Глава 19

1 Тогда Иов ответил:

2 — Долго еще вам мучить меня и своими словами меня терзать?

3 Вот уже десять раз вы меня стыдили. Вам не стыдно меня оскорблять?

4 Если я и впрямь согрешил, при мне мой грех и останется.

5 А если хотите передо мною кичиться, позором моим меня упрекать,

6 то знайте: Бог причинил мне зло и сеть Свою на меня набросил.

7 Я кричу: «Обида!» — но нет ответа; я зову на помощь, но нет суда.

8 Он мой путь заградил — не пройти; Он покрыл мои тропы мглой.

9 Он совлек с меня мою славу, и с головы моей снял венец.

10 Он крушит меня со всех сторон — я ухожу. Он исторг надежду мою, как дерево.

11 Воспылал на меня гнев Его. Он считает меня врагом.

12 Подступают вместе Его полки, вал осадный против меня возводят, стан разбивают вокруг моего шатра.

13 Он удалил моих братьев от меня; и близкие люди стали чужими.

14 Отвернулись сородичи от меня, и друзья обо мне забыли.

15 Гости мои и мои служанки считают меня чужаком, глядят на меня, как на постороннего.

16 Я зову слугу, а ответа нет; устами своими я умолять его должен.

17 Опротивело моей жене мое дыхание, я стал отвратителен моим братьям.

18 Даже малые дети меня презирают; поднимаюсь — они надо мной смеются.

19 Близкие друзья гнушаются меня; те, кого я любил, обратились против меня.

20 От меня остались лишь кожа да кости, я остался лишь с кожей возле зубов.

21 Сжальтесь, сжальтесь, друзья мои, надо мной, ведь меня поразила рука Божья.

22 Зачем вы преследуете меня, как Бог, и не можете плотью моей насытиться?

23 О если бы записаны были мои слова, были бы в свитке начертаны,

24 выбиты железным резцом по свинцу, врезаны в камень навеки!

25 Но я знаю: Искупитель мой жив, и в конце Он встанет над землей ; и когда моя кожа с меня спадет,

26 я все же во плоти моей увижу Бога ;

27 я сам увижу Его и не буду Ему чужим, своими глазами увижу Его. Как томится в груди моей сердце!

28 Если скажете: «Как нам его преследовать, раз корень зла находится в нем?» —

29 то бойтесь меча, ведь гнев карает мечом, чтобы вы познали, что есть суд.

2 How5704 long5704 will you vex3013 my soul,5315 and break1792 me in pieces with words?4405

3 These2088 ten6235 times6471 have you reproached3637 me: you are not ashamed954 that you make yourselves strange1970 to me.

4 And be it indeed551 that I have erred,7683 my error4879 remains3885 with myself.

5 If518 indeed551 you will magnify1431 yourselves against5921 me, and plead3198 against5921 me my reproach:2781

6 Know3045 now645 that God433 has overthrown5791 me, and has compassed5362 me with his net.4685

7 Behold,2005 I cry6817 out of wrong,2555 but I am not heard:6030 I cry7768 aloud,7768 but there is no3808 judgment.4941

8 He has fenced1443 up my way734 that I cannot3808 pass,5674 and he has set7760 darkness2822 in my paths.5410

9 He has stripped6584 me of my glory,3519 and taken5493 the crown5850 from my head.7218

10 He has destroyed5422 me on every5437 side,5439 and I am gone:3212 and my hope8615 has he removed5265 like a tree.6086

11 He has also kindled2734 his wrath639 against5921 me, and he counts2803 me to him as one of his enemies.6862

12 His troops1416 come935 together,3162 and raise5549 up their way1870 against5921 me, and encamp2583 round5439 about my tabernacle.168

13 He has put my brothers251 far7350 from me, and my acquaintance3045 are truly389 estranged2114 from me.

14 My kinsfolk7138 have failed,2308 and my familiar3045 friends have forgotten7911 me.

15 They that dwell1481 in my house,1004 and my maids,519 count2803 me for a stranger:2114 I am an alien5237 in their sight.5869

16 I called7121 my servant,5650 and he gave me no3808 answer;6030 I entreated2603 him with my mouth.6310

17 My breath7307 is strange2114 to my wife,802 though I entreated2589 for the children's1121 sake of my own body.990

18 Yes,1571 young children despised3988 me; I arose,6965 and they spoke1696 against me.

19 All3605 my inward5475 friends4962 abhorred8581 me: and they whom I loved157 are turned2015 against me.

20 My bone6106 sticks1692 to my skin5785 and to my flesh,1320 and I am escaped4422 with the skin5785 of my teeth.8127

21 Have pity2603 on me, have pity2603 on me, O you my friends;7453 for the hand3027 of God433 has touched5060 me.

22 Why4100 do you persecute7291 me as God,410 and are not satisfied7646 with my flesh?1320

23 Oh that my words4405 were now645 written!3789 oh that they were printed2710 in a book!5612
