Job
Chapter 14
1 Der Mensch120, vom Weibe802 geboren3205, lebt kurze7116 Zeit3117 und ist voll7649 Unruhe7267,
1 Man120 that is born3205 of a woman802 is of few7116 days 3117and full7646 of trouble.7267
2 gehet auf5975 wie eine Blume6731 und3318 fällt ab5243, fleucht wie ein Schatten6738 und bleibet nicht.
2 He comes3318 forth3318 like a flower,6731 and is cut5243 down: he flees1272 also as a shadow,6738 and continues5975 not.
3 Und935 du tust6491 deine Augen5869 über solchem auf, daß du mich vor dir in das2088 Gericht4941 ziehest.
3 And does you open6491 your eyes5869 on such2088 an one, and bring935 me into judgment4941 with you?
4 Wer will einen259 Reinen2889 finden bei denen, da keiner rein ist5414?
4 Who4310 can bring5414 a clean2889 thing out of an unclean?2931 not one.259
5 Er hat seine bestimmte2782 Zeit3117, die Zahl4557 seiner Monden2320 stehet bei dir; du hast6213 ein Ziel2706 gesetzt, das wird er nicht518 übergehen.
5 Seeing518 his days3117 are determined,2782 the number4557 of his months2320 are with you, you have appointed6213 his bounds2706 that he cannot3808 pass;5674
6 Tue dich8159 von ihm, daß er Ruhe habe2308, bis daß seine Zeit3117 komme, deren er wie ein Taglöhner wartet7521.
6 Turn8159 from him, that he may rest,2308 till5704 he shall accomplish,7521 as an hireling,7916 his day.3117
7 Ein Baum6086 hat3772 Hoffnung8615, wenn er schon abgehauen ist3426, daß er sich wieder verändere, und seine Schößlinge3127 hören nicht auf2308.
7 For there is hope8615 of a tree,6086 if it be cut3772 down, that it will sprout2498 again,5750 and that the tender3127 branch thereof will not cease.2308
8 Ob seine Wurzel8328 in der Erde776 veraltet2204 und sein4191 Stamm1503 in dem Staube6083 erstirbt,
8 Though518 the root8328 thereof wax old2204 in the earth,776 and the stock1503 thereof die4191 in the ground;6083
9 grünet er doch wieder vom Geruch7381 des Wassers4325 und6213 wächst daher7105, als wäre er gepflanzet.
9 Yet through the scent7381 of water4325 it will bud,6524 and bring6213 forth6213 boughs7105 like3644 a plant.5194
10 Wo ist aber ein Mensch1397, wenn er120 tot und umkommen und dahin2522 ist?
10 But man1397 dies,4191 and wastes2522 away: yes, man120 gives1478 up the ghost,1478 and where346 is he?
11 Wie ein Wasser4325 ausläuft235 aus dem See3220 und wie ein Strom5104 versieget und vertrocknet3001,
11 As the waters4325 fail235 from the sea,3220 and the flood5104 decays2717 and dries3001 up:
12 so ist ein376 Mensch, wenn er sich7901 legt, und wird nicht aufstehen und wird nicht aufwachen6974, solange der Himmel8064 bleibt, noch von1115 seinem Schlaf8142 erweckt5782 werden6965.
12 So man376 lies7901 down,7901 and rises6965 not: till5704 the heavens8064 be no1115 more, they shall not awake,6974 nor3808 be raised5782 out of their sleep.8142
13 Ach, daß du6845 mich in der Hölle7585 verdecktest und5414 verbärgest, bis dein Zorn639 sich7725 lege7896, und setztest mir ein Ziel2706, daß du5641 an2142 mich denkest!
13 O that you would hide6845 me in the grave,7585 that you would keep me secret,5641 until5704 your wrath639 be past,7725 that you would appoint7896 me a set2706 time, and remember2142 me!
14 Meinest du, ein toter4191 Mensch1397 werde wieder leben2421? Ich harre täglich3117; dieweil ich streite, bis daß meine Veränderung2487 komme935,
14 If518 a man1397 die,4191 shall he live2421 again? all3605 the days3117 of my appointed6635 time6635 will I wait,3176 till5704 my change2487 come.935
15 daß du wollest mir rufen, und ich7121 dir antworten6030, und wollest das4639 Werk deiner Hände3027 nicht ausschlagen.
15 You shall call,7121 and I will answer6030 you: you will have a desire3700 to the work4639 of your hands.3027
16 Denn du5608 hast8104 schon meine Gänge6806 gezählet; aber du wollest ja nicht achthaben auf meine Sünde2403.
16 For now6258 you number5608 my steps:6806 do you not watch8104 over5921 my sin?2403
17 Du hast meine Übertretung in einem Bündlein6872 versiegelt2856 und meine Missetat6588 zusammengefasset.
17 My transgression6588 is sealed2856 up in a bag,6872 and you sew2950 up my iniquity.5771
18 Zerfällt5307 doch ein Berg2022 und199 vergehet, und ein Fels6697 wird von seinem Ort4725 versetzt6275.
18 And surely199 the mountains2022 falling5307 comes5034 to nothing,5034 and the rock6697 is removed6275 out of his place.4725
19 Wasser4325 wäschet Steine68 weg, und776 die Tropfen flößen7857 die Erde6083 weg; aber des Menschen582 Hoffnung8615 ist verloren6.
19 The waters4325 wear7833 the stones:68 you wash7857 away the things which grow5599 out of the dust6083 of the earth;776 and you destroy6 the hope8615 of man.582
20 Denn du7971 stößest8630 ihn6440 gar um5331, daß er dahinfähret, veränderst8138 sein Wesen und lässest ihn fahren1980.
20 You prevail8630 for ever5331 against him, and he passes:1980 you change8138 his countenance,6440 and send7971 him away.
21 Sind6819 seine Kinder1121 in Ehren3513, das weiß3045 er nicht; oder ob sie geringe sind, des wird995 er nicht gewahr.
21 His sons1121 come to honor,3513 and he knows3045 it not; and they are brought6819 low,6819 but he perceives995 it not of them.
22 Weil er das Fleisch1320 an sich trägt, muß er Schmerzen3510 haben, und weil seine See LE5315 noch bei ihm ist, muß er Leid56 tragen.
22 But his flesh1320 on him shall have pain,3510 and his soul5315 within5921 him shall mourn.56
