Acts

Chapter 13

1 NOW there were in the church at An'ti-och prophets and teachers; Bar'na-bas, and Simeon who was called Ni'ger, and Lu'cius from the city of Cy-rene, and Man'a-el, * who was the son of the man who brought up Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they fasted and prayed to God, the Holy Spirit said to them, Appoint for me Saul and Bar'na-bas for the work to which I have called them.

3 So, after they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 Thus these two were sent forth by the Holy Spirit, and went down to Se-leu'ci-a; and from there they sailed to Cy'prus.

5 And when they had entered the city of Sal'a-mis, they preached the word of our LORD in the synagogues of the Jews: and John ministered unto them.

6 And when they had traveled the whole island as far as the city of Pa'phos, they found a Jewish sorcerer, who was a false prophet and whose name was Bar-Shu'ma:

7 Who was very close friend to a wise man, the proconsul whose name was Ser'gi-us Pau'lus, who called for Saul and Bar'na-bas, and desired to hear from them the word of God.

8 But Bar-Shu'ma the sorcerer (whose name is interpreted Elymas) withstood them, seeking to turn away the proconsul from the faith.

9 Then Saul, who is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked at him,

10 And said, O man full of every kind of subtlety and of all evil things, you son of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the LORD?

11 And now the hand of the LORD is against you, and you shall be blind, and shall not see the sun for a time. And in that very hour there fell on him a mist and darkness; and he went about seeking some one to lead him by the hand.

12 And when the proconsul saw what had happened, he was amazed, and believed the teaching of the LORD.

13 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas sailed from the city of Pa'phos, and came to Per'ga, a city in Pam-phyl'i-a: and John separated from them and went to Jerusalem.

14 But they left Per'ga and came to An'tioch, a city in Pi-sid'i-a, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the elders of the synagogue sent to them, saying, O men and brethren, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, speak.

16 So Paul stood up, and lifting his hands said, O men of Israel, and those of you who fear God, hear my words:

17 The God of this people of Is'ra-el chose our forefathers, and exalted and multiplied them when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a strong arm he brought them out of it.

18 And he fed them in the wilderness for forty years.

19 And he destroyed seven nations in the land of Ca'naan, and he gave them their land for an inheritance.

20 And for a period of four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges until the time of the prophet Samuel.

21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for a period of forty years.

22 And when in time God took Saul away he raised up to them David to be their king; concerning whom he testified and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, to do my will.

23 Of this man's seed God has, according to his promise, raised to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

24 Before whose coming, he had sent John to preach the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25 And as John fulfilled his ministry, he said, Whom do you think I am? I am not he. But behold there comes one after me the strings of whose shoes I am not worthy to untie.

26 O men and brethren, descendants of the family of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of salvation sent.

27 For in as much as the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders did not understand him nor the en_lbp_books of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they condemned him; but all the things which were written have been fulfilled.

28 And though they found no cause for his death, they asked Pilate that they might kill him.

29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they lowered him from the cross and laid him in a sepulchre.

30 But God raised him from the dead;

31 And for many days he was seen by them who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witnesses to the people.

32 And behold we also preach to you that that very promise which was made to our fathers,

33 Behold God has fulfilled it unto us their children, for he has raised up Jesus, just as it is written in the second psalm, You are my son, this day I have begotten you.

34 And God raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, as he said, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

35 And again he said in another place, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

36 For David, after he had served his own generation with the will of God, passed away; though he was a greater man than his fathers, yet he saw corruption.

37 But he whom God raised did not see corruption.

38 Be it known to you, therefore, brethren, that through this very one is preached to you the forgiveness of sins:

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40 Beware, therefore, lest that which is written in the prophets may come upon you.

41 Be careful, O you despisers, for you shall wonder and perish: for I will do a great work in your day which you will not believe even if a man tell it to you.

42 And as Paul and Bar'na-bas were leaving them, the people besought them to speak these things to them the next sabbath.

43 Now when the congregation was dismissed, a great many Jews, and also proselytes who feared God, followed Paul and Bar'na-bas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44 And the next sabbath day the whole city gathered to hear the word of God.

45 But when the Jews saw the great crowd, they were filled with envy, and they bitterly opposed the words of Paul, and they blasphemed.

46 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas said to them boldly, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but because you reject it, you have decided against yourselves and you are unworthy of everlasting life, so behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

47 For so has our Lord commanded us, as it is written, I have set you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified God; and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all that region.

50 But the Jews stirred up the chief men of the city and the rich women who worshipped God with them, so that they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Bar'na-bas, and expelled them beyond their borders.

51 And as they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and they came to the city of I-co'ni-um.

52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.

Kapitel 13

1 Es waren2258 aber1161 zu Antiochien490 in1722 der2532 Gemeinde1577 Propheten4396 und2532 Lehrer1320, nämlich Barnabas921 und5037 Simon4826, genannt2564 Niger3526, und2532 Lucius von Kyrene2956 und2532 Manahen3127, mit2596 Herodes dem5100 Vierfürsten5076 erzogen, und5037 Saulus4569.

2 Da2532 sie846 aber1161 dem3739 HErrn2962 dieneten und2532 fasteten3522, sprach der Heilige40 Geist4151: Sondert873 mir aus Barnabas921 und5037 Saulus4569 zu1519 dem Werk2041, dazu ich sie berufen habe4341.

3 Da5119 fasteten3522 sie2007 und2532 beteten4336 und2532 legten2007 die Hände5495 auf sie846 und ließen sie gehen630.

4 Und3767 wie sie3778 ausgesandt waren1599 vom Heiligen40 Geist4151, kamen2718 sie gen1519 Seleucia4581, und5037 von5259 dannen schifften636 sie gen1519 Zypern2954.

5 Und2532 da sie in1722 die Stadt Salamis4529 kamen1096, verkündigten2605 sie das Wort3056 Gottes2316 in1722 der Juden2453 Schulen4864; sie hatten2192 aber1161 auch2532 Johannes2491 zum Diener5257.

6 Und1161 da sie die3739 Insel3520 durchzogen1330 bis891 zu der Stadt Paphos3974, fanden2147 sie einen5100 Zauberer3097 und falschen Propheten5578, einen Juden2453, der hieß3686 Bar - Jehu.

7 Der3778 war2258 bei4862 Sergius4588 Paulus3972 dem Landvogt446, einem verständigen4908 Mann435. Derselbige rief zu sich4341 Barnabas921 und2532 Saulus4569 und begehrete, das3739 Wort3056 Gottes2316 zu hören191.

8 Da stund ihnen wider der Zauberer3097 Elymas (denn also wird sein Name gedeutet) und1161 trachtete2212, daß er846 den Landvogt446 vom575 Glauben4102 wendete1294.

9 Saulus4569 aber1161, der3588 auch2532 Paulus3972 heißt, voll4130 Heiligen40 Geistes, sah816 ihn846 an1519

10 und2532 sprach2036: O du5599 Kind des Teufels1228, voll4134 aller3956 List1388 und aller3956 Schalkheit4468 und Feind2190 aller3956 Gerechtigkeit! Du hörest nicht3756 auf3973, abzuwenden1294 die rechten1343 Wege3598 des HErrn2962.

11 Und2532 nun3568 siehe2400, die Hand5495 des846 HErrn2962 kommt über1909 dich4571, und2532 sollst blind5185 sein2071 und1161 die Sonne2246 eine Zeitlang891 nicht3361 sehen991. Und2532 von Stund‘ an1909 fiel1968 auf ihn Dunkelheit887 und Finsternis4655; und ging umher4013 und suchte Handleiter5497.

12 Als5119 der1909 Landvogt446 die Geschichte sah1492, glaubte4100 er und verwunderte sich1096 der Lehre1322 des HErrn2962

13 Da aber1161 Paulus3972, und die um4012 ihn waren, von575 Paphos3974 schifften, kamen2064 sie321 gen1519 Perge4011 im Lande Pamphylien3828. Johannes2491 aber1161 wich672 von575 ihnen846 und zog wieder5290 gen1519 Jerusalem2414.

14 Sie aber1161 zogen durch von575 Perge4011 und2532 kamen3854 gen1519 Antiochien490 im Lande Pisidien4099 und gingen1330 in1519 die Schule4864 am Sabbattage4521 und setzten sich2523.

15 Nach3326 der2076 Lektion320 aber1161 des Gesetzes3551 und2532 der Propheten4396 sandten die Obersten der Schule752 zu649 ihnen4314 und ließen ihnen4314 sagen3004: Liebe435 Brüder80, wollt ihr846 etwas reden3056 und das Volk2992 ermahnen3874, so1487 saget3004

16 Da stund Paulus3972 auf450 und1161 winkete mit der Hand5495 und2532 sprach2036: Ihr Männer435 von Israel2475, und2532 die ihr GOtt2316 fürchtet5399, höret191 zu!

17 Der1537 GOtt2316 dieses5127 Volks2992 hat1586 erwählet unsere2257 Väter3962 und2532 erhöhet das Volk2992, da3326 sie846 Fremdlinge waren3940 im1722 Lande1093 Ägypten125, und2532 mit1722 einem hohen5308 Arm1023 führete er846 sie aus1806 demselbigen.

18 Und2532 vierzig5063 Jahre lang5613 duldete5159 er846 ihre Weise in1722 der Wüste2048.

19 Und2532 vertilgete sieben2033 Völker1484 in1722 dem846 Lande1093 Kanaan5477 und teilete unter sie846 nach dem Los jener Lande1093.

20 Danach gab1325 er2532 ihnen Richter2923 vierhundertundfünfzig Jahre2094 lang5613, bis2193 auf den Propheten4396 Samuel4545.

21 Und2532 von1537 da an2547 baten154 sie um einen König935. Und GOtt2316 gab1325 ihnen Saul4549, den Sohn des846 Kis2797, einen Mann435 aus dem Geschlechte5443 Benjamin958, vierzig5062 Jahre2094 lang.

22 Und2532 da2532 er846 denselbigen wegtat3179, richtete er846 auf1453 über2596 sie3140 David1138 zum Könige935, von welchem3739 er zeugete: Ich habe2147 funden David1138, den Sohn Jesses2421, einen Mann435 nach1519 meinem3450 Herzen2588, der3739 soll tun4160 allen3956 meinen3450 Willen2307.

23 Aus dieses5127 Samen4690 hat1453 GOtt2316, wie2596 er2424 verheißen hat1860, gezeugt JEsum dem575 Volk Israel2474 zum Heiland4990,

24 als denn Johannes2491 zuvor4296 dem Volk2992 Israel2474 predigte die Taufe908 der Buße3341, ehe4253 denn er anfing.

25 Als aber1161 Johannes2491 seinen Lauf1408 erfüllete, sprach3004 er: Ich1473 bin1510 nicht3756 der3739, dafür ihr5282 mich1691 haltet1511; aber4137 siehe2400, er kommt2064 nach3326 mir3165, des ich nicht3756 wert514 bin1510, daß5613 ich ihm die5101 Schuhe5266 seiner Füße4228 auflöse3089.

26 Ihr Männer435, liebe Brüder80, ihr Kinder des Geschlechtes Abraham11, und2532 die5026 unter1722 euch5213 GOtt2316 fürchten5399, euch5213 ist649 das Wort3056 dieses Heils4991 gesandt649.

27 Denn1063 die3588 zu1722 Jerusalem2419 wohnen2730, und2532 ihre Obersten758, dieweil sie846 diesen5126 nicht50 kenneten noch die Stimme5456 der Propheten4396 (welche auf2596 alle3956 Sabbate4521 gelesen314 werden2919), haben sie dieselben mit2532 ihrem Urteilen erfüllet4137.

28 Und2532 wiewohl sie keine3367 Ursache156 des846 Todes2288 an ihm fanden2147, baten154 sie doch Pilatus4091 ihn zu töten337.

29 Und1161 als5613 sie846 alles537 vollendet hatten5055, was von4012 ihm geschrieben1125 ist, nahmen2507 sie ihn von575 dem Holz3586 und legten5087 ihn in1519 ein Grab3419.

30 Aber1161 GOtt2316 hat1453 ihn846 auferweckt von1537 den Toten3498.

31 Und er846 ist erschienen3700 viele4119 Tage2250 denen, die3748 mit4872 ihm hinauf von575 Galiläa1056 gen1519 Jerusalem2419 gegangen waren, welche sind1526 seine846 Zeugen3144 an4314 das3739 Volk2992.

32 Und2532 wir2249 auch verkündigen2097 euch5209 die3754 Verheißung1860, die zu4314 unsern Vätern3962 geschehen1096 ist2097,

33 daß dieselbige GOtt2316 uns2254, ihren Kindern, erfüllet hat1603 in1722 dem5026, daß er846 JEsum2424 auferwecket hat450, wie5613 denn2532 im andern1208 Psalm5568 geschrieben1125 stehet: Du4771 bist1488 mein3450 Sohn5043; heute4594 habe ich1473 dich4571 gezeuget1080.

34 Daß3754 er846 ihn aber1161 hat450 von1537 den Toten3498 auferweckt450, daß1519 er fort nicht3371 mehr soll3195 verwesen5290, spricht2046 er also: Ich will1325 euch5213 die Gnade3741, David1138 verheißen, treulich4103 halten.

35 Darum1352 spricht3004 er auch2532 am1722 andern2087 Ort: Du1492 wirst1325 es nicht3756 zugeben1325, daß dein4675 Heiliger3741 die Verwesung1312 sehe.

36 Denn David1138, da er zu4314 seiner Zeit1074 gedienet hatte5256 dem Willen1012 Gottes2316, ist3303 er entschlafen2837 und2532 zu seinen2398 Vätern3962 getan4369 und2532 hat die Verwesung1312 gesehen1492.

37 Den aber1161 GOtt2316 auferweckt hat1453, der hat die3739 Verwesung1312 nicht3756 gesehen1492.

38 So sei2077 es nun3767 euch5213 kund1110, liebe435 Brüder80, daß3754 euch5213 verkündiget wird2605 Vergebung859 der Sünden266 durch1223 diesen und von dem5127 allem, durch welches ihr nicht konntet im Gesetz Mose‘s gerecht werden.

39 Wer3956 aber an1722 diesen5129 glaubet4100, der3739 ist2532 gerecht1344.

40 Sehet991 nun3767 zu, daß nicht3361 über1909 euch5209 komme1904, was in1722 den Propheten4396 gesagt ist2046:

41 Sehet1492, ihr4100 Verächter2707, und2532 verwundert2296 euch5216 und werdet zunichte853; denn3754 ich1473 tue2038 ein5100 Werk2041 zu1722 euren Zeiten2250, welches ihr nicht3364 glauben4100 werdet, so1437 es euch5213 jemand3739 erzählen wird1555.

42 Da aber1161 die5023 Juden2453 aus1537 der Schule4864 gingen1826, baten3870 die Heiden1484, daß1519 sie zwischen3342 Sabbats4521 ihnen die Worte4487 sagten2980.

43 Und2532 als die Gemeinde der3748 Schule4864 voneinander ging3089, folgeten Paulus3972 und2532 Barnabas921 nach190 viel4183 Juden2453 und gottesfürchtige Judengenossen4339. Sie4576 aber1161 sägten ihnen846 und vermahneten sie846, daß sie3982 bleiben1961 sollten in der Gnade5485 Gottes2316.

44 Am folgenden Sabbat4521 aber1161 kam2064 zusammen4863 fast4975 die ganze3956 Stadt4172, das Wort3056 Gottes2316 zu hören191.

45 Da aber1161 die Juden2453 das Volk3793 sahen1492 wurden sie voll4130 Neides2205 und2532 widersprachen483 dem, was von5259 Paulus3972 gesagt3004 ward, widersprachen483 und2532 lästerten987.

46 Paulus3972 aber1161 und2532 Barnabas921 sprachen2036 frei öffentlich3955: Euch5213 mußte2258 zuerst das Wort3056 Gottes2316 gesagt werden2980; nun1894 ihr846 es aber1161 von euch1438 stoßet683 und4412 achtet2919 euch selbst nicht wert514 des ewigen166 Lebens2222, siehe2400, so2532 wenden4762 wir uns zu1519 den Heiden1484.

47 Denn1063 also3779 hat uns2254 der HErr2962 geboten1781: Ich habe1781 dich4571 den Heiden1484 zum1519 Licht5457 gesetzt5087, daß du4571 das Heil4991 seiest bis2193 an1519 das Ende2078 der Erde1093.

48 Da es aber1161 die191 Heiden1484 höreten, wurden sie5463 froh und2532 preiseten das Wort3056 des HErrn2962, und2532 wurden gläubig4100, wieviel3745 ihrer zum1519 ewigen166 Leben2222 verordnet5021 waren2258.

49 Und1161 das Wort3056 des HErrn2962 ward ausgebreitet1308 durch1223 die ganze3650 Gegend5561.

50 Aber1161 die Juden2453 bewegten3951 die andächtigen4576 und2532 ehrbaren2158 Weiber1135 und2532 der Stadt4172 Obersten und2532 erweckten1892 eine Verfolgung1375 über1909 Paulus3972 und2532 Barnabas921 und2532 stießen1544 sie846 zu575 ihren Grenzen3725 hinaus.

51 Sie846 aber1161 schüttelten1621 den Staub2868 von ihren Füßen4228 über1909 sie und kamen2064 gen1519 Ikonien2430.

52 Die Jünger3101 aber1161 wurden voll4137 Freuden5479 und2532 Heiligen40 Geistes4151.

1 Es waren2258 aber1161 zu Antiochien490 in1722 der2532 Gemeinde1577 Propheten4396 und2532 Lehrer1320, nämlich Barnabas921 und5037 Simon4826, genannt2564 Niger3526, und2532 Lucius von Kyrene2956 und2532 Manahen3127, mit2596 Herodes dem5100 Vierfürsten5076 erzogen, und5037 Saulus4569.

2 As they fasted and prayed to God, the Holy Spirit said to them, Appoint for me Saul and Bar'na-bas for the work to which I have called them.

2 Da2532 sie846 aber1161 dem3739 HErrn2962 dieneten und2532 fasteten3522, sprach der Heilige40 Geist4151: Sondert873 mir aus Barnabas921 und5037 Saulus4569 zu1519 dem Werk2041, dazu ich sie berufen habe4341.

3 So, after they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 Thus these two were sent forth by the Holy Spirit, and went down to Se-leu'ci-a; and from there they sailed to Cy'prus.

4 Und3767 wie sie3778 ausgesandt waren1599 vom Heiligen40 Geist4151, kamen2718 sie gen1519 Seleucia4581, und5037 von5259 dannen schifften636 sie gen1519 Zypern2954.

6 Und1161 da sie die3739 Insel3520 durchzogen1330 bis891 zu der Stadt Paphos3974, fanden2147 sie einen5100 Zauberer3097 und falschen Propheten5578, einen Juden2453, der hieß3686 Bar - Jehu.

8 Da stund ihnen wider der Zauberer3097 Elymas (denn also wird sein Name gedeutet) und1161 trachtete2212, daß er846 den Landvogt446 vom575 Glauben4102 wendete1294.

9 Then Saul, who is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked at him,

9 Saulus4569 aber1161, der3588 auch2532 Paulus3972 heißt, voll4130 Heiligen40 Geistes, sah816 ihn846 an1519

10 And said, O man full of every kind of subtlety and of all evil things, you son of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the LORD?

10 und2532 sprach2036: O du5599 Kind des Teufels1228, voll4134 aller3956 List1388 und aller3956 Schalkheit4468 und Feind2190 aller3956 Gerechtigkeit! Du hörest nicht3756 auf3973, abzuwenden1294 die rechten1343 Wege3598 des HErrn2962.

11 And now the hand of the LORD is against you, and you shall be blind, and shall not see the sun for a time. And in that very hour there fell on him a mist and darkness; and he went about seeking some one to lead him by the hand.

11 Und2532 nun3568 siehe2400, die Hand5495 des846 HErrn2962 kommt über1909 dich4571, und2532 sollst blind5185 sein2071 und1161 die Sonne2246 eine Zeitlang891 nicht3361 sehen991. Und2532 von Stund‘ an1909 fiel1968 auf ihn Dunkelheit887 und Finsternis4655; und ging umher4013 und suchte Handleiter5497.

12 And when the proconsul saw what had happened, he was amazed, and believed the teaching of the LORD.

12 Als5119 der1909 Landvogt446 die Geschichte sah1492, glaubte4100 er und verwunderte sich1096 der Lehre1322 des HErrn2962

13 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas sailed from the city of Pa'phos, and came to Per'ga, a city in Pam-phyl'i-a: and John separated from them and went to Jerusalem.

13 Da aber1161 Paulus3972, und die um4012 ihn waren, von575 Paphos3974 schifften, kamen2064 sie321 gen1519 Perge4011 im Lande Pamphylien3828. Johannes2491 aber1161 wich672 von575 ihnen846 und zog wieder5290 gen1519 Jerusalem2414.

14 But they left Per'ga and came to An'tioch, a city in Pi-sid'i-a, and on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down.

14 Sie aber1161 zogen durch von575 Perge4011 und2532 kamen3854 gen1519 Antiochien490 im Lande Pisidien4099 und gingen1330 in1519 die Schule4864 am Sabbattage4521 und setzten sich2523.

15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the elders of the synagogue sent to them, saying, O men and brethren, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, speak.

15 Nach3326 der2076 Lektion320 aber1161 des Gesetzes3551 und2532 der Propheten4396 sandten die Obersten der Schule752 zu649 ihnen4314 und ließen ihnen4314 sagen3004: Liebe435 Brüder80, wollt ihr846 etwas reden3056 und das Volk2992 ermahnen3874, so1487 saget3004

16 So Paul stood up, and lifting his hands said, O men of Israel, and those of you who fear God, hear my words:

16 Da stund Paulus3972 auf450 und1161 winkete mit der Hand5495 und2532 sprach2036: Ihr Männer435 von Israel2475, und2532 die ihr GOtt2316 fürchtet5399, höret191 zu!

17 The God of this people of Is'ra-el chose our forefathers, and exalted and multiplied them when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a strong arm he brought them out of it.

17 Der1537 GOtt2316 dieses5127 Volks2992 hat1586 erwählet unsere2257 Väter3962 und2532 erhöhet das Volk2992, da3326 sie846 Fremdlinge waren3940 im1722 Lande1093 Ägypten125, und2532 mit1722 einem hohen5308 Arm1023 führete er846 sie aus1806 demselbigen.

18 And he fed them in the wilderness for forty years.

18 Und2532 vierzig5063 Jahre lang5613 duldete5159 er846 ihre Weise in1722 der Wüste2048.

19 And he destroyed seven nations in the land of Ca'naan, and he gave them their land for an inheritance.

19 Und2532 vertilgete sieben2033 Völker1484 in1722 dem846 Lande1093 Kanaan5477 und teilete unter sie846 nach dem Los jener Lande1093.

20 And for a period of four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges until the time of the prophet Samuel.

20 Danach gab1325 er2532 ihnen Richter2923 vierhundertundfünfzig Jahre2094 lang5613, bis2193 auf den Propheten4396 Samuel4545.

21 Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for a period of forty years.

21 Und2532 von1537 da an2547 baten154 sie um einen König935. Und GOtt2316 gab1325 ihnen Saul4549, den Sohn des846 Kis2797, einen Mann435 aus dem Geschlechte5443 Benjamin958, vierzig5062 Jahre2094 lang.

22 And when in time God took Saul away he raised up to them David to be their king; concerning whom he testified and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, to do my will.

22 Und2532 da2532 er846 denselbigen wegtat3179, richtete er846 auf1453 über2596 sie3140 David1138 zum Könige935, von welchem3739 er zeugete: Ich habe2147 funden David1138, den Sohn Jesses2421, einen Mann435 nach1519 meinem3450 Herzen2588, der3739 soll tun4160 allen3956 meinen3450 Willen2307.

23 Of this man's seed God has, according to his promise, raised to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

23 Aus dieses5127 Samen4690 hat1453 GOtt2316, wie2596 er2424 verheißen hat1860, gezeugt JEsum dem575 Volk Israel2474 zum Heiland4990,

24 Before whose coming, he had sent John to preach the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

24 als denn Johannes2491 zuvor4296 dem Volk2992 Israel2474 predigte die Taufe908 der Buße3341, ehe4253 denn er anfing.

25 And as John fulfilled his ministry, he said, Whom do you think I am? I am not he. But behold there comes one after me the strings of whose shoes I am not worthy to untie.

25 Als aber1161 Johannes2491 seinen Lauf1408 erfüllete, sprach3004 er: Ich1473 bin1510 nicht3756 der3739, dafür ihr5282 mich1691 haltet1511; aber4137 siehe2400, er kommt2064 nach3326 mir3165, des ich nicht3756 wert514 bin1510, daß5613 ich ihm die5101 Schuhe5266 seiner Füße4228 auflöse3089.

26 O men and brethren, descendants of the family of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of salvation sent.

26 Ihr Männer435, liebe Brüder80, ihr Kinder des Geschlechtes Abraham11, und2532 die5026 unter1722 euch5213 GOtt2316 fürchten5399, euch5213 ist649 das Wort3056 dieses Heils4991 gesandt649.

27 For in as much as the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders did not understand him nor the en_lbp_books of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they condemned him; but all the things which were written have been fulfilled.

27 Denn1063 die3588 zu1722 Jerusalem2419 wohnen2730, und2532 ihre Obersten758, dieweil sie846 diesen5126 nicht50 kenneten noch die Stimme5456 der Propheten4396 (welche auf2596 alle3956 Sabbate4521 gelesen314 werden2919), haben sie dieselben mit2532 ihrem Urteilen erfüllet4137.

28 And though they found no cause for his death, they asked Pilate that they might kill him.

28 Und2532 wiewohl sie keine3367 Ursache156 des846 Todes2288 an ihm fanden2147, baten154 sie doch Pilatus4091 ihn zu töten337.

29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they lowered him from the cross and laid him in a sepulchre.

29 Und1161 als5613 sie846 alles537 vollendet hatten5055, was von4012 ihm geschrieben1125 ist, nahmen2507 sie ihn von575 dem Holz3586 und legten5087 ihn in1519 ein Grab3419.

30 But God raised him from the dead;

30 Aber1161 GOtt2316 hat1453 ihn846 auferweckt von1537 den Toten3498.

31 And for many days he was seen by them who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are now his witnesses to the people.

31 Und er846 ist erschienen3700 viele4119 Tage2250 denen, die3748 mit4872 ihm hinauf von575 Galiläa1056 gen1519 Jerusalem2419 gegangen waren, welche sind1526 seine846 Zeugen3144 an4314 das3739 Volk2992.

32 And behold we also preach to you that that very promise which was made to our fathers,

32 Und2532 wir2249 auch verkündigen2097 euch5209 die3754 Verheißung1860, die zu4314 unsern Vätern3962 geschehen1096 ist2097,

33 Behold God has fulfilled it unto us their children, for he has raised up Jesus, just as it is written in the second psalm, You are my son, this day I have begotten you.

33 daß dieselbige GOtt2316 uns2254, ihren Kindern, erfüllet hat1603 in1722 dem5026, daß er846 JEsum2424 auferwecket hat450, wie5613 denn2532 im andern1208 Psalm5568 geschrieben1125 stehet: Du4771 bist1488 mein3450 Sohn5043; heute4594 habe ich1473 dich4571 gezeuget1080.

34 And God raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, as he said, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

34 Daß3754 er846 ihn aber1161 hat450 von1537 den Toten3498 auferweckt450, daß1519 er fort nicht3371 mehr soll3195 verwesen5290, spricht2046 er also: Ich will1325 euch5213 die Gnade3741, David1138 verheißen, treulich4103 halten.

35 And again he said in another place, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

35 Darum1352 spricht3004 er auch2532 am1722 andern2087 Ort: Du1492 wirst1325 es nicht3756 zugeben1325, daß dein4675 Heiliger3741 die Verwesung1312 sehe.

36 For David, after he had served his own generation with the will of God, passed away; though he was a greater man than his fathers, yet he saw corruption.

36 Denn David1138, da er zu4314 seiner Zeit1074 gedienet hatte5256 dem Willen1012 Gottes2316, ist3303 er entschlafen2837 und2532 zu seinen2398 Vätern3962 getan4369 und2532 hat die Verwesung1312 gesehen1492.

37 But he whom God raised did not see corruption.

37 Den aber1161 GOtt2316 auferweckt hat1453, der hat die3739 Verwesung1312 nicht3756 gesehen1492.

38 Be it known to you, therefore, brethren, that through this very one is preached to you the forgiveness of sins:

38 So sei2077 es nun3767 euch5213 kund1110, liebe435 Brüder80, daß3754 euch5213 verkündiget wird2605 Vergebung859 der Sünden266 durch1223 diesen und von dem5127 allem, durch welches ihr nicht konntet im Gesetz Mose‘s gerecht werden.

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

39 Wer3956 aber an1722 diesen5129 glaubet4100, der3739 ist2532 gerecht1344.

40 Beware, therefore, lest that which is written in the prophets may come upon you.

40 Sehet991 nun3767 zu, daß nicht3361 über1909 euch5209 komme1904, was in1722 den Propheten4396 gesagt ist2046:

41 Be careful, O you despisers, for you shall wonder and perish: for I will do a great work in your day which you will not believe even if a man tell it to you.

41 Sehet1492, ihr4100 Verächter2707, und2532 verwundert2296 euch5216 und werdet zunichte853; denn3754 ich1473 tue2038 ein5100 Werk2041 zu1722 euren Zeiten2250, welches ihr nicht3364 glauben4100 werdet, so1437 es euch5213 jemand3739 erzählen wird1555.

42 And as Paul and Bar'na-bas were leaving them, the people besought them to speak these things to them the next sabbath.

42 Da aber1161 die5023 Juden2453 aus1537 der Schule4864 gingen1826, baten3870 die Heiden1484, daß1519 sie zwischen3342 Sabbats4521 ihnen die Worte4487 sagten2980.

43 Now when the congregation was dismissed, a great many Jews, and also proselytes who feared God, followed Paul and Bar'na-bas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

43 Und2532 als die Gemeinde der3748 Schule4864 voneinander ging3089, folgeten Paulus3972 und2532 Barnabas921 nach190 viel4183 Juden2453 und gottesfürchtige Judengenossen4339. Sie4576 aber1161 sägten ihnen846 und vermahneten sie846, daß sie3982 bleiben1961 sollten in der Gnade5485 Gottes2316.

44 And the next sabbath day the whole city gathered to hear the word of God.

44 Am folgenden Sabbat4521 aber1161 kam2064 zusammen4863 fast4975 die ganze3956 Stadt4172, das Wort3056 Gottes2316 zu hören191.

45 But when the Jews saw the great crowd, they were filled with envy, and they bitterly opposed the words of Paul, and they blasphemed.

45 Da aber1161 die Juden2453 das Volk3793 sahen1492 wurden sie voll4130 Neides2205 und2532 widersprachen483 dem, was von5259 Paulus3972 gesagt3004 ward, widersprachen483 und2532 lästerten987.

46 Then Paul and Bar'na-bas said to them boldly, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but because you reject it, you have decided against yourselves and you are unworthy of everlasting life, so behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

46 Paulus3972 aber1161 und2532 Barnabas921 sprachen2036 frei öffentlich3955: Euch5213 mußte2258 zuerst das Wort3056 Gottes2316 gesagt werden2980; nun1894 ihr846 es aber1161 von euch1438 stoßet683 und4412 achtet2919 euch selbst nicht wert514 des ewigen166 Lebens2222, siehe2400, so2532 wenden4762 wir uns zu1519 den Heiden1484.

47 For so has our Lord commanded us, as it is written, I have set you to be a light to the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

47 Denn1063 also3779 hat uns2254 der HErr2962 geboten1781: Ich habe1781 dich4571 den Heiden1484 zum1519 Licht5457 gesetzt5087, daß du4571 das Heil4991 seiest bis2193 an1519 das Ende2078 der Erde1093.

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified God; and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

48 Da es aber1161 die191 Heiden1484 höreten, wurden sie5463 froh und2532 preiseten das Wort3056 des HErrn2962, und2532 wurden gläubig4100, wieviel3745 ihrer zum1519 ewigen166 Leben2222 verordnet5021 waren2258.

49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all that region.

49 Und1161 das Wort3056 des HErrn2962 ward ausgebreitet1308 durch1223 die ganze3650 Gegend5561.

50 But the Jews stirred up the chief men of the city and the rich women who worshipped God with them, so that they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Bar'na-bas, and expelled them beyond their borders.

50 Aber1161 die Juden2453 bewegten3951 die andächtigen4576 und2532 ehrbaren2158 Weiber1135 und2532 der Stadt4172 Obersten und2532 erweckten1892 eine Verfolgung1375 über1909 Paulus3972 und2532 Barnabas921 und2532 stießen1544 sie846 zu575 ihren Grenzen3725 hinaus.

51 And as they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and they came to the city of I-co'ni-um.

51 Sie846 aber1161 schüttelten1621 den Staub2868 von ihren Füßen4228 über1909 sie und kamen2064 gen1519 Ikonien2430.

52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.

52 Die Jünger3101 aber1161 wurden voll4137 Freuden5479 und2532 Heiligen40 Geistes4151.
