered and said to them, He who had healed me, he told me, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk.
12 «Кто Он, Этот Человек, что сказал тебе такое?» — спросили они его.	12 And they asked him, Who is this man who said to you, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk?
13 Но исцеленный не знал, Кто это был, потому что Иисус сразу скрылся в толпе, которая собралась там.	13 But he who was healed did not know who he was; for Jesus was pressed by a large crowd which was at that place.
14 Потом Иисус нашел того человека в Храме и сказал ему: «Теперь ты здоров, но не греши больше, чтобы не было тебе еще хуже!»	14 After a while, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, Behold, you are healed; do not sin again, for something worse might happen to you than the first.
15 Исцеленный пошел и объявил иудейским властям, что здоровым сделал его Иисус.	15 And the man went away and told the Jews, that it was Jesus who had healed him.
16 И начали иудейские власти преследовать Иисуса потому, что Он делал такие дела в субботу.	16 And for this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and wanted to kill him, because he was doing these things on the sabbath.
17 На это отвечал им [Иисус]: «Отец Мой никогда не перестает творить добро, так делаю и Я».	17 But Jesus said to them, My Father works even until now, so I also work.
18 Еще более тогда утвердились в своем намерении убить Его иудейские власти, теперь уже не только за нарушение субботы, но и за то, что, называя Бога Своим Отцом, Он Себя Самого ставил наравне с Богом.	18 And for this the Jews wanted the more to kill him, not only because he was weakening the sabbath, but also because he said concerning God that he is his Father, and was making himself equal with God.
19 Иисус же говорил им: «Воистину, ничего не сделает Сын от Себя, пока не увидит, что и Отец это делает. Что делает Отец, то делает и Сын.	19 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, that the Son can do nothing of his own accord, except what he sees the Father doing; for the things which the Father does, the same the Son does like him also.
20 Ведь Отец любит Сына и показывает ему всё, что делает Сам, и еще большие покажет Он Ему дела, так что изумитесь вы.	20 For the Father loves his Son, and he shows him everything that he does; and he will show him greater works than these, so that you may marvel.
21 Ведь как Отец пробуждает мертвых и возвращает им жизнь, так и Сын дарует жизнь, кому хочет.	21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will.
22 Никого и не судит Отец — Сыну передал Он весь суд,	22 For the Father does not judge any man, but he has entrusted all judgment to the Son;
23 чтобы чтили все Сына, как чтят Отца. Кто Сына не чтит, не чтит и Отца, Который послал Его.	23 So that every man should honor the Son, just as he honors the Father. He who does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father who sent him.
24 Воистину, кто внемлет слову Моему и верит Тому, Кто послал Меня, тот обрел уже вечную жизнь. Не стоять ему перед Судом: перешел он от смерти к жизни.	24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes him who has sent me, has everlasting life; and he does not come before the judgment, but he passes from death to life.
25 Верьте Мне, наступает время, — и уже настало оно, — когда услышат мертвые голос Сына Божия, и те, которые услышат Его, будут жить.	25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The time is coming, and it is now already here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear it will live.
26 Как Отец никому не обязан жизнью Своей — в Нем Самом она, так и Сын в Самом Себе жизнь несет — даровано то Отцом Ему.	26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself.
27 И право судить дано Ему как Сыну Человеческому.	27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment also, for he is the Son of man.
28 Да не удивит вас всё это! Близко время, когда услышат все мертвые голос Его.	28 Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming, when all those who are in the graves will hear his voice,
29 Тогда те, кто добрые вершил дела, для жизни восстанут, а те, которые творили зло, — для Суда.	29 And they will come out; those who have done good works to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil works to the resurrection of judgment.
30 Сам по Себе ничего не могу совершить Я. Если же сужу Я, то так только, как от Отца о том слышу; потому Суд Мой — Суд праведный, ибо не Свою волю стремлюсь исполнить, а волю Пославшего Меня.	30 I can do nothing of myself; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
31 Если бы никто, кроме Меня Самого, не свидетельствовал обо Мне, не имело бы силы то, что Я говорю о Себе.	31 If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is not true.
32 Но обо Мне Другой свидетельствует, и Я знаю, что всякое Его слово обо Мне — истинно.	32 It is another one who testifies concerning me; and I know that the testimony which he testifies concerning me is true.
33 Вы посылали к Иоанну, и он тоже подтвердил эту истину.	33 You sent to John, and he testified concerning the truth.
34 Говорю это не потому, что нуждаюсь в свидетельстве людей, ради вашего спасения говорю.	34 But I do not receive any testimony from men; but I tell you these things so that you may be saved.
35 Иоанн был светильником ярко горящим, и какое-то время вы были готовы радоваться во свете его.	35 He was a lamp which burns and gives light; and you were willing to delight in his light for a while.
36 Но есть у Меня свидетельство больше того, которое дал Иоанн: дела, порученные Мне Отцом для завершения, сами эти дела, которые совершаю Я, — они свидетельствуют, что послан Я Отцом.	36 But I have a greater testimony than that of John; for the works which my Father has given me to finish, the same works which I do, testify concerning me, that the Father has sent me.
37 И Отец, Меня пославший, уже засвидетельствовал обо Мне. Но вы ни голоса Его никогда не слышали, ни образа Его не видели,	37 And the Father who sent me has testified concerning me. But you have never heard his voice, nor seen his appearance.
38 и слово Его не пребывает в вас, потому что не верите вы Тому, Кого Он послал.	38 And his word does not abide in you, because you do not believe in him whom he has sent.
39 Вы усердно изучаете Писания, думая найти в них дорогу к вечной жизни. Но хоть свидетельствуют они обо Мне,	39 Examine the scriptures, in which you trust that you have eternal life; and even they testify concerning me.
40 вы всё же не хотите прийти ко Мне, не хотите обрести истинную жизнь.	40 Yet you will not come to me, that you might have life everlasting.
41 Мне не нужно людское признание,	41 I do not receive any praise from men.
42 да и вас Я хорошо знаю: нет у вас настоящей любви к Богу!	42 But I know you well, that the love of God is not in you.
43 Я во имя Отца Моего пришел, и вы не принимаете Меня! А приди к вам другой кто-нибудь от своего к тому же имени, его бы вы приняли.	43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; if another should come in his own name, you will receive him.
44 Поверите ли вы, если жаждете похвалы друг от друга и ничуть не заботитесь о похвале от Бога единого?	44 How can you believe, when you accept praise one from another, but the praise from God only, you do not want?
45 Не думайте, будто Я стану обвинять вас перед Отцом. Вы возложили свои надежды на Моисея, он вам и судья.	45 Why, do you think that I will accuse you before the Father; there is one who will accuse you, even Moses, in whom you trust.
46 Если бы действительно верили вы Моисею, поверили бы и Мне: он обо Мне писал.	46 For if you had believed in Moses, you would also have believed in me; because Moses wrote concerning me.
47 Если же не верите тому, что Моисей написал, как Моим словам поверите?»	47 If you do not believe his writings, how then can you believe my words?
