1 To the chief Musician,5329 Al-taschith,516 Michtam4387 of David,1732 when he fled1272 from4480 6440 Saul7586 in the cave.4631 Be merciful2603 unto me, O God,430 be merciful2603 unto me: for3588 my soul5315 trusteth2620 in thee: yea, in the shadow6738 of thy wings3671 will I make my refuge,2620 until5704 these calamities1942 be overpast.5674

2 I will cry7121 unto God430 most high;5945 unto God410 that performeth1584 all things for5921 me.

3 He shall send7971 from heaven,4480 8064 and save3467 me from the reproach2778 of him that would swallow me up.7602 Selah.5542 God430 shall send forth7971 his mercy2617 and his truth.571

2 Чи ж то справді ви, можні, говорите правду, чи лю́дських синів слушно судите?

3 Отже, у серці ви чините кривди, дорогу наси́льства рук ваших тору́єте ви на землі.

4 Від лоня ще матернього — вже відда́лені несправедливі, з утро́би ще матерньої заблуди́лися неправдомо́вці, —

5 їхня отрута така, як отрута зміїна, як отрута глухої гадюки, що ухо своє затуля́є,

6 що не слухає голосу заклиначі́в, чарівника́, в чарах впра́вного!

7 Поруйнуй, Боже, зуби їхні в їхніх уста́х, левчука́м розбий, Господи, ще́лепи, —

8 нехай розпливуться, немов та вода, що собі розтіка́ється, хай пов'я́нуть вони, як трава по дорозі,

9 бодай стали, немов той слима́к, що в своїй слизоті́ розпускається, щоб сонця не бачили, як мертвий отой плід у жінки!

10 Поки почують терни́ну запа́лену ваші горшки, — нехай буря її рознесе, чи свіжу, чи спа́лену!

11 А праведний ті́шитись буде, бо помсту побачить, у кро́ві безбожного сто́пи свої він обмиє!
