1 Woe1945 to the crown5850 of pride,1348 to the drunkards7910 of Ephraim,669 whose glorious6643 beauty8597 is a fading5034 flower,6731 which834 are on the head7218 of the fat8081 valleys1516 of them that are overcome1986 with wine!3196

2 Siehe, ein7857 Starker und Mächtiger2389 vom HErrn136, wie ein Hagelsturm2230, wie ein schädlich Wetter2230, wie ein Wassersturm, die4325 mächtiglich einreißen, wird ins3027 Land776 gelassen3240 mit Gewalt,

2 Behold,2009 the Lord136 has a mighty2389 and strong533 one, which as a tempest2230 of hail1259 and a destroying6986 storm,8178 as a flood2230 of mighty3524 waters4325 overflowing,7857 shall cast3240 down to the earth776 with the hand.3027

3 daß die prächtige1348 Krone5850 der Trunkenen7910 von Ephraim669 mit Füßen7272 zertreten7429 werde.

3 The crown5850 of pride,1348 the drunkards7910 of Ephraim,669 shall be trodden7429 under feet:7272
|
|
4 Und die welke5034 Blume6733 ihrer lieblichen6643 Herrlichkeit8597, welche stehet oben7218 über einem fetten8081 Tal1516, wird sein gleich wie das Reife vor dem Sommer7019, welches verdirbt, wenn man7200 es noch an7200 seinem Zweige hangen siehet.

4 And the glorious6643 beauty,8597 which834 is on5921 the head7218 of the fat8081 valley,1516 shall be a fading5034 flower,6733 and as the hasty1061 fruit1061 before2962 the summer;7019 which834 when he that looks7200 on it sees,7200 while it is yet5750 in his hand3709 he eats1104 it up.

5 Zu der Zeit3117 wird der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635 sein eine liebliche6643 Krone5850 und herrlicher8597 Kranz6843 den Übrigen seines Volks5971

5 In that day3117 shall the LORD3068 of hosts6635 be for a crown5850 of glory,6643 and for a diadem6843 of beauty,8597 to the residue7605 of his people,5971

6 und ein Geist7307 des Rechts4941 dem, der zu Gericht4941 sitzt3427, und eine Stärke1369 denen, die vom Streit4421 wiederkommen7725 zum Tor8179.

6 And for a spirit7307 of judgment4941 to him that sits3427 in judgment,4941 and for strength1369 to them that turn7725 the battle4421 to the gate.8179

7 Dazu sind7941 diese428 auch vom Wein3196 toll7686 worden und3548 taumeln8582 von4480 starkem Getränk. Denn beide, Priester und Propheten5030, sind7941 toll7686 von starkem Getränke, sind in Wein7941 ersoffen1104 und taumeln von starkem Getränke; sie8582 sind toll7686 im Weissagen7203 und köcken die Urteile heraus.

7 But they also1571 have erred7686 through wine,3196 and through strong drink7941 are out of the way;8582 the priest3548 and the prophet5030 have erred7686 through strong drink,7941 they are swallowed1104 up of wine,3196 they are out of the way8582 through4480 strong drink;7941 they err7686 in vision,7203 they stumble6328 in judgment.6417

8 Denn alle Tische7979 sind4390 voll Speiens6892 und Unflats6675 an allen Orten4725.

8 For all3605 tables7979 are full4390 of vomit6892 and filthiness,6675 so that there is no1097 place4725 clean.

9 Wen soll er denn lehren3384 Erkenntnis1844? Wem soll er zu verstehen995 geben die Predigt8052? Den Entwöhnten1580 von der Milch2461; denen, die von Brüsten7699 abgesetzt6267 sind.

11 Wohlan, er wird einmal mit spöttischen Lippen und mit einer andern312 Zunge8193 reden1696 zu diesem Volk5971, welchem jetzt dies geprediget wird:

12 So hat8085 man559 Ruhe4496, so erquickt5117 man die Müden5889, so wird man stille; und wollen doch solcher Predigt nicht14.

13 Darum soll ihnen auch des HErrn3068 Wort1697 eben also werden3782: Gebeut hin6673, gebeut her; gebeut hin6673, gebeut her; harre hie, harre da3920; harre hie; harre da; hie ein wenig2191, da ein wenig2191, daß sie hingehen3212 und zurückfallen268, zerbrechen7665, verstrickt3369 und gefangen werden.

14 So höret nun des HErrn3068 Wort1697, ihr Spötter3944, die582 ihr herrschet über dies Volk5971, so zu8085 Jerusalem3389 ist4910.

15 Denn ihr5674 sprechet: Wir haben5674 mit dem Tode4194 einen Bund1285 und935 mit der Hölle7585 einen Verstand gemacht3772; wenn eine7857 Flut7752 dahergehet, wird sie559 uns nicht8267 treffen; denn wir haben die Lüge3577 zu6213 unserer Zuflucht4268 und7760 Heuchelei zu unserem Schirm gemacht5641.

15 Because3588 you have said,559 We have made3772 a covenant1285 with death,4194 and with hell7585 are we at agreement;2374 when3588 the overflowing7857 whip7885 shall pass5674 through, it shall not come935 to us: for we have made7760 lies3576 our refuge,4268 and under falsehood8267 have we hid5641 ourselves:

16 Darum spricht559 der HErr136 HErr3069: Siehe, ich lege in Zion6726 einen Grundstein68, einen bewährten976 Stein68, einen köstlichen3368 Eckstein6438, der wohl4143 gegründet3245 ist3245. Wer glaubet539, der fleucht nicht2363.

16 Therefore3651 thus3541 said559 the Lord136 GOD,3069 Behold,2005 I lay in Zion6726 for a foundation3248 a stone,68 a tried976 stone,68 a precious3368 corner6438 stone, a sure3245 foundation:4143 he that believes539 shall not make haste.2363

17 Und ich will das Recht4941 zur Richtschnur6957 und die Gerechtigkeit6666 zum Gewicht machen7760; so wird der Hagel1259 die falsche3577 Zuflucht4268 wegtreiben3261, und Wasser4325 sollen den Schirm5643 wegschwemnen,

17 Judgment4941 also will I lay7760 to the line,6957 and righteousness6666 to the plummet:4949 and the hail1259 shall sweep3261 away the refuge4268 of lies,3576 and the waters4325 shall overflow7857 the hiding5643 place.

18 daß euer Bund1285 mit dem Tode4194 los werde3722 und euer Verstand mit der Hölle7585 nicht6965 bestehe; und wenn eine7857 Flut7752 dahergehet, wird sie euch zertreten4823; sobald sie dahergehet, wird sie euch wegnehmen.
|
18 And your covenant1285 with death4194 shall be disannulled,3722 and your agreement2380 with hell7585 shall not stand;6965 when3588 the overflowing7857 whip7752 shall pass5674 through, then you shall be trodden4823 down by it.

19 Kommt sie3947 des Morgens5674, so1767 geschieht‘s des Morgens1242; also auch, sie1242 komme des Tages3117 oder des Nachts3915. Denn alleine die Anfechtung8052 lehret aufs Wort2113 merken995.

19 From the time1767 that it goes5674 forth5674 it shall take3947 you: for morning1242 by morning1242 shall it pass5674 over,5674 by day3117 and by night:3915 and it shall be a vexation2113 only7535 to understand995 the report.8052

20 Denn das Bett4702 ist8311 so enge, daß nichts übrig ist, und die Decke4541 so kurz7114, daß man sich drein schmiegen muß3664.
|
20 For the bed4702 is shorter7114 than that a man can stretch8311 himself on it: and the covering4541 narrower6887 than that he can wrap3664 himself in it.

|
21 Denn der HErr3068 wird sich7264 aufmachen wie auf6965 dem Berge2022 Prazim und zürnen wie im Tal6010 Gibeon1391, daß er sein5647 Werk4639 tue6213 auf eine andere2114 Weise5237, und daß er seine Arbeit4639 tue auf eine andere Weise.

21 For the LORD3068 shall rise6965 up as in mount2022 Perazim,6559 he shall be wroth7264 as in the valley6010 of Gibeon,1391 that he may do6213 his work,4639 his strange2114 work;4639 and bring5647 to pass5674 his act,5656 his strange5237 act.5656

22 So laßt nun euer Spotten3887, auf daß eure Bande4147 nicht härter werden8085; denn ich2388 habe ein Verderben3617 und Steuern gehöret, so vom HErrn136 HErrn3069 Zebaoth6635 geschehen wird in aller Welt776.

22 Now6258 therefore be you not mockers,3887 lest6435 your bands4147 be made strong:2388 for I have heard8085 from the Lord136 GOD3069 of hosts6635 a consumption,3617 even determined2782 on the whole3605 earth.776

23 Nehmet zu8085 Ohren und höret8085 meine Stimme6963; merket7181 auf238 und höret meine Rede565!
|
23 Give you ear,238 and hear8085 my voice;6963 listen,7181 and hear8085 my speech.565

24 Pflüget oder brachet oder arbeitet auch ein Ackermann seinen Acker127 immerdar3117 zur Saat2232?

24 Does the plowman2790 plow2790 all3605 day3117 to sow?2232 does he open6605 and break7702 the clods7702 of his ground?127
|
|
25 Ist‘s7760 nicht also? Wenn6440 er‘s6327 gleich gemacht hat7737, so streuet er2236 Wicken7100 und wirft Kümmel3646 und säet Weizen2406 und Gerste8184, jegliches7795, wo er‘s hin haben will5567, und Spelt3698 an seinen Ort1367.

25 When518 he has made plain7737 the face6440 thereof, does he not cast6327 abroad6327 the fitches,7100 and scatter2236 the cummin,3646 and cast7760 in the principal7795 wheat2406 and the appointed5567 barley8184 and the rye3698 in their place?1367

26 Also züchtiget sie auch ihr GOtt430 durch Recht4941 und lehret3384 sie.
|
26 For his God430 does instruct3256 him to discretion,4941 and does teach3384 him.
|
|
27 Denn man drischt1758 die Wicken7100 nicht5437 mit Dreschwagen2742, so läßt man auch nicht das Wagenrad5699 über den Kümmel3646 gehen, sondern die Wicken7100 schlägt man aus2251 mit einem Stabe4294 und den Kümmel3646 mit einem Stecken7626.

27 For the fitches7100 are not threshed1758 with a threshing2742 instrument, neither1077 is a cart5699 wheel212 turned5437 about on the cummin;3646 but the fitches7100 are beaten2251 out with a staff,4294 and the cummin3646 with a rod.7626

28 Man mahlt1854 es, daß es Brot3899 werde, und drischt1758 es nicht gar5331 zunichte156, wenn man‘s mit Wagenrädern1536 und Pferden6571 ausdrischet.
|
28 Bread3899 corn is bruised;1854 because3588 he will not ever5331 be threshing1758 it, nor break2000 it with the wheel1536 of his cart,5699 nor3808 bruise1854 it with his horsemen.6571
|
|
29 Solches geschieht auch vom HErrn3068 Zebaoth6635; denn sein6381 Rat6098 ist1431 wunderbarlich und führet es herrlich hinaus3318.

29 This2088 also1571 comes3318 forth3318 from the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 which is wonderful6381 in counsel,6098 and excellent1431 in working.8454
