2 І запалився гнів Елігу, сина Барах'їлового, бузянина, з роду Рамового, — на Йова запали́вся гнів його за те, що той уважав душу свою справедливішою за Бога. |
|
3 Також на трьох при́ятелів його запалився його гнів за те, що не знайшли вони відповіді, а зробили тільки Йова винним. |
|
4 А Елігу вичікував Йова та їх із словами, бо вони були ста́рші віком за нього. |
|
5 І побачив Елігу, що нема належної відповіді в устах тих трьох людей, — і запалився його гнів! |
|
6 І відповів бузянин Елі́гу, син Барах'їлів, та й сказав: „Молодий я літа́ми, ви ж ста́рші, тому́ то я стри́мувався та боявся знання́ своє ви́словити вам |
|
7 Я поду́мав: Хай вік промовля́є, і хай розуму вчить многолі́ття! |
|
8 Справді, дух — він у люди́ні, та Всемогутнього по́дих їх мудрими чинить. |
|
9 Многолі́тні не за́вжди розумні, і не все розуміються в праві старі́. |
|
10 Тому́ я кажу: Послухай мене, — хай знання́ своє ви́словлю й я! |
|
11 Тож слів ваших вичі́кував я, наставляв свої уші до вашої мудрости, поки справу ви дослідите́. |
|
12 І я приглядався до вас, й ось немає між вами, хто б Йо́ву довів, хто б відповідь дав на слова́ його! |
|
13 Щоб ви не сказали: „Ми мудрість знайшли: не люди́на, а Бог перемо́же його́!“ |
|
14 Не на мене слова́ він скеро́вував, і я не відповім йому мовою вашою. |
|
15 Полякались вони, вже не відповіда́ють, не мають вже слів, |
|
16 Я чекав, що не бу́дуть вони говорити, що спини́лись, не відповідають уже. |
|
17 Відповім також я свою ча́стку, і ви́словлю й я свою ду́мку. |
|
18 Бо я повний слова́ми, — дух мойо́го нутра́ докуча́є мені. |
|
19 Ось утро́ба моя, мов вино невідкри́те, — вона трі́скається, як нові бурдюки́! |
|
20 Нехай я скажу́ — й буде легше мені, нехай у́ста відкрию свої — й відповім! |
|
21 На осо́бу не бу́ду уваги звертати, не буду підле́щуватись до люди́ни, |
|
22 бо не вмію підле́щуватись! Коли ж ні, — нехай зараз ві́зьме мене мій Творе́ць! |

1 SO these three men who wanted to condemn Job ceased answering him, because he was found righteous in their eyes. |
|
2 Then Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was angry; so his wrath against Job kindled, because he justified himself more than God. |
|
3 His wrath also kindled against his three friends, because they had found no answer to Job so that they might condemn him. |
|
4 Now Elihu had waited to correct Job with words, because the other men were older than he. |
|
5 When Elihu saw that these three were unable to answer Job, then he was incensed. |
|
6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, Because I am younger than you in days and you are old, therefore I was afraid, and did not dare to show you my knowledge. |
|
7 For I said, Days should speak, and the multitude of years should teach wisdom. |
|
8 Truly, there is a spirit in men; and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding. |
|
9 It is not age that makes men wise; nor do the aged always understand judgment. |
|
10 Therefore I say, Hearken to me; I also will show you my knowledge. |
|
11 Behold, I kept silent while you spoke; I gave ear until you made an end of speaking, while you searched for words. |
|
12 Yea, I understood your testimony, and, behold, there was none of you that could reprove Job, or that could answer his words, |
|
13 So that you could not say, We have found wisdom. God has smitten him, not man. |
|
14 Now Job has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches. |
|
15 They were silent, they answered him no more; their words were all spent, so they held their peace; |
|
16 They did not speak; they stood still, and answered him no more. |
|
17 I will answer also on my part; I also will show my knowledge. |
|
18 For I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me. |
|
19 Behold, I cannot restrain myself, nor can I find relief; I can no longer hold myself from talking. |
|
20 I will speak so that I may find relief; I will open my lips and answer. |
|
21 I will not be partial toward any person, neither will I be ashamed of the presence of any one. |
|
22 For I do not know what shame is; else would my Almighty One soon take me away. |

4 Now Elihu had waited to correct Job with words, because the other men were older than he. |

5 When Elihu saw that these three were unable to answer Job, then he was incensed. |

6 І відповів бузянин Елі́гу, син Барах'їлів, та й сказав: „Молодий я літа́ми, ви ж ста́рші, тому́ то я стри́мувався та боявся знання́ своє ви́словити вам |
6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, Because I am younger than you in days and you are old, therefore I was afraid, and did not dare to show you my knowledge. |

7 Я поду́мав: Хай вік промовля́є, і хай розуму вчить многолі́ття! |
7 For I said, Days should speak, and the multitude of years should teach wisdom. |
|
8 Справді, дух — він у люди́ні, та Всемогутнього по́дих їх мудрими чинить. |
8 Truly, there is a spirit in men; and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding. |

9 Многолі́тні не за́вжди розумні, і не все розуміються в праві старі́. |
9 It is not age that makes men wise; nor do the aged always understand judgment. |
|

10 Therefore I say, Hearken to me; I also will show you my knowledge. |

11 Тож слів ваших вичі́кував я, наставляв свої уші до вашої мудрости, поки справу ви дослідите́. |
11 Behold, I kept silent while you spoke; I gave ear until you made an end of speaking, while you searched for words. |
|
12 І я приглядався до вас, й ось немає між вами, хто б Йо́ву довів, хто б відповідь дав на слова́ його! |
12 Yea, I understood your testimony, and, behold, there was none of you that could reprove Job, or that could answer his words, |
|
13 Щоб ви не сказали: „Ми мудрість знайшли: не люди́на, а Бог перемо́же його́!“ |
13 So that you could not say, We have found wisdom. God has smitten him, not man. |
|
14 Не на мене слова́ він скеро́вував, і я не відповім йому мовою вашою. |
14 Now Job has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches. |
|
15 Полякались вони, вже не відповіда́ють, не мають вже слів, |
15 They were silent, they answered him no more; their words were all spent, so they held their peace; |

16 Я чекав, що не бу́дуть вони говорити, що спини́лись, не відповідають уже. |
16 They did not speak; they stood still, and answered him no more. |
|
17 Відповім також я свою ча́стку, і ви́словлю й я свою ду́мку. |
17 I will answer also on my part; I also will show my knowledge. |
|
18 Бо я повний слова́ми, — дух мойо́го нутра́ докуча́є мені. |
18 For I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me. |
|
19 Ось утро́ба моя, мов вино невідкри́те, — вона трі́скається, як нові бурдюки́! |
19 Behold, I cannot restrain myself, nor can I find relief; I can no longer hold myself from talking. |
|
20 Нехай я скажу́ — й буде легше мені, нехай у́ста відкрию свої — й відповім! |
20 I will speak so that I may find relief; I will open my lips and answer. |
|
21 На осо́бу не бу́ду уваги звертати, не буду підле́щуватись до люди́ни, |
21 I will not be partial toward any person, neither will I be ashamed of the presence of any one. |
|
22 бо не вмію підле́щуватись! Коли ж ні, — нехай зараз ві́зьме мене мій Творе́ць! |
22 For I do not know what shame is; else would my Almighty One soon take me away. |
