彼得前書

第5章

1 我這作長老、作基督受苦的見證、同享後來所要顯現之榮耀的，勸你們中間與我同作長老的人：

2 務要餵養［feed］在你們中間神的群羊，按著神旨意照管他們；不是出於勉強，乃是出於甘心；也不是因為貪財，乃是出於樂意；

3 也不像作神產業之主［Neither as being lords over God’s heritage］，乃是作群羊的榜樣。

4 到了大牧者［chief Shepherd］顯現的時候，你們必得那永不衰殘的榮耀冠冕。

5 你們年幼的，也要順服年長的。就是你們眾人也都要穿上謙卑［clothed with humility］，彼此順服；因為神阻擋驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。

6 所以，你們要謙卑［Humble］，服在神大能的手下，到了時候他必叫你們升高。

7 你們要將一切的憂慮卸給神，因為他顧念你們。

8 務要謹守，警醒。因為你們的仇敵魔鬼，如同吼叫的獅子，遍地行走［walketh］，尋找可吞吃的人。

9 你們要用堅固的信心抵擋他，因為知道你們在世上的眾弟兄也是經歷這樣的苦難。

10 然而［But］那賜諸般恩典的神，就是那［who］曾召我們［called us］因基督耶穌［by Christ Jesus］得享他永遠的榮耀，等你們暫受苦難之後，必使你們得以完全［make you perfect］，堅固你們，賜力量給你們，使你們立穩［settle you］。

11 願榮耀［glory］與權柄［dominion］歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們。

12 我略略的寫了這信，託我所看為忠心的兄弟西拉轉交你們，勸勉你們，又證明你們所站立的這恩典［wherein ye stand］，是神的真恩。

13 在巴比倫與你們同蒙揀選的教會問你們安。我兒子馬可也問你們安。

14 你們要用愛心彼此親嘴問安，願平安歸與你們凡在基督耶穌［Jesus］裏的人。阿們［Amen］。

Chapter 5

1 I EXHORT the ministers who are among you, for I also am a minister and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.

2 Feed the flock of God which is entrusted to your care and shepherd them spiritually, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but with all your heart.

3 Live not as overlords over the flock, but as good examples to them.

4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that will not fade away.

5 And you too, young people, submit yourselves to your elders; and clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7 Casting all your cares upon God; for he cares for you.

8 Be vigilant, and be cautious; because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Rise up, therefore, against him, as you are steadfast in the faith, knowing that your brethren who are in the world also suffered these same afflictions.

10 But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, whom God has given to us; will strengthen us to endure these little afflictions that we may be made steadfast and remain in him for ever.

11 To him be glory and dominion and honour for ever and ever. Amen.

12 By Sil-va'nus, a faithful brother, I have written you these things briefly according to my opinion, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein you stand.

13 The chosen church which is at Bab'ylon, and Mark, my son, salutes you.

14 Greet one another with a holy kiss. Peace be with you all who are in Christ. Amen.
