Глава 34

1 Затем Элигу продолжал говорить:

2 — Послушайте, мудрые, мою речь. Внимайте мне, умные люди.

3 Ведь ухо разбирает слова, как язык — вкус пищи.

4 Так давайте решим, где правда, и рассудим, что есть добро.

5 Иов сказал: «Я невинен, но лишил меня Бог правосудия.

6 И хоть я прав — меня считают лжецом. Хоть я без греха, моя рана от Его стрелы неисцелима».

7 Есть ли еще такой человек, как Иов, кто кощунство, как воду, пьет?

8 Он дружит с нечестивыми, и общается со злодеями.

9 Ведь он говорит: «Нет выгоды человеку, который старается угодить Богу».

10 Потому, имеющие разум, послушайте меня! Не может быть у Бога неправды, чужд Всемогущий злу.

11 Воздает он смертному по делам и обходится с ним по его заслугам.

12 Воистину, Бог не делает зла, Всемогущий не извращает суд.

13 Кто отдал землю Ему во власть? Кто поставил Его над вселенной?

14 Если бы Он решил забрать Свой дух и отозвал бы Свое дыхание,

15 то погибла бы разом любая плоть, и возвратился бы смертный во прах.

16 Имеешь ты разум, так слушай это; внимай моей речи.

17 Разве правил бы Бог, если бы ненавидел правосудие? Обвинишь ли ты Справедливого и Могучего,

18 Который говорит царю: «Негодяй!» — и вельможам: «Вы беззаконники!»?

19 Он вождям не выказывает пристрастий и не ставит богатого выше бедного, ведь все они — творение Его рук.

20 Они умирают мгновенно в полночь; мечутся люди и угасают; не руки смертных сражают сильных.

21 Глаза Его над путями людей; Он видит каждый их шаг.

22 Нет ни мрака, ни тьмы кромешной, где могли бы спрятаться беззаконники.

23 Ведь Богу нет нужды назначать время человеку, чтобы предстать на суд перед Ним.

24 Без допроса сокрушает Он сильных и других на их место ставит.

25 Истинно, ведая их дела, низлагает их ночью — и им конец.

26 На глазах у людей Он карает их за грехи,

27 ведь они от Него отступили, не познали Его путей.

28 И дошел до него крик бедных, Он услышал крик страдальцев.

29 Если Он промолчит, кто Его укорит? Если скроет Он лицо Свое, кто сможет Его увидеть? Он над народом и над человеком,

30 чтобы не царствовали безбожники, став сетью для народа.

31 Положим, кто-нибудь скажет Богу : «Я виновен — больше не согрешу.

32 Научи меня, если что-то не знаю ; если я согрешил, то впредь зарекусь».

33 Тогда должен ли Бог тебя удостоить награды, когда ты отказываешься раскаяться? Ты должен решать, а не я. Говори же, что знаешь.

34 Люди разумные скажут мне, мудрецы, кто услышит меня:

35 «От невежества говорит Иов, нет в его речи разума».

36 О, когда бы до конца был испытан Иов, за ответы, достойные беззаконных!

37 К греху своему приложил он бунт; насмехаясь над нами, он бьет в ладоши и слова против Бога множит.

Job

Chapter 34

1 MOREOVER Elihu continued and said.

2 Hear my words, O you wise men, and give ear to me, you that have knowledge.

3 For the ear tries words, and the palate tastes food.

4 Let us choose for us a judge; let him know among ourselves what is good.

5 For Job has said, I am righteous; and God has turned aside my judgment.

6 Who is the man who has perished without transgression?

7 What man is like Job, who drinks up scorning like water?

8 Who is a companion and friend of the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?

9 For he has said that a man is not justified because he fears God.

10 Therefore hearken to me, O you men of understanding; far be it from God that he should do wickedness; and far be it from him that he should commit iniquity.

11 For he compensates a man according to his works, and causes every man to be rewarded according to his ways.

12 Truly, God does not commit iniquity, neither does God pervert justice.

13 Who has control over the earth? Or who has made all the world?

14 If he should turn his heart against man, man's spirit and his breath will be gathered to him.

15 Then all flesh would perish together, and man would return again to dust.

16 If now you have understanding, hear this; hearken to the voice of my words.

17 He who hates justice cannot be declared innocent, and he who is innocent will not be condemned justly;

18 He who says concerning the king that he is wicked, and yet he is a good ruler over princes and governors;

19 And not partial to princes, and does not discriminate against the poor (for they are all the work of his hands);

20 In a moment shall he die, and he shall be consumed at midnight, and pass away; he will be rendered powerless by the Almighty.

21 For his eyes are upon all the ways of man, and he sees all his goings.

22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

23 For he has not set a time for a man that he should enter into judgment with God.

24 For he has brought misfortune to many men without number, and sets others in their places.

25 Therefore he knows them by their works, and he overturns them in the night.

26 Their works shall be crushed under the weight of their wickedness in a land of terror;

27 Because they turned aside from following him, and did not consider any of his ways.

28 The prayer of the poor comes to him, and he hears the cry of the afflicted.

29 When he forgives, who then can condemn? And when he turns his face away, who can forgive the people, or mankind altogether?

30 He sees to it that an impious and wicked man shall not reign over the people.

31 For God has said, I have forgiven, I will not destroy men who are without sin.

32 en_lbp_inform me now, teach me, if you have committed iniquity;

33 I will not answer you any more, because you have sinned, for you have been examined, and not I; therefore speak out what you know.

34 Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken to me.

35 Job has spoken without knowledge, and his words are without understanding.

36 Truly, Job has been tested to the end, and yet he is not counted among the wicked.

37 And if Job should add to his sins, then his transgression will affect us all, and he still will bring his complaint before God.

5 Иов сказал: «Я невинен, но лишил меня Бог правосудия.	5 For Job has said, I am righteous; and God has turned aside my judgment.
6 И хоть я прав — меня считают лжецом. Хоть я без греха, моя рана от Его стрелы неисцелима».	6 Who is the man who has perished without transgression?
7 Есть ли еще такой человек, как Иов, кто кощунство, как воду, пьет?	7 What man is like Job, who drinks up scorning like water?
8 Он дружит с нечестивыми, и общается со злодеями.	8 Who is a companion and friend of the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?
9 Ведь он говорит: «Нет выгоды человеку, который старается угодить Богу».	9 For he has said that a man is not justified because he fears God.
10 Потому, имеющие разум, послушайте меня! Не может быть у Бога неправды, чужд Всемогущий злу.	10 Therefore hearken to me, O you men of understanding; far be it from God that he should do wickedness; and far be it from him that he should commit iniquity.
11 Воздает он смертному по делам и обходится с ним по его заслугам.	11 For he compensates a man according to his works, and causes every man to be rewarded according to his ways.
12 Воистину, Бог не делает зла, Всемогущий не извращает суд.	12 Truly, God does not commit iniquity, neither does God pervert justice.
13 Кто отдал землю Ему во власть? Кто поставил Его над вселенной?	13 Who has control over the earth? Or who has made all the world?
14 Если бы Он решил забрать Свой дух и отозвал бы Свое дыхание,	14 If he should turn his heart against man, man's spirit and his breath will be gathered to him.
15 то погибла бы разом любая плоть, и возвратился бы смертный во прах.	15 Then all flesh would perish together, and man would return again to dust.
16 Имеешь ты разум, так слушай это; внимай моей речи.	16 If now you have understanding, hear this; hearken to the voice of my words.
17 Разве правил бы Бог, если бы ненавидел правосудие? Обвинишь ли ты Справедливого и Могучего,	17 He who hates justice cannot be declared innocent, and he who is innocent will not be condemned justly;
18 Который говорит царю: «Негодяй!» — и вельможам: «Вы беззаконники!»?	18 He who says concerning the king that he is wicked, and yet he is a good ruler over princes and governors;
19 Он вождям не выказывает пристрастий и не ставит богатого выше бедного, ведь все они — творение Его рук.	19 And not partial to princes, and does not discriminate against the poor (for they are all the work of his hands);

25 Истинно, ведая их дела, низлагает их ночью — и им конец.	25 Therefore he knows them by their works, and he overturns them in the night.
26 На глазах у людей Он карает их за грехи,	26 Their works shall be crushed under the weight of their wickedness in a land of terror;
27 ведь они от Него отступили, не познали Его путей.	27 Because they turned aside from following him, and did not consider any of his ways.
28 И дошел до него крик бедных, Он услышал крик страдальцев.	28 The prayer of the poor comes to him, and he hears the cry of the afflicted.
29 Если Он промолчит, кто Его укорит? Если скроет Он лицо Свое, кто сможет Его увидеть? Он над народом и над человеком,	29 When he forgives, who then can condemn? And when he turns his face away, who can forgive the people, or mankind altogether?
30 чтобы не царствовали безбожники, став сетью для народа.	30 He sees to it that an impious and wicked man shall not reign over the people.
31 Положим, кто-нибудь скажет Богу : «Я виновен — больше не согрешу.	31 For God has said, I have forgiven, I will not destroy men who are without sin.
32 Научи меня, если что-то не знаю ; если я согрешил, то впредь зарекусь».	32 en_lbp_inform me now, teach me, if you have committed iniquity;
33 Тогда должен ли Бог тебя удостоить награды, когда ты отказываешься раскаяться? Ты должен решать, а не я. Говори же, что знаешь.	33 I will not answer you any more, because you have sinned, for you have been examined, and not I; therefore speak out what you know.
34 Люди разумные скажут мне, мудрецы, кто услышит меня:	34 Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
35 «От невежества говорит Иов, нет в его речи разума».	35 Job has spoken without knowledge, and his words are without understanding.
36 О, когда бы до конца был испытан Иов, за ответы, достойные беззаконных!	36 Truly, Job has been tested to the end, and yet he is not counted among the wicked.
37 К греху своему приложил он бунт; насмехаясь над нами, он бьет в ладоши и слова против Бога множит.	37 And if Job should add to his sins, then his transgression will affect us all, and he still will bring his complaint before God.
