1 And Job347 answered6030 and said,559

2 No551 doubt551 but you are the people,5971 and wisdom2451 shall die4191 with you.

3 But I have understanding3824 as well1571 as you; I am1961 not inferior5307 to you: yes, who4310 knows854 not such3644 things as these?428

4 I am as one mocked7832 of his neighbor,7453 who calls7121 on God,433 and he answers6030 him: the just6662 upright8549 man is laughed7832 to scorn.

5 He that is ready3559 to slip4571 with his feet7272 is as a lamp3940 despised937 in the thought6248 of him that is at ease.7600

6 The tabernacles168 of robbers7703 prosper,7951 and they that provoke7264 God410 are secure;987 into whose834 hand3027 God433 brings935 abundantly.

7 But ask7592 now4994 the beasts,929 and they shall teach3384 you; and the fowls5775 of the air,8064 and they shall tell5046 you:

8 Or176 speak7878 to the earth,776 and it shall teach3384 you: and the fishes1709 of the sea3220 shall declare5608 to you.

9 Who4310 knows3045 not in all3605 these428 that the hand3027 of the LORD3068 has worked6213 this?2063

10 In whose834 hand3027 is the soul5315 of every3605 living2416 thing, and the breath7307 of all3605 mankind.1320 376

11 Does not the ear241 try974 words?4405 and the mouth2441 taste2938 his meat?400

12 With the ancient3453 is wisdom;2451 and in length753 of days3117 understanding.8394

13 With him is wisdom2451 and strength,1369 he has counsel6098 and understanding.8394

14 Behold,2005 he breaks2040 down,2040 and it cannot3808 be built1129 again: he shuts5462 up a man,376 and there can be no3808 opening.6605

15 Behold,2005 he withholds6113 the waters,4325 and they dry3001 up: also he sends7971 them out, and they overturn2015 the earth.776

16 With him is strength5797 and wisdom:8454 the deceived7683 and the deceiver7686 are his.

17 He leads3212 counsellors3289 away spoiled,7758 and makes the judges8199 fools.1984

18 He looses6605 the bond4148 of kings,4428 and girds631 their loins4975 with a girdle.232

19 He leads3212 princes3548 away spoiled,7758 and overthrows5557 the mighty.386

20 He removes5493 away the speech8193 of the trusty,539 and takes3947 away the understanding2940 of the aged.2205

2 То есть, что вы народ весь, и с вами умрет премудрость!

3 И у меня, как у вас, сердце есть; я не ниже вас; и у кого не найдется такое нечто?

4 Посмешищем стал я для друга своего, я, который взывал к Богу, и которому Он ответствовал. Посмешищем честный человек, непорочный!

5 Он заброшенная лампада в мыслях счастливца; Он, которого ноги готовы поколебаться.

6 Спокойны шатры у грабителей, и безопасны жилища у раздражающих Бога, есть безопасность тому, для кого Бог - собственная рука {т.е. кто не признает другого Бога, кроме собственного насилия} его.

7 И действительно, спроси у скота, и научит тебя; и у птицы небесной, и возвестит тебе:

8 Или побеседуй с землею, и наставит тебя, и скажут тебе рыбы морские.

9 Кто из всего этого не познал бы, что рука Иеговы творит сие?

10 В Его руке душа всего живущего, и дух всякой плоти человеческой.

11 Не ухо ли разбирает слова, как уста отведывают пищу себе?

12 В старцах мудрость, и в долголетних разум.

13 У Него премудрость и сила; Его совет и разум.

14 Се! что Он разрушит, то не построится; кого Он свяжет, тот не высвободится.

15 Се! остановит воды, и высохнут; но пустит их, тогда изроют землю.

16 У Него могущество и премудрость, пред Ним заблуждающий и вводящий в заблуждение.

17 Он отводит народных советников, как добычу, и судей делает глупыми.

18 Он ослабляет грозу царей, и обвязывает чресла их поясом.

19 Он отводит священников как добычу, и низлагает утвердившихся в силе.

20 Отнимает язык у верующих в себя, и старцев лишает смысла.

21 Стыдом обливает знаменитых, и ослабляет пояс могучих.

22 Глубокое выносит из тьмы, и мрачное изводит на свет.

23 Размножает народы, и губит их; распростирает народы, и уводит их.

24 Отъемлет сердце у глав народа земли, и оставляет их блуждать в пустыне, где нет пути.

25 Ощупью ходят они во тьме, а не во свете; и оставляет их шататься, подобно пьяному.
