3 His substance4735 also was seven7651 thousand505 sheep,6629 and three7969 thousand505 camels,1581 and five2568 hundred3967 yoke6776 of oxen,1241 and five2568 hundred3967 she asses,860 and a very3966 great7227 household;5657 so that this1931 man376 was the greatest1419 of all3605 the men1121 of the east.6924

4 And his sons1121 went1980 and feasted6213 4960 in their houses,1004 every376 one376 his day;3117 and sent7971 and called7121 for their three7969 sisters269 to eat398 and to drink8354 with them.

5 And it was so, when3588 the days3117 of their feasting4960 were gone5362 about,5362 that Job347 sent7971 and sanctified6942 them, and rose7925 up early7925 in the morning,1242 and offered5927 burnt5930 offerings according to the number4557 of them all:3605 for Job347 said,559 It may194 be that my sons1121 have sinned,2398 and cursed1288 God430 in their hearts.3824 Thus3602 did6213 Job347 continually.3605 3117

5 Und wenn ein Tag3117 des Wohllebens4960 um5362 war, sandte7971 Hiob347 hin und heiligte6942 sie559; und machte6213 sich7925 des Morgens1242 frühe auf5927 und opferte Brandopfer5930 nach ihrer aller Zahl4557. Denn Hiob347 gedachte: Meine Söhne1121 möchten194 gesündiget und GOtt430 gesegnet1288 haben2398 in ihrem Herzen3824. Also tat Hiob347 alle Tage3117.

6 Now there was a day3117 when the sons1121 of God430 came935 to present3320 themselves before5921 the LORD,3068 and Satan7854 came935 also1571 among8432 them.

6 Es begab sich3320 aber auf einen Tag3117, da die Kinder1121 Gottes430 kamen935 und vor den HErrn3068 traten, kam935 der Satan7854 auch unter8432 ihnen.

7 And the LORD3068 said559 to Satan,7854 From where370 come935 you? Then Satan7854 answered6030 the LORD,3068 and said,559 From going7751 to and fro7751 in the earth,776 and from walking1980 up and down in it.

7 Der HErr3068 aber sprach559 zu1980 dem Satan7854: Wo370 kommst du her935? Satan7854 antwortete6030 dem HErrn3068 und sprach559: Ich habe das Land776 umher7751 durchzogen.

8 And the LORD3068 said559 to Satan,7854 Have you considered7760 3820 my servant5650 Job,347 that there is none369 like3644 him in the earth,776 a perfect8535 and an upright3477 man,376 one that fears3373 God,430 and eschews5493 evil?7451

8 Der HErr3068 sprach559 zu Satan7854: Hast du nicht5493 achtgehabt3820 auf meinen Knecht5650 Hiob347? Denn es ist7760 seinesgleichen nicht im Lande, schlecht3477 und376 recht8535, gottesfürchtig3373 und430 meidet das776 Böse7451.

9 Then Satan7854 answered6030 the LORD,3068 and said,559 Does Job347 fear3372 God430 for nothing?2600

9 Satan7854 antwortete6030 dem HErrn3068 und sprach559: Meinest du, daß Hiob347 umsonst2600 GOtt430 fürchtet3372?

10 Have not you made an hedge7753 about1157 him, and about1157 his house,1004 and about1157 all3605 that he has on every5437 side?5439 you have blessed1288 the work4639 of his hands,3027 and his substance4735 is increased6555 in the land.776

10 Hast du doch ihn, sein1157 Haus1004 und alles, was er hat, rings umher5439 verwahret. Du hast das4639 Werk seiner Hände3027 gesegnet1288, und sein Gut4735 hat sich ausgebreitet6555 im Lande776.

11 But put7971 forth7971 your hand3027 now,4994 and touch5060 all3605 that he has, and he will curse1288 you to your face.6440

11 Aber199 recke deine Hand3027 aus und taste an alles, was er hat5060; was gilt‘s, er wird7971 dich ins Angesicht6440 segnen1288?

12 And the LORD3068 said559 to Satan,7854 Behold,2009 all3605 that he has is in your power;3027 only7535 on himself put7971 not forth7971 your hand.3027 So Satan7854 went3318 forth3318 from the presence6440 of the LORD.3068

12 Der HErr3068 sprach559 zu Satan7854: Siehe, alles, was er hat, sei in6440 deiner Hand3027; ohne allein an ihn selbst lege7971 deine Hand3027 nicht. Da ging Satan7854 aus3318 von dem HErrn3068.

13 And there was a day3117 when his sons1121 and his daughters1323 were eating398 and drinking8354 wine3196 in their oldest1060 brother's251 house:1004

13 Des Tages3117 aber, da seine Söhne1121 und Töchter1323 aßen398 und tranken8354 Wein3196 in ihres Bruders251 Hause1004, des Erstgeborenen1060,

14 And there came935 a messenger4397 to Job,347 and said,559 The oxen1241 were plowing,2790 and the asses860 feeding7462 beside5921 3027 them:

14 kam ein Bote4397 zu Hiob347 und sprach559: Die Rinder1241 pflügeten, und die Eselinnen860 gingen935 neben ihnen an3027 der Weide7462;

15 And the Sabeans7614 fell5307 on them, and took3947 them away; yes, they have slain5221 the servants5288 with the edge6310 of the sword;2719 and I only7535 am escaped4422 alone905 to tell5046 you.

15 da fielen5307 die aus Reicharabien7614 herein und nahmen3947 sie und schlugen5221 die Knaben5288 mit der Schärfe6310 des Schwerts2719; und ich bin allein entronnen4422, daß ich dir‘s ansagte5046.

16 While he was yet speaking,1696 there came935 also another,2088 and said,559 The fire784 of God430 is fallen5307 from heaven,8064 and has burned1197 up the sheep,6629 and the servants,5288 and consumed398 them; and I only7535 am escaped4422 alone905 to tell5046 you.

16 Da der noch redete1696, kam935 ein anderer und sprach559: Das Feuer784 Gottes430 fiel5307 vom Himmel8064 und verbrannte1197 Schafe6629 und Knaben5288 und verzehrete sie; und ich bin allein entronnen4422, daß ich dir‘s ansagte5046.

17 While he was yet speaking,1696 there came935 also another,2088 and said,559 The Chaldeans3778 made7760 out three7969 bands,7218 and fell6584 on the camels,1581 and have carried3947 them away, yes, and slain5221 the servants5288 with the edge6310 of the sword;2719 and I only7535 am escaped4422 alone905 to tell5046 you.

17 Da der noch redete1696, kam935 einer und7760 sprach559: Die Chaldäer3778 machten drei7969 Spitzen7218 und überfielen6584 die Kamele1581 und nahmen3947 sie und schlugen5221 die Knaben5288 mit der Schärfe6310 des Schwerts2719; und ich bin allein entronnen4422, daß ich dir‘s ansagte5046.

18 While he was yet speaking,1696 there came935 also another,2088 and said,559 Your sons1121 and your daughters1323 were eating398 and drinking8354 wine3196 in their oldest1060 brother's251 house:1004

18 Da der noch redete1696, kam935 einer und sprach559: Deine Söhne1121 und Töchter1323 aßen398 und tranken8354 im Hause1004 ihres Bruders251, des Erstgebornen;

19 And, behold,2009 there came935 a great1419 wind7307 from the wilderness,4057 and smote5060 the four702 corners6438 of the house,1004 and it fell5307 on the young5288 men, and they are dead;4191 and I only7535 am escaped4422 alone905 to tell5046 you.

19 und siehe, da kam935 ein großer1419 Wind7307 von der Wüste4057 her5676 und stieß5060 auf die vier702 Ecken6438 des Hauses1004 und warf‘s5307 auf die Knaben5288, daß sie starben4191; und ich bin allein entronnen4422, daß ich dir‘s ansagte5046.

20 Then Job347 arose,6965 and rent7167 his mantle,4598 and shaved1494 his head,7218 and fell5307 down on the ground,776 and worshipped,7812

20 Da stund Hiob347 auf6965 und zerriß7167 sein4598 Kleid und raufte1494 sein Haupt7218; und fiel5307 auf die Erde776 und betete7812 an

21 And said,559 Naked6174 came3318 I out of my mother's517 womb,990 and naked6174 shall I return7725 thither:8033 the LORD3068 gave,5414 and the LORD3068 has taken3947 away; blessed1288 be the name8034 of the LORD.3068

21 und sprach559: Ich bin nackend von meiner Mutter517 Leibe990 kommen3318, nackend werde ich wieder7725 dahinfahren. Der HErr3068 hat‘s3947 gegeben5414, der HErr3068 hat‘s genommen; der Name8034 des HErrn3068 sei1288 gelobt!

22 In all3605 this2063 Job347 sinned2398 not, nor3808 charged5414 God430 foolishly.8604

22 In diesem allem sündigte Hiob347 nicht und5414 tat2398 nichts Törichtes8604 wider GOtt430.
