約翰福音

第14章

1 爾心勿戚戚、當信上帝、亦信我矣、

2 我父家多第宅、否則我必告爾、我往爲爾備所居、

3 若往備所居、必復來接爾歸我、我所在、使爾亦在、

4 我往之所、爾知之、其途亦知之、

5 多馬曰、主往之所、我儕且不知、况其途乎、

6 耶穌曰、我卽途也、眞理也、生命也、非我則末由就父、

7 爾識我、自識我父、今而後、爾識之、亦嘗見之、

8 腓力曰、主、以父示我足矣、

9 耶穌曰、腓力、我偕爾如此之久、爾猶未識我乎、見我卽見父、何言以父示我乎、

10 我在父、父在我、爾不信歟、我與爾言者、非自擅而言、乃在我之父、行其事也、

11 我在父、父在我、爾當信之、否、則以我所行而信我、

12 我誠告爾、凡信我、則我所行、彼將行之、卽大於斯者、亦將行之、以我歸父也、

13 爾托我名而有所求、我必成之、俾父以子榮、

14 故爾托我名而有所求者、我必成之矣、〇

15 爾若愛我、則守我誡、

16 我將求父、父必更以保惠師賚爾、終與爾居、

17 卽眞理之神、世人不能接者、爲其不見不識之也、爾識之、以與爾偕、將居爾心、

18 我不舍爾曹若孤子、我必就爾、

19 頃之、世人不復見我、惟爾見我、以我生、爾亦生、

20 斯時也、爾將知我在父、爾在我、我在爾焉、

21 聞我誡而守之者、卽愛我、愛我者、父愛之、我亦愛之、且以己顯示之、

22 有與加略人猶大同名者、謂耶穌曰、主、顯示我儕、不顯示世人、何與、

23 耶穌曰、人愛我、必守我道、我父必愛之、我儕至而與之居、

24 不愛我者、不守我道、然爾所聽者、非由我、乃由遣我之父也、

25 我與爾居而言此、

26 惟保惠師、卽聖神、父緣我名而遣之者、將以衆理示爾、使憶我所言耳、

27 我遺爾以安、卽以我之安賜爾、我所賜、非如世所賜、爾心勿憂勿懼、

28 我言將往而復來、爾聞之矣、若愛我、則我言歸父、爾必喜之、以父大於我也、

29 事未成、我先告爾、事成、爾可信之、

30 後無煩言告爾、蓋此世之君將至、於我無與也、

31 此事必有、使世知我愛父、循父命而行、起與我偕往、

Chapter 14

1 LET not your heart be troubled; believe in God, and believe in me also.

2 In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and take you to me, so that where I am, you may be also.

4 You know where I am going, and you know the way.

5 Thomas said to him, Our Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no man comes to my Father except by me.

7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; from henceforth you know him and you have seen him.

8 Philip said to him, Our Lord, show us the Father, and that is enough for us.

9 Jesus said to him, All this time I have been with you, and yet you do not know me, Philip? he who sees me, has seen the Father; and how do you say, Show us the Father?

10 Do you not believe that I am with my Father and my Father is with me? * the words that I speak, I do not speak of myself; but my Father who abides with me, he does these works.

11 Believe that I am with my Father, and my Father is with me; and if not, believe because of the works.

12 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes in me, the works which I do he shall do also; even greater than these things he shall do, because I am going to my Father.

13 And whatever you ask in my name, I will do it for you, so that the Father may be glorified through his Son.

14 If you ask me in my own name, I will do it.

15 If you love me, then obey my commandments.

16 And I will ask of my Father, and he will give you another Comforter, to be with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of the truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it has not seen him, and does not know him; but you know him because he abides with you, and is in you.

18 I will not leave you orphans, for I will come to you after a little while.

19 And the world will not see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also shall live.

20 In that day you will know that I am with my Father, and you are with me, and I am with you.

21 He who has my commandments with him and obeys them, he is the one who loves me; he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and reveal myself to him.

22 Judas (not of Iscariot) said to him, My Lord, why is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?

23 Jesus answered and said to him, He who loves me, keeps my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make a place of abode with him.

24 But he who does not love me, does not keep my word; and this word which you hear, is not mine own, but the Father's who sent me.

25 I have spoken these things to you, while I am with you.

26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom my Father will send in my name, he will teach you everything, and remind you of everything which I tell you.

27 Peace I leave with you; my own peace I give you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid.

28 You heard that I told you, I am going away, and I will come to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I am going to my Father; for my Father is greater than I.

29 And now behold, I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe.

30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you; for the prince of this world comes; and yet he has nothing against me.

31 But that the world may know that I love my Father, and as my Father has commanded me, so I do. Arise, let us go away from here.

1 爾心勿戚戚、當信上帝、亦信我矣、	1 LET not your heart be troubled; believe in God, and believe in me also.
2 我父家多第宅、否則我必告爾、我往爲爾備所居、	2 In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
3 若往備所居、必復來接爾歸我、我所在、使爾亦在、	3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and take you to me, so that where I am, you may be also.
4 我往之所、爾知之、其途亦知之、	4 You know where I am going, and you know the way.
5 多馬曰、主往之所、我儕且不知、况其途乎、	5 Thomas said to him, Our Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?
6 耶穌曰、我卽途也、眞理也、生命也、非我則末由就父、	6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no man comes to my Father except by me.
7 爾識我、自識我父、今而後、爾識之、亦嘗見之、	7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; from henceforth you know him and you have seen him.
8 腓力曰、主、以父示我足矣、	8 Philip said to him, Our Lord, show us the Father, and that is enough for us.
9 耶穌曰、腓力、我偕爾如此之久、爾猶未識我乎、見我卽見父、何言以父示我乎、	9 Jesus said to him, All this time I have been with you, and yet you do not know me, Philip? he who sees me, has seen the Father; and how do you say, Show us the Father?
10 我在父、父在我、爾不信歟、我與爾言者、非自擅而言、乃在我之父、行其事也、	10 Do you not believe that I am with my Father and my Father is with me? * the words that I speak, I do not speak of myself; but my Father who abides with me, he does these works.
11 我在父、父在我、爾當信之、否、則以我所行而信我、	11 Believe that I am with my Father, and my Father is with me; and if not, believe because of the works.
12 我誠告爾、凡信我、則我所行、彼將行之、卽大於斯者、亦將行之、以我歸父也、	12 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes in me, the works which I do he shall do also; even greater than these things he shall do, because I am going to my Father.
13 爾托我名而有所求、我必成之、俾父以子榮、	13 And whatever you ask in my name, I will do it for you, so that the Father may be glorified through his Son.
14 故爾托我名而有所求者、我必成之矣、〇	14 If you ask me in my own name, I will do it.
15 爾若愛我、則守我誡、	15 If you love me, then obey my commandments.
16 我將求父、父必更以保惠師賚爾、終與爾居、	16 And I will ask of my Father, and he will give you another Comforter, to be with you for ever;
17 卽眞理之神、世人不能接者、爲其不見不識之也、爾識之、以與爾偕、將居爾心、	17 Even the Spirit of the truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it has not seen him, and does not know him; but you know him because he abides with you, and is in you.
18 我不舍爾曹若孤子、我必就爾、	18 I will not leave you orphans, for I will come to you after a little while.
19 頃之、世人不復見我、惟爾見我、以我生、爾亦生、	19 And the world will not see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also shall live.
20 斯時也、爾將知我在父、爾在我、我在爾焉、	20 In that day you will know that I am with my Father, and you are with me, and I am with you.
21 聞我誡而守之者、卽愛我、愛我者、父愛之、我亦愛之、且以己顯示之、	21 He who has my commandments with him and obeys them, he is the one who loves me; he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and reveal myself to him.
22 有與加略人猶大同名者、謂耶穌曰、主、顯示我儕、不顯示世人、何與、	22 Judas (not of Iscariot) said to him, My Lord, why is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?
23 耶穌曰、人愛我、必守我道、我父必愛之、我儕至而與之居、	23 Jesus answered and said to him, He who loves me, keeps my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make a place of abode with him.
24 不愛我者、不守我道、然爾所聽者、非由我、乃由遣我之父也、	24 But he who does not love me, does not keep my word; and this word which you hear, is not mine own, but the Father's who sent me.
25 我與爾居而言此、	25 I have spoken these things to you, while I am with you.
26 惟保惠師、卽聖神、父緣我名而遣之者、將以衆理示爾、使憶我所言耳、	26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom my Father will send in my name, he will teach you everything, and remind you of everything which I tell you.
27 我遺爾以安、卽以我之安賜爾、我所賜、非如世所賜、爾心勿憂勿懼、	27 Peace I leave with you; my own peace I give you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid.
28 我言將往而復來、爾聞之矣、若愛我、則我言歸父、爾必喜之、以父大於我也、	28 You heard that I told you, I am going away, and I will come to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I am going to my Father; for my Father is greater than I.
29 事未成、我先告爾、事成、爾可信之、	29 And now behold, I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe.
30 後無煩言告爾、蓋此世之君將至、於我無與也、	30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you; for the prince of this world comes; and yet he has nothing against me.
31 此事必有、使世知我愛父、循父命而行、起與我偕往、	31 But that the world may know that I love my Father, and as my Father has commanded me, so I do. Arise, let us go away from here.
