2 就是照父─神的先見被揀選、藉著靈［Spirit］得成聖潔，以致順服耶穌基督，又蒙他血所灑的人。願恩典［Grace］、平安多多的加給你們。

3 願頌讚歸與我們主耶穌基督的父神。他曾照自己的大憐憫，藉耶穌基督從死裏復活，重生了我們，叫我們有活潑的盼望，

4 可以得著不能朽壞、不能玷污、不能衰殘、為你們存留在天上的基業。

5 你們這因信蒙神能力保守的人，必能得著所預備，到末時［time］要顯現的救恩。

|
6 因此，你們是大有喜樂；但如今，因百般的試探［through manifold temptations］暫時憂愁，

7 叫你們的信心既被試驗，就比那被火試驗仍然能壞的金子更顯寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候得著稱讚、榮耀、尊貴。

8 你們雖然沒有見過他，卻是愛他；如今雖不得看見，卻因信他就有說不出來、滿有榮光的大喜樂；
|

9 並且得著你們信心的果效，就是你們元魂［your souls］的救恩。

10 論到這救恩，那預先說你們要得恩典的眾先知早已詳細的尋求考察，

|
11 就是考察在他們心裏基督的靈［Spirit］，預先證明基督受苦難，後來得榮耀，是指著甚麼時候，並怎樣的時候。

12 他們得了啟示，知道他們所服事［minister］的一切事，不是為自己，乃是為我們［us］。那靠著從天上差來的聖靈傳福音給你們的人，現在將這些事報給你們；天使也願意詳細察看這些事。

13 所以要束上你們思想的腰［gird up the loins of your mind］，謹慎自守，盼望［hope］耶穌基督顯現的時候所帶來給你們的恩，一直到底［to the end］；
|
13 Wherefore1352 gird up328 the3588 loins3751 of your5216 mind,1271 be sober,3525 and hope1679 to the end5049 for1909 the3588 grace5485 that is to be brought5342 unto you5213 at1722 the revelation602 of Jesus2424 Christ;5547
|
|
14 你們既作順命的兒女，就不要效法從前蒙昧無知的時候那放縱私慾的樣子。
|
14 As5613 obedient5218 children,5043 not3361 fashioning yourselves4964 according to the3588 former4386 lusts1939 in1722 your5216 ignorance: 52

|
15 那召你們的既是聖潔，你們在一切行為［conversation］上也要聖潔。
|

|
16 因為經上記著說：「你們要聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。」
|

17 你們既稱那不偏待人，按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心度你們在世寄居的日子，
|

18 知道你們得贖，脫去你們祖宗遵照遺傳［by tradition］所傳流虛妄的行為，不是憑著能壞的金銀等物，
|
18 Forasmuch as ye know1492 that3754 ye were not3756 redeemed3084 with corruptible things,5349 as silver694 and2228 gold,5553 from1537 your5216 vain3152 conversation391 received by tradition from your fathers;3970
|
|
19 乃是憑著基督的寶血，如同無瑕疵、無玷污的綿羊羔［lamb］之血。
|

|
20 他［Who］在創世以前固然［verily］是預先被神所定［foreordained］的，卻在這末時［times］才為你們顯現，
|
20 Who verily3303 was foreordained4267 before4253 the foundation2602 of the world,2889 but1161 was manifest5319 in1909 these last2078 times5550 for1223 you,5209
|
|
21 你們也因著他，信那叫他從死裏復活、又給他榮耀的神，叫你們的信心和盼望都在於神。
|

|
22 你們既因藉著靈［Spirit］順從真理，潔淨了自己的心，以致愛弟兄沒有虛假，就當以純淨的心［with a pure heart］彼此切實相愛。
|
22 Seeing ye have purified48 your5216 souls5590 in1722 obeying5218 the3588 truth225 through1223 the Spirit4151 unto1519 unfeigned505 love of the brethren,5360 see that ye love25 one another240 with1537 a pure2513 heart2588 fervently: 1619
|
|
23 你們蒙了重生，不是由於能壞的種子，乃是由於不能壞的種子，是藉著神活潑永［for ever］存的道。
|
23 Being born again,313 not3756 of1537 corruptible5349 seed,4701 but235 of incorruptible,862 by1223 the word3056 of God,2316 which liveth2198 and2532 abideth3306 forever.1519 165
|
|
24 因為凡有血氣的，盡都如草；他的美榮都像草上的花。草必枯乾，花必凋謝；
|
24 For1360 all3956 flesh4561 is as5613 grass,5528 and2532 all3956 the glory1391 of man444 as5613 the flower438 of grass.5528 The3588 grass5528 withereth,3583 and2532 the3588 flower438 thereof846 falleth away: 1601

|
25 唯有主的道是永存的。所傳給你們的福音就是這道。
|
25 But1161 the3588 word4487 of the Lord2962 endureth3306 forever.1519165 And1161 this5124 is2076 the3588 word4487 which by the gospel is preached2097 unto1519 you.5209
