Глава 24

1 Когда умерла Сарра, Авраам был уже человеком старым, прожившим долгую жизнь. Во всем, что он ни делал, ГОСПОДЬ благословлял его, и был он очень богат.

2 Однажды Авраам сказал рабу своему, прослужившему более всех в его доме, управлявшему всей его собственностью: «Прошу тебя, положи руку свою под бедро мое

3 и поклянись мне ГОСПОДОМ, Богом небес и Богом земли, что ты не допустишь того, чтобы сын мой женился на одной из местных девиц, на ханаанеянке,

4 а пойдешь в мою страну, к моим родственникам, и оттуда возьмешь жену сыну моему Исааку».

5 Раб спросил его: «А что, если девица не захочет идти со мной в эту далекую от ее дома землю? Должен ли я вернуть сына твоего в страну, из которой ты сюда переселился?»

6 «Ни в коем случае! — ответил ему Авраам. — Не возвращай моего сына туда!

7 ГОСПОДЬ, Бог небес, Который взял меня из отчего дома и родной страны и Который обещал мне с клятвой: „Потомкам твоим отдам Я землю эту“, — Он пошлет ангела Своего перед тобою и позаботится о том, чтобы ты взял жену сыну моему оттуда.

8 А если та девица не захочет идти с тобой, ты будешь свободен от клятвы, что ныне даешь мне. Только сына моего туда не возвращай».

9 И положил тогда раб руку свою под бедро Авраама, господина своего, и поклялся исполнить его желание.

10 А потом взял десять верблюдов из стада своего господина и отправился в путь. Верблюдов он навьючил всевозможными ценными вещами господина своего, чтобы использовать их по своему усмотрению. Шел он со своим караваном в город Нахора, в Арам-Нахараим.

11 Перед городом, у колодца, он опустил верблюдов на колени (происходило это под вечер, в то время, когда женщины выходят из города за водой).

12 «ГОСПОДИ, Боже господина моего Авраама, — воззвал он, — молю Тебя, да произойдет всё на моих глазах сегодня, яви милость господину моему Аврааму.

13 Вот я стою у этого источника, и дочери горожан приходят сюда за водой.

14 Я скажу одной из девушек: „Сделай одолжение, спусти кувшин, чтобы мне напиться“, и если она ответит мне: „Прошу тебя, пей, я и верблюдов твоих тоже напою“, — пусть это и будет та, которую Ты решил дать в жены слуге Своему Исааку. Так узнаю я, что Ты явил милость господину моему».

15 Еще не закончил он молиться, как увидел Ревекку, пришедшую к источнику с кувшином на плече. Она была дочерью Бетуэля, сына Мильки, жены Авраамова брата Нахора.

16 Ревекка была очень красива и еще не замужем, жила в девичестве своем. Она спустилась к источнику, наполнила кувшин свой и поднялась наверх.

17 Раб тот поспешил ей навстречу и попросил: «Позволь мне испить воды из твоего кувшина».

18 «Прошу тебя, пей, господин мой», — ответила она и тотчас спустила кувшин с плеча, дала ему пить

19 и, утолив его жажду, сказала: «Я стану черпать воду и для верблюдов твоих, пока не напьются».

20 Она быстро вылила воду из кувшина в поилку для скота, и опять побежала к колодцу, и продолжала носить воду верблюдам, пока все они не напились.

21 Всё это время человек тот, не говоря ни слова, наблюдал за ней, желая понять: благословил ли ГОСПОДЬ его путь или нет?

22 Как только верблюды напились, он дал ей золотую серьгу для носа (весом в полшекеля) и два золотых браслета (по десять шекелей весом каждый)

23 и спросил: «Чья ты дочь? Скажи мне, есть ли в доме отца твоего место, чтобы мне и людям моим переночевать?»

24 «Я дочь Бетуэля, сына Мильки и Нахора, — ответила она

25 и тут же добавила: — У нас много соломы и корма и есть место для ночлега».

26 Пал ниц человек тот, поклонился ГОСПОДУ

27 и сказал: «Слава ГОСПОДУ, Богу господина моего Авраама! Явил Он неизменную милость и верность Свою господину моему! Сам ГОСПОДЬ привел меня прямо к дому брата господина моего».

28 Девица тем временем убежала и в доме матери рассказала обо всем случившемся.

29 [29-30] У Ревекки был брат по имени Лаван. Когда Лаван увидел серьгу для носа и браслеты на руках у сестры своей и услышал от сестры своей Ревекки всё, что сказал ей тот человек, он поспешил к источнику. Раб Авраама всё еще стоял там со своими верблюдами. Лаван подошел к нему

31 и, приглашая его к себе домой, сказал: «Благословенный ГОСПОДОМ! Зачем тебе стоять здесь вне города, когда я уже велел приготовить для вас ночлег и стойла для ваших верблюдов».

32 Раб Авраамов принял приглашение и вошел в дом. Верблюдов его развьючили, дали им соломы и корма и принесли воды, чтобы вымыть ноги рабу и спутникам его.

33 Но когда перед ним поставили пищу, он возразил: «Не стану есть, пока не расскажу о деле, порученном мне». «Говори, мы послушаем», — сказал Лаван.

34 «Я раб Авраама, — начал тот свой рассказ. —

35 ГОСПОДЬ щедро благословил господина моего: стал он великим человеком. Дал ГОСПОДЬ ему овец и коров, серебро и золото, рабов и рабынь, верблюдов и ослов.

36 И Сарра, жена господина моего, несмотря на старость свою, родила господину моему сына, которому он передал всё, чем сам владеет.

37 Господин мой взял с меня клятву, что жену для сына его я не стану искать среди местных девиц, ханаанеянок,

38 а пойду в его отчий дом, к родственникам его, и там возьму жену для его сына.

39 Я сказал господину моему: „Может ведь случиться, что девушка не пойдет со мной“.

40 На это он так мне ответил: „ГОСПОДЬ, перед лицом Которого я живу, пошлет с тобой ангела Своего, и на твоем пути всё сложится так, что ты возьмешь жену сыну моему из семьи родственников моих и из дома отца моего,

41 и будешь ты свободен от данной мне клятвы. Но если ты сходишь к родственникам моим, а они не дадут тебе девицу, также будешь свободен от этой клятвы“.

42 И поэтому сегодня, остановившись возле источника, я сказал в молитве: „ГОСПОДИ, Боже господина моего Авраама! Если Тебе угодно, чтобы удачно завершился путь мой, то пусть бы всё произошло так:

43 вот я стою у источника, и, когда придет сюда девушка за водой, я попрошу ее дать мне испить воды из ее кувшина.

44 Если она скажет мне: „И ты пей, и верблюдам твоим я начерпаю“, — пусть она и окажется той, которую Ты, ГОСПОДЬ, приготовил в жены для сына господина моего“.

45 Не успел я вымолвить это всё про себя, как из города вышла Ревекка с кувшином на плече; она сошла к источнику и зачерпнула воды. Тут-то я и попросил ее напоить меня.

46 Она тотчас спустила с плеча кувшин и сказала: „Конечно же, пей, и верблюдов твоих я напою“. И я напился, и верблюдов она напоила.

47 Я спросил ее, чья она дочь, и она ответила мне: „Я — дочь Бетуэля, сына Нахора и Мильки“. Услышав это, я подарил ей серьгу для носа и браслеты на руки.

48 И пал я ниц, и поклонился ГОСПОДУ, и восславил ГОСПОДА, Бога господина моего Авраама, Бога, Который прямым путем привел меня сюда — взять в жены для сына господина моего дочь его родственника.

49 Итак, скажите мне: вы готовы явить свою любовь и верность моему господину? А если нет, тоже скажите прямо, чтобы я знал, как мне поступить».

50 И отвечали Лаван и Бетуэль: «Это от ГОСПОДА. Он привел тебя сюда, и можем ли мы возразить тебе?

51 Вот Ревекка — бери ее с собой и иди. Пусть будет она женой сыну господина твоего, коль так ГОСПОДЬ рассудил».

52 Услышав слова их, раб Авраамов поклонился ГОСПОДУ до земли.

53 Затем он достал серебряные и золотые вещи и наряды и дал Ревекке, брату ее и матери он также сделал богатые подарки.

54 После того он и его спутники и ели, и пили, и переночевали там. Утром же, когда все встали, он сказал: «Отпустите меня к господину моему».

55 Но брат и мать ее стали уговаривать его: «Пусть еще какое-то время побудет с нами девица, хотя бы дней десять, а потом пойдете».

56 «Не удерживайте меня, ибо Сам ГОСПОДЬ увенчал успехом мой путь! — настаивал он. — Отпустите меня, и я пойду к господину моему».

57 Тогда они сказали: «Давайте позовем девицу и спросим, что она скажет».

58 Позвали Ревекку, и, когда спросили ее: «Пойдешь с этим человеком?» — она не колеблясь ответила: «Пойду».

59 Простились они с Ревеккой, дочерью и сестрой своей, и с рабом Авраама и спутниками его. Вместе с ними проводили они и кормилицу Ревекки.

60 Прощаясь, они благословили Ревекку, высказали ей свое пожелание: «Сестра наша! Да родятся от тебя тысячи тысяч! Да не устоят перед потомками твоими врата вражеские!»

61 Тогда Ревекка и служанки ее собрались и, сев на верблюдов, поехали вслед за тем человеком. Так раб Авраама отправился домой, выполнив поручение господина: он вез Ревекку.

62 А Исаак, живший в то время в Негеве, только что вернулся домой после посещения колодца Беэр-Лахай-Рои.

63 Вечером Исаак вышел в поле поразмышлять и помолиться. Он посмотрел вдаль и увидел приближающихся верблюдов.

64 Ревекка заметила Исаака и тут же сошла с верблюда.

65 «Что за человек идет по полю нам навстречу?» — спросила она у Авраамова раба. «Это мой господин», — ответил раб. Она взяла покрывало и набросила на себя.

66 Раб рассказал Исааку обо всем, что с ним произошло.

67 И ввел Исаак Ревекку в шатер Сарры, покойной матери своей. Так стала она его женой, любимой его и утешением после кончины его матери.

3 And I will make you swear7650 by the LORD,3068 the God430 of heaven,8064 and the God430 of the earth,776 that you shall not take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 of the daughters1323 of the Canaanites,3669 among7130 whom834 I dwell:3427

4 But you shall go3212 to my country,776 and to my kindred,4138 and take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 Isaac.3327

5 And the servant5650 said559 to him, Peradventure194 the woman802 will not be willing14 to follow3212 310 me to this2063 land:776 must I needs7725 bring7725 your son1121 again7725 to the land776 from from where834 8033 you came?3318

6 And Abraham85 said559 to him, Beware8104 you that you bring7725 not my son1121 thither8033 again.7725

7 The LORD3068 God430 of heaven,8064 which834 took3947 me from my father's1 house,1004 and from the land776 of my kindred,4138 and which834 spoke1696 to me, and that swore7650 to me, saying,559 To your seed2233 will I give5414 this2063 land;776 he shall send7971 his angel4397 before6440 you, and you shall take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 from there.8033

8 And if the woman802 will not be willing14 to follow3212 310 you, then you shall be clear5352 from this my oath:7621 only7535 bring7725 not my son1121 thither again.7725

10 And the servant5650 took3947 ten6235 camels1581 of the camels1581 of his master,113 and departed;3212 for all3605 the goods2898 of his master113 were in his hand:3027 and he arose,6965 and went3212 to Mesopotamia,763 to the city5892 of Nahor.5152

13 Behold,2009 I stand5324 here by the well5869 of water;4325 and the daughters1323 of the men582 of the city5892 come3318 out to draw7579 water:4325

14 And let it come1961 to pass, that the damsel5291 to whom834 I shall say,559 Let5186 down5186 your pitcher,3537 I pray4994 you, that I may drink;8354 and she shall say,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 let the same be she that you have appointed3198 for your servant5650 Isaac;3327 and thereby shall I know3045 that you have showed6213 kindness2617 to my master.113

15 And it came1961 to pass, before2962 he had done3615 speaking,1696 that, behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 out, who834 was born3205 to Bethuel,1328 son1121 of Milcah,4435 the wife802 of Nahor,5152 Abraham's85 brother,251 with her pitcher3537 on her shoulder.7926

16 And the damsel5291 was very3966 fair2896 to look4758 on, a virgin,1330 neither3808 had any man376 known3045 her: and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and filled4390 her pitcher,3537 and came5927 up.

17 And the servant5650 ran7323 to meet7125 her, and said,559 Let me, I pray4994 you, drink1572 a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher.3537

24 And she said559 to him, I am the daughter1323 of Bethuel1328 the son1121 of Milcah,4435 which834 she bore3205 to Nahor.5152

25 She said559 moreover to him, We have both1571 straw8401 and provender4554 enough,7227 and room4725 to lodge3885 in.

26 And the man376 bowed6915 down6915 his head, and worshipped7812 the LORD.3068

27 And he said,559 Blessed1288 be the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 who834 has not left5800 destitute5800 my master113 of his mercy2617 and his truth:571 I being in the way,1870 the LORD3068 led5148 me to the house1004 of my master's113 brothers.251

28 And the damsel5291 ran,7323 and told5046 them of her mother's517 house1004 these428 things.1697

29 And Rebekah7259 had a brother,251 and his name8034 was Laban:3837 and Laban3837 ran7323 out to the man,376 to the well.5869

43 Behold,2009 I stand5324 by the well5869 of water;4325 and it shall come1961 to pass, that when the virgin5959 comes3318 forth3318 to draw7579 water, and I say559 to her, Give me, I pray4994 you, a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher3537 to drink;8248

44 And she say559 to me, Both drink8354 you, and I will also1571 draw7579 for your camels:1581 let the same be the woman802 whom834 the LORD3068 has appointed3198 out for my master's113 son.1121

45 And before2962 I had done3615 speaking1696 in my heart,3820 behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 forth3318 with her pitcher3537 on5921 her shoulder;7926 and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and drew7579 water: and I said559 to her, Let me drink,8248 I pray4994 you.

46 And she made haste,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 from her shoulder, and said,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 so I drank,8354 and she made the camels1581 drink8354 also.1571

47 And I asked7592 her, and said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? And she said,559 the daughter1323 of Bethuel,1328 Nahor's5152 son,1121 whom834 Milcah4435 bore3205 to him: and I put7760 the earring5141 on her face,639 and the bracelets6781 on her hands.3027

48 And I bowed6915 down6915 my head, and worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 and blessed1288 the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 which834 had led5148 me in the right571 way1870 to take3947 my master's113 brother's251 daughter1323 to his son.1121

49 And now6258 if518 you will deal6213 kindly2617 and truly571 with my master,113 tell5046 me: and if518 not, tell5046 me; that I may turn6437 to the right3225 hand,3225 or176 to the left.8040

50 Then Laban3837 and Bethuel1328 answered6030 and said,559 The thing1697 proceeds3318 from the LORD:3068 we cannot3808 3201 speak1696 to you bad7451 or176 good.2896

51 Behold,2009 Rebekah7259 is before6440 you, take3947 her, and go,3212 and let her be your master's113 son's1121 wife,802 as the LORD3068 has spoken.1696

52 And it came1961 to pass, that, when Abraham's85 servant5650 heard8085 their words,1697 he worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 bowing himself to the earth.776

53 And the servant5650 brought3318 forth3318 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold,2091 and raiment,899 and gave5414 them to Rebekah:7259 he gave5414 also to her brother251 and to her mother517 precious4030 things.1697

54 And they did eat398 and drink,8354 he and the men582 that were with him, and tarried3885 all3885 night; and they rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and he said,559 Send7971 me away to my master.113

5 Раб спросил его: «А что, если девица не захочет идти со мной в эту далекую от ее дома землю? Должен ли я вернуть сына твоего в страну, из которой ты сюда переселился?»

5 And the servant5650 said559 to him, Peradventure194 the woman802 will not be willing14 to follow3212 310 me to this2063 land:776 must I needs7725 bring7725 your son1121 again7725 to the land776 from from where834 8033 you came?3318

6 «Ни в коем случае! — ответил ему Авраам. — Не возвращай моего сына туда!

6 And Abraham85 said559 to him, Beware8104 you that you bring7725 not my son1121 thither8033 again.7725

7 ГОСПОДЬ, Бог небес, Который взял меня из отчего дома и родной страны и Который обещал мне с клятвой: „Потомкам твоим отдам Я землю эту“, — Он пошлет ангела Своего перед тобою и позаботится о том, чтобы ты взял жену сыну моему оттуда.

7 The LORD3068 God430 of heaven,8064 which834 took3947 me from my father's1 house,1004 and from the land776 of my kindred,4138 and which834 spoke1696 to me, and that swore7650 to me, saying,559 To your seed2233 will I give5414 this2063 land;776 he shall send7971 his angel4397 before6440 you, and you shall take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 from there.8033

8 А если та девица не захочет идти с тобой, ты будешь свободен от клятвы, что ныне даешь мне. Только сына моего туда не возвращай».

8 And if the woman802 will not be willing14 to follow3212 310 you, then you shall be clear5352 from this my oath:7621 only7535 bring7725 not my son1121 thither again.7725

9 И положил тогда раб руку свою под бедро Авраама, господина своего, и поклялся исполнить его желание.

9 And the servant5650 put7760 his hand3027 under8478 the thigh3409 of Abraham85 his master,113 and swore7650 to him concerning5921 that matter.1697

10 А потом взял десять верблюдов из стада своего господина и отправился в путь. Верблюдов он навьючил всевозможными ценными вещами господина своего, чтобы использовать их по своему усмотрению. Шел он со своим караваном в город Нахора, в Арам-Нахараим.

10 And the servant5650 took3947 ten6235 camels1581 of the camels1581 of his master,113 and departed;3212 for all3605 the goods2898 of his master113 were in his hand:3027 and he arose,6965 and went3212 to Mesopotamia,763 to the city5892 of Nahor.5152

11 Перед городом, у колодца, он опустил верблюдов на колени (происходило это под вечер, в то время, когда женщины выходят из города за водой).

11 And he made his camels1581 to kneel1288 down1288 without2351 the city5892 by a well875 of water4325 at the time6256 of the evening,6153 even the time6256 that women go3318 out to draw7579 water.

12 «ГОСПОДИ, Боже господина моего Авраама, — воззвал он, — молю Тебя, да произойдет всё на моих глазах сегодня, яви милость господину моему Аврааму.

12 And he said 559O LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 I pray4994 you, send7136 me good speed7136 this day,3117 and show6213 kindness2617 to my master113 Abraham.85

13 Вот я стою у этого источника, и дочери горожан приходят сюда за водой.

13 Behold,2009 I stand5324 here by the well5869 of water;4325 and the daughters1323 of the men582 of the city5892 come3318 out to draw7579 water:4325

14 Я скажу одной из девушек: „Сделай одолжение, спусти кувшин, чтобы мне напиться“, и если она ответит мне: „Прошу тебя, пей, я и верблюдов твоих тоже напою“, — пусть это и будет та, которую Ты решил дать в жены слуге Своему Исааку. Так узнаю я, что Ты явил милость господину моему».

14 And let it come1961 to pass, that the damsel5291 to whom834 I shall say,559 Let5186 down5186 your pitcher,3537 I pray4994 you, that I may drink;8354 and she shall say,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 let the same be she that you have appointed3198 for your servant5650 Isaac;3327 and thereby shall I know3045 that you have showed6213 kindness2617 to my master.113

15 Еще не закончил он молиться, как увидел Ревекку, пришедшую к источнику с кувшином на плече. Она была дочерью Бетуэля, сына Мильки, жены Авраамова брата Нахора.

15 And it came1961 to pass, before2962 he had done3615 speaking,1696 that, behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 out, who834 was born3205 to Bethuel,1328 son1121 of Milcah,4435 the wife802 of Nahor,5152 Abraham's85 brother,251 with her pitcher3537 on her shoulder.7926

16 Ревекка была очень красива и еще не замужем, жила в девичестве своем. Она спустилась к источнику, наполнила кувшин свой и поднялась наверх.

16 And the damsel5291 was very3966 fair2896 to look4758 on, a virgin,1330 neither3808 had any man376 known3045 her: and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and filled4390 her pitcher,3537 and came5927 up.

17 Раб тот поспешил ей навстречу и попросил: «Позволь мне испить воды из твоего кувшина».

17 And the servant5650 ran7323 to meet7125 her, and said,559 Let me, I pray4994 you, drink1572 a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher.3537

18 «Прошу тебя, пей, господин мой», — ответила она и тотчас спустила кувшин с плеча, дала ему пить

18 And she said,559 Drink,8354 my lord:113 and she hurried,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 on her hand,3027 and gave him drink.8248

19 и, утолив его жажду, сказала: «Я стану черпать воду и для верблюдов твоих, пока не напьются».

19 And when she had done3615 giving him drink,8248 she said,559 I will draw7579 water for your camels1581 also,1571 until5704 515 they have done3615 drinking.8354

20 Она быстро вылила воду из кувшина в поилку для скота, и опять побежала к колодцу, и продолжала носить воду верблюдам, пока все они не напились.

20 And she hurried,4116 and emptied6168 her pitcher3537 into413 the trough,8268 and ran7323 again5750 to the well875 to draw7579 water, and drew7579 for all3605 his camels.1581

21 Всё это время человек тот, не говоря ни слова, наблюдал за ней, желая понять: благословил ли ГОСПОДЬ его путь или нет?

21 And the man376 wondering7583 at her held2790 his peace,2790 to wit3045 whether the LORD3068 had made6743 his journey1870 prosperous6743 or not.

22 Как только верблюды напились, он дал ей золотую серьгу для носа (весом в полшекеля) и два золотых браслета (по десять шекелей весом каждый)

22 And it came1961 to pass, as the camels1581 had done3615 drinking,8354 that the man376 took3947 a golden2091 earring5141 of half1235 a shekel1235 weight,4948 and two8147 bracelets6781 for her hands3027 of ten6235 shekels weight4948 of gold;2091

23 и спросил: «Чья ты дочь? Скажи мне, есть ли в доме отца твоего место, чтобы мне и людям моим переночевать?»

23 And said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? tell5046 me, I pray4994 you: is there room4725 in your father's1 house1004 for us to lodge3885 in?

24 «Я дочь Бетуэля, сына Мильки и Нахора, — ответила она

24 And she said559 to him, I am the daughter1323 of Bethuel1328 the son1121 of Milcah,4435 which834 she bore3205 to Nahor.5152

25 и тут же добавила: — У нас много соломы и корма и есть место для ночлега».

25 She said559 moreover to him, We have both1571 straw8401 and provender4554 enough,7227 and room4725 to lodge3885 in.

26 Пал ниц человек тот, поклонился ГОСПОДУ

26 And the man376 bowed6915 down6915 his head, and worshipped7812 the LORD.3068

27 и сказал: «Слава ГОСПОДУ, Богу господина моего Авраама! Явил Он неизменную милость и верность Свою господину моему! Сам ГОСПОДЬ привел меня прямо к дому брата господина моего».

27 And he said,559 Blessed1288 be the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 who834 has not left5800 destitute5800 my master113 of his mercy2617 and his truth:571 I being in the way,1870 the LORD3068 led5148 me to the house1004 of my master's113 brothers.251

28 Девица тем временем убежала и в доме матери рассказала обо всем случившемся.

28 And the damsel5291 ran,7323 and told5046 them of her mother's517 house1004 these428 things.1697

29 [29-30] У Ревекки был брат по имени Лаван. Когда Лаван увидел серьгу для носа и браслеты на руках у сестры своей и услышал от сестры своей Ревекки всё, что сказал ей тот человек, он поспешил к источнику. Раб Авраама всё еще стоял там со своими верблюдами. Лаван подошел к нему

29 And Rebekah7259 had a brother,251 and his name8034 was Laban:3837 and Laban3837 ran7323 out to the man,376 to the well.5869

30 And it came1961 to pass, when he saw7200 the earring5141 and bracelets6781 on his sister's269 hands,3027 and when he heard8085 the words1697 of Rebekah7259 his sister,269 saying,559 Thus3541 spoke1696 the man376 to me; that he came935 to the man;376 and, behold,2009 he stood5975 by the camels1581 at5921 the well.5869

31 и, приглашая его к себе домой, сказал: «Благословенный ГОСПОДОМ! Зачем тебе стоять здесь вне города, когда я уже велел приготовить для вас ночлег и стойла для ваших верблюдов».

31 And he said,559 Come935 in, you blessed1288 of the LORD;3068 why4100 stand5975 you without?2351 for I have prepared6437 the house,1004 and room4725 for the camels.1581

32 Раб Авраамов принял приглашение и вошел в дом. Верблюдов его развьючили, дали им соломы и корма и принесли воды, чтобы вымыть ноги рабу и спутникам его.

32 And the man376 came935 into the house:1004 and he ungirded6605 his camels,1581 and gave5414 straw8401 and provender4554 for the camels,1581 and water4325 to wash7364 his feet,7272 and the men's582 feet7272 that were with him.

33 Но когда перед ним поставили пищу, он возразил: «Не стану есть, пока не расскажу о деле, порученном мне». «Говори, мы послушаем», — сказал Лаван.

33 And there was set7760 meat before6440 him to eat:398 but he said,559 I will not eat,398 until5704 515 I have told1696 my errand.1697 And he said,559 Speak1696 on.

34 «Я раб Авраама, — начал тот свой рассказ. —

34 And he said,559 I am Abraham's85 servant.5650

35 ГОСПОДЬ щедро благословил господина моего: стал он великим человеком. Дал ГОСПОДЬ ему овец и коров, серебро и золото, рабов и рабынь, верблюдов и ослов.

35 And the LORD3068 has blessed1288 my master113 greatly;3966 and he is become1431 great:1431 and he has given5414 him flocks,6629 and herds,1241 and silver,3701 and gold,2091 and menservants,5650 and maidservants,8198 and camels,1581 and asses.2543

36 И Сарра, жена господина моего, несмотря на старость свою, родила господину моему сына, которому он передал всё, чем сам владеет.

36 And Sarah8283 my master's113 wife802 bore3205 a son1121 to my master113 when310 she was old:2209 and to him has he given5414 all3605 that he has.

37 Господин мой взял с меня клятву, что жену для сына его я не стану искать среди местных девиц, ханаанеянок,

37 And my master113 made me swear,7650 saying,559 You shall not take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 of the daughters1323 of the Canaanites,3669 in whose834 land776 I dwell:3427

38 а пойду в его отчий дом, к родственникам его, и там возьму жену для его сына.

38 But you shall go3212 to my father's1 house,1004 and to my kindred,4940 and take3947 a wife802 to my son.1121

39 Я сказал господину моему: „Может ведь случиться, что девушка не пойдет со мной“.

39 And I said559 to my master,113 Peradventure194 the woman802 will not follow3212 310 me.

40 На это он так мне ответил: „ГОСПОДЬ, перед лицом Которого я живу, пошлет с тобой ангела Своего, и на твоем пути всё сложится так, что ты возьмешь жену сыну моему из семьи родственников моих и из дома отца моего,

40 And he said559 to me, The LORD,3068 before6440 whom834 I walk,1980 will send7971 his angel4397 with you, and prosper6743 your way;1870 and you shall take3947 a wife802 for my son1121 of my kindred,4940 and of my father's1 house:1004

41 и будешь ты свободен от данной мне клятвы. Но если ты сходишь к родственникам моим, а они не дадут тебе девицу, также будешь свободен от этой клятвы“.

41 Then227 shall you be clear5352 from this my oath,423 when you come935 to my kindred;4940 and if518 they give5414 not you one, you shall be clear5355 from my oath.423

42 И поэтому сегодня, остановившись возле источника, я сказал в молитве: „ГОСПОДИ, Боже господина моего Авраама! Если Тебе угодно, чтобы удачно завершился путь мой, то пусть бы всё произошло так:

42 And I came935 this day3117 to the well,5869 and said,559 O LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 if518 now4994 you do prosper6743 my way1870 which I go:1980

43 вот я стою у источника, и, когда придет сюда девушка за водой, я попрошу ее дать мне испить воды из ее кувшина.

43 Behold,2009 I stand5324 by the well5869 of water;4325 and it shall come1961 to pass, that when the virgin5959 comes3318 forth3318 to draw7579 water, and I say559 to her, Give me, I pray4994 you, a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher3537 to drink;8248

44 Если она скажет мне: „И ты пей, и верблюдам твоим я начерпаю“, — пусть она и окажется той, которую Ты, ГОСПОДЬ, приготовил в жены для сына господина моего“.

44 And she say559 to me, Both drink8354 you, and I will also1571 draw7579 for your camels:1581 let the same be the woman802 whom834 the LORD3068 has appointed3198 out for my master's113 son.1121

45 Не успел я вымолвить это всё про себя, как из города вышла Ревекка с кувшином на плече; она сошла к источнику и зачерпнула воды. Тут-то я и попросил ее напоить меня.

45 And before2962 I had done3615 speaking1696 in my heart,3820 behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 forth3318 with her pitcher3537 on5921 her shoulder;7926 and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and drew7579 water: and I said559 to her, Let me drink,8248 I pray4994 you.

46 Она тотчас спустила с плеча кувшин и сказала: „Конечно же, пей, и верблюдов твоих я напою“. И я напился, и верблюдов она напоила.

46 And she made haste,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 from her shoulder, and said,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 so I drank,8354 and she made the camels1581 drink8354 also.1571

47 Я спросил ее, чья она дочь, и она ответила мне: „Я — дочь Бетуэля, сына Нахора и Мильки“. Услышав это, я подарил ей серьгу для носа и браслеты на руки.

47 And I asked7592 her, and said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? And she said,559 the daughter1323 of Bethuel,1328 Nahor's5152 son,1121 whom834 Milcah4435 bore3205 to him: and I put7760 the earring5141 on her face,639 and the bracelets6781 on her hands.3027

48 И пал я ниц, и поклонился ГОСПОДУ, и восславил ГОСПОДА, Бога господина моего Авраама, Бога, Который прямым путем привел меня сюда — взять в жены для сына господина моего дочь его родственника.

48 And I bowed6915 down6915 my head, and worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 and blessed1288 the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 which834 had led5148 me in the right571 way1870 to take3947 my master's113 brother's251 daughter1323 to his son.1121

49 Итак, скажите мне: вы готовы явить свою любовь и верность моему господину? А если нет, тоже скажите прямо, чтобы я знал, как мне поступить».

49 And now6258 if518 you will deal6213 kindly2617 and truly571 with my master,113 tell5046 me: and if518 not, tell5046 me; that I may turn6437 to the right3225 hand,3225 or176 to the left.8040

50 И отвечали Лаван и Бетуэль: «Это от ГОСПОДА. Он привел тебя сюда, и можем ли мы возразить тебе?

50 Then Laban3837 and Bethuel1328 answered6030 and said,559 The thing1697 proceeds3318 from the LORD:3068 we cannot3808 3201 speak1696 to you bad7451 or176 good.2896

51 Вот Ревекка — бери ее с собой и иди. Пусть будет она женой сыну господина твоего, коль так ГОСПОДЬ рассудил».

51 Behold,2009 Rebekah7259 is before6440 you, take3947 her, and go,3212 and let her be your master's113 son's1121 wife,802 as the LORD3068 has spoken.1696

52 Услышав слова их, раб Авраамов поклонился ГОСПОДУ до земли.

52 And it came1961 to pass, that, when Abraham's85 servant5650 heard8085 their words,1697 he worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 bowing himself to the earth.776

53 Затем он достал серебряные и золотые вещи и наряды и дал Ревекке, брату ее и матери он также сделал богатые подарки.

53 And the servant5650 brought3318 forth3318 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold,2091 and raiment,899 and gave5414 them to Rebekah:7259 he gave5414 also to her brother251 and to her mother517 precious4030 things.1697

54 После того он и его спутники и ели, и пили, и переночевали там. Утром же, когда все встали, он сказал: «Отпустите меня к господину моему».

54 And they did eat398 and drink,8354 he and the men582 that were with him, and tarried3885 all3885 night; and they rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and he said,559 Send7971 me away to my master.113

55 Но брат и мать ее стали уговаривать его: «Пусть еще какое-то время побудет с нами девица, хотя бы дней десять, а потом пойдете».

55 And her brother251 and her mother517 said,559 Let the damsel5291 abide3427 with us a few days,3117 at176 the least176 ten;6218 after310 that she shall go.3212

56 «Не удерживайте меня, ибо Сам ГОСПОДЬ увенчал успехом мой путь! — настаивал он. — Отпустите меня, и я пойду к господину моему».

56 And he said559 to them, Hinder309 me not, seeing the LORD3068 has prospered6743 my way;1870 send7971 me away that I may go3212 to my master.113

57 Тогда они сказали: «Давайте позовем девицу и спросим, что она скажет».

57 And they said,559 We will call7121 the damsel,5291 and inquire7592 at her mouth.6310

58 Позвали Ревекку, и, когда спросили ее: «Пойдешь с этим человеком?» — она не колеблясь ответила: «Пойду».

58 And they called7121 Rebekah,7259 and said559 to her, Will you go3212 with this2088 man?376 And she said,559 I will go.3212

59 Простились они с Ревеккой, дочерью и сестрой своей, и с рабом Авраама и спутниками его. Вместе с ними проводили они и кормилицу Ревекки.

59 And they sent7971 away Rebekah7259 their sister,269 and her nurse,3243 and Abraham's85 servant,5650 and his men.582

60 Прощаясь, они благословили Ревекку, высказали ей свое пожелание: «Сестра наша! Да родятся от тебя тысячи тысяч! Да не устоят перед потомками твоими врата вражеские!»

60 And they blessed1288 Rebekah,7259 and said559 to her, You are our sister,269 be you the mother of thousands505 of millions,7233 and let your seed2233 possess3423 the gate8179 of those which hate8130 them.

61 Тогда Ревекка и служанки ее собрались и, сев на верблюдов, поехали вслед за тем человеком. Так раб Авраама отправился домой, выполнив поручение господина: он вез Ревекку.

61 And Rebekah7259 arose,6965 and her damsels,5291 and they rode7392 on the camels,1581 and followed3212 310 the man:376 and the servant5650 took3947 Rebekah,7259 and went3212 his way.3212

62 А Исаак, живший в то время в Негеве, только что вернулся домой после посещения колодца Беэр-Лахай-Рои.

62 And Isaac3327 came935 from the way935 of the well875 Lahairoi;883 for he dwelled3427 in the south5045 country.776

63 Вечером Исаак вышел в поле поразмышлять и помолиться. Он посмотрел вдаль и увидел приближающихся верблюдов.

63 And Isaac3327 went3318 out to meditate in the field7704 at the eventide:6256 6153 and he lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and saw,7200 and, behold,2009 the camels1581 were coming.935

64 Ревекка заметила Исаака и тут же сошла с верблюда.

64 And Rebekah7259 lifted5375 up her eyes,5869 and when she saw7200 Isaac,3327 she lighted5307 off5921 the camel.1581

65 «Что за человек идет по полю нам навстречу?» — спросила она у Авраамова раба. «Это мой господин», — ответил раб. Она взяла покрывало и набросила на себя.

65 For she had said559 to the servant,5650 What4310 man376 is this1976 that walks1980 in the field7704 to meet7125 us? And the servant5650 had said,559 It is my master:113 therefore she took3947 a veil,6809 and covered3680 herself.

66 Раб рассказал Исааку обо всем, что с ним произошло.

66 And the servant5650 told5608 Isaac3327 all3605 things1697 that he had done.6213

67 И ввел Исаак Ревекку в шатер Сарры, покойной матери своей. Так стала она его женой, любимой его и утешением после кончины его матери.

67 And Isaac3327 brought935 her into his mother517 Sarah's8283 tent,168 and took3947 Rebekah,7259 and she became1961 his wife;802 and he loved157 her: and Isaac3327 was comforted5162 after310 his mother's517 death.
