|
1 以色列人在受詛的［accursed］物上犯了罪；因為猶大支派中，謝拉的曾孫，撒底的孫子，迦米的兒子亞干取了受詛的［accursed］物；耶和華的怒氣就向以色列人發作。
|
1 But the children1121 of Israel3478 committed4603 a trespass4604 in the accursed thing:2764 for Achan,5912 the son1121 of Carmi,3756 the son1121 of Zabdi,2067 the son1121 of Zerah,2226 of the tribe4294 of Judah,3063 took3947 of4480 the accursed thing:2764 and the anger639 of the LORD3068 was kindled2734 against the children1121 of Israel.3478

2 當下，約書亞從耶利哥打發人往伯．特利東邊、靠近伯．亞文的艾城去，告訴［spake unto］他們說：「你們上去窺探那地。」他們就上去窺探艾城。
|
2 And Joshua3091 sent7971 men376 from Jericho4480 3405 to Ai,5857 which834 is beside5973 Beth-aven,1007 on the east side4480 6924 of Bethel,1008 and spoke559 unto413 them, saying,559 Go up5927 and view7270 853 the country.776 And the men376 went up5927 and viewed7270 853 Ai.5857

3 他們回到約書亞那裏，對他說：「眾民不必都上去，只要二三千人上去就能攻取艾城；不必勞累眾民都去，因為那裏的人少。」

3 And they returned7725 to413 Joshua,3091 and said559 unto413 him, Let not408 all3605 the people5971 go up;5927 but let about two505 or176 three7969 thousand505 men376 go up5927 and smite5221 853 Ai;5857 and make not408 853 all3605 the people5971 to labor3021 thither;8033 for3588 they1992 are but few.4592

4 於是民中約有三千人上那裏去，竟在艾城人面前逃跑了。
|
4 So there went up5927 thither8033 of4480 the people5971 about three7969 thousand505 men:376 and they fled5127 before6440 the men376 of Ai.5857
|
|
5 艾城的人擊殺了他們三十六人，從城門前追趕他們，直到示巴琳，在下坡殺敗他們；眾民的心就融化［melted］如水。
|
5 And the men376 of Ai5857 smote5221 of4480 them about thirty7970 and six8337 men:376 for they chased7291 them from before6440 the gate8179 even unto5704 Shebarim,7671 and smote5221 them in the going down:4174 wherefore the hearts3824 of the people5971 melted,4549 and became1961 as water.4325

6 約書亞便撕裂衣服，他和以色列的長老把灰撒在頭上，在耶和華的約櫃前臉［face］伏在地，直到晚上。
|
6 And Joshua3091 rent7167 his clothes,8071 and fell5307 to the earth776 upon5921 his face6440 before6440 the ark727 of the LORD3068 until5704 the eventide,6153 he1931 and the elders2205 of Israel,3478 and put5927 dust6083 upon5921 their heads.7218

7 約書亞說：「哀哉。主耶和華啊，你為甚麼竟領這百姓過約旦河，將我們交在亞摩利人的手中，使我們滅亡呢？情願神使我們［would to God we］住在約旦河那邊倒好。
|
7 And Joshua3091 said,559 Alas,162 O Lord136 GOD,3069 wherefore4100 hast thou at all brought5674 5674 853 this2088 people5971 over5674 853 Jordan,3383 to deliver5414 us into the hand3027 of the Amorites,567 to destroy6 us? would to God3863 we had been content,2974 and dwelt3427 on the other side5676 Jordan!3383

8 主啊，以色列［Israel］既在仇敵面前轉背逃跑，我還有甚麼可說的呢。
|
8 O994 Lord,136 what4100 shall I say,559 when310 834 Israel3478 turneth2015 their backs6203 before6440 their enemies!341
|
|
9 迦南人和這地一切的居民聽見了就必圍困我們，將我們的名從地上除滅。那時你為你的大名要怎樣行呢？」
|
9 For the Canaanites3669 and all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the land776 shall hear8085 of it, and shall environ us round,5437 5921 and cut off3772 853 our name8034 from4480 the earth:776 and what4100 wilt thou do6213 unto thy great1419 name?8034

|
10 耶和華對［said unto］約書亞說：「起來；你為何這樣臉［face］伏在地呢？
|
10 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Joshua,3091 Get thee up;6965 wherefore4100 liest5307 thou859 thus2088 upon5921 thy face?6440
|
|
11 以色列［Israel］犯了罪，違背了我所吩咐他們的約，取了受詛的［accursed］物；又偷竊，又行詭詐，又把那受詛的［accursed］放在他們的家具裏。
|
11 Israel3478 hath sinned,2398 and they have also1571 transgressed5674 853 my covenant1285 which834 I commanded6680 them: for they have even1571 taken3947 of4480 the accursed thing,2764 and have also1571 stolen,1589 and dissembled3584 also,1571 and they have put7760 it even1571 among their own stuff.3627

12 因此，以色列人在仇敵面前站立不住。他們在仇敵面前轉背逃跑，是因成了被咒詛的；你們若不把受詛的［accursed］物從你們中間除掉，我就不再與你們同在了。
|
12 Therefore the children1121 of Israel3478 could3201 not3808 stand6965 before6440 their enemies,341 but turned6437 their backs6203 before6440 their enemies,341 because3588 they were1961 accursed:2764 neither3808 will I be1961 with5973 you any more,3254 except518 3808 ye destroy8045 the accursed2764 from among4480 7130 you.

13 你起來，叫百姓自潔，對他們說：『你們要自潔，預備明天，因為耶和華─以色列的神這樣說：以色列啊，你們中間有受詛的［accursed］物，你們若不除掉，在仇敵面前必站立不住。』
|
13 Up,6965 sanctify6942 853 the people,5971 and say,559 Sanctify yourselves6942 against tomorrow:4279 for3588 thus3541 saith559 the Lord3068 God430 of Israel.3478 There is an accursed thing2764 in the midst7130 of thee, O Israel:3478 thou canst3201 not3808 stand6965 before6440 thine enemies,341 until5704 ye take away5493 the accursed thing2764 from among4480 7130 you.

14 到了早晨，你們要按著支派近前來；耶和華所取的支派，要按著宗族近前來；耶和華所取的宗族，要按著家室近前來；耶和華所取的家室，要按著人丁，一個一個的近前來。
|
14 In the morning1242 therefore ye shall be brought7126 according to your tribes:7626 and it shall be,1961 that the tribe7626 which834 the LORD3068 taketh3920 shall come7126 according to the families4940 thereof; and the family4940 which834 the LORD3068 shall take3920 shall come7126 by households;1004 and the household1004 which834 the LORD3068 shall take3920 shall come7126 man by man.1397

15 被取的人有受詛的［accursed］物在他那裏，他和他所有的必被火焚燒；因他違背了耶和華的約，又因他在以色列中行了愚妄的事。」
|
15 And it shall be,1961 that he that is taken3920 with the accursed thing2764 shall be burnt8313 with fire,784 he and all3605 that834 he hath: because3588 he hath transgressed5674 853 the covenant1285 of the LORD,3068 and because3588 he hath wrought6213 folly5039 in Israel.3478

16 於是，約書亞清早起來，使以色列［Israel］按著支派近前來；取出來的是猶大支派。
|
16 So Joshua3091 rose up early7925 in the morning,1242 and brought7126 853 Israel3478 by their tribes;7626 and the tribe7626 of Judah3063 was taken: 3920
|
|
17 使猶大宗族［family］近前來，就取了謝拉的宗族；使謝拉的宗族，按著家室人丁，一個一個的近前來，取出來的是撒底；
|
17 And he brought7126 853 the family4940 of Judah;3063 and he took3920 853 the family4940 of the Zarhites:2227 and he brought7126 853 the family4940 of the Zarhites2227 man by man;1397 and Zabdi2067 was taken: 3920
|
|
18 使撒底的家室，按著人丁，一個一個的近前來，就取出猶大支派的人謝拉的曾孫，撒底的孫子，迦米的兒子亞干。
|
18 And he brought7126 853 his household1004 man by man;1397 and Achan,5912 the son1121 of Carmi,3756 the son1121 of Zabdi,2067 the son1121 of Zerah,2226 of the tribe4294 of Judah,3063 was taken.3920
|
|
19 約書亞對亞干說：「我兒，我勸你將榮耀歸給耶和華─以色列的神，在他面前認罪，將你所作的事告訴我，不要向我隱瞞。」
|
19 And Joshua3091 said559 unto413 Achan,5912 My son,1121 give,7760 I pray thee,4994 glory3519 to the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 and make5414 confession8426 unto him; and tell5046 me now4994 what4100 thou hast done;6213 hide3582 it not408 from4480 me.

20 亞干回答約書亞說：「我實在得罪了耶和華─以色列的神。我所作的事如此如此：
|
20 And Achan5912 answered6030 853 Joshua,3091 and said,559 Indeed546 I595 have sinned2398 against the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 and thus2063 and thus2063 have I done: 6213
|
|
21 我在所奪的財物中看見一件美好的巴比倫［Babylonish］衣服，二百舍客勒銀子，一條金子重五十舍客勒，我就貪愛這些物件，便拿去了；現今正［behold］藏在我帳棚內的地裏，銀子在底下［under it］。」
|
21 When I saw7200 among the spoils7998 a259 goodly2896 Babylonish8152 garment,155 and two hundred3967 shekels8255 of silver,3701 and a259 wedge3956 of gold2091 of fifty2572 shekels8255 weight,4948 then I coveted2530 them, and took3947 them; and, behold,2009 they are hid2934 in the earth776 in the midst8432 of my tent,168 and the silver3701 under8478 it.

22 約書亞就打發人跑到亞干的帳棚裏。那件衣服果然藏在他帳棚內，銀子在底下。
|
22 So Joshua3091 sent7971 messengers,4397 and they ran7323 unto the tent;168 and, behold,2009 it was hid2934 in his tent,168 and the silver3701 under8478 it.
|
|
23 他們就從帳棚裏取出來，拿到約書亞和以色列眾人那裏，放在耶和華面前。
|
23 And they took3947 them out of the midst4480 8432 of the tent,168 and brought935 them unto413 Joshua,3091 and unto413 all3605 the children1121 of Israel,3478 and laid them out3332 before6440 the LORD.3068
|
|
24 約書亞和以色列眾人把謝拉的曾孫亞干和那銀子、那件衣服、那條金子，並亞干的兒女、牛、驢、羊、帳棚，以及他所有的，都帶到亞割谷去。
|
24 And Joshua,3091 and all3605 Israel3478 with5973 him, took3947 853 Achan5912 the son1121 of Zerah,2226 and the silver,3701 and the garment,155 and the wedge3956 of gold,2091 and his sons,1121 and his daughters,1323 and his oxen,7794 and his asses,2543 and his sheep,6629 and his tent,168 and all3605 that834 he had: and they brought5927 them unto the valley6010 of Achor.5911

25 約書亞說：「你為甚麼連累我們呢？今日耶和華必叫你受連累。」於是以色列眾人用石頭打死他，將石頭扔在其上，又用火焚燒他們［them］。
|
25 And Joshua3091 said,559 Why4100 hast thou troubled5916 us? the LORD3068 shall trouble5916 thee this2088 day.3117 And all3605 Israel3478 stoned5619 him with stones,68 and burned8313 them with fire,784 after they had stoned7275 them with stones.68
|
|
26 眾人在亞干身上堆成一大堆石頭，直存到今日。於是耶和華轉意，不發他的烈怒。因此那地方名叫亞割谷，直到今日。
|
26 And they raised6965 over5921 him a great1419 heap1530 of stones68 unto5704 this2088 day.3117 So the LORD3068 turned7725 from the fierceness4480 2740 of his anger.639 Wherefore5921 3651 the name8034 of that1931 place4725 was called,7121 The valley6010 of Achor,5911 unto5704 this2088 day.3117
