Chapter 21

1 AFTER these things, Jesus showed himself again to his disciples by the sea of Tiberias; and he appeared in this way:

2 They were all together, Simon Peter, and Thomas who is called the Twin, and Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of the disciples.

3 Simon Peter said to them, I am going to catch fish. They said to him, We also will come with you. So they went out and went up into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.

4 When morning came, Jesus stood by the sea side; and the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5 So Jesus said to them, Boys, have you got anything to eat? They said to him, No.

6 He said to them, Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find. So they threw it, and they were not able to draw the net, because of the many fishes which it had caught.

7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, That is our Lord. When Simon heard that it was our Lord, he took his cloak and girded it around his waist, because he was naked; and he jumped into the sea to come to Jesus.

8 But the other disciples came by boat; for they were not very far from land, but about a hundred yards, and they were dragging the net of fishes.

9 When they landed, they saw burning coals set, and a fish laid on them, and bread.

10 Jesus said to them, Bring some of the fish which you have now caught.

11 So Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of large fishes, one hundred and fifty-three; and in spite of this weight, the net did not break.

12 Jesus said to them, Come, break your fast. But not one of the disciples dared to ask him who he was, for they knew he was our Lord.

13 Then Jesus drew near, and took bread and fish, and gave to them.

14 This is the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples, since he rose up from the dead.

15 When they had broken their fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these things? He said to him, Yes, my Lord; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my male lambs.

16 He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, my Lord; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

17 He said to him again the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? It grieved Peter because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? So he said to him, My Lord, you understand well everything, you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my female lambs.

18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to tie up your girdle yourself, and walk wherever you pleased; but when you become old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will tie up for you your girdle, and take you where you do not wish.

19 He said this, to show by what death he would glorify God. And when he had said these things, he said to him, Follow me.

20 Simon Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following him, the one who leaned on the breast of Jesus at the supper, and said, My Lord, who will betray you?

21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, My Lord, what about him?

22 Jesus said to him, If I wish him to remain until I come, what difference does that make to you? You follow me.

23 This word then went out among the brethren, that that disciple would not die. But what Jesus said was not that he would not die; but, If I wish that he should remain until I come back, what difference does that make to you?

24 This is the disciple who testified concerning all of these things, and who also wrote them; and we know that his testimony is true.

25 There are also a great many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, not even this world, I believe, could contain the en_lbp_books that would be written.

1 Позже Иса опять явился Своим ученикам. Это было у Тивериадского озера. Произошло всё так:

2 Шимон Петир, Фома, называемый Близнец, Нафанаил из Каны Галилейской, сыновья Завдая и два других ученика собрались вместе.

3 – Я пойду ловить рыбу, – сказал Шимон Петир. – Мы тоже пойдём с тобой, – решили они. Они отплыли на лодке, но в ту ночь ничего не поймали.

4 Рано утром Иса стоял на берегу, но ученики не узнали Его.

5 Он позвал их: – Молодые люди, ну как, есть у вас рыба? – Нет, – ответили они.

6 Он сказал: – Забросьте сеть с правого борта, и поймаете. Они забросили и поймали столько рыбы, что не могли вытащить сеть.

7 Ученик, которого любил Иса, сказал тогда Петиру: – Это Повелитель! Как только Петир услышал, что это Повелитель, он обвязался верхней одеждой, так как был раздет, и прыгнул в воду.

8 Другие ученики поплыли за ним на лодке, подтягивая сеть, полную рыбы. Они были на расстоянии девяноста метров от берега.

9 Когда они вышли на берег, то увидели горящие угли, на которых пеклась рыба, и рядом лежали лепёшки.

10 Иса сказал им: – Принесите несколько рыб из тех, что вы сейчас поймали.

11 Шимон Петир зашёл в лодку и вытащил сеть на берег. В ней было сто пятьдесят три большие рыбы, однако сеть не порвалась!

12 Иса сказал им: – Идите сюда и позавтракайте. Никто из учеников не осмеливался спросить Его: «Кто Ты?» Они знали, что это Повелитель.

13 Иса подошёл, взял лепёшки и дал им, а также и рыбу.

14 Это уже в третий раз Иса пришёл к Своим ученикам после того, как Он воскрес из мёртвых.

15 Когда они закончили есть, Иса сказал Шимону Петиру: – Шимон, сын Ионы, . ты действительно любишь Меня больше, чем они?– Да, Повелитель, – ответил тот, – Ты знаешь, что я люблю Тебя. Иса сказал: – Тогда паси Моих ягнят. .

16 И во второй раз Иса спросил его: – Шимон, сын Ионы, любишь ли ты Меня?Петир ответил: – Да, Повелитель, Ты знаешь, что я люблю Тебя. Иса сказал: – Заботься о Моих овцах.

17 Потом Иса в третий раз спросил Петира: – Шимон, сын Ионы, ты любишь Меня? Петир опечалился, что Иса спросил его в третий раз: «Любишь ли ты Меня?» – и ответил: – Повелитель, Ты знаешь всё, Ты знаешь, что я люблю Тебя. Иса сказал ему: – Паси Моих овец.

18 Говорю тебе истину: когда ты был молод, ты сам подпоясывался и шёл, куда хотел; но когда ты состаришься, то протянешь руки, и другой подпояшет тебя и поведёт туда, куда ты не захочешь.

19 Иса сказал это, имея в виду, какой смертью Петир прославит Всевышнего. Потом Он сказал ему: – Следуй за Мной!

20 Петир обернулся и увидел ученика, которого Иса любил, тот тоже шёл за ними. Это был тот самый ученик, который на ужине откинулся назад к Исе и спросил: «Повелитель, кто предаст Тебя?»

21 Когда Петир его увидел, он спросил Ису: – Повелитель, а с ним как будет?

22 Иса ответил: – Если даже Я захочу, чтобы он был жив, пока Я не приду, то что тебе до этого? Ты следуй за Мной.

23 После этих слов среди братьев распространился слух, что этот ученик не умрёт, но Иса не сказал, что он не умрёт; Он сказал лишь: «Если даже Я захочу, чтобы он был жив, пока Я не приду, то что тебе до этого?»

24 Он и есть тот ученик, который свидетельствует об этом и который это записал. И мы знаем, что это свидетельство истинно.

25 Иса сделал ещё и многое другое, и если бы всё это описать, то, я думаю, и всему миру не вместить написанных книг.

21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, My Lord, what about him?

22 Jesus said to him, If I wish him to remain until I come, what difference does that make to you? You follow me.

22 Иса ответил: – Если даже Я захочу, чтобы он был жив, пока Я не приду, то что тебе до этого? Ты следуй за Мной.

23 This word then went out among the brethren, that that disciple would not die. But what Jesus said was not that he would not die; but, If I wish that he should remain until I come back, what difference does that make to you?

23 После этих слов среди братьев распространился слух, что этот ученик не умрёт, но Иса не сказал, что он не умрёт; Он сказал лишь: «Если даже Я захочу, чтобы он был жив, пока Я не приду, то что тебе до этого?»

24 This is the disciple who testified concerning all of these things, and who also wrote them; and we know that his testimony is true.

24 Он и есть тот ученик, который свидетельствует об этом и который это записал. И мы знаем, что это свидетельство истинно.
