1 Then answered6030 Zophar6691 the Naamathite,5284 and said,559

2 Should not the multitude7230 of words1697 be answered?6030 and should a man376 full of talk8193 be justified?6663

3 Should your lies907 make men4962 hold2790 their peace?2790 and when you mock,3932 shall no369 man make you ashamed?3637

4 For you have said,559 My doctrine3948 is pure,2134 and I am clean1249 in your eyes.5869

5 But oh that God433 would speak,1696 and open6605 his lips8193 against5973 you;

6 And that he would show5046 you the secrets8587 of wisdom,2451 that they are double3718 to that which is! Know3045 therefore that God433 exacts5382 of you less than your iniquity5771 deserves.

11 For he knows3045 vain7723 men:4962 he sees7200 wickedness205 also; will he not then consider995 it?

13 If518 you prepare3559 your heart,3820 and stretch6566 out your hands3709 toward413 him;

14 If518 iniquity205 be in your hand,3027 put it far7350 away, and let not wickedness5766 dwell7931 in your tabernacles.168

15 For then227 shall you lift5375 up your face6440 without spot;3971 yes, you shall be steadfast,3332 and shall not fear:3372

16 Because3588 you shall forget7911 your misery,5999 and remember2142 it as waters4325 that pass5674 away:

17 And your age2465 shall be clearer6965 than the noonday:6672 you shall shine5774 forth, you shall be as the morning.1242

18 And you shall be secure,982 because3588 there is hope;8615 yes, you shall dig2658 about5439 you, and you shall take7901 your rest7901 in safety.983

3 爾而誇詡、焉得不辯、爾而姍笑、在所當責。

4 爾自謂道清體潔、主不能摘其疵。

5 我願上帝與爾辯論、

6 使爾知其智慧、不可窺測、較爾所知者、倍蓰無算、因悟上帝罰爾、不足以蔽其辜。

7 上帝非可忖度、全能之主、豈得盡知。

8 大哉上帝之智乎、雖上窮碧落、下及黃泉、周行陸地、徧歷滄海、亦終莫之能測。

9 併於上節

10 如上帝孰人而禁之、當衆而鞫之、孰能禦焉。

11 上帝灼知虛妄、明察惡人、其外若置諸罔見而實則無所不知也。

12 斯世之人、冥頑不靈、空空如也、自其誕生、已若野驢之子。

13 爾如洗心、祈禱上帝、

14 改諸不善、不與惡人居、

15 則仰無愧、屹立不懼、

16 患難可忘、同於逝水、

17 爾在世必愈於日之方中、今卽幽暗、終必光如平旦。

18 後福堪期、雖恥於今日、必樂於他年。

19 爾可安寢、警爾者寡、諛爾者衆、

20 維彼惡人、其目必盲、逋逃無藪、彼之失望、與氣之垂盡無異也。
