Chapter 28

1 The wicked7563 flee5127 when no369 man pursues:7291 but the righteous6662 are bold982 as a lion.3715

2 For the transgression6588 of a land776 many7227 are the princes8269 thereof: but by a man120 of understanding995 and knowledge3045 the state3651 thereof shall be prolonged.748

3 A poor7326 man1397 that oppresses6231 the poor1800 is like a sweeping5502 rain4306 which leaves no369 food.3899

4 They that forsake5800 the law8451 praise1984 the wicked:7563 but such as keep8104 the law8451 contend1624 with them.

5 Evil7451 men582 understand995 not judgment:4941 but they that seek1245 the LORD3068 understand995 all3605 things.

6 Better2896 is the poor1800 that walks1980 in his uprightness,8537 than he that is perverse6141 in his ways,1870 though he be rich.6223

7 Whoever keeps5341 the law8451 is a wise995 son:1121 but he that is a companion7462 of riotous2151 men shames3637 his father.1

8 He that by usury5392 and unjust8636 gain8636 increases7235 his substance,1952 he shall gather6908 it for him that will pity2603 the poor.1800

12 When righteous6662 men do rejoice,5970 there is great7227 glory:8597 but when the wicked7563 rise,6965 a man120 is hidden.2664

13 He that covers3680 his sins6588 shall not prosper:6743 but whoever confesses3034 and forsakes5800 them shall have mercy.7355

14 Happy835 is the man120 that fears6342 always:8548 but he that hardens7185 his heart3820 shall fall5307 into mischief.7451

25 He that is of a proud7342 heart5315 stirs1624 up strife:4066 but he that puts his trust982 in the LORD3068 shall be made fat.1878

26 He that trusts982 in his own heart3820 is a fool:3684 but whoever walks1980 wisely,2451 he shall be delivered.4422

27 He that gives5414 to the poor7326 shall not lack:4270 but he that hides5956 his eyes5869 shall have many7227 a curse.3994

1 惡者雖無追襲，而遁逃恐後，義者之膽，其大若獅。

2 國亂則主迭更，民良則邦永治。

3 以貧虐貧，若行潦忽決，盡淹所有。

4 違法者譽惡，守法者敵惡。

5 作惡之人，不明至道，崇事耶和華者，能悉萬理，

6 富而悖理，不如貧而善道。

7 守律法者，有智之子，從惡黨者，貽父之羞。

8 貸人以金，重權子母，以益其財者，所積之金，必爲濟貧之人所得。

9 不聽律法者卽祈於上，亦爲上帝所疾。

10 使義者迷途，必陷罪戾，爲善者則納福。

11 富人自視爲智，貧者明慧，必審其詳。

12 義人在位，萬事彰明，惡者秉鈞，庶民隱遯。

13 自匿其非，不得納福，任過而改，可獲矜憫，

14 恒畏耶和華者，可受綏祉，剛愎厥心，必有災害。

15 暴君虐貧民，若咆哮之獅，饑餓之熊。

16 無智之君，多行暴虐，能絶嗜欲，可得永生。

17 殺人者必有懼心，恐見執而逃，入墓乃已。

18 直躬而行者，可得拯救，所從邪曲者，猝然敗亡。

19 勸耕耘者，得果腹，從虛誕者，致貧乏。

20 誠愨之人，永膺多福，急圖富有，必召禍災。

21 偏視者不公，饋以一方之餅，因之枉法。

22 貪婪之人，惟圖富有，不知貧乏將至。

23 以善責人，終得恩寵，較諂諛尤多。

24 竊父母之財，自言無罪者，與盜無異。

25 人恃驕泰，多啟爭端，惟恃耶和華，無不亨通。

26 恃其能者愚昧，慎所行者得救。

27 濟貧人，則不致缺乏，佯爲不見者，多遭詛咒。

28 惡人居顯要，庶民隱遯，惡人敗亡，賢人乃出。
