4 Of every tribe4294 a thousand,505 throughout all3605 the tribes4294 of Israel,3478 shall you send7971 to the war.6635

5 So there were delivered4560 out of the thousands505 of Israel,3478 a thousand505 of every tribe,4294 twelve8147 6240 thousand505 armed2502 for war.6635

6 And Moses4872 sent7971 them to the war,6635 a thousand505 of every tribe,4294 them and Phinehas6372 the son1121 of Eleazar499 the priest,3548 to the war,6635 with the holy6944 instruments,3627 and the trumpets2689 to blow8643 in his hand.3027

7 And they warred6633 against5921 the Midianites,4080 as the LORD3068 commanded6680 Moses;4872 and they slew2026 all3605 the males.2145

10 And they burnt8313 all3605 their cities5892 wherein they dwelled,4186 and all3605 their goodly castles,2918 with fire.784

11 And they took3947 all3605 the spoil,7998 and all3605 the prey,4455 both of men120 and of beasts.929

12 And they brought935 the captives,7628 and the prey,4455 and the spoil,7998 to Moses,4872 and Eleazar499 the priest,3548 and to the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 to the camp4264 at413 the plains6160 of Moab,4124 which834 are by Jordan3383 near Jericho.3405

17 Now6258 therefore kill2026 every3605 male2145 among the little2945 ones, and kill2026 every3605 woman802 that has known3045 man376 2145 by lying4904 with him.

18 But all3605 the women802 children,2945 that have not known3045 a man376 2145 by lying4904 with him, keep alive2421 for yourselves.

19 And do you abide2583 without2351 the camp4264 seven7651 days:3117 whoever3605 has killed2026 any person,5315 and whoever3605 has touched5060 any slain,2491 purify2398 both yourselves and your captives7628 on5921 the third7992 day,3117 and on5921 the seventh7637 day.3117

20 And purify2398 all3605 your raiment,899 and all3605 that is made3627 of skins,5785 and all3605 work4639 of goats'5795 hair, and all3605 things made of wood.6086

21 And Eleazar499 the priest3548 said559 to the men582 of war6635 which went935 to the battle,4421 This2063 is the ordinance2708 of the law8451 which834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 Moses;4872

22 Only389 the gold,2091 and the silver,3701 the brass,5178 the iron,1270 the tin,913 and the lead,5777

27 And divide2673 the prey4455 into413 two2673 parts; between996 them that took8610 the war4421 on them, who went3318 out to battle,6635 and between996 all3605 the congregation:5712

28 And levy7311 a tribute4371 to the Lord3068 of the men582 of war4421 which went3318 out to battle:6635 one259 soul5315 of five2568 hundred,3967 both of the persons,120 and of the beeves,1241 and of the asses,2543 and of the sheep:6629

29 Take3947 it of their half,4276 and give5414 it to Eleazar499 the priest,3548 for an heave8641 offering8641 of the LORD.3068

30 And of the children1121 of Israel's3478 half,4276 you shall take3947 one259 portion270 of fifty,2572 of the persons,120 of the beeves,1241 of the asses,2543 and of the flocks,6629 of all3605 manner of beasts,929 and give5414 them to the Levites,3881 which keep8104 the charge4931 of the tabernacle4908 of the LORD.3068

37 And the LORD's3068 tribute4371 of the sheep6629 was six8337 hundred3967 and three score7657 and fifteen.7657

38 And the beeves1241 were thirty7970 and six8337 thousand;505 of which the LORD's3068 tribute4371 was three score7657 and twelve.8147

39 And the asses2543 were thirty7970 thousand505 and five2568 hundred;3967 of which the LORD's3068 tribute4371 was three score8346 and one.259

40 And the persons5315 120 were sixteen8337 6240 thousand;505 of which the LORD's3068 tribute4371 was thirty7970 and two8147 persons.5315 120

41 And Moses4872 gave5414 the tribute,4371 which was the LORD's3068 heave8641 offering,8641 to Eleazar499 the priest,3548 as the LORD3068 commanded6680 Moses.4872

49 And they said559 to Moses,4872 Your servants5650 have taken5375 the sum7218 of the men582 of war4421 which834 are under our charge,3027 and there lacks6485 not one man376 of us.

50 We have therefore brought7126 an oblation7133 for the LORD,3068 what834 every man376 has gotten,4672 of jewels3627 of gold,2091 chains,685 and bracelets,6781 rings,2885 earrings,5694 and tablets,3558 to make5674 an atonement3722 for our souls5315 before6440 the LORD.3068

51 And Moses4872 and Eleazar499 the priest3548 took3947 the gold2091 of them, even all3605 worked4639 jewels.3627

52 And all3605 the gold2091 of the offering8641 that they offered7311 up to the LORD,3068 of the captains8269 of thousands,505 and of the captains8269 of hundreds,3967 was sixteen8337 6240 thousand505 seven7651 hundred3967 and fifty2572 shekels.8255

53 (For the men582 of war6635 had taken spoil,962 every man376 for himself.)

54 And Moses4872 and Eleazar499 the priest3548 took3947 the gold2091 of the captains8269 of thousands505 and of hundreds,3967 and brought935 it into413 the tabernacle168 of the congregation,4150 for a memorial2146 for the children1121 of Israel3478 before6440 the LORD.3068
