3 Не ел я изысканных яств, ни мяса, ни вина в рот не брал, не прикасался к благовониям, пока три недели не истекли. |
4 В двадцать четвертый день первого месяца был я на берегу великой реки Тигр. |
5 Подняв глаза, увидел я некоего Мужа. На Нем были льняные одежды и пояс из чистого золота. |
6 Тело Его светилось, как топаз, лицо его сияло, как молния, глаза горели ярко, как светильники, а руки и ноги Его блестели, словно начищенная бронза. Когда же Он говорил, голос Его был подобен шуму большого войска. |
7 Только я, Даниил, видел это видение; те люди, что были со мной, не видели его, их охватил такой страх, что они разбежались и попрятались. |
8 Поэтому я один созерцал это великое видение. Силы покинули меня, от прежней бодрости ничего не осталось — в изнеможении я едва стоял на ногах; |
9 но как только я попытался вслушаться в слова Его, то пал на землю и лежал в беспамятстве лицом к земле. |
10 |
11 И ангел сказал мне: „Даниил, ты избран Богом! И ныне я послан к тебе, поэтому встань на ноги и вникни в слова, которые я скажу тебе!“ Он проговорил это — и я поднялся, весь дрожа. |
12 „Не бойся, Даниил! — продолжал он. — С того самого дня, как ты решился искать объяснения того, что было показано тебе, и начал смирять себя перед Богом своим, твои слова были услышаны. В ответ на твою молитву я и пришел к тебе. |
13 Правитель персидского царства противостоял мне двадцать один день, но Михаил, первый из небесных верховных правителей, пришел мне на помощь, когда я оставлен был с царями Персии. |
14 И вот я здесь, чтобы разъяснить тебе, что будет с народом твоим в последние дни, потому что видение это — о днях грядущих“. |
15 |
16 Но тут некто, похожий на человека, коснулся моих уст — я обрел дар речи и сказал стоявшему передо мной: „Владыка мой! Видение это вызвало во мне страдания, и силы оставили меня. |
17 Как мне, твоему рабу ничтожному, говорить с тобой, владыкой моим? Ведь я совсем обессилел и едва дышу“. |
18 |
19 „Не бойся, — сказал он, — мир тебе, Богом избранный! Мужайся! Крепись!“ При этих его словах я почувствовал прилив сил и смог сказать ему: „Говори, владыка мой, — ты даровал мне силы“. |
20 На это он ответил мне: „Теперь ты знаешь, зачем я пришел к тебе, не так ли? Конечно, я должен сейчас же вернуться, чтобы бороться всё с тем же правителем Персии, а когда я уйду оттуда, правитель Греции не замедлит явиться. |
21 Но прежде я поведаю тебе о том, что начертано в Книге истины. (Никто не поддерживает меня в борьбе с ними, кроме Михаила, правителя вашего. |
