Job

Chapter 13

1 Lo, my eye has seen all this, my ear has heard and understood it.

2 What you know, I know also; I am not inferior to you.

3 But I would speak to the Almighty, and with my reproof would I reason with God.

4 But you are forgers of lies; you are all healers of no value.

5 O that you would altogether keep silent! And it would serve you for wisdom.

6 Hear now my admonition, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

7 Will you speak wickedly against God? And talk deceitfully against him?

8 Will you respect his person? Will you contend with him?

9 Is it good for you that he should search you out? Or as you are judged by men, would you be judged by him?

10 He will surely reprove you, if you will show partiality.

11 His excellency shall seek vengeance of you, and his terror will fall upon you.

12 Remember that your power is from the earth, and your dwelling place is of clay.

13 Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak also, and tell everything that has come upon me.

14 Why am I so afflicted, and why is my life exposed to danger?

15 Though he slay me, yet will I look for him; because my ways are before him.

16 He also shall be my Saviour; for a hypocrite shall not come before him.

17 Listen diligently to my speech, and I will relate my declaration in your presence.

18 Behold now, I am also pleading my cause; and I know that I am innocent.

19 Who is he that will contend with me? For now I will keep silent and be at rest.

20 Only two things do not let depart from me; then I will not turn aside from thee:

21 Do not withdraw thy help from me; and let not thy dread terrify me.

22 Then call thou me, and I will answer; or let me speak, and answer thou me.

23 How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgressions and my sins.

24 Wherefore dost thou hide thy face from me, and considerest me as thine enemy?

25 Wilt thou tread upon a fallen leaf? And wilt thou pursue the dry grass in the air?

26 For thou decreest chastisement against me, and makest me remember the iniquities of my youth;

27 Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and watchest all my ways; thou seest the imprints of my feet.

28 Yet a man is like a worn-out waterskin, and a garment that is moth-eaten.

Chapter 13

1 See,2005 my eye5869 has seen7200 all3605 this, my ear241 has heard8085 and understood995 it.

2 What you know,1847 the same do I know3045 also:1571 I am not inferior5307 to you.

3 Surely199 I would speak1696 to the Almighty,7706 and I desire2654 to reason3198 with God.410

4 But you are forgers2950 of lies,8267 you are all3605 physicians7495 of no457 value.457

5 O that you would altogether hold2790 your peace!2790 and it should be your wisdom.2451

6 Hear8085 now4994 my reasoning,8433 and listen7181 to the pleadings7379 of my lips.8193

7 Will you speak1696 wickedly5766 for God?410 and talk1696 deceitfully7423 for him?

8 Will you accept5375 his person?6440 will you contend7378 for God?410

9 Is it good2896 that he should search2713 you out? or as one man582 mocks2048 another, do you so mock2048 him?

10 He will surely reprove3198 you, if518 you do secretly5643 accept5375 persons.6440

11 Shall not his excellency7613 make you afraid?1204 and his dread6343 fall5307 on you?

12 Your remembrances2146 are like4911 to ashes,665 your bodies1354 to bodies1354 of clay.2563

13 Hold2790 your peace,2790 let me alone, that I may speak,1696 and let come5674 on me what4100 will.

14 Why5921 4100 do I take5375 my flesh1320 in my teeth,8127 and put7760 my life5315 in my hand?3709

15 Though he slay6991 me, yet will I trust3176 in him: but I will maintain3198 my own ways1870 before413 6440 him.

16 He also1571 shall be my salvation:3444 for an hypocrite2611 shall not come935 before6440 him.

17 Hear8085 diligently my speech,4405 and my declaration262 with your ears.241

18 Behold2009 now,4994 I have ordered6186 my cause;4941 I know3045 that I shall be justified.6663

19 Who4310 is he that will plead7378 with me? for now,6258 if3588 I hold2790 my tongue,2790 I shall give1478 up the ghost.1478

20 Only389 do6213 not two8147 things to me: then227 will I not hide5641 myself from you.

21 Withdraw7368 your hand3709 far7350 from me: and let not your dread367 make me afraid.1204

22 Then call7121 you, and I will answer:6030 or176 let me speak,1696 and answer7725 you me.

23 How4100 many are my iniquities5771 and sins?2403 make me to know3045 my transgression6588 and my sin.2403

24 Why4100 hide5641 you your face,6440 and hold2803 me for your enemy?341

25 Will you break6206 a leaf5929 driven5086 to and fro? and will you pursue7291 the dry3002 stubble?7179

26 For you write3789 bitter4846 things against5921 me, and make me to possess3423 the iniquities5771 of my youth.5271

27 You put7760 my feet7272 also in the stocks,5465 and look8104 narrowly8104 to all3605 my paths;734 you set a print2707 on the heels8328 of my feet.7272

28 And he, as a rotten7538 thing, consumes,1086 as a garment899 that is moth6211 eaten.398
