1 先知以利沙呼先知衆徒之一、曰、爾當束帶、取膏一盒、往基列之喇末、

2 旣至、可問寧示孫、約沙法子耶戶、使離其衆昆弟、入於寢室、

3 以膏一盒、傾於其首、曰、耶和華云、我沃爾以膏、使爲以色列王、遂起門遽遁、毋少延、

4 爲先知者、年尚少、詣基列之喇末、

5 旣至、見武士之長皆坐、曰、長者、我有事相告、耶戶曰、欲告何人、曰、長者、爾即是也、

6 耶戶起而入室、先知傾膏於首、曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、我以膏沃爾、使治我民、爲以色列王、

7 爾必滅爾主亞哈之家、昔耶洗別殺我先知衆僕、故行殲滅、以雪其忿、

8 亞哈全家、必淪胥以亡、在以色列族中、我必絕其所有、或僕或主、不遣一男、

9 使亞哈全家、與尼八子耶羅破暗家、亞希雅子巴沙家、無異、

10 在耶斯烈田、耶洗別必爲犬所噬、無人埋瘞、先知言竟、啟門而遁、

11 耶戶出、見王之羣臣、其一間曰、安乎、彼心狂者、見爾何爲、曰、爾識其人、知其所言、

12 曰、不知、請以告我、曰、彼傳耶和華之命云、我以膏沃爾、使爲以色列王、

13 衆各取衣、立佈於階、使耶戶坐、吹角曰、耶戶爲王、

14 初

15 約藍率以色列族衆、守基列之喇末、攻亞蘭王哈泄、約藍被傷、則歸耶斯烈、而療其疾、寧示孫約沙法子耶戶叛約藍、告從者曰、若愜爾意、毋許人出、以洩此事、爲耶斯烈人所知、

16 約藍居於耶斯烈、猶大王亞哈謝來會、耶戶乘車以至、

17 有戍卒立於耶斯烈臺、遙見耶戶之軍將至、曰、我見一軍、約藍曰、當遣騎者往迓之、問其爲平康而至乎、

18 騎者往迓之、曰、王使問爾、爲平康而至否、耶戶曰、是平康與否、何涉爾事、當從我後、戍卒告曰、使者至彼、不見反命、

19 再遣騎者、至則曰、王使問爾、爲平康而至乎、耶戶曰、是平康與否、何涉爾事、當從我後、

20 戍卒又告王曰、使者至彼、惟不反命、來者御車甚猛、有若寧示之孫耶戶、

21 約藍曰、備車、遂備車、以色列王約藍、猶大王亞哈謝、各乘車而出、至耶斯烈人拿泊之田、而遇耶戶、

22 約藍見耶戶、則曰、耶戶、爾爲平康而至乎、曰、王母耶洗別、狥私慾、拜偶像、從巫覡、若是之多、焉得平康乎、

23 約藍告亞哈謝曰、亞哈謝歟、彼懷不軌、遂旋轅而遁、

24 耶戶挽弓力射、中約藍於二臂間、矢洞其心而出、仆於車中、

25 耶戶告其軍長畢甲曰、取尸投於耶斯烈人拿泊之田、爾可憶、疇昔爾我同乘、從其父亞哈後、耶和華以預言、告之曰、

26 我曾見拿泊及其子之血、必於是田報之、故爾當取尸、投諸田、循耶和華命、

27 猶大王亞哈謝見此、則由離宮之道而遁、耶戶追襲其後、曰、當襲之於車中、旣至附以伯蓮之姑耳岡、擊之至傷、王遁至米吉多而薨、

28 僕載尸於車、至耶路撒冷葬於大闢之城、與祖同墓、

29 按亞哈謝卽位之日、乃亞哈子約藍之十一年也、

30 耶戶至耶斯烈、耶洗別聞之、則櫛髮修容、自牅而窺、

31 耶戶入宮門時、耶洗別曰、昔心哩弒厥王、豈得平康乎、

32 耶戶仰觀牅間、曰、誰肯助我、二三宦豎、自牅而窺、

33 耶戶曰、可擲此婦、使殞於下、遂擲之、血濺於牆、及於馬、耶戶蹴以足、

34 遂入宮中、式飲式食、旣畢、則謂左右曰、是婦雖服咒詛、然爲王女、當往觀而瘞其尸、

35 往欲葬之、僅得其頭顱、及手足之掌而已、

36 左右反告、耶戶曰、昔耶和華命的庇人以利亞云、在耶烈斯田、耶洗別必爲犬所噬、

37 其尸必化糞壤、於耶斯烈田、後人不得指之而言、是乃耶洗別尸是言應矣、

2 Kings

Chapter 9

1 THEN Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, Gird up your loins and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramath-gilead;

2 And when you get there, look for Jehu the son of Jimshi, and go in and make him arise up from among his brethren, and bring him into an inner chamber;

3 Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head, and say to him, Thus says the LORD, I have anointed you king over my people Israel. Then open the door and flee, and do not tarry.

4 So the young prophet went to Ramath-gilead.

5 And when he came in, behold, the commanders of the army were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to you, O commander. And Jehu said, To which of us? And he said to him, To you, O commander.

6 And he arose and went into an inner chamber; and he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

7 And you shall smite the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

8 For I will destroy the whole house of Ahab, and I will cut off from Ahab every male and every one in authority in Israel;

9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah;

10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the inheritance of Naboth in Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door and fled.

11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord; and they said to him, Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you? And he said to them, You know the man, and his folly.

12 And they said to him, You are lying; tell us now. And he said to them, Thus and thus he spoke to me, saying, Thus says the LORD: I have anointed you king over Israel.

13 Then they hastened and took every man his garment and put it under him on the top of the stairs and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

14 So Jehu the son of Jimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was holding Ramath-gilead, he and all Israel with him because of Hazael king of Aram.

15 But King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him when he fought against Hazael king of Aram.) And Jehu said, If it please you, let no one go forth nor escape out of the city to tell it in Jezreel.

16 So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram the son of Ahab who was sick in Jezreel.

17 And the watchman was standing on the tower of Jezreel, and he saw the chariot of Jehu as it was coming, and the watchman said, I see chariots. And Joram said, Take a chariot and send it to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

18 So there went a horseman to meet him and said to him, Thus says the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said. What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he did not return.

19 Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said. Thus says the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me.

20 And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Jimshi; for he drives furiously.

21 And Joram said, Make ready. And they made ready chariots. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went to meet Jehu and they met him in the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.

22 And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And Jehu answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

23 Then Joram turned back and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah!

24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Joram in his back, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.

25 Then Jehu said to Bar-dekar his mighty man, Take him up, and cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for I remember how when you and I were driving together after Ahab his father, and the LORD said this thing against him;

26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will requite you in this field, says the LORD. Now therefore take him up and cast him into the field, according to the word of the LORD. So they cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.

27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu pursued him, and said, Slay him also, and they slew him in his chariot at the ascent of the mound, which is by Nebleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

28 And his servants took him and carried him (in a chariot) to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.

30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyelids with kohl, and adorned her head, and looked out a window.

31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of his master?

32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? And there looked out at him two or three eunuchs.

33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and the horses entered and trod her under foot.

34 Then he went in to eat and drink, and he said, See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.

35 And they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than her skull and her feet and the palms of her hands.

36 And when they returned, they told him, and he said, This is the word of the LORD which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the field of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel;

37 And the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse upon the face of the field of Jezreel; and there will be none to bury her, so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

7 爾必滅爾主亞哈之家、昔耶洗別殺我先知衆僕、故行殲滅、以雪其忿、	7 And you shall smite the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.
8 亞哈全家、必淪胥以亡、在以色列族中、我必絕其所有、或僕或主、不遣一男、	8 For I will destroy the whole house of Ahab, and I will cut off from Ahab every male and every one in authority in Israel;
9 使亞哈全家、與尼八子耶羅破暗家、亞希雅子巴沙家、無異、	9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah;
10 在耶斯烈田、耶洗別必爲犬所噬、無人埋瘞、先知言竟、啟門而遁、	10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the inheritance of Naboth in Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door and fled.
11 耶戶出、見王之羣臣、其一間曰、安乎、彼心狂者、見爾何爲、曰、爾識其人、知其所言、	11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord; and they said to him, Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you? And he said to them, You know the man, and his folly.
12 曰、不知、請以告我、曰、彼傳耶和華之命云、我以膏沃爾、使爲以色列王、	12 And they said to him, You are lying; tell us now. And he said to them, Thus and thus he spoke to me, saying, Thus says the LORD: I have anointed you king over Israel.
13 衆各取衣、立佈於階、使耶戶坐、吹角曰、耶戶爲王、	13 Then they hastened and took every man his garment and put it under him on the top of the stairs and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
14 初	14 So Jehu the son of Jimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was holding Ramath-gilead, he and all Israel with him because of Hazael king of Aram.

18 騎者往迓之、曰、王使問爾、爲平康而至否、耶戶曰、是平康與否、何涉爾事、當從我後、戍卒告曰、使者至彼、不見反命、	18 So there went a horseman to meet him and said to him, Thus says the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said. What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he did not return.

22 約藍見耶戶、則曰、耶戶、爾爲平康而至乎、曰、王母耶洗別、狥私慾、拜偶像、從巫覡、若是之多、焉得平康乎、	22 And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And Jehu answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
23 約藍告亞哈謝曰、亞哈謝歟、彼懷不軌、遂旋轅而遁、	23 Then Joram turned back and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah!

Now therefore take him up and cast him into the field, according to the word of the LORD. So they cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.
27 猶大王亞哈謝見此、則由離宮之道而遁、耶戶追襲其後、曰、當襲之於車中、旣至附以伯蓮之姑耳岡、擊之至傷、王遁至米吉多而薨、	27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house.
