創世記

第1章

1 起初，神創造天地。

2 地是空虛混沌，淵面黑暗；神的靈［Spirit］運行在水面上。

3 神說：「要有光」，就有了光。

4 神看光是好的，神［God］就把光從［from］暗分開了。

5 神稱光為「晝」，稱暗為「夜」。有晚上，有早晨，這是第一天。

6 神說：「諸水之間要有穹蒼［firmament］，將諸水從眾水分開［divide the waters from the waters］。」

7 神就造出穹蒼［firmament］，將穹蒼［firmament］以下的水從［from］穹蒼［firmament］以上的水分開了。事就這樣成了。

8 神稱穹蒼［firmament］為「天」。有晚上，有早晨，是第二天。

9 神說：「天下的水要聚在一處，使旱地露出來。」事就這樣成了。

10 神稱旱地為「地」，稱水的聚處為「海」。神看著是好的。

11 神說：「地要長出［bring forth］青草和結種子的菜蔬，並結果子的樹木，各從其類，果子都包著核。」事就這樣成了。

12 於是地長出［brought forth］了青草和結種子的菜蔬，各從其類；並結果子的樹木，各從其類；果子都包著核。神看著是好的。

13 有晚上，有早晨，是第三天。

14 神說：「天上穹蒼中［in the firmament］要有光體，可以將晝從夜分別［divide the day from the night］，作記號，定節令、日子、年歲，

15 並要發光在天上穹蒼中［in the firmament of the heaven］，普照在地上。」事就這樣成了。

16 於是神造了兩個大光，大的管晝，小的管夜，又造眾星，

17 神［God］就把這些光擺列在天上穹蒼中［in the firmament of the heaven］，普照在地上，

18 管理晝夜，將光從暗分別［divide the light from the darkness］；神看著是好的。

19 有晚上，有早晨，是第四天。

20 神說：「水要多多滋生有生命、會動［moving］的造物［creature］，又［and］要有雀鳥，好［that may］飛在地面以上，穹蒼［firmament］之中。」

21 神就創造［created］出大鯨［great whales］和水中所滋生各樣有生命的造物［creature］，各從其類；又創造［created］出各樣飛鳥，各從其類。神看著是好的。

22 神就賜福給這一切，說：「滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。」

23 有晚上，有早晨，是第五天。

24 神說：「地要生出活的造物［creature］來，各從其類；牲畜、爬物［creeping thing］、野獸，各從其類」；事就這樣成了。

25 於是神造出野獸，各從其類；牲畜，各從其類；地上一切昆蟲，各從其類。神看著是好的。

26 神說：「我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人；又［and］使他們管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜，和全地，並地上所爬的一切爬物［creeping thing］。」

27 神就照著自己的形像創造［created］人，乃是照著神［God］的形像創造男女［male and female created］。

28 神就賜福給他們，神［God］又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」

29 神說：「看哪，我將遍地上一切結種子的菜蔬和一切樹上所結有核的果子全賜給你們作食物。

30 至於地上的走獸和空中的飛鳥，並各樣爬在地上有生命的物，我將青草賜給牠們作食物。」事就這樣成了。

31 神看著一切所造的都見［behold］甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六天。

Genesis

Chapter 1

1 GOD created the heavens and the earth in the very beginning.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water.

3 And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

4 And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above the firmament; and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters that are under the sky be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas; and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, wherein is their seed, upon the earth; and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth vegetation, the herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree hearing fruit, wherein is its seed, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

14 Then God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth; and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the smaller light to rule the night; and the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of the heaven.

21 And God created great sea monsters, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply on the earth.

23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.

24 Then God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

25 And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild beasts of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild beasts that move upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree which bears fruit yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food; and it was so.

31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

21 And God created great sea monsters, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

22 神就賜福給這一切，說：「滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。」

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply on the earth.

23 有晚上，有早晨，是第五天。

23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.

24 神說：「地要生出活的造物［creature］來，各從其類；牲畜、爬物［creeping thing］、野獸，各從其類」；事就這樣成了。

24 Then God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind; and it was so.

25 於是神造出野獸，各從其類；牲畜，各從其類；地上一切昆蟲，各從其類。神看著是好的。

25 And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

26 神說：「我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人；又［and］使他們管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜，和全地，並地上所爬的一切爬物［creeping thing］。」

26 Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild beasts of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

27 神就照著自己的形像創造［created］人，乃是照著神［God］的形像創造男女［male and female created］。

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

28 神就賜福給他們，神［God］又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」

28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild beasts that move upon the earth.

29 神說：「看哪，我將遍地上一切結種子的菜蔬和一切樹上所結有核的果子全賜給你們作食物。

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree which bears fruit yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

30 至於地上的走獸和空中的飛鳥，並各樣爬在地上有生命的物，我將青草賜給牠們作食物。」事就這樣成了。

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food; and it was so.

31 神看著一切所造的都見［behold］甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六天。

31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
