Chapter 2

1 ON the third day there was a marriage feast in Cana, a city of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there.

2 And Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the marriage feast.

3 And when the wine decreased, his mother said to Jesus, They have no wine.

4 Jesus said to her, What is it to me and to you, woman? my turn has not yet come.

5 His mother said to the helpers, Whatever he tells you, do it.

6 And there were six stone jars placed there for the purification of the Jews, which could hold several gallons each.

7 Jesus said to them, Fill the jars with water; and they filled them up to the brim.

8 Then he said to them, Draw out now, and bring it to the chief guest of the feast. And they brought it.

9 And when the chief guest tasted the water that had become wine, he did not know whence it had come; but the helpers knew, who had drawn the water. Then the chief guest called the bridegroom

10 And said to him, Every man at first brings the best wine; and when they have drunk, then that which is weak; but you have kept the best wine until now.

11 This is the first miracle which Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and he showed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers, and his disciples; and they remained there a few days.

13 And the Jewish passover was nearing; so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 And he found in the temple those who were buying oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting.

15 And he made a whip of cord, and drove them all out of the temple, even the sheep and the oxen and the money changers; and he threw out their exchange money, and upset their trays;

16 And to those who sold doves he said, Take these away from here; do not make my Father's house a house of trading.

17 And his disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal for your house has given me courage.

18 The Jews answered and said to him, What sign do you show us, that you are doing these things?

19 Jesus answered and said to them, Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 The Jews said to him, It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?

21 But he spoke concerning the temple of his body.

22 When he rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scriptures and the word which Jesus had said.

23 Now when Jesus was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, a great many believed in him, because they saw the miracles which he did.

24 But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he understood every man.

25 And he needed no man to testify to him concerning any man; for he knew well what was in man.

1 Через два дня в Кане, что в Галилее, была свадьба. И была там мать Иисуса.

2 Иисус с учениками Его тоже был приглашен на свадьбу.

3 Когда на том пире кончилось вино, мать Иисуса говорит Ему: «У них нет вина».

4 «Должно ли это беспокоить нас, о женщина? — ответил ей Иисус. — Не пришел еще час Мой».

5 Тогда мать Его сказала слугам: «Делайте всё, как Он скажет вам!»

6 Были там каменные кувшины для воды (иудеи пользовались ими для ритуальных омовений), шесть их было, и вмещали они от восьмидесяти до ста двадцати литров каждый.

7 «Наполните кувшины водой», — сказал Иисус слугам. Те наполнили их до краев.

8 Тогда сказал Он им: «Теперь зачерпните и отнесите распорядителю пира!» Так и сделали они.

9 Когда распорядитель пира отведал воды, ставшей вином (а он, конечно, не знал, откуда оно, знали только слуги, зачерпнувшие воду), подозвал он жениха

10 и сказал ему: «Все, кого я знаю, сначала подают хорошее вино, а потом, когда уже много выпьют гости, — похуже, ты же лучшее берег до сих пор».

11 Так совершил Иисус в Кане галилейской первое из Своих чудесных знамений. Явил Он там впервые силу Свою и величие, и уверовали в Него ученики Его.

12 После того пришел Он с матерью Своей, братьями и учениками в Капернаум. Они пробыли там несколько дней.

13 И как приближалась Пасха иудейская, то Иисус пошел в Иерусалим.

14 Во дворе Храма Он увидел торговцев, которые продавали быков, овец и голубей; были здесь и сидевшие за своими столами менялы.

15 Иисус сделал из веревок бич и выгнал из Храма всех торговавших вместе с овцами их и быками. Столы менял опрокинул Он, рассыпав их деньги,

16 а продавцам голубей сказал: «Уберите все это отсюда! Не превращайте в торжище Дом Отца Моего!»

17 Вспомнили тогда ученики Его, что в Писании сказано: «Преданность Дому Твоему уничтожит Меня».

18 Тогда вожди иудейские спросили его: «Какое знамение явишь Ты нам, чтобы доказать Свое право так поступать?»

19 «Разрушьте Храм этот, — ответил им Иисус, — и Я в три дня воздвигну его».

20 «Как, — возразили они, — сорок шесть лет строился этот Храм, а Ты берешься воздвигнуть его в три дня?!»

21 Но, говоря о Храме, Иисус имел в виду тело Свое.

22 Потом уже, когда воскрес Иисус из мертвых, ученики Его вспомнили, что Он говорил об этом, и обрели уверенность в Писании и в словах Иисуса.

23 Во дни пребывания Его в Иерусалиме на празднике Пасхи многие, видя чудесные знаменья, которые Он творил, уверовали в Него.

24 Иисус же не вверял Себя им, потому что знал их всех;

25 Он не нуждался ни в чьих свидетельствах о ком бы то ни было, ибо Сам знал, что в каком человеке есть.

2 And Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the marriage feast.

3 And when the wine decreased, his mother said to Jesus, They have no wine.

3 Когда на том пире кончилось вино, мать Иисуса говорит Ему: «У них нет вина».

4 Jesus said to her, What is it to me and to you, woman? my turn has not yet come.

4 «Должно ли это беспокоить нас, о женщина? — ответил ей Иисус. — Не пришел еще час Мой».

5 His mother said to the helpers, Whatever he tells you, do it.

5 Тогда мать Его сказала слугам: «Делайте всё, как Он скажет вам!»

9 And when the chief guest tasted the water that had become wine, he did not know whence it had come; but the helpers knew, who had drawn the water. Then the chief guest called the bridegroom

9 Когда распорядитель пира отведал воды, ставшей вином (а он, конечно, не знал, откуда оно, знали только слуги, зачерпнувшие воду), подозвал он жениха

10 And said to him, Every man at first brings the best wine; and when they have drunk, then that which is weak; but you have kept the best wine until now.

10 и сказал ему: «Все, кого я знаю, сначала подают хорошее вино, а потом, когда уже много выпьют гости, — похуже, ты же лучшее берег до сих пор».

11 This is the first miracle which Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and he showed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

11 Так совершил Иисус в Кане галилейской первое из Своих чудесных знамений. Явил Он там впервые силу Свою и величие, и уверовали в Него ученики Его.

12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers, and his disciples; and they remained there a few days.

12 После того пришел Он с матерью Своей, братьями и учениками в Капернаум. Они пробыли там несколько дней.

13 And the Jewish passover was nearing; so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

13 И как приближалась Пасха иудейская, то Иисус пошел в Иерусалим.

14 And he found in the temple those who were buying oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting.

14 Во дворе Храма Он увидел торговцев, которые продавали быков, овец и голубей; были здесь и сидевшие за своими столами менялы.

15 And he made a whip of cord, and drove them all out of the temple, even the sheep and the oxen and the money changers; and he threw out their exchange money, and upset their trays;

15 Иисус сделал из веревок бич и выгнал из Храма всех торговавших вместе с овцами их и быками. Столы менял опрокинул Он, рассыпав их деньги,

16 And to those who sold doves he said, Take these away from here; do not make my Father's house a house of trading.

16 а продавцам голубей сказал: «Уберите все это отсюда! Не превращайте в торжище Дом Отца Моего!»

17 Вспомнили тогда ученики Его, что в Писании сказано: «Преданность Дому Твоему уничтожит Меня».

18 Тогда вожди иудейские спросили его: «Какое знамение явишь Ты нам, чтобы доказать Свое право так поступать?»

19 «Разрушьте Храм этот, — ответил им Иисус, — и Я в три дня воздвигну его».

20 «Как, — возразили они, — сорок шесть лет строился этот Храм, а Ты берешься воздвигнуть его в три дня?!»

21 But he spoke concerning the temple of his body.

21 Но, говоря о Храме, Иисус имел в виду тело Свое.

22 When he rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scriptures and the word which Jesus had said.

22 Потом уже, когда воскрес Иисус из мертвых, ученики Его вспомнили, что Он говорил об этом, и обрели уверенность в Писании и в словах Иисуса.

23 Now when Jesus was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, a great many believed in him, because they saw the miracles which he did.

23 Во дни пребывания Его в Иерусалиме на празднике Пасхи многие, видя чудесные знаменья, которые Он творил, уверовали в Него.

24 But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he understood every man.

24 Иисус же не вверял Себя им, потому что знал их всех;

25 And he needed no man to testify to him concerning any man; for he knew well what was in man.

25 Он не нуждался ни в чьих свидетельствах о ком бы то ни было, ибо Сам знал, что в каком человеке есть.
