1 Josua3091 aber, der Sohn1121 Nuns5126, hatte7200 zween Kundschafter582 heimlich2791 ausgesandt7971 von Sittim7851 und ihnen8147 gesagt559: Gehet hin3212, besehet das Land776 und Jericho3405. Die gingen3212 hin und kamen935 in das Haus1004 einer Hure2181, die hieß8034 Rahab7343, und kehreten zu ihr7901 ein.

2 And it was told559 the king4428 of Jericho,3405 saying,559 Behold,2009 there came935 men376 in hither2008 tonight3915 of the children4480 1121 of Israel3478 to search out2658 853 the country.776

2 Da ward dem Könige4428 zu Jericho3405 gesagt559: Siehe, es sind935 in dieser Nacht3915 Männer582 hereinkommen von den Kindern1121 Israel3478, das Land776 zu erkunden2658.

3 And the king4428 of Jericho3405 sent7971 unto413 Rahab,7343 saying,559 Bring forth3318 the men376 that are come935 to413 thee, which834 are entered935 into thine house:1004 for3588 they be come935 to search out2658 853 all3605 the country.776

3 Da sandte der König4428 zu Jericho3405 zu Rahab7343 und ließ7971 ihr sagen559: Gib die Männer582 heraus, die zu dir in dein Haus1004 kommen3318 sind935; denn sie sind935 kommen935, das ganze Land776 zu erkunden2658.

4 And the woman802 took3947 853 the two8147 men,376 and hid6845 them, and said559 thus,3651 There came935 men376 unto413 me, but I knew3045 not3808 whence4480 370 they1992 were:

4 Aber das Weib802 verbarg6845 die zween Männer582 und sprach559 also: Es sind ja Männer582 zu mir8147 hereinkommen, aber ich wußte3045 nicht, von wannen sie3947 waren935.

5 And it came to pass1961 about the time of shutting5462 of the gate,8179 when it was dark,2822 that the men376 went out:3318 whither575 the men376 went1980 I know3045 not:3808 pursue7291 after310 them quickly;4118 for3588 ye shall overtake5381 them.

5 Und da310 man die Tore8179 wollte zuschließen5462, da es finster2822 war, gingen3318 sie582 hinaus, daß ich nicht weiß3045, wo sie582 hingegangen sind1980. Jaget ihnen eilend4118 nach7291; denn ihr werdet sie ergreifen5381.

6 But she1931 had brought them up5927 to the roof1406 of the house, and hid2934 them with the stalks6086 of flax,6593 which she had laid in order6186 upon5921 the roof.1406

6 Sie2934 aber ließ sie auf das Dach1406 steigen5927 und verdeckte sie unter die Flachsstengel6086, die sie ihr auf dem Dache1406 ausgebreitet hatte6186.

7 And the men376 pursued7291 after310 them the way1870 to Jordan3383 unto5921 the fords:4569 and as soon as310 834 they which pursued7291 after310 them were gone out,3318 they shut5462 the gate.8179
|
7 Aber die Männer582 jagten7291 ihnen nach7291 auf dem Wege1870 zum Jordan3383 bis an die Furt4569. Und man schloß das Tor8179 zu5462, da310 die hinaus3318 waren, die ihnen nachjagten310.

8 And before2962 they1992 were laid down,7901 she1931 came up5927 unto5921 them upon5921 the roof;1406

8 Und ehe denn die Männer sich schlafen7901 legten, stieg sie zu ihnen hinauf auf5927 das Dach1406
|
|
9 And she said559 unto413 the men,376 I know3045 that3588 the LORD3068 hath given5414 you853 the land,776 and that3588 your terror367 is fallen5307 upon5921 us, and that3588 all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the land776 faint4127 because of4480 6440 you.

9 und sprach559 zu ihnen582: Ich weiß3045, daß der HErr3068 euch das Land776 gegeben5414 hat; denn ein Schrecken367 ist5307 über uns gefallen vor6440 euch, und alle Einwohner3427 des Landes776 sind vor eurer Zukunft feige4127 worden.

10 For3588 we have heard8085 853 how834 the LORD3068 dried up3001 853 the water4325 of the Red5488 sea3220 for4480 6440 you, when ye came out3318 of Egypt;4480 4714 and what834 ye did6213 unto the two8147 kings4428 of the Amorites,567 that834 were on the other side5676 Jordan,3383 Sihon5511 and Og,5747 whom834 ye utterly destroyed.2763 853

10 Denn wir haben gehöret, wie der HErr3068 hat8085 das Wasser4325 im Schilfmeer5488 ausgetrocknet3001 vor6440 euch her, da ihr aus3318 Ägypten4714 zoget, und was ihr den zween Königen4428 der Amoriter567, Sihon5511 und Og5747, jenseit5676 des Jordans3383 getan6213 habt2763, wie ihr sie8147 verbannet habt.

11 And as soon as we had heard8085 these things, our hearts3824 did melt,4549 neither3808 did there remain6965 any more5750 courage7307 in any man376 because of4480 6440 you: for3588 the LORD3068 your God,430 he1931 is God430 in heaven8064 above,4480 4605 and in5921 earth776 beneath.4480 8478

11 Und seit wir solches gehöret haben8085, ist4549 unser Herz3824 verzagt und ist kein Mut7307 mehr in jemand vor6440 eurer Zukunft; denn der HErr3068, euer GOtt430, ist ein376 GOtt430, beide oben im Himmel8064 und unten auf6965 Erden776.

12 Now6258 therefore, I pray4994 you, swear7650 unto me by the LORD,3068 since3588 I have showed you kindness,6213 5973 2617 that ye859 will also1571 show6213 kindness2617 unto5973 my father's1 house,1004 and give5414 me a true571 token: 226
|
12 So schwöret mir nun bei dem HErrn3068, daß3588, weil ich an euch Barmherzigkeit2617 getan6213 habe6213, daß ihr auch meines Vaters1 Hause1004 Barmherzigkeit2617 tut7650; und5414 gebet mir ein gewiß Zeichen571,

13 And that ye will save alive2421 853 my father,1 and my mother,517 and my brethren,251 and my sisters,269 and all3605 that834 they have, and deliver5337 853 our lives5315 from death.4480 4194
|
13 daß ihr leben lasset2421 meinen Vater1, meine Mutter517, meine Brüder251 und meine Schwestern269 und alles, was sie haben, und errettet5337 unsere Seelen5315 von dem Tode4194.

14 And the men376 answered559 her, Our life5315 for8478 yours, if518 ye utter5046 not3808 853 this2088 our business.1697 And it shall be,1961 when the LORD3068 hath given5414 us853 the land,776 that we will deal6213 kindly2617 and truly571 with5973 thee.
|
14 Die Männer sprachen559 zu ihr: tun6213 wir582 nicht Barmherzigkeit2617 und Treue571 an5046 dir, wenn uns der HErr3068 das1697 Land776 gibt5414, so soll unsere See LE5315 für euch des Todes4191 sein, sofern du unser Geschäft nicht verrätest.

15 Then she let them down3381 by a cord2256 through1157 the window:2474 for3588 her house1004 was upon the town2346 wall,7023 and she1931 dwelt3427 upon the wall.2346

15 Da ließ3381 sie dieselben am Seil2256 durchs1157 Fenster2474 hernieder; denn ihr3427 Haus1004 war an der Stadtmauer7023, und sie wohnete auch auf der Mauer2346.

|
16 And she said559 unto them, Get1980 you to the mountain,2022 lest6435 the pursuers7291 meet6293 you; and hide yourselves2247 there8033 three7969 days,3117 until5704 the pursuers7291 be returned:7725 and afterward310 may ye go1980 your way.1870
|
16 Und sie sprach559 zu ihnen: Gehet auf das Gebirge2022, daß euch3212 nicht3212 begegnen, die euch6293 nachjagen7291, und verberget euch2247 daselbst drei7969 Tage3117, bis daß die wiederkommen7725, die euch310 nachjagen7291; danach gehet eure Straße1870.

17 And the men376 said559 unto413 her, We587 will be blameless5355 of this thine oath4480 7621 2088 which834 thou hast made us swear.7650

17 Die Männer aber sprachen559 zu ihr: Wir582 wollen aber des Eides7621 los sein5355, den du von uns genommen hast7650,
|
|
18 Behold,2009 when we587 come935 into the land,776 thou shalt bind7194 853 this2088 line8615 of scarlet8144 thread2339 in the window2474 which834 thou didst let us down3381 by: and thou shalt bring622 thy father,1 and thy mother,517 and thy brethren,251 and all3605 thy father's1 household,1004 home1004 unto413 thee.

18 wenn wir kommen935 ins Land776, und du nicht dies rote8144 Seil8615 in das Fenster2474 knüpfest, damit du uns herniedergelassen hast3381 und zur dir ins Haus1004 versammelst622 deinen Vater1, deine Mutter517, deine Brüder251 und deines Vaters1 ganzes Haus1004.

19 And it shall be,1961 that whosoever3605 834 shall go out3318 of the doors4480 1817 of thy house1004 into the street,2351 his blood1818 shall be upon his head,7218 and we587 will be guiltless:5355 and whosoever3605 834 shall be1961 with854 thee in the house,1004 his blood1818 shall be on our head,7218 if518 any hand3027 be1961 upon him.

19 Und3318 wer834 zur Tür1817 deines Hauses1004 herausgehet, des Blut1818 sei auf seinem Haupte7218, und wir unschuldig5355; aber aller, die in deinem Hause1004 sind, so eine Hand3027 an sie gelegt wird7218, so soll ihr Blut1818 auf unserm Haupte sein.

20 And if518 thou utter5046 853 this2088 our business,1697 then we will be1961 quit5355 of thine oath4480 7621 which834 thou hast made us to swear.7650
|
20 Und so du etwas von diesem unserm Geschäfte wirst nachsagen, so wollen wir des Eides7621 los sein5355, den du von uns genommen hast1697.

21 And she said,559 According unto your words,1697 so3651 be it.1931 And she sent them away,7971 and they departed:1980 and she bound7194 853 the scarlet8144 line8615 in the window.2474
|
21 Sie sprach559: Es sei, wie ihr saget; und ließ7971 sie gehen3212. Und sie gingen hin. Und sie knüpfte7194 das1697 rote8144 Seil8615 ins Fenster2474.
|
|
22 And they went,1980 and came935 unto the mountain,2022 and abode3427 there8033 three7969 days,3117 until5704 the pursuers7291 were returned:7725 and the pursuers7291 sought1245 them throughout all3605 the way,1870 but found4672 them not.3808
|
22 Sie4672 aber gingen3212 hin und kamen935 aufs Gebirge2022 und blieben drei7969 Tage3117 daselbst, bis daß die7291 wiederkamen, die ihnen7725 nachjagten7291. Denn sie hatten3427 sie gesucht1245 auf allen Straßen1870 und doch nicht funden.

23 So the two8147 men376 returned,7725 and descended3381 from the mountain,4480 2022 and passed over,5674 and came935 to413 Joshua3091 the son1121 of Nun,5126 and told5608 him853 all3605 things that befell4672 them:

23 Also kehreten die zween Männer582 wieder7725 und gingen3381 vom Gebirge2022 und fuhren über5674; und kamen935 zu Josua3091, dem Sohn1121 Nuns5126, und erzähleten ihm alles, wie sie8147 es funden hatten4672,
|
|
24 And they said559 unto413 Joshua,3091 Truly3588 the LORD3068 hath delivered5414 into our hands3027 853 all3605 the land;776 for even1571 all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the country776 do faint4127 because of4480 6440 us.
|
24 und sprachen559 zu Josua3091: Der HErr3068 hat uns alles Land776 in unsere Hände3027 gegeben5414; auch so sind alle Einwohner3427 des Landes776 feige4127 vor6440 uns.
